I dont think it’s wron to bring it up here.. If it’s damaging to JYJ then fans here have the right to know that there are refutable groups allowing themselves be used to spread false information.. We can talk about ways on pressuring the magazine for an apology.. the power of JYJ is known to be in the active participation of their fandom.. Yesterday.. fans of JYJ , most of them are commenters here in JYJ3 had twitter activities of asking GQ and the author for public apologies.. we are voicing out that as fans we are not happy and that they should be careful with what they write..

It’s good to enjoy the music.. but what separates this JYJ fandom from the rest is it’s actively standing up for JYJ against groups whose intention is to publicly defame the boys. It’s not enough that we just know the truth.. Knowing the truth is no point if it does not lead you to action.. and the sisters here are very much involve in every petition there is so they ought to know what’s going on.. then it’s up to them if they want to do something about it..or brush it off.. keeping them uninformed is like underestimating the sisters’ capacity to handle issues and do something about it..
I hope you wont take it wrongly and personal.. am just trying to explain why every info about JYJ is important.. they are not a regular group.. if it’s just a tabloid .. then we can ignore.. but GQ is GQ.. It’s a well known magazine that a lot of Koreans read.. if they dont know JYJ then they might be able to believe the crap that was written.. so publicly apologizing on the misinformation is being demanded from our side..

I also hope that lady Karma stays fair and keeps dispensing their own medicine to those who are stubborn/dellusional/ and mean for the sake of being mean towards my boys. I am going to post an amazing performance by my favorite kpop group Brown Eyed Girls. To think that Jea, Miryo, and Narsha are in their 30s while Ga In is 24, and can exude so much charisma and sex appeal in this performance just blows my mind. Each and every one of them has so much talent that, in my opinion, they pawn all girl group comebacks (including all the famous girl groups). I just can’t describe them. It’s kind of like me trying to describe JYJ. (and the whistle – phew Gain and Narsha killed it).
amajing ^^ They released their songs a bit later than JYJ and yet were able to be on music shows…
call me cynical, but i kind of gave up on the idea of JYJ on music shows long ago. Logically speaking, for comeback stage, the management company and PD should have arranged weeks in advance of the song release dates, so if JYJ has a chance, it would have happened by now. I guess as long as SME still retains such strong hold of the industry, the idea of JYJ on music shows together with other idols is not gonna happen anytime soon.
Wow, i watched both the performance and the MV and i have to admit they are really really talented and, *i confess*, i love the MV just as much if not more than JYJ’s ones. They have a unique style, edgy and mature. BEG is one of the very rare kpop girl groups which i kind of look forward to, the other ones are 2NE1 and Davinchi though BEG’s image is still the strongest so far.

I’d have to admit too that I love BEG’s MV better than JYJ’s. But we have to take into account, BEG’s has high production cost and in all of their MV’s you see, they have always managed something extremely creative (even for their solos). I suggest you also watch Ga In’s and Narsha’s, if you haven’t seen them yet ^^. They try to break stereotypes and be as out of the box as possible.
I am also a big fan of 2NE1 and Davichi. Even though 2NE1 was considered the girl version of Big Bang, but I find they have their own flavor and uniqueness that comes in their personalities, talent, song, and MV wise. I appreciate the creativity they bring to the table. (or at least YG is being smart about it).
In all honesty, I get pumped and sizzling every time I watch a new MV by JYJ. But I find their approach is very similar to the typical videos you see when JYJ was as 5. Which, to me who have seen so much growth in JYJ’s creativity, is longing to see more than just a typical dance or sad video. I mean don’t get me wrong, the MV was amazing and the song and the boys just made it 10x better, but I always longed for something more creative than that. I dunno, I feel like me being in the design industry and all affects me this way.
I give props to the beg, very cool ladies, liked them somewhat since forecer, but their mv is flavored with bits an pieces seen in many US videos, so as far as mind blowing creativity, well maybe so for K-market. just my two cents on this one.

