A lot of artists (like Siwon, Brian Joo, Arden Cho, etc.) are tweeting about it. They’re really sad and concerned and surprised. They keep asking, why?!
After how Jae reacted to Park Yongha’s death, I hope he’s not feeling too bad. The other two as well.

Yeah it’s really sad. RIP. I remember I think it was 2009? or 2010? that there were so many celebrity suicides, it’s almost scary. And most often than not it relates to depression or debt. Honestly, something needs to change.

Because there will come a day when ‘marketed idols’ will lose their marketability when they age and new idols are going to come to replace them. At that moment they will have dedicated so many hours and years to one career that they barely get anything out of. I am afraid for the future of these idols.

Oh yeah…….I’m going to get something of my chest here. Its really depressing so some of you might want to just skip past my comment T___T
I know that maybe I shouldn’t say this but its been tugging at me in the corner of my heart for a while now….There’s been..a lot of suicides in the K-pop news lately…….and….according to those around them….they were depressed….and even though they were depressed, they didn’t go get help…maybe its because of the way Korea views depression? But they continued on with their everyday lives…..doing their job…..and then…..one day…their just gone. So suddenly and without warning……………………..
And….our boys were and still is going through an incredibly stressful and hard situation……Nothing comes to them easy, and they have to fight for everything, even things that should be a given. They were basically banned from their homeland and they had lost a lot of “friends” during that period….so I guess all these things happening just made me insanely jittery………Every day I woke up worried, and went to sleep worried.
That was a big part of the reason why I was so damn happy they got themselves on twitter. It puts me at ease when I hear directly from them. And that also why I get anxious when I don’t hear from them in a while. Its gotten a lot better for me now, I don’t worry as much because things have been looking up lately and they sound happy, not as worried or lonely. But with the news of Chae dong ha’s passing, it just brought all that fear back. I’m not sure why, but I’m especially worried about Jae……maybe because I feel like he was the most effect out of the 5 with the whole TVXQ situation, maybe it’s because it feels like he’s the most dependent out of the 3 on love?
God I’m just one depressing person T____T I’m really sorry if I brought anyone down with me but I just REALLY needed to get it off my chest. It’s been weighing me down for a while…..*goes to cry in my corner*
@Diao, sweetie, Jaejoong is not the suicidal type man. He’s the kind of man who worries about everything, who wants to do everything by himself and wants everything perfect, and he also feels everything deeper into his heart. He feels loneliness and sadness deeper than the others. But he also encourages himself to continue moving forward: “ALWAYS KEEP YOUR FAITH”. ¿Remember? He always manages to surpass and continue fighting no matter what. So, don’t worry, girl. Always keep your faith as Jaejoong does.

Hun, it’s perfectly fine to get it off your chest. I mean when you love someone you worry about them right. And that’s exactly it, all members of JYJ have so many people who love them and worry about them. I am positive that the support they needed are right behind them. And the deal is, they have each other to share their pain with. I mean they chose to go through this path knowing what is bound to happen to them but they know they’ll survive because they have each other.
And JYJ is a well balanced group, and I mean that emotionally. They complement each other. And based off of interviews they know each other very well. Let’s keep our head up! The boys are living their dreams and they all seem plenty happy. And I think everyone would like to keep it that way ^^

That’s why I shied away from all news when it was especially dark. I know. Bad of me. But I had my own issues too and to add to them was just too much for me. But after reading Their Rooms, I just perked up and came back. It’s those lyrics. ^^
I think our guys are fine. Jae and Chun might be semi-“depressed” and moody sometimes, but don’t we all do? And besides, they have each other and have a lot of people that support what they do…even we don’t know how many actually whole-heartedly support them. They also have their music. See how Jae coped with Park Yongha’s death? He wrote the most beautiful song he’s written yet–In Heaven. And the wonderful songs of Their Rooms and the new songs all come from their experiences…dark or happy. So don’t worry. They got twitter and us fans and friends like Mr. Egg and most of all each other ^^

Instead of depressing by thinking and imagining things that may not even close to the truth, just thinking about all the happy things that did and may occur to the boys?
You can also keep cheering the boys up. Tweet them more and give them encouraging words. Tell them that you love them very much and will support them no matter what.
I believe that they are tough (even Jae)… and I believe that they’ll be tougher with more support from the fans. The tougher the fans are… the tougher they are as well. (Remember what Chunnie said in Paeksang Award Ceremony?)

