So THERE’S your sign, girlfriend! (We knew it would surface again sooner or later, right? 🙂 )
And @mizzyjyj501
“hope LSM gets to see it and fume like a mad horse coz they’ve been f**** by European fans!”
Yes, I agree; I hope the powers that be at SM have a gastric attack this very night at seeing this to rival any gut-wrenching miseries anywhere. Suffer, you bastards. I hope your insides turn inside out at the realization that those renegade ingrates JYJ have gone and made true your worst fears. They have survived and prospered WITHOUT YOU.
@lilibaiyu The sad thing is that compared to SM’s total fail attempts in other countries (if I do not recall from one of our previous conversations about the nature of their Paris concert & free concerts), it seems JYJ is warmly received :p And SM should seriously wet their pants upon seeing that sign! Gosh, I love the girl who had the gall to put up that sign!
can someone explain more explicitly what was wrong with sm paris concert? did they fail to sell enough tickets? i heard they got bagged out by the paris media? is that true?
@JJbiased
“can someone explain more explicitly what was wrong with sm paris concert? ”
Well, I’m no expert on Homin doings in general, but I think I have a few of the facts right. It’s not that the concerts were badly attended, I think they were full, because lets face it, they had like 6 different SM acts on the bill. The acts probably got to sing and/or lip-sync to 3 or 4 songs each. And it wasn’t that the Asian fans weren’t happy, because I’m sure that they were. [I followed a link on AllK-Pop at the time and watched a couple of minutes of SHINee and TVX2. Both acts were plagued with sound problems and sang consistently off pitch. It was not good. SHINee especially appeared freaked out and performed hesitantly. I felt bad for them.]
Anyway, the real problems arose from reviews by the French press, who apparently weren’t buying the premise that I happen to believe is true, that I have learned the hard way, which is that you can never, never, NEVER critique K-Pop acts or say anything bad about them in any way. The press there was less than enthused by what they saw and heard and said so. Having seen the videos, I can understand that unless you were walking in the door as a fan, you were not going to leave impressed. But LSM just went ahead anyway and released his standard glowing reportage of his acts and the concert in general when they returned to Korea. He believes in MAKING the news, I guess. Quite literally.
Yeah Yeah, me too!!!!! That was the no.1 thing that caught my eye~~ Hahaha!!~ I was like LOL-ing and opening my eyes wide when I saw the sign~~ Woohoo!!! Wonder if Mr. Editor who chose the picture didn’t notice the sign or did he purposely left it there without cropping it off?? Haha!! Anyhow, I’m just glad to see Europe fans f***ing SM!!~ Yoooohoooo!!!!
Whooohoo! Was this picture splashed all over the papers? Good job on the sign, the only two words that best sum up how we all feel about this company 😀
kekeke……it’s the first thing that i saw when i look at those scans ^^
i give my thumbs up to those girl n the journalis/ photographer (err i don’t know what should i call them) who dare to post those pics in their newspaper
haha
this photo is being spreading so rapidly *jump in joy*
anybody know the name of this Korean newspaper???
I want to give them a big hug and compliment ^^
I wouldn’t know if the publication of this photo was an oversight or deliberate by the press. I certainly hope it’s the latter. S. Korea, your most beloved entertainment chaebol is a national disgrace.
I’m sure they’ve seen it already. Pee Pee SM must be burning in anger by now; Maybe his anger could transform into a real fire; one that were able to consume him, lol.
Oh, okay I see it now. Definitely giving the girl some kudos and brownie points. I wonder if the non-English speakers who’ll read this paper will understand what that means.
If they recognize the logo, they’ll know what it means. Fuck is international. And I think that the logo was a good choice because there can be no doubt about who is being cursed, standard lettering could be open to interpretation.
LOL-ing hard!!!~~ Yeap, you r right, we should send flowers~~~~ I’d like to think the photo editor left the F*** sign intact just to discreetly spite(in lack of a better word) SM!!~ Haha!
