The Prain executive Lee Jaeun tweeted the following today (see here):
[In response to a fan’s question regarding the fact that the date of the gala is the date of the Pusan concerts] That is why Jaejoong cannot be an executive director and is only directing a part of the show (including the gala show of Yeonjae), and so this will not cause a problem for the concert!
It seems that Jaejoong is actually part of the Directing Team of the entire LG Whisen Rhythmic All Stars 2011 who happens to, among many other duties, be in charge of Sohn Yeonjae’s gala show. In other words, Jaejoong is likely in collaboration as a team member of the entire LG Whisen Rhythmic All Stars event, which is an event of gargantuan proportions– the top athletes of the rhythmic gymnastics world will come to Korea (for the first time, for many) to participate. See the below article for a perspective of the scale of this event and Jaejoong’s role in it.
^__^ Wow Jaejoong~~<3

World Ranking #1 in Rhythmic Gymnastics Yevgeniya Kanayeva (21, Russia) steps on Korean soil again for the first time in two years.
IB Sports revealed on the 21st (of April) that the cast of the “LG-Whisen Rhythmic All Stars 2011” has been finalized. Sohn Yeonjae, the bronze medalist of the Guangzhou Asian Games, will appear, and also Kanayeva and other such active/current stars of the field of rhythmic gymnastics will all mobilize.
Kanayeva is the gold medalist of the 2008 Beijing Olympics and recorded #1 in the World Rankings for the 2010 season. She has participated in September of 2009 in the Hyundae-Invitational World Gymnastics Gala that was held in Jamshil Stadium.
Furthermore, Daria Kondakova (Russia) is renowned for her intense and explosive performance. Anna Bessonova is regarded to have subliminated rhythmic gymnastics into beauty.
In particular, it is the first visit to Korea for Bessonova, who has the intense charisma and the ability to overpower the audience, and all eyes and ears are concentrating. Furthermore, the rising star of Ukraine Alina Maksymenko and the top world groups – Russia and Ukraine – also plan to participate.
Other than this, the members of the national team such as Lee Kyunghwa and Kim Yunhee also attend.
IB Sports which is holding the event explained: “As the top ranked athletes of the world are all gathering, we are going to form a directing team of the best caliber that can make their abilities shine even more splendidly and make born an masterpiece performance that cannot be missed through the fusing of other cultural contents such as jazz, pop, and classical music.
Sohn Yeonjae who is devoting herself to training for the World Championships in Russia revealed her excitement for this gala show: “I think it will be a great opportunity to expose rhythmic gymnastics. Through the gala show with the top international athletes, I hope that in Korea the field of rhythmic gymnastics will receive much attention and support. I feel that it is an honor to be able to stand on the same stage with the very top athletes whom I respect, such as Bessonova and Kanayeva, and others.”
The “LG Whisen Rhythmic All Stars 2011” is a two-day performance and will be held for two days starting June 11 in the special stage of the Seoul Sungbook Ku Koryo University Hwajeong Gymnasium.

Ah~ It’s a great opportunity for him to meet new people, and this can help further develop his directing skills ^_^
I still wonder how dd they actually invite our JJ to be part of this team and who raised the opinion to get him and why….
I know our sweetie is good ….. I’m just curious……
Probably through connections. Jaejoong knows a lot of people and someone he’s close to most likely gave a good word on him. It could be the CEO or the chairman of Prain who got him the job.
Yeonjae has hired Prain also. Prain is the connection ^____^
I like Anna Bessanova’s outfit – I love purple. So Jaejoongie’s part of a directorial team for this huge show? Wow!! Go Jae, go!! 😛 Make us proud. Well, you make us proud just by existing…but we also like being smug at sm /avex’s expense too! 😉
AMEN.
By just existing~! YES!
I like her outfit too. And I am really proud of our Joongie!
Ooh what an amazing opportunity for Jae!! So impressive ^_^ Director Kim fighting ~
Still Prouddddd to Director Kim..
