“Their Rooms” has been available for pre-order since 3rd January and includes 6 songs written by the members themselves. In order for this album to be a present with a deep meaning for not just the fans who have been waiting for their songs, but also to many other people, they have been trying their best and devoting themselves to the production of this album.
However, due to the excessive amount of orders, though we tried all means and tried our best, it is inevitable that we have to delay the shipment date which we had previously announced.
In order to physically guarantee the time taken to produce the album and for the album to be of a better quality, it is inevitable that we have to postpone the Shipment Date. Please understand.
The Preorder period is now from 3rd January to 23rd January 2011 and the shipment date has been changed to the 24th of January.
Once again we seek your understanding. We will work our hardest so that you will be able to receive the best product in the shortest time possible.

Oh of course! In Korea, Homin sales is not even half of what JYJ sells even with such a big promotion. Homin is getting promotion of TV ad, internet ad, newspaper, major tv entertainment program, major tv music shows. 70,000 times of theatre ad. but much lower than JYJ who had no such promotion. SM really wants to win this game, because see, Kcassies never saw this kind of promotion for TVXQ act 1 before. >,.< but SM, you are losing.

And Sigh, 2VXQ won the first prize thanks to SM push, but clear comparison in sales figure in every thing (album, audiences that attend to their performances including musical, concert, fanmeeting… ) shows that JYJ’s popularity cannot be compared to Homin. The injustice is, even when fans know this, SM with help of media tries to pretend Homin gets support and praise about their music. Are you kidding? In recent twitter of a Korean rapper, “I finally listened to YH’s rap, about which I heard so many times,” implying that rappers talk about YH’s rap. in a good way? it is up to your interpretation, but the rapper’s twit was in clear laughing-at mode. The rap and music in 2VXQ album is a joke for many of us. I wonder why SM had chosen such songs and lyrics if they actually want to support Homin in a long term. Has there been any improvement or quality as so called “protector of TVXQ”? One critic (not fan) gave the “worst grade” for this album, saying TVXQ hugely set back with this album. I don’t know whether SM sincere wants to promote Homin and their representative singers, or using them and the horrible lyrics to win over old tvxq fandom and trap on JYJ. I think it is the latter. If SM was really serious about TVXQ name value and if HM was really serious about TVXQ name and fans, such an album could not have been produced. But still I see SM strategy works in many country. Now their SNSD and other singers are popular, fans who do not know much about the detail will support Homin with other SM singers. TVXQ act 1, which was the real tvxq, has been shot dead by SM and Homin, I think.

@we I have to admit that up til now I havent’ be able to listen to HoMin’s songs. I heard that lot of people love it, so I can not judge though. But seriously, they are gaining more and more fanboys (at least in my country) the reason might be the beat of the song and their live performances. I don’t know, but all I can say that I couldn’t stand listen their songs or watched their MV/Live Perf.
Sigh, I miss 5 of them. But I understand the current situation and I’ll give my fully support to JYJ.

@Move On Me too, I haven’t watched any performances or listened to anything from 2VXQ because I just don’t care anymore. I really don’t know how they’re doing since they came back, but I always thought they would do well, since SME is behind them.
But one thing I noticed from lurking around sites is that most international fans seem to like KYHD. I guess, maybe because of the beat? I haven’t listened to KYHD but my friend did, and she told me that the best way she could have described the song was “If you watch wrestling, the wrestlers before they come up to the ring, there is a song playing in the background. I can perfectly imagine KYHD as that song in the background.” I guess if there a lot of people who appreciate songs like that, then KYHD would be liked.
for me, keep your head down mv and teasers are cool but somehow when i see their expressions in it…total turn off….such anger and hatred all present in there…this was not the tvxq i love and know….sorry but i’ll be honest homin new album has got to be low in music terms….sme could have given them better songs, and sure there will be ppl who love KYHD but not for me….the lyrics are a major turn off already…and the fact that they changed shocked me and made me disappointed but not anymore~i’m not going to even bother those two anymore == those two are irrelevant to me right now JYJ is my priority! i want them to be happy and continue to make music ^^

