‘JYJ European Tour in Barcelona’, even the professional photography team became puzzled by [JYJ’s] energetic moves. “We’re sorry. There is no photo.”
On the 29th (local time), after the ‘JYJ European Tour in Barcelona’ has ended, the organizer unusually apologized to the reporters because there were very few photos of all the members Kim Junsu, Kim Jaejoong and Park Yoochun. Except for the two photos of them singing a ballad, there was actually no photo of them dancing.
The organizer said, “The dance moves of the members were more intense than ever. We have tried hard but we couldn’t get a single shot. Even the professional photography team that has accompanied them in the North American Tour was abashed.”
What was so different this time that they couldn’t capture photos of the members? The members have expressed determined willingness to hold this concert. Since it was decided that it would be a relatively small concert (3,000 people), they said, as if it was a habit, “We’re going to get back to the basics.” Just like those words, on the stage, they didn’t think about their own, and just jumped and danced.
“It’s true that the stage is small, but it has a different meaning. In Korea or in Japan, we have also started from small things and with that basis, the love of our fans has grown. I think the first concert in Europe is also a good beginning. Rather than a bombastic concert in Europe, we want to set foot on a small stage first, with a heart that wants to start again from the beginning.” Those are Kim Jaejoong’s words.
The stage that we saw with our own eyes was far from glamorous. Protruding or pumping stage, even LED screen couldn’t be expected. Fireworks on stage has also disappeared. Sometimes, the effect of CO2 sprang, but that was all. Only the light that was shining on the old castle from afar added as flavor.
But it was not unsuccessful. Fans that joined them there also differed from any other shows. With the shout of 100 warriors, they provided support to JYJ’s new start. JYJ really had such a vibrant concert that the professional photography team couldn’t properly capture with their camera. A French student who watched the show that day said, “I think this is the first time I see the members try so hard to sing and dance like that. Regardless of stage scale, fans were greatly impressed.”

I always love how he answers this kind of question =)
me too. this is from his heart and show his constand thinking of fans and loving them and doing their best for them. we don’t need the pretty frills, just the privilege of sharing a night of awesomeness with them.
Ehhhh….what about the fan pics? o_0
LOL! Regardless…REALLY proud of our JYJ 😀
@Bluefyre
LOL! was wondering about that too….does that mean JYJers are more “professional” photographers than the professional?..kekeke…coz they sure were able to capture some nice “dancing” photos..a little bit blurry maybe, but a professional not to capture anything…? *wonders
IKR? Haha. They really should learn from the fan photographers. REALLY. 😀
THIS! 🙂
+1!
They’re professionals not amateurs. If these were to be published in print ad they have to look profession. Please think about that.
Fan photographers 대 to the 박!!
I think they were just enjoying the concert too much and forgot to take photos! 😛
I totally agree. I think they forgot that they’re their to take photographs but they forgot about it until the concert was over and saw the camera hanging on their necks…
lol!! i completely agree with you!! :))
@JYJfanboy what a good word
“they forgot that they’re their to take photographs but they forgot about it until the concert was over and saw the camera hanging on their necks…”
lolol I think you guys nailed it. the photogs zoned out into JYJ Heaven….
Photographers are having a difficult time multitasking! Learn from the fans!
I hope not from me! Lol. I totally forgot about my camera right when the concert started XDDD Didn’t take a single photo x_D
this is what im thinking of..the photographers might say..forget about the photos..lets enjoy the show first, who knows when are they coming back again..we can just say sorry and be forgiven..
They could have just admitted that ” they came as professional photographers, but they went home as JYJ FANS!!!”
That would have settled it fast 🙂
haha LOL.. so the fans have more professional skill than the photographers there? aha XD
We are sorry we danced so vigorously. ROFL
Not a lot of people can say that. Precious FEW can say that 😀
It had to be JYJ.
@MIA2
“We are sorry we danced so vigorously…” THIS!! LMAO!!!