It’s really hard to be original these days not with all the creative juices spewing like hot fire, especially in this generation. I can see why you would say you’ve seen this before in US MV’s. I guess my point in why I find the MV very creative, is that the message of the song is well translated into all the elements of the video. Bit and pieces of what’s been done are a form of inspiration to me. Just like how you look at art and dance. Sure it’s been done, but how well do you utilize it, that’s the key.
Actually I’m not too much into kpop but I watched an MV of this group by conicidence… ABRACADABRA ….It was the last year?… And I ended up watching a live vid too.

BEG is good, i think what attracts me the most is Narsha, she seems nice, funny, and pretty, I think she is also in good terms with JYJ, once i’ve seen they took photos together. I notice she has beautiful voice, and her songs that i like the most is “I Love You” (duet with fellow member Miryo) and “I’m In Love” (with Sungha Jung as the guitarist)..
hehehe.. Sungha Jung is one of my fav korean artist beside JYJ, and so I want to thank to Narsha for willing to sing a really nice song and help Sungha Jung’s talent as a young fingerstyle guitarist being more recognised. I’m sorry if i’m out of topic but i just want to share the video teaser here, Narsha feat Sungha Jung..please enjoy ^^

So the latest article on hangeng’s contract on akp is really confusing..but was scrolling through comments and Sarah said:
“people are confused and that this is a mistranslated article. here’s the backup story and real info! Remember back in 2010? Hangeng won the lawsuit against SM. Later though, SM filed an appeal against the court’s rule in favor of Hangeng. SM appealed in January 2011 because they wanted Hangeng to pay the contract cancellation fees. So now Hangeng’s lawyers are filing for a dismissal of SM’s appeal, not the lawsuit because Hangeng already won the lawsuit. (AKP said Hangeng filed an appeal against his own win… seriously? how does that make sense? Golly gee. Now I KNOW SM is a sore loser. They’re prolonging the case as they are prolonging JYJ’s. Only difference is, Hankyung already won and can promote in his homeland China, while JYJ is still waiting on the court decision and cannot promote in their homeland Korea. Is it always about the $$$ benjamins?! Or in this case, won?!!
I read that I was like what? I though Hangeng already won the case. ck ck ck… Allkpop and their usual slaughter of deciphering words and using it as a tool to gain more views and hits. It wasn’t the first time they did that, AND they pride themselves as being the best thing in kpop i-fans wise.
SM is a sore loser and they won’t ever have the guts to say that they’re wrong. Just stubbornly kick and scream like a little kid who needs to go to sleep and calm the f*** down. All they need is a bit of JYJ and Hangeng to shut them up and put them back to sleep. If only their whining would stop, I can’t stand the noise.

the thing is, even if SM didn't recruit hangeng in first place, he can find another agency to work with. take example of younha, soyeon of t-ara, and youngsaeng. they didn't need SM in the first place, right? plus, it's not like SM projects never failed (coughsmtheballadcoughmilkcoughnadiacoughblackbeatcough). therefore, it's not like: "if SM didn't recruit him, he might be just working in a china circus group"… what?! it's damn annoying how people see idols can't do anything without their company thus they have to stay quiet under their company's pressure. another thing is, hangeng's case is more favorable towards him since the case is not just about "slave contract", but also racism issues. add in the fact that SM didn't have that big influences in china, i don't see the chance of SM to win against him. however, regarding this withdrawal matter, correct me if i'm wrong, i've read before that in an interview hangeng said that even if he must pay for the contract termination, he will. so if now hangeng decide to drop the case, that's it. after all, he'll be fine there in china and SM can't mess up with him.
and that's make me jealous over him because our jyj can't do the same thing in korea or japan. *sigh*

