This came to light because there were some legal proceedings in 2006 to make the Kim’s adoption official. He was on the register under both his birth name and adopted name which would have caused some real trouble re: military service. There was a paternity test to prove that he was the person registered as Mr Han’s son, but as far as I know that was the only contact they’ve had. There have been pictures released of him with his birth mom and siblings.

That’s true. He knows his birth mother and siblings.
No its not a rumor…he was adopted by the Kim family when he was little so they’re his adoptive family. His real last name was Han before it was Kim.

Somewhere I read there was a legal fight for his custody around 2003, between Kim family and Mr.Han. Obviously, Kim family won.