HAHAHA This is so ridiculous, but sooooo cute! ❤
awww
¡Ahhhhhh! ¡Spectacular! JYJ dancing moves were so vigorous that even the professional photographers couldn’t capture a single shot. ¡Well, TO US FANS TO REJOICE ON THEIR SENSUALITY!! Barcelona’s was a very special concert, full of love and warmth. And I loved to see that JYJ enjoyed greatly this performance as well as their fans. ¡JYJ fighting! 😀
LOL… thats my boys.. they always energetic.. PROUD fangirl here…
“…with a heart that wants to start again from the beginning.”
YES please… I pray that JYJ will always have a heart like this, may it be an audience of 40,000 or 3,000. Stay humble and keep that passion to be better and better but also to always have yearning of a beginner.
^____________________^
Even if it’s a small vanue they always give their all *proud*
You have to admit while being a JYJ fan you gain superior camera and recording skills along with agility. Professional Photographers need to study JYJ fans if they want to upgrade their tactics.
That’s right….lightstick waving with left hand…..camera being held high with right hand.. click ! click! . record..(pictures and fancams turn out great) ..singing along and dancing and drooling and panting all at the same time…JYJ fans are the greatest!
hahahaha that´s cute! ;-D
@ail221
Hello my dear friend; so nice to see you.
Not only that baby, not only that. Many other “spicy”, “tasty” and meaninful things.
😉
LOL. That said, it is true that they gave it all on the stage. It was absolutely amazing.
I dont know about you guys but that’s just seem absurd to me..even if they are dancing so vigorously as they put it im sure they could take just one decent picture from there would all those professional cameras they have…im sorry but to me it fells like they are just making excuses
grammar fail
*with all those professional….
I totally agree with you. The photographers are just bullshitting. I’m sure if the fans can take HD fan pics those so called professional photographers can at least take a not-so-blurry photograph of the boys ._.
POINT! 😉
I’m sorry if my translation made you confused. They are talking about GROUP pics with all 3 that were taken when JYJ were dancing. Apparently I barely see any clear group pic from fans too ( or it’s just me?). So I think you can’t call it ‘making excuses’ ^^
I was going to say something about group pics but @Just a little Pear said it. Please, my husband is a professional photographer. it is NOT EASY. It isn’t “oh just get a shot”, they likely have hundreds and hundreds of shots, but none of them are exactly what they wanted:
this shot: you are missing a member
this shot: someone’s face is covered
this shot: his eyes are closed
this shot: his head is at a weird angle so you can see straight up his nose
etc etc
trust me, photography is damn hard, and professionals have standards that they must keep to. I can totally understand their problem. It doesn’t help that you are shooting at night, with crap lighting, and extremely high energy motion.
Thank you for justifying what was in my head… ^_^
But the idea that they were too busy watching the three than taking fotos is fun too… Heheheh!
I think the photographers did manage to take some photos, probably blurry ones and impossible to publish. They did not expect to watch such energetic moves from JYJ.
Jaejoong did surely know to respond properly. And for such kind of stage, 3000 is not a small number. Those people spent their night in camps for the concert! I am proud of JYJ!
“It’s true that the stage is small, but it has a different meaning.”
yeah it’s different meaning for me…
JYJ concert is solo concert….stage specially for JYJ…
not like a big stage for many artist performance or usully we call it’s all management artist concert…
JYJ still the best for me….
JYJ AKTF
you should learn from JYJ fans before become a professional photografer!!! thats really just an excuses!!
“Shame, and big shame on this photographers, for failing to capture this phenoms guys with flimsy excuses. I say more good things are coming for JYJ and I wish Ellen DeGeneres will have them on her show as a K-pop Stars. More people are falling in Love with Ithese dynamic trio Justin Bieber x 3= JYJ THE BEST.

@DarkDiamond
“just seems absurd to me..”
I AGREE. This is the MOST RIDICULOUS THING I have ever heard! Professional photographers could not get photos of them dancing!!! Yet, JYJ fanclubs have photos of them dancing! FANS! with no training managed to get photos of them dancing.
