JYJ is now the biggest issue maker in Korea as proved by frequent appearance in not only korean portal but also international news sites. During past few days, the issue has become even hotter due to Qtv incidence, 2vxq TV appearance in knee drop guru and internet broadcasting station, etc. Sometimes, they even made on main, taking into an account how anxiously korean portal site pull down JYJ related articles, it is almost extraordinary.
All these happenings are not just by chance, though. Incidences of Qtv and 2vxq TV program signify how desperate SM is. On the other hand, JYJ internet broadcasting station is just a proof that JYJ fandom is now entering a new period of enforcement. Even more substantial is the evidence supported by each news dealing with Qtv or 2vxq issue, plainly being a manifestation of SM’s influence. In contrast, internet broadcasting station related news appear as a pure expression of pleasant surprises.
I was interestingly amused by prospects for enlarged scope of battle as well as changed attitude of media. As we know, this battle has become a fight between JYJ fandom and SM. Unlike the precedent cases, JYJ fandom has proved to be not tractable and created a new paradigm of korean pop culture. Judging from abundant news articles, columns and tweets posts coming out recently, it is evident that the scope of battle is no longer limited within JYJ fandom and SME, but extended as much b/w progressive opinion leaders advocating fairness of society and established power wanting to maintain unfair system. As much desirable outcome as it is, we feel it also beyond expectation ever perceived.
Now, our children (JYJ) has become an icon of resistance standing up to the unfairness of social system. Ironically, that outcome is greatly indebted to outrageous activity of SM more than JYJ or their fans. All we wanted was JYJ singing freely on stage, but SM fed up with no intelligence but arrogance has done a marvelous job making themselves an icon of unfair social system. Therefore, I judge that this battle is now beyond what SM could have dealt with. They now have to risk not only losing 3 talented laborers but also degradation of company image and ultimately diminished power. Only way for SM to withdraw with the least damage is being RATIONAL for the sake of company and its many young talents.
(comment 1) I agree. I know some fans are feeling uncomfortable about the appearance of conflict b/w social groups. However, it was exactly such a realization of defective social system which motivated me to be a hardcore fan because I wanna contribute for the kind of society in which I wish for my own children to live.
(comment 2) In history, revolution never meant to be as it turned out. It always started from small struggles, which was unexpectedly evolved into revolutionary path, through casual or intentional ALLIANCE. It should be kept in mind: what eventually made it possible was proper alliance b/w justifiable cause of individuals and constructive/POLITICAL force at its right timing. We are now the body of modern politics on the way of consumer’s revolution in cultural sector. We have not even taken out the final decisive card they fear the most. They better humbly take our advice to stop at this point.
(comment 3) I think it is now too late for SM to withdraw. Even many acquaintances of mine who used to laugh at my fangirling are becoming very interested in this issue.

DOWN!
I imagine this is bigger than the boys ever thought would happen! They trusted us, and it’s simply amazing what we all in the JYJ fandom have accomplished. Their trust was not misplaced! We will hold it until when or if ever they decide to stop. (‘Course I’m hoping for never!) ♫
And to think all this is happening because SME refused to simply change a few parts of the contract that, looking back now, seem so irrelevant…
History will be the judge of who was right and who was wrong.
LOL, so true.
lol aint life funny. Lessons SME should (but most probably wont) learn is ego can be self-destructive and treating your employees like shit is frowned upon by law and public.
When the dust settles, JYJ will be exonerated and some REAL changes would have been implemented by then.
All thanks to three boys who stood up for their rights and their fans who stood right behind them 🙂
SM could have taken the high ground by letting JYJ go gracefully and taking full credit for their development into superstars. They could have pitched aspiring stars on the big upside to working with SM. Now, not so much. They really do look desperate. Every move they make can now be and is being tracked. Don’t they understand that? Sooner or later their control will slip, and the internal leaks will start. At that point, they are deader than dead. I feel bad for the fans that don’t understand the meaning of “illegal contract”. What a rude surprise this will be for them as the situation plays out.
