When you say “debit number” do you mean your debit card number? If you have a debit card or credit card, you should be able to donate using that on the paypal screen. I believe you can just say at that time that you don’t have a paypal account and it’ll let you put in your credit/debit card info. It will only force you to log into paypal if the card you are trying to use is already tied to a paypal account. let me know if that works for you, otherwise you can twitter me and we can DM-troubleshoot… @booksandfish (or email me, springbok7 at hotmail.com)

Like you I make a monthly donation, but to the WSPA (World Society for Protection of Animals.) Twinnie & I really want to see JYJ live next year, not to mention actually meet each other face to face, & as she’s got so many expenses on her plate next year – paying off her mortgage, moving into the new house, paying for her brother to go back to college & all his living expenses, as well as supporting her sis too, I’m doing most of the saving. I’m embarrassed to admit I considered stopping my monthly payment, it would be another $600 in the See JYJ live kitty, but it just didn’t feel right, & after seeing JYJ supporting The Mango Tree Project, I just knew I couldn’t stop supporting my fave charity.
Btw peeps, they say money is like love – the more you give of it without fear or resentment, the more you get back in return. So please get those donations in to The Mango Tree Project. This is such a worthy cause that will help countless people who are in really desperate need, for years to come. ^^

It’s really hard to save up sometimes isn’t it? I just have the few that I do, CARE, HPR, and one other I think, but I just have it on my credit card and don’t even think about it unless one of them sends me a mail about it LOL! But for us, we try to set a budget for me and for hubby for a month and stick to that… it’s been interesting to try keeping to it… but some months are SO much harder… like this month X__X I had to get my cracked tooth crowned ($400 – thank you dental insurance!!), my tuition for next semester’s JPNS102 is due ($600), the house ins was last month, then it’s christmas time, then the car ins is due, then life ins, then it’s april and tax time already… I was gonna say I hate this time of year (for expenses) but when you really get down to it, the suckers come at you all year round LOL! I am just eternally grateful i don’t have to worry about car or mortgage payments!!
I always wish we could give more, and give TO more, but it is what it is, and we don’t even have fancy cable/roadrunner things, or iphones or anything, hell my cell doesn’t even have a camera on it LOL! But yeah, I try to find charities that resonate with me, and CARE is one of those. The Mango Tree project sounds like another, and it’s helping in Africa, even if north africa rather than south africa, but still, I have family in africa, so I figure anything that helps boost the living conditions in one area will hopefully have a domino effect and the help will spread. I can dream, right?
Without sounding “saintly”, yep, that’s one of my gripes about being poor. There are so many who are doing it worse off, I always want to give, & to give more. I was considering halving what I give to WSPA, so I could give the other half to Unicef or MSF, but charities for animals are usually the first ones people stop donating too when times are tough, so… 😦 The good thing is many of the charities out here have little donation boxes in various shops, so I put my coins in them – every little bit helps. I love the WSPA because they are really practical, they don’t just go in & preach, or spew abuse at animal rights abusers. They teach them that animals are sentient beings, that they do feel pain, fear & suffering, & why it’s important to treat them well. Where animals are being abused for profit, such as with the horrendous “sport” of bear-baiting, they not only confiscate the bears, but they help the owners into a new livelihood, so it’s a win win situation for everyone involved.
My mobile is about 7/8 years old, doesn’t have a camera, & is decidedly temperamental on whether or not it will even bother to show any incoming texts! Some take 3 days to show up, & other’s never bother showing up at all!! We joking whine about sobbing bank balances when it comes to buying JYJ products, but at the end of the day, mum & I have a roof over our heads, food on the table (which hasn’t always been the case), & each other. So, we’re all good. & if the worse comes to the worst, we can always live in the car & shower in one of the many waterfalls in the mountains!! Although if that day ever comes, I apologise in advance to any tourists!! 😉