I just don’t understand this. Just another excuse that the press can use NOT to publish stories about JYJ.
They had a whole VIP section for the press and now there are very few photos of them dancing to provide to the press so that they can publish stories about them.
You know what, here is an idea …. Hey Beyond Monica, please give us a list of the media outlets that you invited and provided VIP seating for ……and JYJs DIE HARD FANS and FAN CLUBS will gladly share photos they can use for their stories.
that is a good way to push them into the guilt hole even further! let the fans help and let them refuse the fans help then try to wiggle out of that one! jerks. toe suckers. sm toe suckers. whatever. they are the losers in this game. every time they do something stupid like this it makes them look like losers.
wow what a way to cover up their flaw -__- though the boys are flawless, but seriously the organization is a fail if it can’t capture photos when the fans can…
why suddenly did we have this kind of news? did anyone ask for dance photos or what?
I understand that their ‘dance moved were extreme and sexy as hell’ but even the fans got pictures! and really good ones. I can’t believe the photographers couldn’t get a single one, what ‘professionals’? (profesional cameras can capture almost everything) really….
Anyway, i hope it was because they were admiring our boys if not gtfo (fans photos are enough).
lololol
@All: braviet asked “why suddenly did we have this kind of news? did anyone ask for dance photos or what?”. As the translator of this article, I can’t help jumping in.
“why suddenly did we have this kind of news? did anyone ask for dance photos or what?” Why? Because when the reporter want to write but can’t come up with some pics himself, he’ll ask the organizer or even the management company/agency for that. Frankly it will be like “If you want me to write about you/your thing, pls provide info/pics/vid.” or more politely “I want to write about you/your thing, can you provide some pics?” It’s always like that, in publishing/PR/communication/advertising field. So if the company/organizer want to promote their group/event, some nice pics will be provided. They often provide it even before being asked. But in this case the organizer could barely provide any pic and apologized. I presume that the reporter took this unusual happening as topic for his article.
I translated this article while thinking that it was such an amusing and subtle way of praising and didn’t expect that the organizer would be bashed for something they couldn’t avoid. I personally think that it’s not appropriate to bash the organizer and accuse them for ‘making excuses’. Unless you can show me any GROUP pic taken by fans, a pic of ALL 3 JYJ’s members when they were singing and dancing to a DANCE song, a clear pic that can be published in an article!
On the other side, it’s possible that my translation did confuse you. I’m sorry for that!
nah… dont worry ur life for it dear… *hugs*
u did a great job! we thank you and adminnie as always! ^_^
@Just a little Pear
I didn’t find your translation confusing & I thought the article was cute. It was also very obvious in the fancams that JYJ were really going for it & giving it their all in the Spanish concert! ^____^
PS: Thank you Hannah for all the translations you do & for all your hard work. 😀 *hugs you*
i want 2 thank u for all the job that u have done….tq for all the translation that u provided…..its DAE 2 THE BAK…
Just a little pear…FIGHTING
@Just a little Pear , Thank you for your hard work ^^
I am reposting my reply to @DarkDiamond here, with additions.
I was going to say something about group pics but @Just a little Pear said it. Please, my husband is a professional photographer. it is NOT EASY. It isn’t “oh just get a shot”, they likely have hundreds and hundreds of shots, but none of them are exactly what they wanted:
this shot: you are missing a member
this shot: someone’s face is covered
this shot: his eyes are closed
this shot: his hand is like so, which makes it look like he is grabbing the next member’s crotch
this shot: his head is at a weird angle so you can see straight up his nose
etc etc
trust me, photography is damn hard, and professionals have standards that they must keep to. I can totally understand their problem. It doesn’t help that you are shooting at night, with crap lighting, and extremely high energy motion.