ok dear i hope you read this. I believe JYJ boys are strong tough men to begin with even before the whole lawsuit and banned problem. Why did I said that … coz if you did remember their past history way before what they are now, the three of them have a very rough and difficult childhood.
Yuuchun is a child come from a broken family. His parents divorced while he still a child and he witnessed the whole process, more over in the foreign land. He watch his little brother sobbing in sleep, coz his brother missed he’s dad. He undergo a period where his family barely survive with financial problem which bring the breakdown of his family.
He’s the older brother and a man of the house when he’s father walk out of their family. The point is, this upbringing in the rough childhood makes him responsible and sensible. He definitely knows he cant be selfish coz there’s so many people rely on him. Believe the problem he face now are only 1/10 of his misery compared to his childhood.
Jaejoong…everyone knows that him too have a very rough past experience as well. I remember he tell a story of himself struggling during the training year. He even describe himself in poverty. He even sell his blood to get many to afford his meal. He sells candies on the streets for money, to the point there’s an old lady that buy every candies that he have out of pity. And during early DBSK year, he got to know he was adopted. He never knows he’s biological parents. You can imagine how hard it was for him, right? Still he’s holding on strong in every obstacle they face in the present.
Junsu as well have a very painful time. He suffered a condition where he lost he’s voice. The doctor even said he might need to forget he’s dream. He was supposed to debut early but he’s condition makes him train for extra years. He trained for 6years. I remember in one show, he said that, he often went to the rooftop and scream hoping he’s voice would comeback and pray to god to make him sing again. Junsu lost his voice and now look at him, he had stand tall despite the difficult years he had suffer before.
People with tough and rough life appreciate and cherish life. They wont simply throws away what they struggle in the past that bring the happiness he had in present no matter what obstacle they face. They are tougher soldier now.
What we need to do, is to help them so they will stay even stronger. Believe me with so much love they receive, a stupid hateful treatments from enemies wont break them down. We need to believe in them so they can believe in us as well.
I don’t know. I want to think positively too but sometimes when you’re depressed, it’s hard to control your feelings. Like today, I kept on telling myself that it’s ok, it’s ok, but I had no control and tears just kept on falling down. Especially in Korea, where news of suicide seems so common that such a sad option may come to mind. I mean, I was depressed today at work but committing suicide never occurred to me until I came here and found out about this news. That’s why I’m so glad I have JYJ’s concert to look forward to tomorrow.
But at the same time, JYJ seems to have lot’s of endeavors to look forward to and are very busy so, hopefully, they will never have the time to think of such a thing.

I know its common in SoKorea to commit suicide or being suicidal but JYJ I think had been exposed to many culture and experience that make them exceptional. Dont be sad dear… live stronger that before for people that we love the most. We will be at our best when we do our best for people dear in our life.
And those that read this and face a difficulty in life and did have suicidal thoughts…I wanna tell you all that, suicide is a cowardice to oneself and painful form of escape from the challenge in life. The process of dying are painful and its not easy at all. The pain that people experience during death are for more painful than the depression you face. Imagine people put noose around their neck and hang themselves. The pressure the noose will pressed the carotid artery that bring blood to the brain, the oxygen will depleted from the brain. The pressure work slowly, it slowly bring unconsciousness to the person. Every seconds they experience feels like ages. Its not easy to end one life that god had gift to us.
Live long and live strong. Do remember that even though we feel sad, there are so many people that we left behind that feel sad. Its not just us that left feel the sadness, the one that love us that being left behind feel the sadness the most.
actually when Park Yong Hwa suicide i thought about those matter too but then i remember about their sad and tough past history…..you know someone who ever experiences a past history like our boys in fact have a strong willinglness to life than the others……..coz they have realized about the meaning of life itself……it’s same with someone who has experiences about dying and almost died…..those people will appreciate and cherish their dear life