SM’s constant acts of aggession would be pathetic and laughable if it wasn’t for the fact that they have been so malicious and vindictive in nature. I agree, if they had taken the high road, or at the very least, realize that it was prudent just to move on after JYJ left them, things would not have escalated to this level. They started a war and now there’s no turning back. For me, I liked JYJ but would have never become so involved and interested if it wasn’t for me witnessing the constant blackballing antics engineered by SM. SM is now on my radar–and that’s not in a good way! I never used to purchase or be involved in any idol groups but with JYJ, and all that they have had to deal with, I am. I know right from wrong and what SM is doing is clearly sooo wrong and that is why I am on JYJ’s side as they continue to battle with SM. They can count on me and the countless dedicated JYJ fans. History will bear witness to the real truth.
JYJ will inevitably become immortalized for what they have accomplished so far, not only music-wise but also in regards to spearheading change in the current Korean entertainment industry. They have made themselves an inspiration to their fans and colleagues, and they will surge forward as respected artists in any field that they obviously can excell in. As for us fans, we will be known to be as strong as JYJ, if not stronger as we have become the driving force for all of these to happen.
Now it’s is up to other fans to decide. Will they keep on staying on the sidelines, will they keep on blinding themselves w/ false information, will they keep on hanging on to their twisted beliefs or will they be part of this miracle?
“SM could have taken the high ground by letting JYJ go gracefully and taking full credit for their development into superstars.”
That is what I was thinking exactly! If only they had agreed to either compromise with JYJ or just let them go in the first place, they could have continued to carry out their nefarious dealings in secret without public scrutiny. Now, they are under the public eye, which is a good thing in my opinion. I bet JYJ never intended to be the spear-headers for a social revolution in the Korean entertainment industry, they just wanted a fair deal. Whether they succeed or not, and they will, they will always be known as the trio who with their fans, shook up the entertainment industry.
I bet SM thought JYJ would fade into obscurity just like JTL. They underestimated the power of the fans and their determination to topple SM with it’s long history of manipulation and corruption. SM is too blame for creating such an amazing group that garnered the attention of amazing, loyal fans, now they are paying the price. They are also seeking to destroy the fandom with the current DBSK2 debacles. Good thing, JYJ family would not be swayed by such tactics!
JYJ/DBSK never predicted this, and definitely SM never thought it would propagate this fast and excessive. The JYJ articles must be very controversial-being taken down as quickly as they are put up- either from comments, or other parties involved.
I think this has escalated the way it has because fans took a stand/chose what to believe in. I mean, the petition submitted by DNBN in 09, being actually accepted probably showed fans they actually do have power, they only needed to know where to direct it to. Since then its been uphill, with the usual setbacks. Yoochun’s drama gave more ammunition in the fans department-ajummas-some of whom husbands got unknowingly involved, lol.
JYJ’s good relationship with the journalists/media has definitely helped a lot! Not to mention their courage to not fall prey.
I guess we have to thank SM?
yes.. I agree with Adjumas, it not simple like the breach of contract, now become fight for change all ent system, for with we believe about right and wrong in human life, for better future! event SM never think it will become like that ( they just think how they control their artics and keep their power in their kingdom)that why they are deperate!!really no fandom can compare with our now,we make history!!
Whoa who would’ve thought that DBSK, Korea’s top & biggest idol group would become SO BIG, SO POPULAR that their breakup (JYJ/HoMin)and lawsuit would create ALL of this. WE, JYJ Fans are seriously amazing, we have become so big and have shown our love and dedication for JYJ by fighting for them, when they can’t fight. JYJ Fandom will go down in history for showing what the power of fans can do! We are capable of anything for our boys & for justice and the truth to be known!!! JYJ & JYJ FANS FIGHTING!!!!
❤ Yes!
