Jung Sunah, rising musical actress who played the counterpart to Junsu in Mozart!, had an interview in which she mentioned Junsu in a positive way:
“I think I became known to the general public when I played the counterpart to JYJ’s Junsu. At that time my fans increased a lot.”
(…)
When asked (by the interviewer) whether she “has any complaints as a musical actress when actors without experience but have gained popularity on TV easily take the lead roles in musicals,” she immediately answered: “I really hate it.”
“I’ve come to wear colored glasses (with regards to matters like that). For those actors and singers who were cast (on musicals despite lack of experience) like that, one could perhaps say that they are just doing what they are commanded to do by their companies. But in those cases I’ve seldom seen them meld into the regular cast and have fun… Ok Juhyun and Kim Junsu were diligent and put in such effort that they were exceptions (to the rule). But there were many times that I wondered ‘why did they cast this person’.”

Hehehe..
It our Junsu anyway~
*fullofproud* XD
That our Junsu..what are you espect, Lady??^________^
(looks up Ok Juhyun)
I do wonder how theater actor/esses feel about pop stars coming into their field (DER TAKEN ER JERBS! I had too >”<).
Same with TV actor/actresses. I wonder how they feel? Glad to see she's not mad at Su or the other singer. He definitely
is an exception.
Ah, but the flip side of the coin…those who are talented like our Junsu, bring in audiences that fill the seats that might not ever get filled. Double edged sword. So, this obviously was a wn-win for everyone concerned.
agree, our Su is very talented, and I would do anything to see his musical live @_@, can’t wait for that date to come ^^
it’s true, but qty of filling seats maybe is not everything for musical people. they would also hope for great ensemble between casts so they can perform one whole great act together.
it’s good that junsu is one of not many popular person without experience in musical who could dig more of their character and perform well, but there are many idols who couldn’t do that n maybe made the performance become lack of interesting..
a win-win for sure.
he helps the musical industry grows with both his talent and popularity, he’s truly DAEBAK lol
Sometimes. There have been cases where idols only do one or two performances and they don’t show up for the rest because of busy/conflicting schedules. It really is a waste of time for all involved. Junsu on the other hand does not have a company that directs his activities or “buys” him the lead role. (anymore)
Given his situation he decided to give musicals an honest try and since they did not reject him because of JYJ, he found a field he could also excel in. He could dedicate himself fully (even with the world tour concert underway). If his fame gave him an unfair advantage then his hard work, talent and enthusiasm made up for it. He was never disrespectful to anyone, he even added shows he wasn’t expected to do and he didn’t treat this experience as a one time thing. He has stated his serious intent of acting in future musicals.
Idols who have done musicals can’t say the same thing. To be fair, with a company scheduling everything for you, it is hard to fully dedicate yourself to something besides choreography and photo-shoots. I agree with Jung Sunah, these musical actors are even more dedicated and talented than some mainstream actors yet they put up with fierce competition and some not-so-stellar starting wages. If you’ve worked your ass off and truly felt passionate about some role that ended up going to some moron-idol with little talent you’d be pissed off too. Especially if that idol doesn’t even try their best because it is just some project their company gave them to do. This is other people’s livelihood. It isn’t fair.
That is why I was so proud when Junsu mentioned the unfair pressure and low wages musical actors have to suffer. They chose a hard profession and deserve better.
It’s Junsu, he works hard to make sure he is the exception ^^
As always, so proud of him 🙂
Bansah! for Jun-Chan!
yeah, unlike some other idols or popular actors who have no enthusiasm for musicals at all, Junsu really loves it and gives in his best! AND THAT IS WHY HIS PERFORMANCES ARE ALL SOLD OUT AT SUCH FAST RATE!
I mean, there are a lot of other idols, popular actors who take part in musicals just of the sake of doing it, did u hear news about their performances sold out so fast, or about how big the hype is for their shows. Yeah fan girls may crash everything, but there is a limit to how long can they bear with sth that is not even interesting to them. They may sell out the 1st, 2nd performance, but if they don’t really appreciate and love what their idols show them, they can’t sell out every single one like Junsu did. ^^ it just shows how much Junsu really puts in musicals ^^
so proud of him !!!!!!!!! ^^
Proud of Junsu ❤
He always makes me feel proud ^^
I’m glad to see Junsu’s talent, passion and enthusiasm for musicals is once again recognized and appreciated by a musical actress 😀
I’m glad that she was so honest – & of course, Junsu is always an exception to the rules – all rules! 😉
well, she’s honest… 🙂
her reaction is probably the same with most people about “idols turn etc etc” anw
relevant point is, if these idols actually put effort and don’t half-ass, people would recognize and appreciate them
i’m glad junsu is one of them who breaks off prejudices about idols ^^