Please don’t fret my friends, I know we always worry about the boys but one must remember they have a very solid support group.
1. They have each other and they know one another very well. They will always take care of each other.
2. They have a very strong family bond…. JS has his twin which is like his other half….. YC has his brother who looks up to hime and depend on him and we musn’t forget JJ has like a village of sisters that will go beserk if anything happens to either him or JS OR YC.
3. They have us.
I think they are very well grounded and they have their heads screwed on right.
They are solid ( I sincerly think so judging from their actions and relationships)
It is normal to fret and worry but don’t too much because it will only make yourself suffer.
Bask in their awesomeness and support them however you can and soon we will be dancing in the rain with happiness on their victory!!
I agree. It is these family relationships that will keep them alive even if they face difficult situations in the future like a really bad breakup.
But the most important point is that they have family members who care about them and who they care about too. Yoochun is the man of his house so he can’t. Junsu has such a positive outlook on life…and honestly I have never known him to be the depressive type from all 5 of them.
Jaejoong has his family that he is indebted for adopting and raising him. Also, whenever he feels really depressed he talks about it with his sisters. That why his sisters knew that he wanted to just die after the lawsuit happened. But compared to before….even DBSK days……he is much more positive. He looks for help when needed (like bursting and crying on his members shoulders etc.). Yoochun is also worried about him bottling everything inside…..and fans are also worried about him. But from his problems he is learning to accept the bad things that happened to him and move on. And even though he has a depressed side to him….he also has a really positive outlook on life. Because JJ has had to deal with so much crap in his life…I think he has become stronger. We hope that nothing will happen to our Jaejoong that will trigger something bad so just remember him in your prayers. And the other two too.

Plus Junsu/Jae/Chun have strong family support. That matters a lot.
Plus if they feel like they’re being overwhelmed they can easily take a break.
Honestly i worried about Jaejoong too, but the fact he is willing to talk about his feelings is an indication that the worst is over.
Everytime they are trodden on they come back with a vengeance through 100% their own efforts. I’m sure that feeling of elation will compensate for the hard times.

It’s good that you let that out – it would only make you fret more if you kept it bottled up inside. I worried about Jaejoong especially too, but I really think the worst is over for them in that respect. What they have been through has made all of them tougher, more determined & more resilient. Plus, I think the blocking is making them more determined to win, rather than bringing them down. There is so much they are enjoying in their lives, all their new challenges & opportunities, plus most importantly of all – their freedom to live their lives the way they want too. When you fight that hard for your right to live your life the way you want, you won’t give up that life easily, just because you’re having a bad day. Try & focus on all the positive things happening in the boys lives, & how happy they are lately. & if that doesn’t work, come here to JYJ3 & let out all your worries again, OK? *hugs*
Yes, I understand your worries. I became a fan of JYJ at the beginning of this year, and I am always amazed how much the JYJ men are going through, and how they handle everything. I do hope that they talk about everything among themselves and look for support. And I will AKTF.
That is why I get sick when I see people bashing any artist because we don’t know their state of mind, and we don’t know what will be the trigger for them to hurt themselves. What we see on TV, interviews, and so on; it’s part of their stage persona, and it may or may not be who they really are or how they really feel. So, let’s try our best not to add anymore hurt to any artist (especially Korea, where we see that not being strong doesn’t seem to be easily accepted and acknowledged by the masses). I do hope that people in this country will start the conversation about what suicide means for the country as a nation and culture.
I’m also thinking about this after I heard the song “In Heaven”. Too many cases of suicide among the artists of SoKorea, a lot of SoKorean famous people trying to convince others that artists are not only products, but replaceable products….
But maybe it no use just to think about it. Maybe we could make situation a little bit better? It would be great if we – international fans could raise donation fund for SoKorean anti-suicide program (they have many anti-suicide programs there) and donate as JYJ fans. What do you think about it? I know that I would donate

1. Tell JYJ that we care about them, and that together we could make things better step by step.
2. Respect memory of Park Yong Ha and all the others, who left this world to early
3. Help others, that think about suicide

Yes, this is a great cause to take on as international fans. That will show that we love JYJ, and that we also care about the artists in SoKorea. This is a cause that I would definetely contribute, too. I just found this organization International Suicide Prevention (A nonprofit organization 501(c)(3) public charity formed in March 2006.) http://www.supportisp.org/aboutisp.htm
and maybe we can start a fund with them. But, I wonder, which would be the best approach, so we do not add too much burden on JYJ.

RIP Chae Dong Ha…the news said that maybe his death something to do with his former manager also died 2 years ago…

I feel so sorry about that. He chose a very painful way to commit suicide. Poor boy, he must had been feeling alone and without escape exits.