JYJ & JYJ FANS FIGHTING!!!
i know that there are some fans that are frustrated because they arent seeing the results they hope to witness but it will take some time. this fandom and the guys are slowly but surely creating history and because of that i can proudly say im a JYJ fan. SM will one day look back at their stupidty and wonder why they just didnt take the easy road instead of complicating things for them. i used to consider myself a cassie but as time went by i noticed the things SM were doing to damage JYJ, it was the other two guys that finally made me pick a side. i couldnt sit there and watch JYJ going through some many hurdles, and i hurt to see them down too. the fans have done alot and if we do more im sure we will finally get the results we want to see.
:’)
I’m so proud of them. so proud of them. So proud of them.
So proud of our JYJ. So proud of family. So proud of them beyond words.
So proud of them. nuf said. :’)
The number of articles over the past few days with regard to everything that has been happening is a sign that people are starting to pay attention. Just how many people, no one knows, but at least it’s being written and reported about. There are effects, and though they may be little right now, it just means that the fans are going in the right direction in getting their views out there and creating awareness.
Change doesn’t happen overnight. I’m willing to wait no matter how long it takes.
I like that the article emphasized that it is primarily the JYJ fans vs SME. JYJ has been very careful not to antagonize the beast and has been saving all the fighting for the courtroom. I think this has been very smart because they can’t be accused of…. I can’t think of anything, but I’m sure SME could.
The fans voicing their displeasure of SME is far more powerful. These are SME’s customers and, given JYJ’s fanbase’s broadening demographics, a reflection of society at large. Their collective voices will carry far more weight than even the most popular celebrity.
JJ once said in the interview ealier he hoped that the lawsuit would creat ‘a good talk’ not ‘a bad talk’ they had earlier in the days (triators and such) and he apologized for that. So at this point, I think it reaches the point where it becomes a common society concerns not just idols’ concerns for people to have ‘a good talk’ now.
Thanks to SME and their gangs as they gang up on JYJ, people from all walks of life start voicing out their opinions, not just fans…
Karma, baby, karma!
Slowly but surely, SM is feeling the effects of all the evil deeds they had done.
And I’ll be here to witness that.
Muahahahahaha~~
So with this spirit, please promote and participate in Operation American Dream (posted on front page of jyj3)!!!! ^0^
Junsu’s essay dedicated to us all:
Hi friends
Will you listen to our story?
We were kids with lots of dreams.
We really loved singing
And we genuinely wanted to
meet many friends through our songs.
Through all the white nights in the recording studio that we spent drenched in sweat and all that practice
There were people by our sides who struggled alongside us like family
And we made lots of friends.
Finally we were able to see with our eyes and touch with our hands
the fruits of all that blood and sweat.
Taking care that our actions wouldn’t hurt the hearts of our family
we acted even more carefully and followed every word they said.
Our family always told us,
Don’t let your gaze wander to the outside world, and stop your ears to its sounds.
That all is selfishness, all are lies.
Then one day
we found out so many truths.
As boys in men’s bodies we were so confused
and we couldn’t stop the ever-building anger inside us.
We had become adults before we were even aware of it.
Although we were told not to look to the outside world we saw, though we were told not to hear we listened.
We were of the age to differentiate between truths and lies.
The people we had thought of as family
suddenly revealed themselves to not be the family we thought of.
Our hearts were bruised and our minds became diseased.
We couldn’t trust anyone
We had twisted into things beyond our imagination.
We had changed, lost dreams,
we finally saw that for ourselves.
The place we have to be at is not here.
There must be a brighter and wider world out there.
If there isn’t, we’ll make that place with our songs.
We divested ourselves of the ‘family that is not family’
and sought to take on new companions.
Companions who could save our dreams
and heal the scars on our souls.
We are in the process of meeting those companions.
Our friends became our family
And we suddenly had a new, overflowing family.
Although those who used to be family turned their backs
With the help of our new family
we were able to sing again.
The day I was able to sing again
I couldn’t stop the tears.
I became overtaken with the desire to write and sing songs again.
At the moment we are only able to meet our family through the stage
but our hearts are filled with love for them.