Rums, don’t belittle HoMin’s success by putting them down. I don’t agree (mildly speaking) with the message KYHD sends, and yet I admire the boys for their hard work they put into the album and comeback performances.
As for United World chart, it can’t be dismissed, it, uses digital and physical sales, as well as airplay, to determine the most popular albums and singles worldwide. Having a spot there does mean something.
I still can’t figure out if Their Rooms will be counted towardsd any musical chart though, because it’s listed everywhere as a book. However, YesAsia did mention that sales on their site will count towards Gaon, but they added this info only a day or two ago. I hope JYJ will sell enormous amount of their music essays, (I will sure contribute to that 🙂 ), but will it be shown on Hanteo or Gaon?
I sure HM will get some youth fans ( they don’t know what real mean )because the song have some good beat and SM really try to high invest for qualify look cool, but with ppl more get focus about vocal and tought meaning like me don’t like it, I think (only my opinion), you can got high note it not mean you a good singer you must you own feeling, you own somthing special in your voice and HM CD did not show their yet outside music backrought and the song so hash whatever mean ( sorry for my poor english)

Yes, I think they keep underestimating how successful a product will be. This wasn’t even a proper album, just a bit of fan service in their eyes. They had no idea the it would become a symbol of fandom support. I’m glad they aren’t trying to rush it out and are taking the time to make sure everyone will get their money’s worth.

All this pre-sale fuss worries me, because pre-sales are not sales, and there are no less than 10.000 of unsold Their Rooms on GMarket at this moment. I hope we won’t get news later that pre-sales were huge but actual sales didn’t match up to the hype. Since the sales really mean a lot to JYJ, not only in terms of establishing their place but also in terms of income, and they need a big income to make it on their own, without a rich company backing them up.
Please, please everyone, buy their released stuff. Really, it’s not expensive. And if we compare the prices to japanese goods, it’s like for free almost >_<

This is an approx. number I got by viewing how many available copies are there for each seller while I was looking where to place my order. The unsold Intermodulation copies are about the same number, but there I can understand, the price is high, even if GMarket has it at the lowest price available, but from what I know even $50 is a huge amount for Koreans.
Anyways, the release date has been pushed a week furhter, I bet it will give many fans to calculate their possibilities and find the funds to buy Their Rooms. The songs are too good not to buy. I also hope they will sell the songs on Soribada, I want to buy them there for my iPod 🙂

When a retailer orders during pre-order they will get some for retail stock. If the 10,000 at GMarket sell, they will just have to order some more. There will always be “unsold” items, so they can have something to sell. 😀
To me 10,000 is a lot, but the could reflect how well their pre-order reservations have been doing.

It would make zero sense for g-market to not order enough to have on hand when the release date comes cause what good would it do them to be completely sold out? They’ll lose potential sales if that happens.
Exactly! But I think this difference is really confusing and what happened with “The Beginning”. The pre-orders were so good that the retailers stocked up. But then it was announced that it was “sold out,” i.e. the distributors didn’t have anymore of the edition, so the fans didn’t buy anymore and the stores were stuck with stock.
FANS! If you hear it’s “sold out” still check with your retailer, or a few of them. They will want to sell you things if they can. 😀

And it only took 2 months, compared to mirotic, the beginning sale can be considered as awesome. since it’s just 3 of them, and it’s their 1st english album, and the last, WITH NO PROMOTION at all 🙂 just wait. the beginning’s still available, so the number can increase 🙂

In regards to The Beginning, I read numbers “close to 400k” and “350k” in last year articles when they mentioned the sales. I wonder where the 509k number came out.
So far we only have confirmed Hanteo sales – 127.456 copies.
Because I had nothing to do, I went to GMarket and reviewed all sellers for The Beginning album. How many copies are available there:
Normal edition – 129
Limited edition – 125
New Special edition (all versions, with or w/o poster)~ 56.500
If they released 620k at all (520k + 100k for New Limited edition), and there are some unsold copies at many many retail/online shops, then the total sale might be 509k, but I’d like to see the proof first.
I tried to find Gaon 2010 results, but failed

This is only the number of available copies on GMarket. There are many sellers now offering Their Rooms there, at first there weren’t so many. I’m amazed at how many sellers pre-ordered the product, it shows their confidence they will be able to sell that many copies, or so I hope.

I so agree with Anya’s comment that being a good singer is not just a matter of having a good voice and hitting the notes. Even though i dont understand korean or japanese, i still can “feel’ the music when JYJ members sing whether as JYJ or when they were in TVXQ. this is what attracted me to their music in the first place. it is about having “heart and soul”.