@Hii Hyun Joong and TOP are best friends cause they came from the same town. Jaejoong even lived together with Hyun Joong for a year….and the three were planning to go take a break in Canada when last they came….but TOP couldn’t fit it in his schedule so only 2Kim went. Also, they are drinking buddies.
They may not meet as often because of their random and busy schedules but I am sure they are still friends. Unless you are trying to point out that maybe TOP also dropped the two after the lawsuit…?
Also Jaejoong already referred to GDragon by his name in one of his tweets. If TOP and JJ are still not friends then JJ wouldn’t have mentioned GDragon either so casually and randomly. Also, if TOP wasn’t friends with or didn’t have a warm spot for Yoochun anymore he wouldn’t volunteer to let him hold one of the awards. He would have diva snubbed him. The only people who have really diva snubbed our boys is mostly SME idols.

actually even though i said that i want to sleep yesterday coz it was 01.00 or 02.00 a.m (i’m not really sure thought) and it’s mean that i should go to bed but……………in the end i can’t sleep at all so i contnuied to stalk on this site but of course put silent reader mode on 😀 😀 😀 and sadly i really can’t sleep at all until 07.00 on the morning so yeah i’m not sleep from yesterday night so that’s why after i bath and eat breakfast and do some chores i go slept like a cow even though for first hour i still can’t sleep well but after that i go to the dreamland……….then finally i wake up again after err…..5 or 6 hours for rest so here i am 🙂 🙂

Okay…this is a serious question. Do you think Korean Entertainment exaggerates Hallyu Wave Global Invasion? Its good to dream big but it need to be on the strong footing. With them narrowing the scope of Kpop into Idol music, tbh they dont stand the chance. Global music doesn’t swallow generic pop as a whole, the fact they exclude different music genre just show how shallow their approach are.
I seriously thinks they just being delusional and over the top with the news. Even WG barely make it in the US and JYP need to stop to recycle Nobody all over again, it end up as one-hit wonder imo. Im not belittle their effort nor i underestimate their ambition, but Kpop need to snap out of it.
I think all music genres as a whole think they have to think big if they want to get anywhere. Especially in the industry, everything really is exaggerated to become more …flashy. I have no better terms in mind right now. Forgive me, it’s 6 am and I haven’t slept a wink yet X.x;;

Yes, but I think it also has something to do with national pride. When a Korean act or group makes a splash abroad, it is only natural that Korean media reports about it and makes a big deal out of it (even if it really isn’t). I think an example of this would be the various “recognitions and records” various Kpop idols have broken in Japan. While some are legitimate, others are arguably not and I think that’s when the Korean media has the most effect, to the people who can only look at it from one perspective and not the whole picture, and the Hallyu Wave would seem bigger than it actually is.
Personally, I think Korean dramas played/will play a larger part in the Hallyu Wave expansion, at least when it comes to attracting a wider audience.
I agree with the drama bit, but I disagree with the media bit. It is the companies paying sources to write about so-and-so articles and that’s why it is all over the place. When THSK was in Japan no one in Korea gave a shit about them besides their fans. Their Japanese successes barely got any coverage in Korea. Because at the time SME didn’t care about covering THSK in Korea so they didn’t pay sources. Now there is TOO much news and it is turning a lot of people away.
Korea is making a couple of BIG mistakes that will destroy the Hallyu wave. And this destruction will be due to their own greed.
1. Too many groups are debuting and the majority of them have a cutesy concept or other reused concepts;
2. The groups barely have a fangroup in Korea and they are being rushed into Japan for money;
3. Idol groups are loosing support more and more in their homeland. So much so that when ‘I am a SInger’ announced that they would next have a season with idols their was HUGE backlash;
4. The original idol groups had talent but now people are debuting groups where maybe 1/5 have talent
5. There is no equal exchange. They are pushing themselves everywhere but they don’t let anyone foreign on Korean TV (rarely)
6. The majority of the new groups fans are international fans who don’t buy the products but just use pirated content and claim that they are ‘true fans’ (this is also true of the JYJ fandom)
7. Many overhyped articles are always being brought forward that have nothing to do with singing talent. These articles (if they are bought) are used to hide the insecurities of the companies and to keep the groups ‘popular’
8. The companies are pushing the idols with such tough schedules that in the near future many of them will break (have a meltdown or be rushed to the hospital for extended care) or commit suicide. They have no care for the idols health. They hide tiredness through overuse of makeup or surgery for their massive eyebags.
I wish the idols could stand together and go on strike or something. They are the only ones who can change their condition.
I don’t doubt that Korean entertainment companies are paying sources to write about the Hallyu Wave and making it bigger than it really is, but I really do think that national pride also has something to do with it. Like some of the comments below, I do think there’s pride and a certain bit of arrogance involved, especially in the way the Korean Ent. companies keep shoving their type of Hallyu Wave to our faces.
I do agree with your points, though. Korean Ent. are the ones who’s going to kill the Hallyu Wave themselves, not anyone else.
You know why your comments and other comments on this post make me sad? Because if indeed your predictations have any truth to them, the only people who are going to suffer the most are the idols themselves. These are young boys and girls who have dreams, who are still growing, and if their spirit is broken in the process, what a sad generation will they be? If this is true, how can they parents and families let this happen to their children? They are innocent kids with dreams, like any other teenager in any other country. I do hope and wish that they will turn out OK. I hope they all work hard in their schools… I don’t know what to say or do to protect these kids.