I think it’s funny that SM got Yunho in as a judge in Kim Yuna’s show and Jaejoong “is actually part of the Directing Team of the entire LG Whisen Rhythmic All Stars 2011 who happens to, among many other duties, be in charge of Sohn Yeonjae’s gala show. In other words, Jaejoong is likely in collaboration as a team member of the entire LG Whisen Rhythmic All Stars event…”
Coincidence? Yes? No? Dunoo…just find it f(ishy)unny 😀
@Bluefyre
Ooooohhh….conspiracy theory??!!! 😉
Heheheh~! Directing is hands on… I was an assistant director for my University’s Drama and god, it was so damn difficult! So, you can always be a judge, but you cannot be a director. Just saying. Nothing implied… LOL
Imma go now, Twinnie~!!! see u later!!! love u~!!!
NOOOOOOOOO…..Don ‘t goooooooooo….”I can’t live if living is without you….” ♥
Oh? so Yunho will see an output of Jae as a director. Hmmm…
@heddlekate
Hmmmmmmm….!
a part of me wishes that Yunho will realize that it’s way better that HoMin leaves SM. ^^ Not a fan of HoMin but I am a fan of OT5.
All the things happening right now, including the recognition Jae’s directing skills is receiving, wouldn’t be happening if JYJ haven’t left SM. SM is practically the opposite of an artist’s freedom.
I can foresee some creatures starting to suggest Jae will me his “lover” through this event, stuff like the *ahem* is real etc…
what’s the connection between yunho being a judge on the kim yuna show with jae’s directing stint with LG?? are they the same show?
i thought yunho is a participant or one of the contestants not a judge?? Sorry if im wrong i dont really know anything i just got the info in twitter..
Wow! Bravo, Jae Joong! You never cease to amaze me and that is what I like about you the most! Way to go, Tenshi! Good Luck!
As an amateur director, this is really a huge break for Jae, and as he said before, he learns so much from people, some members of the directing team are already well exposed and polished on this field, so having Jae acquainted with them is just like taking a workshop or crash-course on directorship. It really amazes me how Jae is exploring new field, being as good-looking as he is with that soul-melting voice is more than enough, but he doesn’t stop there. He keeps on bringing out the best in him, maximizing every opportunity to learn more and grow.
I don’t know if this is JYJ’s master plan as a team, to branch out, to reach different sectors of society. If they can’t be shown in tv, then they show themselves in different medium. I’m sure another set of fans will emerge from this kind of exposure.
I feel like a very proud mom, my eldest son on his new quest as a director, my middle son is busy with his drama, and my youngest very cute son with his Mozart (what a fantasy to be their mom lol, I think i’m having only a few competition on this fantasy, so the majority on this sites will be my daughters-in-law)….and to think that their Canada/US concerts are getting near…
@kris
Hey mummy-in-law *waves*!! 😛
I don’t know if this is a master plan or if they are winging it by the seat of their pants – where Jae in particular is concerned, neither of those options would surprise me!
@ Sapphie..
Cheers to my first daughter-n-law, you’re a noted Jae’s …and the line seems endless, so better be a mom (in disguise, keke, coz i’m also a Jae-biased but the competition is so fierce) and to be a mom, it’s not a sin to have the three of them!
Mom-in-law!! ^____________^
LOL Man I totally know how you feel! I am also so proud of them and much so because I, as many others, have watched them grow, from teenagers to men. I really hope they achieve all their dreams and goals, cause for the three of them the sky’s the limit.
even if he’s involved ‘only’ a part of it, i still proud. he can learn from his other directing team members, who i believe well known people.he need more experience n learn from proffesionals, and this one (of many, i hope) of his chance to learn. really, i am proud so much!!!
i can’t say anything except Proud…….really proud to him and it’s his opportunities for learn many things from another directing team members who has be proffesional 🙂
when I first read about this (Jae being in the directing team for this event), I was so proud that I cried. Hahahaha very overwhelming for me, I guess. ^^
“A directive team of the best caliber”. And Jaejoong seems to be an important part of it. ¡JJ IS THE BEST! I’m very very proud of my beautiful boy Jaejoong.
lol Finally JJ and Russians are in one article xDD
Sorry, I couldn’t help myself xD
Our talented Jaejoong shines through!
I’m happy for Jaejoong! Hopefully he can pull off great work to show that he really does have talent at directing and go BEYOND his “connections.”
Prove yourself well, Jaejoong!!!!!!!
I’m rooting for you!
I’m from Russia and big fan of Rhythmic Gymnastics. The queen of gymnastics is Alina Kabaeva, Evgeniya Kanaeva is just a princess. But still I’m so happy that two my loves will be in the same place =)