Do i even want to know what “bear baiting” is? It sounds… ucky. But then again, here we have chicken fighting, which is illegal but widely practiced, most of the “fors” claim it as “cultural heritage” while most of the “againsts” claim it as animal abuse because it isn’t “just” letting two roosters duke it out, there’s WAY more crap than that. I fall into the latter group, simply because I cannot conscience some “sport” where you deliberately strap knives to an animal’s feet to cause more carnage. NOT FAIR! and then they throw away the losers, many times without even making sure the poor things are even dead. makes me very very very angry when i see/hear about it…
it’s a sad fact that actually hawaii has some of the worst animal cruelty legislation in the US. I think we rank dead last or close to it in the severity…. but what people don’t realize is that many times inclination to animal abuse is a VERY good indicator for people who have inclinations of human abuse, whether that’s child, spouse, sexual, whatever.
I hear you on the money thing. In some ways we are well enough off, I mean, we DO have at least some disposable income that we can spend on goodies like JYJ and hubby’s sport collectibles, and we have a house to live in, cars to drive, clothes to wear, etc, but there are def times when I want to cry trying to figure out how I’m going to cover all the expenses. And saving for big ticket items is so hard… I mean, I have no idea what we’d do if my car up and died on us (the poor thing is over 10 years old now)… and I hear you on the “hasn’t always been the case” sigh… going through the “system” when we were having a really hard time while I was in college was a very eye-opening experience for us. The stuff that goes on is just…. X__X I mean, stuff like, you can only qualify for assistance X if you work over 20 hours a week… BUT since you’re a student, you aren’t allowed to work more than 20… but if you do this and this and this then you can get that stuff instead… I swear I think the only people who can “work the system” are the ones who have been raised up doing all that stuff since birth, cause heaven knows we were confused as hell. we got out of it as soon the hell as we could, but obviously it’s left a pretty lasting impression on me… sigh, when am I going to win the lotto? sigh! LOL!
P.S. we’ll just tell the tourists they had a rare and unusual sighting of the elusive “mountain women” who inhabit the area but are rarely seen by outsiders…. MWAHAHHA
Oh I HATE cock fighting, & esp when they put the spurs on them. As for bear baiting, basically poachers snatch a cub from the wild, usually after shooting his/her mother in front of his eyes, then tie them down, use pliers to rip out their teeth & claws, without anaesthesia or any pain killer at all, drill a hole through their extremely sensitive nose, & pull a rope through the hole. The bear is then chained to an iron loop in the ground & dogs are sent in to attack him/her while spectators cheer & bet on the outcome. All the bear has to defend himself with is his weight, & they are frequently put through this torturous “sport” numerous times a day. They are rarely well fed, watered or cared for out of the ring, & many are left to boil in tiny, cramped cages in full sunlight when they aren’t “fighting.” I have an especial soft spot for bears, & this “sport” makes me seethe with anger & tears.
In some places, animal rights laws are getting better. The European Union has just passed legislation that animals are sentient beings & that therefore cosmetic testing on animals is to be banned – whether this will actually happen though is another thing altogether. (Most cosmetics companies already do their testing out of Europe.) 72 beagles were just freed from a Spanish lab & have seen sunlight & felt grass beneath their feet for the first time in their lives. & an area in Hollywood, (West Beverly or someplace?) has some of the most progressive laws regarding animals anywhere in the world, having just passed a law recognising pets as companions, with all the rights that entails.
Yes, animal cruelty is a definite indicator of tendencies for sadistic behaviour or abuse. Many serial killers start off by abusing animals. Frankly, it drives me crazy that many people just shrug off animal abuse, saying that “They’re only animals, they don’t feel pain…” A few years ago in America, college football students went on a sadistic rampage in a rescue cattery, bashing the cats, many to death, causing horrendous pain & terror to the poor things, trapped in their cage. Most people in the town just shrugged it off as a college prank, that they were just teenagers, that they were just cats, etc, etc, etc… The overall impression was that because they were the stars of the football team, what they had done just didn’t matter. Nobody seemed to even consider what the atmosphere in that cage must have been like, the smell of blood & terror, the pain, & that these “kids” enjoyed it, let alone what their enjoyment of causing so much pain & terror to any living being indicated about those “kids.”