My goodness, there was more than one ‘F**K SM’ sign. I saw another one that was made out of cardboard as well. However that one was in another photo. I don’t think it was the same one because it was a bit larger than this one. Maybe there is a cottage industry over there for the signs. 🙂
For sure, I will bring two banners if I get the chance to see JYJ, one for ‘I love you JYJ’ and the other for ‘F*** you SM’. That’s pretty fair right… lol
K-pop mosun – as they say in Korean. Where do they get giving credit to K-pop for this. It is JYJ’s fans. Anyway, at least JYJ gets credit for still being part of K-pop, contrary to what someone (SM-KBS-Melon awards etc.) would have everyone believe.
Way to go European fans!!!! Those girls in the front row are now famous in Korea, lol. I’m glad to see that so many of the fans look to be European – just b/c it shows that their music really does transcend language, nationality, etc. The more fans the better!! (AND they didn’t need to perform with a bunch of other groups to draw a crowd)
DAE to the BAK! 😀
Oh, and HAHAHA about the SM sign…maybe the photo editor didn’t know that word (or maybe s/he did, in which case, that person is awesome).
Someone make banners like this in Berlin too. And please ban those Yunjae shippers! Silent them from shouting Yunho everytime JJ’s speaking, and tear up all those yunjae banners!!!!! ò_ó
Yes girls. Those shipper were right behind me. There were TVXQ suporters too, with banners and such. Luckyly, people in first row said that they didn’t hear anything improper.
Euro fans sure did start a new trend with that Fuck SM banner…daebak…and oh so true! someone’s gonna be in trouble for not cropping that out..but wth! I’m so happy they include that pic..for all the world to see….
oh my… salute for the girl with Fu*k SM hahaha… i feel like circling it with a big red marker and send it to LSM and SME office, and since i know LSM understand English, i really feel like watching his face, LOL!!!
Spanish fans, Dae to the Bak!!!
LOL If I could, I would kiss and hug the girl who bring the F*ck SM sign! LOL LOL LOL!!!!
Btw, I kinda feel offended with the K-pop power etc2 the korean media is currently bragging about…
See, I don’t consider JYJ a K-pop star anymore… They are an international group who come from korea… Do u get it korean media? Oh yes, JYJ r korean, they debuted in korea, they were known through a korean group (a massive korean group), but how can u brag about JYJ bringing the hallyu wave when u don’t even give them air time in their own country?
“how can u brag about JYJ bringing the hallyu wave when u don’t even give them air time in their own country?”
MTE. If they take pride in JYJ’s accomplishments as Koreans overseas, (I’m sure JYJ are proud, as they should be) then how can they AT THE SAME TIME express NO outrage that they are being treated SO poorly at home? As a commenter noted above, JYJ’s accomplishments are IN SPITE OF the corrupt industry and institutions in Korea, which makes their success all the more remarkable, but also UNIQUE TO THEM.
Sorry for the repeated use of all caps, but GAHH I just wish people/media understood the difference between JYJ and other kpop groups.
This is the kind of thing that is going to happen to JYJ during this next period of time. The S.Korean press is going to welcome and claim as SK’s own the good works, the praise for their music, etc etc while continuing to turn a blind eye to the media blocking and larger issue of obvious collusion between a government run TV network and a large company run by a known felon with a king-sized grudge.
This is the main problem I see with the press there and the powers-that-be in SK as a whole. They only want to report and hear good news. They only want news that boosts SK’s opinion of itself. They ALL want to suppress anything that hints at a “dark underbelly.” They are all trying to “get ahead” in the world marketplace. They are prestige junkies–they can’t get enough of the stuff. Completely violate the rights and trample on the livelihoods of 3 talented young men who are arguably the best of what SK has to offer the world right now?? No problem. Their story is too illustrative of too much that is wrong inside corporate SK. LSM’s “great business model” for cranking out K-Pop groups is way too close to child-endangerment, exploitation, out and out embezzlement and quite frankly, brainwashing. Since it would be far too embarrassing for the country to admit that one of the biggest and most successful entertainment companies going does such things, EVERYBODY’S solution to the problem is to ignore the facts, stick their heads in the sand and simply pretend not to notice.
The ‘Fuck SM’ sign is such a nice touch. Beautiful, really, because it solidifies and affirms the fact that there is a hate-on on SM. I don’t know if it’s just me but sometimes, I get the feeling (through reading between the lines in the translated news from Korea, how there is still shock expressed over JYJ’s sell power) that there has been doubt over the number of fans JYJ had internationally and how informed they are of the situation in S. Korea.
