Jaejoong truly deserves these expensive gifts, and all of them are spectacular except for one. Don’t misunderstand me, but among these beautiful and full of love gifts is one gift that is absolutely non proper: The Calvin Klein underwear. The only gift that one, as a girl, must never give to a young man, even if he is one’s boyfriend, is underwear. It is a social rule in my country. The only man I’m allowed socially to give him underwear as a gift is my husband, or my sons, of course. And it applies equally on the contrary; underwear as a gift from a boy to a girl. Absolutely non proper.

I’m pretty sure that (non-proper act of giving a guy underwear/underpants) applies to my country as well, but giving the idols underwears as gifts has been pretty much a “tradition” in Korea. Forgive me (and correct me) if I’m mistaken but that’s like one of the most common stuff fans give to them. During the old days they (JYJ) said in a couple of TV shows where they shared underwears between members and if my memory serves me correct JJ said something about red underwear that fan gave him (something like he liked the color red since it represents Cassies or he mistook the red underwear as his, I can’t remember, sorry) So pretty much they don’t really care (?) about getting underwear as gifts or talk about it in TV shows.
I am a fan of Jang Geun Seuk as well, and in one of the videos he did, he even mentioned (and showed irl) his underwear’s size since the fans got him the wrong one. So I guess it’s not NON proper =)
Ya.. doubt it’s the first time our boys received such gifts.. lol.. the fans will give them anything if possible..
And… our boys actually use them.. 🙂
In Korea it is not unproper. I don’t know what the reasoning behind it is but when one starts their first job, and gets their first paycheck one buys underwear for the rest of the family members.
Girls, if it’s a korean tradition, ¡GO ON! For my part, for sure I would look for something more representative, something that expresses my respect and what I feel for JYJ or for JJ in this case, and something that makes me feel comfortable and happy to share with them.
Through these little things we’re able to notice the differences between cultures, which are very respectable.

“under my skin” 😀 With all the fuss about it, I’m surprised no one has asked that yet.
The expression is both positive and negative depending how it’s used. When you’re annoyed and say, “She really gets under my skin,” you mean she’s irritating you. Like a thorn that is under the skin, sore and itchy.
But the good way implies that the person is closer to you than your own skin. There is a song written Cole Porter that has become a classic:

There there is something in between. It’s often used when feeling hit you by surprise. “He’s got under my skin. I can’t stop thinking about him.” There’s usually some irritation at that, but it’s not all bad.
I don’t know why it was censored. For me, it balanced the rest of the chorus which was pretty aggressive. It showed that he felt just as helpless as he wanted to make her.

I guess different places have different views on that. But I’m not complaining 😀 Personally I think that’s how fans show their affection to the artist. In my country giving your fav artists clothes for gifts are very rare. That’s already saying that you admire this person so so much. Maybe in Korea giving clothes is too common, so they wanna take it to a higher level :p

Apart from the fact that he’s an angel (^___^), he is the most popular Korean artist… everything he does or even something he’s link to actually become newsworthy.
Those devils are afraid that once Jae is “released”, a huge wave of Jae-sunami will hit their shores!
So I believe that they are trying their very best to block him. 😦

Yes….it’s a very expensive piano.. kinda like the LV of handbags, but sadly, the piano remains in SM..
All boys received lots of gifts but they always tell their fans to donate money to charities instead. 🙂

China’s Hero JJ Bar gave a very expensive grand piano to Jaejoong as brithday gift in 2007, because it was too huge, and couldn’t get into the TVXQ’s dorm, so it was put in the SM company.

I don’t know about Junsu’s piano, but talking about the piano remains in SM, I could only think of the “PETROF IV/PE3” Hero JJ Baidu Bar gave to Jaejoong on April 2007. It appeared in two clips, one is one of the SNSD girl playing the piano in SM, another is in TVXQ’s non-smoking commercial the boys made in the end of 2008.
I know this cause I helped the funds to buy the piano, actually, I’m not supposed to tell this on the net, cause we promised to SM that we wouldn’t tell, since as a gift, the piano was too expensive, both the fans and SM didn’t want the media to know at the time.
but, now, so many years passed, and this is a English site, so I think its ok, but still pissed that the piano most probably remains in SM. SM promised that no one would touch the piano but Jaejoong, the company is a big fat liar always!!

that gift is from picnicxiah. it’s given to junsu after the lawsuit (inspired by Junsu’s appearance on Mozart and Piano battle with Taeyang). so it’s a No SM related.

I still find this level of gift giving to be seriously creepy. Obviously it’s a cultural thing, but it feels so intrusive to me, particularly personal items like clothes and scents. My rule is that you don’t buy someone perfume or panties unless you’ve seen that person put them on.
(I know the boys don’t feel this way, it’s purely my personal reaction.)
Ahh… In my part of the world, the act of giving clothing and the like is a very common practice because it’s very pragmatic, plus we have a common saying that goes something like ‘三餐吃，衣服穿 ‘ which means having 3 meals and having cloths to wear is all someone needs to have a good life. (the Chinese phrase above is incomplete ^^)
Another thing to note would be that you would not see us (Chinese) giving people sandals or slippers because we only give them to the dead, a send off to the nether world if you will ^o^