and yes, hallyu wave is big, for now, and on selected country. The kdrama could lead the way, kpop not for long. Why? because they all sound the same, and even in korea itself, there are time limit of how long idol group can survive, and lets face it, kpop hallyu wave = idols. Kpop spreads faster than jpop for now. But not for the long run.

Ticket reservations for JYJ(Kim Jaejoong, Park Yoochun, Kim Junsu)’s Busan Concert have ended in success.
The 16,000 seats of the ‘Busan Sajik Indoors Gymanisum’, reserved on June 11th and 12th for the ’2011 JYJ World Tour in Busan’ performances, were sold out in mere minutes since the opening of reservations at 8pm by Interpark.
Fans who were unable to get tickets for JYJ’s performance were seen sighing and voicing their misfortune. JYJ’s agency changed the date for ticket reservations numerous times, but fans had high expectations for the show nonetheless. This event proved once more just how popular JYJ is.
Fans who were unable to purchase tickets seemed to be in denial as they said, “How could the concert be sold out when the window wouldn’t even load ㅡㅡ The window should have at least loaded, geez”, “This makes me wonder if the Japanese really did buy seats in bulk ahead of everyone else and sold them at premium prices” and “The Sajik Gymnasium is so close to my house so I could have gone ㅜㅜ But I can’t because I couldn’t get tickets ㅜㅜ.”
On the 26th, JYJ’s agency released an official notice that stated, “We will postpone ticket reservations for a day due to certain circumstances related to the concert venue,” and “Director Jeri Slaughter has stated the need to change the seating arrangements so we ask for the understanding from fans.”
On the other hand, JYJ are said to have a Gwangju concert on the 26th of June and a Seoul concert(undecided) lined up.

Anti-Korean Wave backlash has political, historical causes

Korean girl groups use sexual favors to get their way and the Korean government has invested over 1 trillion yen ($11.9 billion) to support the Korean Wave, at least according to one Japanese comic.
The comic is not based on fact, but is a microcosm of the backlash against the Korean Wave, or hallyu, which has recently been led by Korean girl groups Girls’ Generation and Kara.
Since the Korean Wave began sweeping across Asia, anti-Korean Wave sentiment has emerged in different countries over the years.
In Japan, a couple of so-called “anti-Korean wave” comics portray girl groups as hostesses and have sold thousands of copies.
In Taiwan, nude composite photos of a member of Super Junior can be found on many Taiwanese Web sites. One Chinese media outlet posted an article with a title implying that a member of Girls’ Generation appeared in pornography.
Song Won-seop, director of JoongAng Entertainment and Sports, says the reason behind the backlash is Korean disinterest in foreign media.
“Korean industries are passionate about selling their content, but tend to refuse foreign content,” Song said. “This provokes a sense of discontent in other countries.”
“In particular, Chinese people feel that the Koreans under appreciate Chinese culture,” Song added. “Similarly, some Japanese are upset at hallyu because Korean culture used to follow Japanese trends.”
For some countries, it’s a combination of politics and psychology.
“In Taiwan’s case, people have antipathy toward Korea based on history. Korea was a political and economic ally of Taiwan, but changed its alliance to China. Taiwan feels Korea betrayed them,” Song said.
Japanese anti-Korean Wave sentiment has political roots, Song said.
“Many conservatives in Japan feel that Korea is still an underdeveloped country that used to be their colony. From their point of view, Korea is politically and economically challenging Japan.”
Some suggest anti-Japanese sentiment in Korea has also inflamed a backlash against the Korean Wave.
Though the causes are complex, Song suggests a way to ease tensions: “The best way to cope is to try to seriously consider how foreigners view Korea and be interested in their culture as well.”