But this. This says it all. It tells you that at least a portion of their target foreign K-pop audience knows of SM’s ultra shady dealings and their bad reputation. So yea, K-entertainment business, you still want a company with a bad reputation to ‘spearhead’ the ‘Hallyu Wave’ that they so arrogantly claimed they fabricated?
I get that feeling too…..that SM and much of the Korean media believe that whatever goes in SM press releases will be automatically accepted, internationally especially. It’s as though they don’t realize that there are, you know, other ways to obtain information, and all their dirty little secrets aren’t safe inside Korea.
Yeah. If we lived in an ideal world, the best way to demonstrate displeasure over SM is to have a mass boycott over SMTOWN but that’s never going to happen because the fans of other groups will only look at the short term loss (the embarrassment their ‘oppa’ and ‘unnies’ will have to deal with even though the boycott is directed at SM only) and not think about the long term gain (where boycott may push for baby-step reform over the K-pop industry monopoly)
But yeah…I think SM is gradually tipping the scales to JYJ’s favour anyway because they constantly shoot themselves in the feet with their obvious underhanded dealings, their egocentric interviews, and shafting their current roster with underwhelming, rehashed songs and MVs. You can spoon feed the same shit so many times and when even fans start to question (like ELFs and even a portion of SONES) then you know you’re doing something wrong =.=
Yup. One thing the entire Kpop industry has been extremely successful at accomplishing is blind loyalty. And it is definitely calculated – that way, the person becomes the product, rather than the music, because you can only sell so much music.
The formula has worked in Japan and other parts of Asia, but I don’t see it working in places where the music has to come *first,* before the other media coverage, before singers become celebrities. And I think this is especially true in places like the US where we do have a certain mistrust for large, opaque corporations that tell us what we should like. We’re okay with it as long as the company stays hidden, but when it is front and center, we tend to look at it askance (LOL doesn’t entirely make sense, but still true).
Anyway this is all to say that JYJ have the upper hand because they are tremendously talented writers and singers – they have the ability to draw in fans without having to project their image first. 😀
***Also I don’t mean to imply that any group of fans is more/less discerning than another, just that the ability of SM and other agencies to infiltrate the media in places like the US is severely limited.
Yea. I really don’t like the blind loyalty. Sometimes, I just want to physically shake those types of fans awake. I mean, there’s fangirling and then there’s FANGIRLING. You need to know when and where to draw lines before your ‘fangirl/boying’ affects your own moral values and ideas. I don’t know…Sometimes it’s like they eat up everything thrown at them without actually logically processing through it.
But I totally agree about US having that mistrust against corporations (lol for some reason, talking about this makes me want to listen to “Fight The Power” by Public Enemy XD). IMO, it’s because the social culture here is more free than South Korea and people can freely express their suspicions. With S. Korea, I feel that it’s still taboo to verbally/publicly go against the chaebols who are likely the ones that pillar the economy. And you know, this type of monopoly is kinda dangerous, especially with the shaky outlook of the world economy.
Yes…JYJ has talent in spades with a large supportive fanbase and they’re also branching off to different areas to ensure that they’re mainstays in the industry. This is why they’ll have longevity even as the other idols fizzle out because they do not have a Plan B.
The F**K SM sign was a brilliant touch for Spanish fans( they understand what JYJ’s own countrymen don’t seem to want to); you don’t screw over some one and think nobody’s going to notice!
