[NEWS] 110131 Kim Junsu’s Musical Sells Out In Record Time

Kim Junsu’s perfrmances of the musical ‘Tears of Heaven’ were sold out in record time.

The last round of reservations were on the 31st at 11am, and all seats were sold out for Kim Junsu’s performances in 2 minutes and 30 seconds. This is a new record for musical ticket reservations.

As there were not many seats available (4500 seats) in this third and final round and as there were around 30,000 domestic hopefuls, with an addition of fans overseas, the reservations were expected to be a ‘ticket battle’ fiercer than any other.

The first round of reservations of 10,000 seats was sold out in 5 minutes and the second round of 13,000 seats was sold out in 3 minutes and 30 seconds. In this third round, 4,500 seats were sold out in 2 minutes and 30 seconds.

Kim Junsu set the record of selling out all 17 of his ‘Tears of Heaven’ performances of 27,500 seats.

The production company of ‘HanBanDo (The Korean Peninsula)’ released a statement regarding the rumors of Jang Dong Gun, Ha Ji Won and Kim Jaejoong starring in the new drama.

During a phone conversation on the 31th with Sports Today, a representative of the drama stated, “We heard of the news through online articles, but we’re still in discussion regarding the cast list and nothing has been confirmed yet.”

This representative also added that, “These actors know that they are being discussed for the respective roles. We think reporters chose a select few of all those being discussed to report,” and “We don’t know what to do because these reporters wrote articles that made it sound like actors are confirmed to appear when they’re not.”

On the 30th, ‘Sisa Magazine 2580’ aired an in depth report on the disputes between idols and their entertainment agencies as Kara’s proclamation to end their contract with their agency has brought up the controversy once more. The episode had garnered great attention before it aired for it was known that it would deal with JYJ’s situation as well, as they have been unable to appear on broadcasting channels due to their legal dispute after the disbandment of TVXQ.

At January 30th broadcast of MBC ‘News Magazine 2580′, the main topic surfaced was titled ‘JYJ and Kara, why are they?’, the topic focused and brought in recent ‘KARA situation’ and JYJ conflict with their former agency SM Entertainment in the spotlight.

JYJ Kim Junsu said, “We can not do our activities is a strange thing. As a Korean singer in South Korea yet being so difficult to stand on stage, this is the most unfortunate thing as a singer.”

JYJ Kim Junsu, Kim Jaejoong, and Park Yoochun applied provisional injunction against former agency SM Entertainment in 2009, and afterward they started to do activities under name JYJ.

However despite the popularity of JYJ as a group, due to interest relationship among SM Entertainment and many local broadcasters, they haven’t gotten proper air time in music program to do music activities ever since.

Meanwhile, ‘News Magazine 2580′ also analyzed the complicated structure of entertainment industry where many entertainment companies are placing bet by investing huge costs to their artists so that they can generate income for them. The continuous dispute between artists and their agencies that didn’t meet amicable results were put as the indicator.