Additional:
I’m sorry, but the comments here are really upsetting me. I don’t think most of you have any idea how hard it is to do professional photography. And you are blaming stuff that has NOTHING to do with the situation. Take a seat, take a deep breath and re-read the article before you open your mouths, please!
A lot of you are blaming the media photographers, but did you even read the article properly? The media organizations asked for photos because their own were crap, and the ORGANIZERS (NOT the media) could not provide these. The professional team of photographers FROM THEIR AMERICAN TOUR could not. “Even the professional photography team that has accompanied them in the North American Tour was abashed.” Now why the HELL would these people have any reason to not take photos? Hmm? Plus, in several of the fan accounts people have commented on the less than optimal placing of the media area. So I’m not really surprised that they couldn’t get good photos. You have to understand, media-ready/print-ready images and point-and-shoot images are leagues apart in terms of focus, lighting, composition and colour balance. Think people, please! You are making yourselves look extremely ignorant by saying the fan pics are better and that the photographers didn’t take pictures because they were too busy watching, too busy kissing up to SM, etc.
/end rant
(sorry if I made anyone upset)
I sit in the SVIP area, next to the press, and I had a good view of the concert (not as close as I would’ve liked, but it was a great view of the stage, tbh, considering that we were in the side), but the press? They were pushed so close to the stage that from that angle I doubt they could even see the screen in the stage entirely, tbh. I think that probably had a lot to do with them not being able to get good photos.
And btw, when I said that they were probably too busy watching the concert I was just joking 😉 I studied Photography at uni as part of the Degree I left, and I know how difficult it is.
@Skye
Actually I think someone else said too busy watching too, so it wasn’t just you lol! But yeah, if you’re photographing that close, it’s very difficult to get wide-angle shots, and the lenses that would be necessary would be very difficult to use in those circumstances (dark etc). It probably would have been much better if they’d had two photographer-areas, one stage-side “pit” and one raised “balcony” area, where telephoto (the big guns) could have been used. It’s impossible to use that from stage side, you’re just too close. But it seems like the organization of the seating and/or concert itself left a little to be desired, according to many of the fan accounts that I’ve read. Hopefully Berlin will be better.
And hopefully they (JYJ) learn that just cause the concert is in country A, doesn’t mean only people who speak that language will be there lol! I hope Spain opened their eyes to their international fanbase, that we come in all flavours (and speak many tongues) 😀
You know what they could’ve done? They could’ve gotten a screencap of one of the more HD fancams that are running amok on YouTube! Case in point:
The material/resources are there. Why not utilize them, eh? And really how many MP do you need a print picture to be? A screencap from the above fancam would be more HQ than the one in the article above I’ll wager.
But regardless like in my comment above…
I’m PROUD of our JYJ. It’s rare, that statement the media said. 😉
Plus Jae’s reply was pure class!
They have copyright issues with such things. Published in a newspaper they have to have credits on the photo, so it is more complicated than we fans are used to.
it may be HD for a fancam but not for tv program, i would bitch a fit if i paid to see the concert on tv and i got that.
u must remember that hd standards for fans is totally on a different level of professional hd standard. also keep in mind its not the media that fail to provide the pics but organizers, why would the organizers make excuses?
Both of you have points 😉
Though I don’t think they’re talking about TV…they’re talking about not being able to capture pictures right?
But then they’ve done it before. Showing fancams on TV I mean.
As for copyright issues, it depends on the parties involved, isn’t it? It can be as painless and as painful as possible 😀
But for all that, I’m with @Lisa below
JYJ FTW!!!
Regardless of all the photography questions, this just shows why JYJ are unbeatable. They are experts at starting over (as Tohoshinki in Japan and as JYJ everywhere). They have no pride that stops them from going to the bottom and working hard to go up from there with gratitude and happiness. Who can help loving and respecting such people?
@Lisa

The work of the trio is still ibiznes. Business is the publication of calendars and greeting cards, magazines, DVD. There is also the author’s rights, which belong to them.