I hope the f sm sign does not become a trend it is a bit tasteless regardless of how people feel about the company, profanity laced signs at a JYJ concert is unacceptable. The JYJ bus signs are effective not profanity signs
So your strategy would be to maintain your decorum and just hope that SM will notice what polite and well-behaved fans JYJ has and out of the kindness of their hearts lift all the restrictions on their activities?
lol No offense, but I think you’re going to have a tough time selling that plan to the hot-blooded ninja warriors here at JYJ3. 🙂
Ppl going to jyj concerts, consider using the ‘fu*k sm’banner more,it look appealing. It would be more fantastic during the so called sm family concerts, wow, exciting..
kpopwave.oinsmsn.com hey we have to vote for jyj from this page. But you should sing in for vote, here there is tutorial jyj3(.)net/2011/10/29/info-gda-voting-tutorial-lets-vote-for-jyj/

xDDDDD I was present on the process of making the F*** SM banner 🙂 And I feel so proud of it! My friend really did get the point here. Lucky we got to appear on the newspaper. So proud. Hope SM gets the message 😉
..hmm..for me there is two or even more ways to look at f**k sm sign..first is,of course is lol and dae-to the-bak,that girl/people who held those signs rock..
..but from the other side..hmm..boys singing their hearts out looking at the crowd and there it is-f**k sm -sign that shows their fans attitude and at the same time it reminds them of their greatest foe,i don’t know how they feels, but if it was me singing my heart out, being high (i do believe that they are high/full with positive energy during the concerts) and then seeing sm sign-well it’s kind of puts one to the ground..but then again i don’t know how they feel, maybe they feels even higher after seeing that kind of sign..
..also knowing sm stans it will definitely come back as sign with f JYJ at sm town concert..
..so i have dual feeling about this f**k sm sign..
..yea,and my english is definitely engjyjish-not so good right now..pardon me..
Freedom of speech does not require one to be afraid to voice your opinion. No matter where you are, you have a right to express yourself. If you go through life concerned “someone else” will retaliate with one of their own. So be it. There is nothing that says this or any other signs were waved in the faces of the guys during the concert. Those who had the signs saw photogs, and used the oppotunity to EXPRESS THEMSELVES FREELY.
For those fans of SM acts, who don’t get that SM is screwing over their favorite artists, then that is their problem. LSM/SME can try and pull the wool over the eyes of the media in SK, but they cannot control the worldwide media. Nor can they control or dictate what fans of JYJ think and feel. The certainly don’t control this fan.
My thoughts exactly…”F**k-off, no more talk!” If it’s good enough for Chunnie, it’s good enough for the fans! Who did they think he was talking to?
I dont think folks quite get it…these photos are taken while people were waiting to get into the venue. The difference is in the amount of daylight. If you saw on Twitter, by the time the first group of people were let in, it was already getting dark. No way were the guys going to be able to read non-neon signage. Please.
Besides, SM needs to know in no uncertain terms how people feel about them. Will it change their habits. I seriously doubt it. But they will be constantly reminded…this fandom is not taking the BS they are dishing out. We are always going to have JYJ’s back! So, European fans, YOU ROCK!
@BAF
“Besides, SM needs to know in no uncertain terms how people feel about them. Will it change their habits. I seriously doubt it. But they will be constantly reminded…this fandom is not taking the BS they are dishing out. We are always going to have JYJ’s back! So, European fans, YOU ROCK!”
So true. If we only do one thing, it’s to tell SM in no uncertain terms “You can’t brainwash us, you bastards! We’re not buying what you’ve been selling! And we’re going to shout it from the rooftops–you’re a corrupt enterprise and a menace to SK’s young! If you want us to go away, the only way that’s going to happen is if you LET GO of our boys!!”
“If it’s good enough for Chunnie, it’s good enough for the fans. Who did they think he was talking to?”
This!! ^______^
I know everyone feels differently about profanity (I actually ‘swear’ more in here than I do in real life!) But for those who are saying that JYJ can sing/shout F*** Off in their songs & concerts, but fans shouldn’t hold up signs saying the same to sm? Hypocrisy much? Something JYJ obviously aren’t interested in. Esp not with the way Chunnie absolutely relishes yelling out F*** Off whenever they sing Get Out!! 😉
I love the “FUCK SM” banner.. You Go Girl
nado nado! hope LSM gets to see it and fume like a mad horse coz they’ve been f**** by European fans!
hahaha…LOL… i wanna see LSM reaction when he reads it….. maybe he will like “Man who has beard was burn”
hahhaha…..you’re right dear…
i wanna see LSM reaction too….^^
mee too… i hate sm so much !!
i wonder if the korean newspaper know what does that mean. lol

@Eliza……exact color of the logo too….brilliant!