As stated above, being sore losers, and not having the guts to say they are wrong, is ultimately going to be SME’s downfall. As I’ve said before, arrogance breeds stupidity, and stupidity causes people to do some really outrageous things.
At this point, I don’ think SME can really help themselves in this regard. It’s like having an incurable disease. Which makes it terminal. With Hangeng’s case, he is fortunate, being in China, he has a massive home base from which to launch and build his new career. And not to mention the fact that his backers probably have more financial juice than SME can only image. 🙂
Hangeng is fortunate that he can perform unfettered in his native land, and I wish him all the best. With SME wasting dollars on an appeal with no value at all, I say go for it SME. Throw good money down the drain. It’s not like you can’t use it. **snarksnark** But I’m not jealous of his situation. My take on it, sweet success is the best revenge, and anyone who can succeed after surviving SME’s BS deserves a round of applause.
JYJ will have their turn. I am sure Sejong informed the guys of how difficult the road will be, that civil lawsuits don’t just come and go. They can take a very long time to run the course. Sure, their chances of getting equal footing like the rest of their peers is going to be an uphill battle. But you know what? Not being on a level playing field is not the worst thing that can happen to them. Look at how creative they are in promoting.
The guys could have had a HUGE chunk of their fan base drift off and never come back. THAT DID NOT HAPPEN! Their fan base for the most part, stuck it out. This is what SME hoped would happen, and were they in for a rude awakening. Not to mention, it has been growing since SKKS and all the other individual efforts.
JYJ only has to be concerned with JYJ. They earn their money, pay their bills and keep on rolling. SME is shilling out money they really can’t afford to shill out. Their budgets have to cover a whole slew of folks. We all know how that goes — the top artists work like dogs to support the company and get back precious little in return.
Sure JYJ deserves a more even playing field, but that day is going to come. Who knows, SME might begin to field the pinch even more if this third quarter report doesn’t speak better numbers. Another quarter of loses is not going to look very pretty. So, let them waste their money. As long as it is not JYJ’s money, I’m good to go. 😉

Just want to give a shout-out to European fans—-please REPRESENT!
I hear that many of you are choosing to wait for the German concert even though its a smaller venue (which means that your chances for a closer-view ticket will be less compared to the much larger Spanish one, peeps!) Don’t know about you but if I’m going to spend money to see JYJ live after being a fan forever, then if it is at all affordable I want to get the best, most up-close seating possible, darn it!
Also remember that 30 Korean media will be attending EXCLUSIVELY at this Spanish concert to cover it and also media from Taiwan, China, Japan and Francce. Considering that JYJ has NO music promotion opportunities in Korea and Japan at all for the year and a half, this is a golden promotion/publicity opportunity that simply cannot be overlooked. The fact that International media will also be covering it is a tremendous bonus since it lends true legitimacy to JYJ’s global branding.
However, think of how poorly it will reflect on JYJ’s reputation if the Spanish venue does not have a good showing even worse yet, how it may make the boys feel after they FINALLY agree to hold an European concert. Not to mention what a gorgeoud city Barcelona is.
So European fans—-Please show your love at BOTH concerts. Fighting!
I don’t think it’s that the fans don’t want to go to Spain but because for a lot of them it’s cheaper to attend a concert in Germany. And that’s the reason why a lot of fans are still waiting. I’m sure fans will go to Spain if they don’t get tickets for the German concert. And in the meanwhile it only gives standing tickets for the Spain concert now so there is nothing with better seats anymore ^^
Of course the Spain concert should be sold out but we have still 1 month to reach this goal, right ^^
I’m from Germany and I hope I can go to the German concert but I’m still figuring it out if I can go to the Spain one too ^^

I bought tix for the Barcelona tix already and I will also go to the Berlin concert if they open ticketing. Im moving to Holland from Asia soon and I dont care..it’s gonna be damn difficult for me to see their Asian concerts in the near foreseeable future so Im going to both concerts.

I just returned today from my 15 days vacation and the first thing I’ve done (even before open my luggages) was to buy my 2 tickets.
Unfortunately only standing tickets were available (my husband will kill me!!) but now I feel better (I worried that it was already sold out). All I have to do now is to look for a cheap hotel and fly ticket.

Welcome back my sister, missed you! Was wondering if you managed to get your tickets. Just a suggestion…if you have very tall umbrellas…take them with you. When your back gets tired, lean on them. This helps relieve the strain on your back. Also, while standing, bend your knees slightly. This also helps with the back strain. Being a champion of large size rallies and standing for a very long time in a crowd of 2 million people, one picks up little tidbits. 🙂

