JYJ is #1 for the September Gaon Album Charts. Broke 350,000 Copies
Group JYJ has ranked #1 on the album sales chart for the month of September and displayed its potential.
Gaon Chart totals the recorded numbers from domestic digital music sites and distributers and announces the figures. According to Gaon, In Heaven, the first Korean-language album released by JYJ on the 28th of the last month, has recorded 165,000 copies sold cumulatively.
This is the first time that Gaon Chart has totaled and announced the official sales figures on a JYJ album. JYJ beat out albums from Kara, Super Junior and Infinite on the September Cumulative Charts and recorded the highest figure for the copies sold.
Because the distributer firm A&G Modes was not a member company of Gaon Chart, JYJ’s album was unable to be totaled real-time. There has been negotiation with the distributor firm with regards to the number of albums sold and the application of the number onto the chart and so Gaon has come to announce the final results.
Previously, Gaon Chart had revealed through its official webpage: “The negotiations with JYJ’s (album) distributor, A&G Modes, is currently ongoing. If we are early, then from October 10th the data for the copies sold for the month of September will be reflected.”
Currently, JYJ’s album In Heaven has broke a total of 350,000 in copies sold. An affiliate of JYJ’s agency told Star News: “We had a situation of being short/out-of-stock nationwide, such as selling 165,000 copies within 3 days of release. As of now – October – we have sold over 350,000 copies. The results for the future is also gathering anticipations.”