As for ‘the system’, I don’t know how it works! Out here, it seems easier for cheats to scam it; “dole bludgers” as they’re called, get their fortnightly unemployment benefit & go surfing every day, while those in need, esp the mentally ill or parents of disabled or mentally ill children, find it almost impossible to get any help at all. >.>

Isn’t it so interesting how easy it is for people to prepend the word “just” to something so that they can then “just” brush it off as inconsequential? If anyone I knew had participated in that “just a prank” stuff, I think i’d have gone bat-shit crazy on them about it. I have zero tolerance for that. We have a couple friends, who if they ever bring up an incident I’ve overheard them talking about, in front of me, well let’s just say they might not be talking to me afterwards. They are generally good guys, but their sense of “fun” does not union with mine on that topic. (and the incident of me overhearing them talking about it occurred a good 5-6 years ago… my memory might be sieve-like on some things, but not on that!)
re “the system” i have never, ever nor will i ever forget the day we were in the local grocery store, having carefully picked out the biggest bulk-buy things we could to make the money go the furthest in terms of meals, only to see the couple (and four kids) in front of us whipping out their foodstamps to “pay” for three lobsters, six cases of soda, and a massive bag of candies and chips for the whining kids. I was absolutely stunned at the time. Now it just makes me very angry. Though i think the legislature tightened up the laws not too long after that… but still… there’ll always be ppl “working the system”
“Working the system…” I know, there will always be people who take advantage of it. But I’d prefer there be a system in the first place to take care of those who genuinely need it. A society will, or should be, judged on how it treats & cares for it’s weakest & most vulnerable members, & although unfortunately many of those in genuine need fall through the cracks, at least we have some support system in place. Countries that don’t have social welfare usually have the highest work ethics per percentage, & often forge ahead financially, aka China, but at a terrible cost to millions of individuals. & I firmly believe that every individual life counts, & is important.

lol even though i’m here, i’m several hundred miles from where we think they are (oahu). but hawaii is one of those places where it is VERY easy to disappear. there are tons of private air transportation, and loads of places to just go poof to. so it must be so nice for them to come here to get away. they could walk around in downtown Hilo (where i live) and not have hoodies or masks or anything and no one would even notice. in fact they’d be way more conspicuous if they did have coverups on lol plus we get a lot of foreign tourists so the locals wouldn’t bat an eyelid and a bunch of korean guys walking around. (though they are so gorgeous, ppl would notice THAT lolol!)

I am back at my house. Sorry for making everyone worry.
I was asked to stay at the hospital for observation and apparently I did have a concussion. lol.
I had severe headaches and I continue to (Excuse me) puke in the past two days. Good news is that they didn’t find any blood clot in my head. Bad news is that I was cut off from technology. lol. No phones, no laptops, no TV, no reading.. basically all I did was eat and lie down.
I will have my next check up on Saturday coz I need a go signal from my doctor if I can travel to Shanghai for Jaejoong’s fanmeet and the business trips after that. So wish me luck! Lol. Will be on leave for the rest of the week to recuperate.
I am still getting headaches so I won’t be able to stay long staring at Jaejoong uhmm JYJ… uhmm I mean the laptop. kekeke.

Hey jyj3 fambam i feel so incomplete w/o daily news about our boys. Glad we have our admins taking us back on memory lane and that our boys can rest well.
Because of that, I caught up on some other Kpop and jpop news. Anyone watched the mama awards? Didn’t live stream cause I was asleep and not gonna stay up if it isn’t with jyj but youtubed some performances and they were all quite unexpectedly good! Too bad the award show itself was rigged and every artist there expected a win, not saying some are undeserving of it.
Oh and the results for kouhaku just came out! Other than the usual bunch, snsd and Kara made it this year. I’m not disliking these girls who work their butts off (literally) and songs i can groove to but I kinda have a tinge of jealousy these girls made it in with just a year of debut in Japan. I’ll just anticipate when JYJ can finally perform in Japan and Korea again!!