Since I suck at editing and didn’t want it to end in another TL:DR post, my comments actually seemed like I was criticizing E-fans of thoughtlessly choosing 1 venue over the other or pressuring them to do so; which was certainly not what I intended to say. hey guys…I know this debate was quite heated in another thread: about Junsu winning the best vocal poll…but honestly…why does JJ’s fans are flipping about it? I know and honestly love Jaejoong’s voice but I think it’s inconsiderate for fans to say that Jaejoong should stay in Japan/China etc just because he could do better…please…I remember early of the year when Yoochun’s fans were saying that Yoochun would be better off without the other two and it hurts my feelings to no end. I am a JYJ fan and even if I do tend to like Yoochun a bit more-I think it’s not up to us to say ‘Oh…Chun should go solo’ or ‘Jaejoong would be more successful if he’s a solo’ or ‘Junsu would make it big if he’s alone’.
I think they proved it more than once that they need each other…together-they are stronger…JYJ is their home. Jaejoong said that..and I’m sure Yoochun and Junsu feels the same way too. and for their happiness…I don’t think you should be selfish and demand whatever you think is right just because you’re …’s fan. It’s their life and happiness…I think love is making the person we love happy and not make him/her do what we want right?

I’m going to go way, way out on a limb here and say this: at least for as long as there is a JYJ, Chunnie will NEVER go solo. We JYJ fans know that all we have to do is think a minute to realize that he LOVES his fellow members and what is more, he relies on them. Like family because they have become family, they all lean on each other in a multitude of ways–they all shore each other up when they are feeling low. As The Three the combined strength they have as a unit is really are unstoppable. They each depend on the considerable talents of the other two. I don’t think they’ll be changing that anytime soon.
I think some junsu fans doing the same to like YC and JJ fans has done since they are still in dbsk5 and now JYJ..saying junsu just waste his talent if he still stuck with his members, this typical fans will always there and we know them as “individual fans” they are exist since dbsk era but it’s just this time they begin to show themselves, thats way beside their solo work i hope we can see more their group work because they are really great when they are together.

I think what jj fans were trying to say is that jj singing abilities are not that recognized in korea and when it comes to the vocal,, the talk would just consider junsu,, i actually was very happy when i saw junsu wining the first place but i cant say that i was not a bit angry that jj was not included in the list,, it is not that i think he is better than junsu or the other way around,, it is just that im sure he was better than almost everyone on the list,, but again i am very proud of junsu for rising jyj name even higher..

Actually JJ was not on the list because they chose only one vocalist from each group to nominate. Since Junsu is already on the list, they won’t include JJ. It’s not because they think JJ is not better than others on the list. So don’t be too upset about it. This poll is not even from Korea and It’s just a poll among i-fans. But some people started to say they want JJ to stay in Japan etc. sigh…

Yes, Immature Fans raise their ugly heads once again. How lame. Junsu, for those of you just joining us, is a GREAT singer. Not good, not competent, GREAT. What Junsu has, you can’t “learn” if you start as a child and study like crazy all your life. He has a gift from God. A vocal quality, unique to him, that cannot be learned. I’m a big fan of jaejoong’s as anybody who has been here on JYJ3 for more than 2 consecutive days can readily attest. I love his voice and the way he has learned to use it. He is also a stylist, a unique “vocal quality” that appeals, far and wide. What would be THE LAST THING these two great talents would want? Well, I’ll tell you. Fighting and disparaging the other singer as to their talents. These two LOVE each other. They depend on each other. How HORRIFIC that there are people out there who are denigrating Junsu’s win. Jaejoong would be the FIRST IN LINE TO SAY ‘THIS IS WRONG’, I can guarantee you that.

Oh, yes, I do too. He’s adorable. I also loved him in “You’re Beautiful.” But I’ve seen him sing, in informal settings, live, etc. He can, just barely. For him to have placed 4th in that poll is laughable. There are some GREAT singers in Korea. (Jung Dong Ha comes immediately to mind.) Put those two up against each other and see who comes out in front.

I understand your frustration about Junsu’s situation, but having him not be considered because of this factor is IMHO not the way to go. Why? The man cannot help having the beautiful voice he has. Of the three, Su I believe is the one with the most training. So, he has had a chance to perfect his ‘instrument’ longer. Jaejoong and Yoochun have their own unique voices.
Others who have a problem, are obviously not savvy enough, to understand what the bond is between the three of these guys. They each champion the other. If these sourgrapes were more aware, they would get it. Listening to their songs, you know how much they love singing together. Not having him be listed for awards, to be unable to win is like giving in to extortion, NOT HAPPENING HERE!
There is no jealousy amongst the three of them. That is where we must take our cue.

