[OPINION] Jaejoong’s Invitation as a Director in Professional Capacity for such an Important Stage has Great Meaning

Jaejoong is actually a part of the Directing Team for the entire LG-Whisen Rhythmic All Stars 2011, with Sohn Yeonjae’s gala being one of his many responsibilities (see here)– which makes this article’s points stronger.

The Meaning of JYJ Kim Jaejoong’s Directing of Sohn Yeonjae’s Gala Show

JYJ’s Kim Jaejong is directing the queen of rhythmic gymnastics Sohn Yeonjae’s first gala show. That Jaejoong, who himself designed and directed JYJ’s performance stages and thus became the talk of the town, has come to direct performances as a professional/expert has large implications. Also, as it is a meeting with Sohn Yeonjae who dreams of being the post – Kim Yeona (T/N: top-ranked figure skater), it seems that the impact/effect will become even larger.

We are curious about Kim Jaejoong’s Future, who has boasted talents that are many-sided.

It can be said that in figure skating there is Kim Yeona and in rhythmic gymnastics there is Sohn Yeonjae—these two who are equipped with the skills that are at the highest level in Korea and also popularity are understood to be “blue chips” in a variety of fields. As recently Kim Yeona’s gala show received the praises of many and was a great success, there is much attention being paid to Sohn Yeonjae’s gala show as well.

That top international stars of figure skating participated in Kim Yeona’s show to capture the fans in a splendid way was broadcasted through SBS and received heated cheers from many. It is not an exaggeration to say that figure skating which was no different from a wasteland acquired the status it has today through Kim Yeona—through her the recognition of figure skating heightened drastically and the number of young children entering into the field has also increased.

Sohn Yeonjae is in many ways similar to Kim Yeona in that due to her abilities and inborn attractiveness she is receiving the attention of the public. Even though, of course this is more her agency IB Sports’ choice rather than Sohn Yeonjae’s choice. As those in the know already know, IB Sports is the former agency of Kim Yeona. Also, it is a sports-specialized management corporation that created an Armageddon with its enormous funding, by doing such things as winning the broadcast rights to the Major League Baseball games against the 3 public television stations.

Even though it wavered as it parted with Kim Yeona, it announced its new beginning by recruiting Sohn Yeonjae and other various sports stars. Because already the level of its management of its sports-stars which it brought up with Kim Yeona is outstanding, Sohn Yeonjae’s first gala show cannot help but be important in IB Sports.

That is because even though for her this is her first gala show, it is an important stage that determines whether she can expand her public recognition as a sports star. Furthermore, this stage cannot help but be the stage of dreams for those who like rhythmic gymnastics because it is one that brings together the stars with the top abilities from all the world. That Kim Jaejoong was selected to be the director of this performance means that his abilities are that much recognized.

Kim Jaejoong revealed that in the LG Whisen Rhythmic All Stars that will be held on June 11 and 12 in Seoul Koryo University Hwajung Gymnastium’s Special Stage, he will direct the selection and the arrangement of music, stage effects, choreography, costumes, and styling. It is not an exaggeration to say that almost the entirety of Sohn Yeonjae’s performance will be formed by Kim Jaejoong’s hands.

As the sponsor revealed, its aspirations to invite experts of a variety of genres to direct a dignified but also exciting atmosphere for the expansion of rhythmic gymnastics can be seen as having been completed through Kim Jaejoong’s participation. For those who wish to criticize, Kim Jaejoong may be understood to be merely a being that lends/sells his face. But in the world of thoroughly calculating professionals, there is no fool who entrusts a heavy responsibility to someone who does not make it in terms of abilities.

That Kim Jaejoong has been selected to create a splendid stage with the top domestic experts such as the music director Han Jungrim and the choreography director Kno Jiyeon means that it is not an exaggeration to say that the sponsor saw Kim Jaejoong as being on the same level as these other experts. We cannot know as of yet just what kind of stage will be shown but in just looking at each and every one of the experts that have been revealed to participate, it is certain that it will be fantastic.

It is to the degree that JYJ, which should announce its “non-idol”-ness, cannot be guessed as to just how far it will go. Kim Jaejoong, who displays outstanding abilities in not merely singing and acting but also in stage directing, seems to be able to show a more mature and progressed product through this gala show of Sohn Yeonjae.