I watched a bit since my sis was watching Channel U where’s the live broadcast of MAMA Awards was airing. I was very happy to see Ji Sung (LOL, I did not know he came to present a award) and could not believe he was partnering with Han Hyo Joo. Then, I went back to surt net after I told my sis the award was rigged, haha~~
i watched it live at channel u 2? but in between that i also watch ‘junior master chef semi final’ ( when there is an ad then i watch mama )on okto….. gods… that kids sure cook like a boss….i think they will defeat me in cooking with their eyes close….so envy of them….
I liked the Miss A, Beast, Lan Yi Lin performances. Where is the love was done well too except no one sang along…..
The Beast orchestra version would have been better if the instruments hadn’t been overpowering their vocals.
SNSD made so many mistakes its not even funny, and yes they sang everything live except the chorus….they were off key.
The super junior performance would have been better if it was not so cheesy. I would have liked it better without the opening ment and them escaping or fighting random people. On TV the million people looked foolish……..but I guess if you were at the venue it looked cool (?)

to tell d truth i have never/interested to see full video or performance of korean artist except jyj n dbsk5……maybe i can hear it in radio or cd. actually its been a long time since i listen to radio station. my hifi have just become accessories in my room….. right now in my laptop there is only jyj, dbsk, adele ( my latest obssesion although its a bit late ) n some english oldies song…ooh n a bunch of korean drama OST…..

Yes, Jaejoong grabbed his hand to stop whatever Yoochun was doing back there, lol! I love how in their interviews, DBSK was always so unfailingly polite and well spoken, but there was always this undercurrent of mischief going on. Hey everyone ^__^ Right now I’m annoyed though. The NHK”s 62nd line-up is horrible. Yes, some of my favorites are there but something about the other half of tvxq being invited but not JYJ annoys me and the fact that Kara and snsd were invited when people usually had to wait years just upsets me.
but as far as in know.. tvxq was also invited in 2009 right? so its gonna be their 3 times in a row.. with the other 2.. hmmm.. i dont know how to properly react on that since i care less about them.. but yeah i agree with your last line.. If they will be able to release a Japanese album in Japan, then it is possible. There are lots of things being considered (aside from sales) for you to be able to be invited to Kouhaku.

and to be fair, kohaku has lost its prestigious around 5 years ago (mainly around je idol / quality / rating issue). even back to the day tvxq with 5 members present in kohaku, it’s not as honored or admired as original as much as kpop fans in general at that time though it was (read: kohaku has leaned toward being a promotional tool and now, it shows more clearly, especially with kpop groups’ appearances).

Yes, I’m very much afraid he has. You know what I realized today watching a few of those older videos? I think he’s way better NOW than he was then, even though I’m the first to say he was just RIDICULOUSLY, impossibly beautiful as a younger man. Honestly, I can’t get over how stupidly beautiful he was back in TVXQ days. But he wasn’t being authentically himself. He was acting a part.
NOW he is, at last, truly himself. And I’m sure everyone here has seen that he is really quite different in every way then he was during the SM years. I have to admit that while I was quite taken aback by how gorgeous he was back then, his persona did not MOVE me. Chunnie was the one I liked. But now that Jaejoong is finally able to show us who he really is, inside and out, I love him.

Uh-oh….. lol My first bit of advice: Don’t Do It!! Failing that, do NOT drink on an empty stomach. Finally, do NOT drink very much of it. Do NOT, for instance drink the whole bottle. Have one or maybe two small glasses, just to taste it and then STOP.
BTW Janet, did you get my tweet/post about the soju i picked up last night? The store clerk that helped me find it (on the sake shelf ROTF!) said it’s “much easier to drink than sake, so be careful cause it’s easy to drink too much” he didn’t say it tastes weird LOL!

