KBS is severely criticized for its remarks regarding JYJ.
On May 17, 2011, KBS posted a response to a post titled ‘Request for an explanation why JYJ cannot appear on <Music Bank>’ on on KBS’s online production crew message board[on their official website.]
KBS remarked, ‘JYJ have been in the process of lawsuit with their former management company[SM], so KBS is closely monitoring the result of the lawsuit from an objective standpoint. It could influence on the current case if celebrities under lawsuit who is in the legal disputes appear on TV.”
JYJ instantly refuted this argument saying, “in the case of lawsuit that KBS has made an issue of, the court already ruled last year that SM’s subordinate contract with JYJ was invalid as the court judged that the contract was unilateral and unfair to JYJ.” They also emphasized that the court has acknowledged SM’s interference with JYJ’s activities and have been issued an indirect compulsory order.
Those in the judicial circles point out that KBS’s argument has many rooms for misunderstanding. Regarding SM’s insistence about ‘dual-contract,’ the court ruled that ‘in accordance with the judgment from the provisional injunction, SM, at this point in time, do not have any authorities to manage and/or administer the duration of the contract in Kim Jaejoong, Park Yuchun, and Kim Junsu’s entertainment activities regardless of the validity of contract.”
JYJ has been active as honorary ambassadors of various government-run projects as the ‘faces of Korea.’ On April 21, they were appointed as honorary ambassadors for World OKTA (World Overseas Korean Trader’s Association) with President Lee Myung Bak present at the ceremony. Moreover, they have also been appointed as the honorary ambassador for selection of Jeju Island for New 7 Wonders of Nature on May 3. Dominant opinions say that the fact KBS, the state-run public broadcasting company, singled out JYJ as figures who could ‘hinder development of culture industry and hold risks of obstructing order’ has gone too far.
Kim Jaejoong, Kim Junsu, and Park Yuchun have filed for a provisional injunction to invalidate the exclusive contract, and started their activities as JYJ after signing an one-off contract for business commission. Since then, theories about external pressure have were raised as JYJ’s appearances on not only music programs but entertainment variety programs such as <Win Win> and <Come To Play> were cancelled for all three major broadcasting companies.
Under these circumstances, KBS’s statement that contradicts the basic facts and the court’s judgments just resulted in incurring more resentment from the fans.

If the Korean fans did a boycott of all three major stations for their music shows it may bring results. I wish they would try this. In the US CBS was boycotted due to the firing of an actress on one of their major Prime Time shows. Low and behold, tonight on it’s final season episode we fans learned the Actress will be returning next season. Korean fans need to get tougher, and consumers who have satellite dishes should cancel their programming until JYJ comes back on TV.

I’m actually not bothered about JYJ not being able to appear in Music Bank or any other show. They haven’t been appearing much actually(They have yet to appear).. What bothered me is for KBS to call JYJ “a HINDRANCE to the development of their cultural industry” and for them to “SINGLE OUT JYJ alone”.
it’s like nitpicking when there are other artists having their own lawsuits.. the only cultural industry that i can see where JYJ has been a huge thorn is the monopolized entertainment industry culture.. if JYJ become successful on their own, it gives musicians/idols options to acquire services of companies like C-JES instead of letting some huge company take over your life as if you were bought and have lost identity/individuality to acquire the “concept” these management labels are forcing this kids to chugged down
well said… this manipulative industry should be changed or better yet be abolished and turn into dust.. They show it like, 3 individual became a triple threat to the entire HALLYU WAVE.. I think all of those people around JYJ are/were just afraid about the change JYJ can bring to their so called cultural industry..
That is what these big companies are afraid of. Can you imagine what will happen when this lawsuit ends and JYJ wins? I think you will see a lot more of these singers going out to these smaller companies where they have more creative freedom and say in their careers.

JYJ should have their rights restored to them. They may not want to go back to music shows, but it should be their choice. This doesn’t only affect music shows, it’s all TV shows it seems. Yoochun should be able to promote his drama, and what will happen in the future if Junsu or JJ can’t get on TV for one reason or another.

Sorry to be saying this, but after reading the KBS statement (and the news article above), I can’t help but recall what CM said in that Taxi interview that “they were the ones who did not disrupt the social order.” (whcih means???)
That statement strangely echoes this whole BS from KBS and, by deduction, from SM, KFPCAI, and everyone else who made a statement that JYJ harms the Hallyu image. This makes me think that only the same idiotic team from this obvious collusion can come up with this garbage they keep passing off as “truth.”
And that swipe against JYJ being anti-hallyu? That is another convenient-albeit illogical-argument against JYJ that could have appealed to the Korean collectivist society. Screams inside my head…Cools down…and starts. This morning I woke up ready to do to work, but I couldn’t take a shower before checking Twitter and jyj3 (I know, I am obsessed. Let me be). And then, the Twitterworld was a buzz with a crisis. Asked some fellow jyj family on twitter what was going on and heard that this entity and that entity funded by the national gov’t spoke w/o thinking. Where is the PR department when you need one?
What to do? I needed to go to work, so I jumped in the shower thinking that JYJ family is too smart, and they will protect the boys intelligently. Got out the shower, and tweeted a couple of notes: “If we do something, let’s do it smartly and intelligently, with facts and proofs” sort of speak.
Went to work and kept up jyj3, allkpop, sharingyuchun, etc. The entity realized what they did, or the PR and Legal department came to work, because they changed their opinion. Fans were upset, and rightfully so. I was at work, and I did not want comment on the work computer.
I was thinking what they did is possible libel, defamation of character, brought moral, psychological damages to the boys, affected the JYJ name value. This is not possible, how can they? Who do they think they are? When are they going to stop? What will make them stop? Who has the power to make them stop? How can a society approve of such behavior? Which artist will be next? Because believe me there will be another artist/group to suffer such treatments. What will those artists do.
Then later on, while soothed by JYJ’s awesome pictures, and after voting furiously on Billboard and MTVk, I saw the tweet from the sweet, cute, and dorky Junsu:
“I wake up and there are articles about this and that a bit…! Let’s all take strength a bit more ^^ Okay!? Let’s not be sad… one day they will understand and trust us^^ If we do not let go of each other until that day, with only that we are happy~ Thank you always!”
Goodness gracious me, these boys are awesome. How can they endure so much? Their kindness, patience, intelligence, and awesomeness has no boundaries. Their physical beauty and talent matches their characters.
That’s it as long as fans support them and “we do not let go of each other until that day, with only that we are happy~” Let’s not let go of the boys! I know I won’t.
What JYJ and the JYJ family needs:
1. JYJ own official YT channel where fans all over the world can subscribe, and we can have a proof in numbers. linked to their C-jes company.
2. List all the achievements, awards, ratings, honors, donations (personal and from fans), activities, etc, chronologically since they became JYJ.
3. Invade social media, blogs, and internet, subways, cars, everything we need to with JYJ faces until no one can deny their existence and cultural hinderance.
4. Let’s not hinder the “cultural industry” and vote JYJ:
-MTVk -Sexiest Man
-Sign Petitions
-Vote JYJ on Billboard
-JYJ on Ellen
-JYJ and Jeju Island, and
-all the other possible polls and votes.
5. JYJ family continue to be vigilent, but smart, intelligent, and diplomatic in their actions.