I know now,
That there is a world where one can love another, can trust another
and have the hope to dream.
Our current family is filled with love and faith
And so our story will continue.
You’ll stick around to hear our story, right!
what a great composition.. Heartfelt and sincere..
the simplicity of this essay makes it more beautiful…
we will always be here JUNSU… always be here for JYJ..
thanks Jimmie
You bet we’ll stick around! JYJ’s fans are not fair weather friends. What a lovely and heart-felt composition.
JYJ and JYJ Family Fighting!!!
thank you Jimmie! I eard it before and this really stuck in my head for long!!sad…brokenheart!
Yoochun ever said that Junsu is always the optimistic one. Now I think he is 100% right. JYJ keep on “fighting”, we will be with you all the way!!!
Oh, Junsu-yah… we will stay beside the three of you forever! ^_____^
WE will be your family. We will listen to your stories, and hear your songs…
I love this family that we have.
And I will never let go!
It’s called synergy. The right time, at the right place, for the right reasons. The Universe is acknowledging it is here and now.
As has been said, JYJ just wanted out of the contract to go their own way. Thank you for the step up, but it is time for us to part company. All SME had to do was either compromise or graciously say goodbye. But no…they had to come on like an ogre, and try and eat them up, chew them up, and then spit them out.
“There are none so blind, as those who refuse to see.”
SME, you are the ones who bit off more than you can chew. Not only that, but you chose to chew with your mouth full. That’s really bad manners. Stay classy why don’t you.
History is hard for some folks to learn. When you don’t learn from past mistakes, you are in danger of repeating them. Each and every time they engaged by this manner brought them closer to the brink.
I for one, am glad it is finally coming to a head. The change that will come one day will bring a breath of fresh air to the Korean music industry. There is no reason to fear that it can’t continue. It just can’t continue the way it has been. Change is good if you take it the right way, and put it to good use.
What JYJ and the fans of JYJ can be most proud of is that through it all, the high road was taken. Taking the high road meant more integrity, accountability, and truth. One does not have to hide behind truth, you stand next to truth, side by side.
Like others, I am proud to be a part of this family of fans.
I agree.
When a man is in power for too long, he thinks he creates the world.
Yes, you are right!!! He behaves like dictator!!! However he forgets that, all world’ dictators, have bad endings….
I’m actually really excited for when Shinhwa all end up in the same place at the same time. And I don’t even know the group that well, other than that they went through the same thing. I think combining these two forces, both ex-SME artists, could be the one-two punch that might knock SME on its ass.
Talk about an awesome concert! That would be absolutely mindboggling. If that were to happen, oh to be a fly on the wall in the conference room at SME. 🙂
I wasn’t even considering a concert. I was thinking of just friendly support, a handshake at a photo-op, saying nice things in interviews. Maybe the occasional guest appearance of a member at the other group’s performance? I don’t think it would take much to make it very uncomfortable at SME.
@Eliza
” I don’t think it would take much to make it very uncomfortable at SME.”
Well in that case, a little bit goes a long way. 🙂
“There are none so blind, as those who refuse to see.”
I just love those words~ ^^
What good comments.
I agree too that none of us knew it
would get this big and important. It opened
the gates to oblivion that SME for YEARS have
locked with a magical key and place Cerberus to guard.
SME, JYJ, TVXQ, the fans.
This is new territory we’re crossing here.
It has been tracked but never have we gone this far.
I hope our first try into this new territory we make little mistakes but there will be some.
JYJ keep singing and we will keep fighting so that you can sing.
” It openedthe gates to oblivion that SME for YEARS have
locked with a magical key and place Cerberus to guard”. << Brilliant xD
The battle of Helm’s Deep is over; the battle for Middle Earth is about to begin.!!!!!<< Gandalf
JYJers fighting!
. A day may come when the courage of men fails, when we forsake our friends and break all bonds of fellowship, but it is not this day. An hour of woes and shattered shields, when the age of men comes crashing down! But it is not this day! This day we fight! << Aragorn
Oh Lord of the Ring again!! lol^^
I really like Gandalf..