HA! Who’s the photo editor of the first paper? We need to send flowers. 😀
I’m not expecting much TV coverage, but the newspapers seem to be doing their job. Fantastic pictures and good sized articles from the look of it.
LOL-ing hard!!!~~ Yeap, you r right, we should send flowers~~~~ I’d like to think the photo editor left the F*** sign intact just to discreetly spite(in lack of a better word) SM!!~ Haha!

You were there, did you hear those?
Really? There were still YunJae shippers (and shouters) in the concert? Aww D:
Yes girls. Those shipper were right behind me. There were TVXQ suporters too, with banners and such. Luckyly, people in first row said that they didn’t hear anything improper.
JYJ what can say, other than I♥u and keep fighting!
OH YEAH, FUCK YOU SM BANNER. You go girl!
I’m surprised the newspaper allowed that.
Maybe the newspaper is tired of SM’s shit too…… They’re only taking the chance to express their feelings….. 😉
No surprise…this, SOUTH KOREA is what FREEDOM OF SPEECH LOOKS LIKE! Not freedom for some, and not for others.
Euro fans sure did start a new trend with that Fuck SM banner…daebak…and oh so true! someone’s gonna be in trouble for not cropping that out..but wth! I’m so happy they include that pic..for all the world to see….
I am very surprised Korean newspapers chose to publish that photo!!! Yeah!!!! And yes, f**k SM!
I bet they don’t have any idea what it meant or that it skipped their eyes!
love those fuck SM banner yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

THIS! What my VE Sister said. 😉
Heh. What a joke.
A+
I get that feeling too…..that SM and much of the Korean media believe that whatever goes in SM press releases will be automatically accepted, internationally especially.
@luvjaechunsu
Love so much the girl who bought the banner “FUCK SM” dae to the Back… hope LSM read it….ahahhaha…
plz Fangirls next time make banner with “FUCK SM & KBS” this will be super EPIC ^^
If yhey come to south america I will bring a huge sign like this “F**k u SM! ╭∩╮(︶︿︶)╭∩╮”

The girl with FUCK SM BANNER is Dae-to-the-Back. I love you!!!!! What a kick ass!
LOL….
FUCK SM…..it’s great fans….
if JYJ concert in my country i will do it too…
JYJ D2TB
The F**K SM sign was a brilliant touch for Spanish fans( they understand what JYJ’s own countrymen don’t seem to want to); you don’t screw over some one and think nobody’s going to notice!
I hope the f sm sign does not become a trend it is a bit tasteless regardless of how people feel about the company, profanity laced signs at a JYJ concert is unacceptable. The JYJ bus signs are effective not profanity signs
I agree.
@Daisy
@#lyg
So your strategy would be to maintain your decorum and just hope that SM will notice what polite and well-behaved fans JYJ has and out of the kindness of their hearts lift all the restrictions on their activities?
lol No offense, but I think you’re going to have a tough time selling that plan to the hot-blooded ninja warriors here at JYJ3. 🙂
haha ~ they didn’t censored that F*ck SM ! haha funny
Ppl going to jyj concerts, consider using the ‘fu*k sm’banner more,it look appealing. It would be more fantastic during the so called sm family concerts, wow, exciting..

@Marta
You’re my new hero!
xxoo
..hmm..for me there is two or even more ways to look at f**k sm sign..first is,of course is lol and dae-to the-bak,that girl/people who held those signs rock..
..but from the other side..hmm..boys singing their hearts out looking at the crowd and there it is-f**k sm -sign that shows their fans attitude and at the same time it reminds them of their greatest foe,i don’t know how they feels, but if it was me singing my heart out, being high (i do believe that they are high/full with positive energy during the concerts) and then seeing sm sign-well it’s kind of puts one to the ground..but then again i don’t know how they feel, maybe they feels even higher after seeing that kind of sign..
..also knowing sm stans it will definitely come back as sign with f JYJ at sm town concert..
..so i have dual feeling about this f**k sm sign..
..yea,and my english is definitely engjyjish-not so good right now..pardon me..
Mommy-hen, I think Chunnie would have had a good chortle if he’d seen this sign!!
@BAF

i found FUCK SM..hahaha