Entreaties to some unscrupulous fans do not work. Therefore, let the smoke on the stage – even brilliant photographer to take pictures of these conditions, no good will. A non-profit photo fans did.
Sorry for very bad english …
pikachuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu!!!!!!!!!!!!!! >///<
While it is inexcusable when adequate materials are not provided to the press, my take on this is that there are a number of things going on with this article…
1. The Korean media does not understand the international Kpop fan.
Do you think we really care about flashy lighting, confetti & idols flying over our heads? We’ve seen all the flash in fan vids… we just want the chance to see them perform with our own eyes… to scream at their every move with our own voices… to display our love and devotion with chants and home-made signs… the opportunity to be under the same sky, breathe the same air, spazz with fellow spazzers. Screw the fireworks! I never read a fan account written by anyone who complained about the lack of special effects while their idols were on the stage.
2. Do they have any concept of the cost of producing a 1-night show especially in another country?
Excuse me but this is a business, so while I don’t expect a bare stage, I understand the economic factor of toning down the hoopla. Most performing artists will tell you that the profit isn’t in the sale of the ticket to the performance, it’s in the sale of the merchandise and the boost to record sales a live performance generates. Promoters want to keep production costs in check because they have to present a reasonable ticket price to fans in order to get them to come buy the goodies.
Companies like SM ship in a boatload of idols and put on a fancy stage, which certainly is impressive, but it’s also one of the reason why their profits suck. The only expense they spare is generated with the sweat of their “stars” and the disgraceful fact that they pay their them shit for the work they do.
3. The “invisible hand” strikes again.
Paranoid? Suspicious? Yes I am. Why you say? Well this article is not the typical shallow fluff piece normally seen in K-media and my observations since I became interested in the SK entertainment industry is that the only time the K-media critiques something negatively is when there’s an agenda.
I’m not talking about the stupid articles where netizens are complaining that Sunny didn’t smile enough or Jessica looked so tired… I’m talking about the ones that pop up when a performer (idol or actor) does something which calls attention to the flaws in the system.
The land of “do not offend” suddenly becomes the land of “crush and kill” targeting anything that isn’t adhering to the rules of conformity. Be it an actress who stands up and voices objections to the working conditions on a drama set or suppressed idol stars who are achieving success outside of the realm of the almighty … it appears to become the duty of K-media to cast a negative spin and point the spotlight at the defects rather than the achievements of those parties.
So to end this… yes… the article is a pisser but frankly the lack of depth reporting is just status quo from whence it came.
JYJ were to fast for a stable shot ~_^
they dance so quick
ummm this article is amusing but frankly a bit odd, they are using excuses but ummm idk couldnt they have moved to the back, I wonder If they were even allowed to? ive seen fancams and I noticed a photographer roaming around the side stage, or maybe it was a camera man?…..but from that angle and closeness it would have been hard to take a good picture of all 3 of them. I still think its weird but, I think this sorta of telling since I think the organization of the comcert itself was a bit bad, from what ive read of many fanaccounts.
Im a photographer, I do that for a living apart from going to school, so I know it would have been difficult to take a good pic of all 3 of them with all the laser lights & whatnot flashing at you if say u stood at the back of the crowd, I think their only option would have been for them to go into the crowd itself and get a good shot, but ideally press photographers wouldnt have 2 do that tbh
but I guess overall this article serves as an odd form of flattery so I think everyone should take it like that…..that JYJ werre sooo good even professional photographers couldnt catch their movements ;-P
“but I guess overall this article serves as an odd form of flattery so I think everyone should take it like that…..that JYJ werre sooo good even professional photographers couldnt catch their movements ;-P”
exactly this… ^_____^
c’mon guys from above there… who are so energized in commenting… LOL
Let’s just enjoy the moment and let’s not make this post an “interesting” one just cos of this and that… ^________^
The apology had me lolling XD
The photographers were awed watching JYJ, that’s why they were not able to take good pictures hehehehehhe
This article made me laugh so badly. It’s so cute. Awhhh…
