For the preparations of the new album, there seemed to be a big worry and burden associated with it. “We weren’t nice comers but it felt like we actually were,” the two members said. “We really missed the stage,” says Yunho. As the two of them appeared on stage for the first time for their comeback, they swelled with feelings such as, “I guess I was originally the kind of human being who was meant to be sing on stage.” They also said that after the broadcast had finished, they had been on the verge of tears.
And also more than anything, the two members had to work hard to perfect their harmony and fill the absence of the three members. Yunho wanted to continue to show Dong Bang Shin Gi’s music style in their new album too. A song that could make use of Changmin’s high voice and Yunho’s low voice was necessary, and that was how the song “Why? (Keep Your Head Down” was made to be. There were worries due to the fact that their voices were opposites to each other, but they explained that they were able to create a new colour in their music.
Up until now Changmin was put in many parts of songs when it was five member group, but this time Changmin said he chose the song by finding a way to revive the vocals of Yunho’ s and his. “I wanted to place emphasis on our personalities, an incorporated a song where diverse genres could be heard. This album is one that focuses on personality and harmony,” Changmin said, showing his confidence. There are instruments such as the gaya harp and traditional korean instruments, ballad and R’n’B songs, solos from the two members, that have been incorporated and compiled in this album.
The performance from the two members also turned out to be much more than just a punch. Yunho explained that it was only the two of them, but it didn’t seem like it, they seemed like twins but they weren’t twins, they seemed to have similar moves but it didn’t seem like their concept was to be similar. They wanted to show that the two members can continue with power, and they chose a choreography that expressed a more lively and masculine side of them.

We want to know what your plans are for this year
For the early part of the year, the worldwide album is be released in US, and we plan to promote the album, and are also planning a concert world tour. During this time, I plan to pick a good project, and to prepare for a shoot, go for more acting classes, and meet the viewers via a television drama at the second half of the year. At the moment, Junsu is working on the musical “Tears of Heaven” and JYJ overseas activities, and Jaejoong also has plans to do a drama for the second half of the year.
Are you happy recently?
Will what I say be considered boring? But recently, I have been living an interesting life. I cherish every little thing, and I am very happy.

You are currently in the midst of the lawsuit with SME. Due to various circumstances, your appearances and activities have been limited. If you had stayed in your original place, you wouldn’t be in such a difficult situation now, and you would still be standing on the stage in an untouchable position. It was such a level of glory, why did you give it up?
We had already decided to do it. I don’t deny that we gave up the glory. Standing at the top position, we never thought about such problems, we just want to continue performing for a longer time. (Not wanting the glory, just wanting to stay in this line for a longer time). Now, we just want to form a new family, while working.
Upon hearing that you would be acting, many people mocked, “Why are you even acting?” but now, everyone is looking forward to your next project. The anticipation towards “Actor Park Yoochun” has increased.
I’ve received a lot of drama and movie scripts, but I’ve not had the time to look through every book. I will not pick a project on impulse, but discuss the good projects with people around me before making a decision. This situation arose because of the popularity of “Sungkyunkwan Scandal.” (laughs)
You are still a newcomer at the moment, so it’s inevitable that people are more critical about your acting. I think that this necessary in your path to becoming a good actor. But towards your own acting, were there times that you got really mad?
Of course there were. While shooting “Sungkyunkwan Scandal,” I prepared a lot, but the director said that my acting skills were not up to par. Every time this happened, my mind would blank out. I really wanted to do well in front of the director, but when things did not go my way, I got really angry at myself.
[NEWS] 110105 SM-Mnet, Reconciliation Mood… Unfavorable for JYJ?
As signs of reconciliation between SM Entertainment (SM) and Mnet are appearing, speculations are arising as to whether JYJ, who have only recently begun promoting, will have less space to advance with their activities.
It was the first time in nine months when a song from a SM artist showed up on Mnet.com when U-Know Yunho and Choikang Changmin, from the newly revamped two-membered TVXQ, released their new song “Why” on the 3rd (of January). SM and MNet have been locked in a rocky* feud with one another in the past, eventually leading to a two year absence of SM artists from performing at MAMA, which Mnet hosts.
It is because of this reason that the newly released single from TVXQ is seen as steppingstone to reconciliation between the two parties, further raising speculations as to whether Girls Generation, SHINee, Super Junior and other SM artists will make future appearances on Mnet Countdown.
These recent developments between SM and Mnet are raising the possibilities of complicating JYJ’s future activities. Regardless of SM’s intentions in their actions, it is possible that their reconciliation with Mnet can make JYJ the victims*. It’s curious to see which decision Mnet, a giant in cable music programs, will make.
As of now, JYJ are not allowed to be on public music programs due to their situation with SM. The only exception to this so far has been their performance at the KBS Drama Awards where they sang a song from the Sungkyunkwan Scandal OST, in which Park Yoochun acted in.
An interested person from a music agency explained: “From SM’s stance, they are in a position where they can kill two birds with one stone. Releasing TVXQ’s song in Mnet Media can broaden the activities of their artists while simultaneously limiting a portion of JYJ’s activities.”
