There was a news article saying youtube considering ban SK from using Youtube due to using a program to create viewcounts, I don’t know if it’s an example of that..
there’s an issue about 2NE1 that someone using program to add million views on Don’t Stop the Music MV and Ugly MV which make Youtube had to delete Ugly MV. At that time, I think it’s kind of anti’s 2NE1 things. Because of ten black dancer behind 2NE1 in the MV 😛
So if you want to make million views on Youtube, please make sure you don’t cheat on it or anything. There’s news in Japan that youtube want to band south korea because it seemed they cheated on view counts. And because of that, youtube may have a problem with their sponsors because all ads in youtube rely on view counts. If it was cheated, it seemed youtube will lose their income. Then, our one-million-views-mv may be deleted for that problem. Please be aware 🙂

I feel proud too but I don’t really give a damn anymore about youtube. Its only redeeming feature is exposure for potential fans. Ideally it should be new fans upping the view count and not just a few people playing it over and over again.
but it’s only when a video has many views that new people start to feel interested, like for many famous kpop videos ( gee, sorry sorry, bupple up , heartbreaker and more …)

Call me cynical, but I feel good about the video reaching 1M+ hits. Sure manipulation is rampant on YT, but that can happen just about anywhere for any reason. And yes, there will be some sourgrapes commenting. But again, so what. It does not diminish the quality of the work, the hard work the guys put into making the song and the video. In the end, it will stand on its own.
When I go looking for videos of artists that I like, yes I look to see how many hits they have. Some of these artists are ‘old school’ for me. Some are newer. But in the end, all I want to see or hear is quality. Some are better than others. Being on YT is like free advertising. People stumble upon a video not watched before and say, hmmmmm, I like that. So, I’m going to savor seeing the numbers grow, and tell myself, new fans will come on board. 🙂

Good point. And isn’t that how a whole lot of us ended up here? It sure was true for me. I heard DBSK’s OST theme songs in “The Legend” and started researching them on YouTube. The rest is history. I think JYJ will gather all kinds of new fans just from watching “Get Out” and doing a little research. And of course I hope they find there way here…
The Legend OST for me too. And Jae’s solo. So, the haters and the BS artists who feel compelled to live lives of misery, that is their perogative. I’m only here because I choose to like a group called JYJ, and converse with some awesome people.
My YT experiences are varied. I’ve found some stuff I didn’t know was out there. I’ve been surprised to see work from artists I grew up with and didn’t expect to see on there. Others are a little harder to find. But all in all, being on there IMHO is not a detriment. In a perfect world, we wouldn’t have any of this antagonism, but we all know this is not a perfect world. We just do what we can to support the guys. In the end, they will do fine.

N if we watching it over and over again (not replaying) is it still get counted?
you don’t have to log in to make your view count. Login only to ‘like’ or comment though
if u constantly refresh the page and watch it it still get counted