My JJ legolas!!
he does look like legolas
He’s got an etherial air just like legolas
wow…
It’s like the original writer can read my mind ← or I could read hers haha~~
Totally says what I want to say!
SM would have solve the whole problem much more appealing to its costumers, but it chose not to and did everything it can to blackmail and degrade JYJ, which showed nothing else than how sick its operating mentally is. Simply look at how it handles the issue on a business prospective, I have to pity how unprofessional the company was in every move it took.
And they turned our boys into heroes, how ironic.
WELL SPOKEN.THAT THE OUTCOME FROM THIS MESS,BE FOR THE BETTERMENT OF SOCIETY AS A WHOLE.MORE THAN EVER WE’LL SEE HOW POWERFUL MUSIC CAN BE IN THIS ISSUE OF UNJUSTICE AND THAT JYJ’S SITUATION LET SHADE LIGHT ON THIS MAKES ME EXTREMELY PROUD TO BE NOW AND FOREVER THEIR FAN…
In fact it was the aggressive attitude of the SME that drove me to make a choice.
If they had continued their civil case without trying to shift the blame to JYJ disseminating falsehoods to which we have witnessed, the situation would be different and perhaps we could continue to believe in a return of the combined group.
The truth behind the separation of TVXQ is SME’s greed and immodesty. Now the result of the lawsuit is indifferent for me, because anyway SME has already lost respect, money, 3 talented boys and the facade of the happy little family.
Things have gone too far and the motto “Always keep the faith” for me has come to mean to have the hope of seeing JYJ on a stage or a television broadcast.
At this point a reconciliation with the other 2 could be only after something like a miracle and those who have to keep the head down and apologize must be Homin.
*nods*
and i also agree that “Always Keep the Faith” does have a different meaning for me now too…
like seeing JYJ appearing on TV programs freely, as you have mentioned. ^^
I wonder what really meant the fan in the second comment when she said this:
“We have not even taken out the final decisive card they fear the most.”
I´m really curious what this can be. 🙂
Ahjumma fans are surely amazing. ^^
i have a guess what it’ll be XD i have seen korean ahjummas angry side~~~it’s involve with the police XD so yeah SME should watch out~
That video came into my mind too. 😀
But she sounded like they are hiding something bigger. I´m dying of curiosity. ^^
@menyus
That comment struck me as well. For some silly reason, it brought a big smile to my face. I let my imagination run wild and all kinds of thoughts started racing. 🙂
Glad to know I’m not the only one who had it pop out like that. Now I can’t wait to find out what it is. It’s almost like a teaser at the end of a final season of something, and you have to wait for the new one to begin. Like on ‘Dallas’ years ago, and everyone wanted to know who shot J.R.
Me too! She sounds so sure of herself! Like there is really an ultimate card which would destroy SM´s struggles. And that sounds really promising. ^^
I can´t wait either. 🙂
Btw nice association. xD
The thing to remember is that these women control the money for the household. They know where their power lies.
@menyus
That image was the FIRST thing that appeared. I don’t recall any other cliff hanger that had the impact of that one. So, if this one matches that, IT WILL MAKE MY DAY!
@Eliza
Why do men tend to forget that ‘little’ fact? 🙂 Oh yes, they tend to spend too much time sniffing their testosterone, it has a mind numbing effect.
yeah, i’m also sick being bashing over homin fans. They really dont show manners and keep on judging js,jj&yc badly and saying we got blind 0r def toward JYJ.. I keep wonder who are the real blind one?? Sometimes I realize I’m wrong and i should never encounter all TVXQ and insted just focus on JYJ..
I WILL FOCUS ON JUST JAEJOONG,YOOCHUN&JUNSU FROM NOW ON!! JYJ gambate ne..daisuki dayoo..
lantak pegi la homin& peminat yg talam dua muka tu..malas nak layan dah!!
