And the instrumental is on the official CD single of Bolero/Don’t forget/Kiss the baby sky LOL. Everyone can get it and sung it by himself without contacting Avex.

Roy is a mainland chinese singer who participated in a national singer contest. To archive his dreams of becoming a singer I think that he went to Taiwan to make his debut. Many singers originally from mainland do that in China, because getting fame in Taiwan is easier as the entretainment industry is more developed there. The proof of the fact that Roy is relesing this album from Taiwan is that the album is written in old chinese characters, which are only used in Taiwan, not in mainland. You can check it on his album cover.

Well, THAT being the case, then we’re back in business as far as the “bootleg” and/or WHO KNEW!!?? theories. Although, using a dub of a CD would still be a quantifiable lessening of quality that certain people (people I know, anyway) could hear.
When everybody concerned is lying, it’s kind of hard to know!! But as I said, the impact, other than purely sentimental, is nil on Jaejoong. If I know anything about the JYJ fandom, this kid’s career is over before it ever got started.

this is list of Avex’s artists. There is no the Roy guy in this list. Avex is a public company and they can’t lie about these things. I don’t buy shit from twitter from anyone, I just look at the official information. Roy is not listed as Avex artist so the only explanation is that he just stole the song.

I did what you did and checked Wikipedia, guess what, Junsu’s brother’s name, Junho is not on this list either (not under the Ks or Js). So, this still doesn’t mean he isn’t on their roster. Also, the info about no connections with mainland China, this info comes under the heading – Locations – China : Room 302, Tianhai Business Building, Block B, 107 North Street, Dongxi, Beijing 100007. If this isn’t mainland China, I don’t know what is. Is there some other information regarding this you can provide? Thank you in advance.

Good question. Are we absolutely positive that these are the identical tracks as on the original recording? It’s certainly not out of the realm of the possible that a competent musician could copy the original tracks note for note, but, inevitably, there would be differences. So if we closely A-B-ed them, we could tell.

Well, here’s what usually happens when an artist discovers he’s being ripped off. He’s sitting there, staring at his hands. He’s alone. He doesn’t know what to do or who to call. if he has a music biz attorney, I mean if he’s actually that far enough along in his career, he finally calls him and pours out his tale of woe. The attorney listens patiently and then says, “OK, why don’t you come in and we’ll talk about it and review your options. I’m going to need another retainer from you though, so bring your checkbook. It’ll be another $5000.” So now the artist is sitting there, and instead of being able to recover money that he might be making from the stolen song, he’s having to PAY OUT money in advance to consider ways of handling the situation.. For most artists at “that certain level in their career” that’s the end of it. They swallow down their anger and they move on.
Now Jaejoong, unlike probably 97% of all recording artists and musicians who dream of becoming one, can call HIS attorneys and say, “Go get them.” And they do. Jae as a songwriter and artist is a huge, vastly successful global phenomenon. He can pay a retainer out of his pocket change. Let’s take at least SOME comfort in that.
Wikipedia is written by average people from the general public and not by company representatives. In fact, it has rules generally forbidding people from updating their own articles (to avoid bias). So unless a member of the general public has seen fit to update the Avex articles on Wikipedia (and they’d have to have credible, verifiable sources for the information) then it’s not a reliable source. He’d only show up on Wikipedia AFTER he’d been added to the Avex website or there’d been some press releases or something.

Once again, assuming that their copyright laws are the same as in the U.S. once a song has been recorded the first time (and this one has) anyone can record it without permission, they just have to file the paperwork with their performing right societies. Any reputable label has people who work there who do this all day long. When records were still being made, they listed the writers right on the label of the record. Now, I’m not so sure. We’d have to get a copy of this CD and see if Jae is credited as the writer. If Roy is a stand up guy, and he’s telling us the truth in his statements, Jae will be credited.
Roy said the song will not be released in his statement so of course there is no credit for it on CD cover.
But what my point of my comment is not about Roy, but about Avex. I don’t know why people just insist on claiming that Roy is under Avex without researching, while if they do, they will know for sure that this guy is not.

Also Junsu’s brother is said to work with Avex (he also hasn’t debuted just like this Roy guy) and he too is not on the lists that you posted so either that list is outdated or they just don’t place non debuted artists on there not sure. Junsu’s brother is not even on the wiki one and he’s a currently SIGNED artist that just hasn’t debuted yet. See so that argument is kind of eh.
I like the fact that you’re thinking though cause I too do jump to conclusions with out doing my research but as of right now I kind of believe there’s no way to prove or disprove his relationship with Avex. All we know is there’s a logo on his poster and they were about to debut that song until fans stopped him.

Hmmm…. curiouser and curiouser… Here’s a theory: the album could be a bootleg, labeled to look alike a legitimate AVEX release. That would be brazen, I must say. In that case all bets are off about credit, royalties, etc etc. Jae would get nada. Ahh, it’s a Brave New World in the recording industry! Ever making a dollar is a real challenge. People are too used to getting things for free and cutting every corner in sight. But I content myself that Jae is doing juuuust fine, thanks. Our man isn’t exactly starving. 🙂 I really hope he can put ALL of this crap behind him and concentrate on his role in “Protect The Boss.” All of this is out of his hands and the impact on his future as an artist is nil. Covering someone else’s song and rewriting the lyrics to do a cover version is different. There are people who have to do the paperwork yes but they have to do it before the album is sent to be pressed and released. I see that the production company is in China but the album would be released in Taiwan, copyright laws are different in China and Taiwan. Anyway, I searched for that production company and found a post in which they replied the fan saying that the song was produced by the artiste and his friends, not the production company.