@Miaw, It’s very interesting. It involves politics with korean wave. I have to read it carefully again before sharing my opinion.
This is true. Thank you for posting this.
Koreans tend to be nationalistic and have great pride in themselves and their culture. They think that their way is the best way. Most of the ones I’ve met at least. There are some who appreciate other cultures but still prefer their own, like my unni and some other friends. And then there are some who are like JYJ (and especially Jae) and Tohoshinki of old who embrace other countries and cultures and languages and treat it as their own.
The article is right in saying that Korea spreads their products (Hallyu, cars, electronics, etc.) to other countries and yet they don’t stop and consider the other country’s culture and ways. Especially in poorer 3rd world countries where Korea does a lot of charity and construction work. They appreciate it, I’m sure, but sometimes they feel threatened.
Back to Hallyu, and especially in Japan, the imports these days don’t bother to learn the language anymore. Even I, not a fluent Japanese speaker or Japanese, resent that. I think that train stopped with SS501 and Big Bang and even they are not that fluent. I mean if you’re gonna produce music in that country, why don’t you learn that country’s language?! The only ones that have ever REALLY bothered are BoA, Ahyoomi, Younha, DBSK, and CSJH The Grace! Forgive me if I’ve left anyone out, but seriously. SERIOUSLY?
I LIKE Super Junior, but their Japanese sucks. Ugh. Big Bang has a bit of decent Nihongo, but I think that’s because most of the lines in their Japanese songs are in English and there’s little Japanese. And don’t get me started on KARA and SNSD and the like. I’m kind of glad 2NE1’s Japanese debut got pushed back. I don’t want them to stoop to mediocrity. Maybe it’s because I got started to listening to Asian music in J-Pop so that industry/language is dear to me, but seriously, Korea! Have some decency!
That’s why I really appreciated JYJ and especially Jae when they went to other countries and do concerts or other things there. They take the time to respect that country and culture. Like visiting the Thai king or openly loving Japan or just simply trying to interact with the people around them.
And then Korea says they’re cultural hazards of some sort. The nerve!

Oh, let me tag on that Super Junior-M is doing a decent job in China. But that’s it.
Shinee’s Japanese sounds like Korean. >_< Korea really needs to stop the dang translating Korean songs into Japanese and start getting into original Japanese songs…something like Step by Step or whatever. *sigh*
Well, I’ve been reading your comment @Bluefyre. I think you’re right. I’m not so deep into this particular issue, but about JYJ I think they’ve done an amazing job taking into account wishes and costums of other cultures. And they’ve embraced some like theirs. Looking at them carefully, I think they look much more free to behave as they feel and want when they’re out of S.Korea. And they’re able to experiment other ways to perform their concerts pleasantly. They have a very free mind and they like to interact with other cultures. So, besides their outstanding artistical talents, their way of thinking makes them the perfect Ambassadors of S.Korean culture indeed.
i get your point and yes personally i thought same the way you thinking…even though i’m not really knew much about korea but i can saw they are really proud about their cultures and they are seem look like so ambitious for gain their goals but the one thing that sometimes i can’t accept that some of them look down the other cultures so that’s why when Jae came to Thai and visit the Thai king and also respect those country cultures i’m really so proud…..personally i never found artist like JYJ who really appreciate the other country cultural before

I may have been just a little too harsh. I mean I know the reason why they’re like that. The Japanese occupation, China claiming Korea, the Korean war, and many more. They’re proud of their culture. I get that. I am too. But why can’t they think that what they’re doing to other countries is kind of like what China or Japan did to them only in a psychological/cultural way? I wonder if they’ve thought that.
But then that’s just me. And there HAVE been Koreans who have been more than respectful of other cultures. Like our JYJ or BoA and a few others. On the whole though, they’re largely on the “We’re better” attitude and they need to get off that. Sure some of their products have quality, but there are others who have better quality as well (Japan = high quality, hello?).
Besides, they have no right to have that attitude if most of Kpop today has mediocre music (recycled!) and performances. What gives? They need to get back on the drawing board and stop spitting out new groups all the time in a hurry and start looking for people who REALLY want to do that kind of life and train them right.