He may have perfected it with practise, but what he has, his voice, is a gift from God, pure and simple, it cannot be learned or taught. Certainly he has trained hard and long. But let’s never forget that Junsu has a one-in-a-million voice. It is thrilling for me to watch him open his mouth and hear him begin to sing. His voice is a national treasure.

Yes, my sister I agree wholeheartedly, it is indeed a gift. That’s why my critique of his LIVE rendition of ‘I Can Soar’, reads the way it does. That young brother can reach depths mere mortals don’t even know exist. That song was tailor made for Junsu. The lyrics fit him to a ‘T’, and his music for the song, again shows what dynamic composition skills he possesses. I still get goosebumps replaying his performance in my mind. 🙂
I guess what I’m referring to is about the music knowledge. Junsu is the only one of the three who reads music, at the present time. Therefore, technique wise he has an edge because he knows what the notes mean. He just simply had an earlier exposure to this aspect. It can’t be but a help in dissecting a song, and how it should be sung.

On December 21st 2010 the Courts declared Han Geng the winner of his case against SM, at that time SM declared that “they can not accept the decision” and filed an appeal attempting to get the courts to overturn the decision roughly 2 weeks (?) later. I don’t really remember the exact date. No major news sources really reported about it, so maybe a lot of ppl never knew that SME appealed.
So the technically Han Geng hasn’t exactly won the case yet due to SME appealing. However, since he has the court decision made on December 21st to back him up, his contract with SME is considered invalid unless SME wins the appeal. However, his contract would still exist unless SME looses or drops the appeal. (If anyone still searches Han Geng on naver, they will see that he is still listed as under SME, this is because, due to SME appealing the court’s first decision, Han Geng’s contract with SME still exist, he just is not bound by it until further court notice. Naver has stated after an inquiry that when Han Geng officially wins the appeal, they will remove SME as his company.)
This new thing that Han Geng just filed is requesting the courts to drop SME’s appeal since it’s not going anywhere. Meaning it’s pretty much asking the court to declare SME’s appeal invalid. If Han Geng’s petition is granted, then SME will be forced to drop the case, and the first court decision, which is Han Geng winning the case will remain. Meaning that if he wins this case he would be officially free of SME.
This new thing Han Geng is filing is pretty much him say to the courts that he’s doesn’t want to waste time with SME anymore and he thinks SME’s appeal is ridiculous so he can officially be free.

This makes perfect sense to me and I really hope the courts drop SM’s appeal. It is indeed ridiculous and clearly Allkpop wasn’t going to get it right cause AllKpop is Allkshit. You can’t expect much coherent articles from these people, especially about serious issues. They are only good when they are indirectly bashing, skewing information or yacking about their “hot” biases.

i’ve spent less time on omonatheydidnt for a long while (just like with some kpop fandom update sites) and from my memory of ‘past omonatheydidnt’, this community sounded calm / cool spazzing and logical in general. but now, even when backtracking post by post for recent months, why most posts have filled with either full-pledged hatred + non-sense comments or ‘hollier than thou’ acts? O,O
even some mods there now sound exactly like some ‘elite high-level members’ in k-fansites.
more ridiculous is that in many cases, a given post now appears to adopt extreme solitude as peace-making solution, filling only with stans (yes, exactly stan verbatim) of people mentioned in that post only, except for well, wank post (and wank post happens so frequent – just like allkpop’s crowd). and mods there approve such a method O,O

or scratch that, with an increasing number of kpop sites raising like mushrooms after the rain on net, which site(s) can give off the ‘calm and logical / cool spazzing without mindless argument’ aura? i swear among 50-60 kpop sites i used to follow and can count now, none seems to give not-misleading / mistranslated / omitted kpop updates nowadays. or you should follow fandom sites separately and closely to get accurate & updated info on certain celeb TT______TT

The first time I watched live performance of ‘Don’t Say Goodbye’ two years ago, I fell in love with his voice…the song has brought me to TVXQ5..junsu really nailed the song
Yeah although he doesn’t have the most singing parts in this song (in fact the parts are spread out quite evenly among the 5), but when it’s his turn, you can’t help but be attracted to that voice. I got goosebumps the first time i heard him sing this..

Fave performances? Hmm… For me they are still tied up in the songs… For Jaejoong, probably “Forgive Me” from the “Legend” OST or “Shelter” or “Waiting For So Long” – I just love that whole song and everything about it. I must say he did an awesome job on “I Will Protect You” too. I admire it greatly.
For Junsu – “I also love his performance of “Beautiful Thing.” That’s really all I’d need to hear to know what a great singer he is.
For Chunnie–kind of a sentimental favorite – “My Girlfriend.” This song/performance has so much charm and Chunnieness that again, it’s all I’d need to hear to Know. Of course he was also on “Shelter” with Jae… Oh wait–there’s a background vocal part on “Love Is Never Gone” that is pure Chunnieness. It used to send shivers up my spine listening to him sing “Nan Gaa To Goooo” lol I don’t listen to their old stuff too much anymore. Too much good stuff from JYJ, I guess. So thanks for encouraging me to take me on a short but lovely trip down Memory Lane.

“The Beginning” is like the finest whisky; the more aged, the better it becomes. In fact, all JYJ’s music is like that. So, it happens to me as well my dear @Jen.

Yes! I’m a believer. It’s all favorite stuff for me now. At first few listenings, I was upset that perhaps their U.S. producers hadn’t given them their best. That pissed me off because I’m from L.A., I wrote songs for years and I know what JYJ had, talent-wise and credibility-wise. They are The Heaviest of The Heavyweights. Only the tippy top of the record heap here in the U.S. can be looking at the kind of numbers that JYJ do, every time out. So I was insulted and upset. But on subsequent listenings, I have to say, the songs grew on me (it was never about JYJ’s performances, and I found it was mostly about the really spare instrumental arrangements/ tracks.)
But now, I like “The Beginning”, always keeping in mind that this album was indeed The Beginning, not the penultimate. And thanks once again to Butterfliesarefee, for encouraging me to keep listening to it. 🙂
Yeah Libi, your finally liking it. I knew you would once you sat back, and realized it was the beginning for them. Because you were in the business, you know what perfection is; so you had a hard time accepting this album. I knew if you kept listening to it, it would grow on you. Me, not being in the business LOVED IT the first time I heard it, and knew it would be a favorite of mine for all time. They did a dam good job with what they had to work with, and even my non kpop friends liked the album. Their English wasn’t perfect, but still you can understand what they are singing. Each time they did a concert, they so much improved their pronunciation of our language. Just want to say, you made my day, thanks.

I agree with you both. When I first listened to The Beginning songs, I had to depend on English subs to understand what they were singing. Maybe Yu Chun’s pronunication is a bit easier to understand as he had lived in the US before. That took the joy out of appreciating their music.
It’s odd that when I listen to their Korean songs, I love it even when I dont understand a word of it.But when it comes to a language I udnerstand, I get ” technical”. So, Lillibaiyu, I can imagine you are in a worse situation than me when you listen with a keen professional eye,looking out for technical details like arrangement etc.
But over the one year, I tried listening to their Englsh songs with my heart instead of my head, and the songs really grow on me, just like what ro1499 said.

I listen to this and agree “with all my heart” that Yu Chun has a unique voice. He may never be voted the Best Voice in Korea but there is something about his voice that is maddening attractive. Maybe it is a “bedroom voice” type. But the first time I heard his narration in ” Miduhyo “( I believe), I nearly died !
I could’t believe what I heard. How could a 18 year old boy sound this suave and sexy? It’s criminal.
But having said that, I still love Junsu’s and JJ’s voices very much. Their quality needs no elaboration. These two are so gifted,I am so glad these are the three guys who came together as JYJ.Thank God for that combination.

Confession Time for me – just to let you know I listen to JS’s “Beautiful Thing” DAILY since Dec 2010. I thought it was one of the most beautiful things I have come across in my life.That boy was born to sing. And he made it sound like this song was written for him alone..
I am amazed how he could always interpret a song so differently from others.For instance, I love to listen to his Karaoke version of “Secret Garden” despite its less than perfect, non studio quality.