Agree! I hate how Koreans always boast about themselves and always say that they are more “original”, “creative” or etc then Japan, China and other Asian countries! I mean in one of the more recent episodes in Strong Heart, when Seungyeon was telling her story about Arashi and Jun Matsumoto and other popular Japanese artists MC Kang Ho Dong interrupted her and said to the audience oh that those Japanese artists are like having Rain and these 2 other Korean artists in your presence….I was like WTF? I mean dude Jun Matsumoto is WAY more popular then RAIN and so are the other Japanese artists, I hate it how Koreans always try to compare themselves and their “achievements” to the Japanese. Also Koreans are so mean to foreigners sometimes, always making fun of them and stuff….the stupid Knetizens criticizes a country for not liking K-pop or their “idols” but don’t bother taking the time to listen or appreciate other countries’ music or celebrities. This is one of the big reasons I want the Korean Wave to fail because it is too obnoxious.
err… KHD needs to excuse himself. MatsuJun is the member of arashi who baited the most fans. Arashi last year was the only asian artist to appear on year end global album chart. Wow I’m actually fuming, he makes me want to compare arashi’s achievement with rain’s. But since I like rain, I’m holding myself back.
This is like when Goo Hara was in Happy Together, and the mc said hara looks like namie amuro, and then lee hyo ri said, hara is prettier, I’m like WHAT THE HELL!!!!!! Sorry hyori, but what did you just smoke? One of the main attraction that got kara noticed on the first place was because hara was said to be like namie’s look alike. The main reason why TVXQ and now JYJ have been so accepted by other countries esp Japan can be summed by in one word, RESPECT!
TVXQ spent a great deal of effort learning the Japanese language, starting off as a J-group and the many things they did in their early days really are incomparable.
Nowadays, the groups or singers that want to go into Japan just assume they will be happily accepted.
In fact, they are riding on TVXQ’s fame to do so! (which makes me really pissed off after HM thank snsd for “opening up” the Japanese scene, but that’s another story)
ah right i forget to mention about that haahahahahaha 🙂
yes they really have respect and because of that they are considered by Jpop not Kpop anymore because for Japanese people our boys has recognized as a japanese person 😀

I can see where everyone’s coming from. I also have similar thoughts on the current situation of the Hallyu wave. Koreans on a general level are a too proud of a country. I can understand why they would be proud, of course, but they are too self involved and believe themselves to be superior to others.
Idols now a days are all hopping onto the bandwagon just so they can make some money off their Japanese fans. Without even trying to properly understand and explore the culture of the country their entering. They aren’t respecting the Japanese and their culture, whether it be their language, OR what they consider to be prestigious (ex. groups with no stature standing on the Tokyo Dome stage.)
Sooner or later because of the overwhelming amount of kpop groups swarming in without much effort, people are going to be tired and feed up with them and they just might swear off the entire k-pop culture. In general, I believe that they are doing more harm and good for K-pop.

@Shadow, hello babe. I didn’t knew about that. It’s very sad indeed. In my country it doesn’t happen very often, but last year a very young and beautiful model commited suicide in the same way. Until today nobody seems to understand why.
maybe…just maybe it’s really hard to them for free from depression…it’s really sad though for those people who easily choose to get over their life for something that maybe actually have the solution but in the end they are choose to suicide
Depression is a clinical disorder…however, according to some of my K associates…Korean society is not receptive to those kinds of treatments because K society in general is into saving face therefore publicly admitting that one is undergoing medical treatments for such disorders can have a heavy backlash/consequences on how they are viewed and treated afterward. The older folks seem to stake their lives on the power of different kinds of ginseng and herbs and that is all that’s necessary. So the younger ones just deal with it in a drastic way out of desperation. This is just some of their opinions.