I take my cue from the faces I see people making (let alone the SOUNDS they make) in K-dramas after taking a drink of Soju. This has got to be some vile and repugnant sh*t. lol (kidding.) Of course there’s a tiny part of me that would like to at least taste it at some point, but having it be compared to nail polish the other day by someone here set me back by at least another year or so as to going and seeking it out. Besides, if my local Ralphs doesn’t carry it, there MUST be something seriously amiss with it, right? (kidding again)

But it became a staple in our parties.
I sometimes mix it with various drinks – beer (soju bomb) or soda if I want to take it slow.
HAHAH ok well I shall report on how much i do or don’t like it as soon as I get the chance to taste it lol! doubtful that I will have any encounters with the more negative side effects since I won’t be drinking near enough to induce any hangover lol!

Drinking soju is a bit tricky. You have to take mini breaks in between shots.
If this is your first time, remember to drink moderately! ^^
if i read the wikipedia page correctly, it’s supposed to be ~served~ in small shot glasses, which you then down in one go, but you don’t need to rush to fill up again right away 😉
yup should be in shot glasses. don’t drink consecutively! you would not feel the effect immediately… but once you stand up, good luck!
the only way you can drink soju in regular drinking glasses is if you mix it with other drinks.
and i have to laugh cause… honestly? I don’t even know what is the “standard” ‘volume of a shotglass. The little things we have at home hold two tablespoons i think… maybe three at the most LOL! AND i just looked at Mr. Wikipedia and apparently shotglasses come in ALL sorts of sizes…. OTL
South Korean shot is 60ml so that’s 3tbspn… US shotglass is ~44ml (1.5fl oz) which is two tables…. hmmmm…..

This is similar to the news about JYJ selling 70,000 copies of the special edition In Heaven CD. The remixes was done by DJ Fraktal who remixed some of Brown Eyed Girls’ songs. It also said that the company has been receiving inquiries about the album since it is sold out in stores. They also mentioned JYJ’s charity project to help the children in Sudan (mango tree project).
Beth Magne, the manager of the UNAIDS for Asia Pacific said that ever since JYJ was appointed as goodwill ambassadors for UNAIDS, the progress has been very amazing. When they launched the Love Always campaign on twitter, the UNAIDS followers increased three-fold.. Around 40,000 fans around the world have joined. JYJ are amazing.

When you say “debit number” do you mean your debit card number? If you have a debit card or credit card, you should be able to donate using that on the paypal screen. I believe you can just say at that time that you don’t have a paypal account and it’ll let you put in your credit/debit card info. It will only force you to log into paypal if the card you are trying to use is already tied to a paypal account. let me know if that works for you, otherwise you can twitter me and we can DM-troubleshoot… @booksandfish (or email me, springbok7 at hotmail.com)

Like you I make a monthly donation, but to the WSPA (World Society for Protection of Animals.) Twinnie & I really want to see JYJ live next year, not to mention actually meet each other face to face, & as she’s got so many expenses on her plate next year – paying off her mortgage, moving into the new house, paying for her brother to go back to college & all his living expenses, as well as supporting her sis too, I’m doing most of the saving. I’m embarrassed to admit I considered stopping my monthly payment, it would be another $600 in the See JYJ live kitty, but it just didn’t feel right, & after seeing JYJ supporting The Mango Tree Project, I just knew I couldn’t stop supporting my fave charity.
Btw peeps, they say money is like love – the more you give of it without fear or resentment, the more you get back in return. So please get those donations in to The Mango Tree Project. This is such a worthy cause that will help countless people who are in really desperate need, for years to come. ^^

It’s really hard to save up sometimes isn’t it? I just have the few that I do, CARE, HPR, and one other I think, but I just have it on my credit card and don’t even think about it unless one of them sends me a mail about it LOL! But for us, we try to set a budget for me and for hubby for a month and stick to that… it’s been interesting to try keeping to it… but some months are SO much harder… like this month X__X I had to get my cracked tooth crowned ($400 – thank you dental insurance!!), my tuition for next semester’s JPNS102 is due ($600), the house ins was last month, then it’s christmas time, then the car ins is due, then life ins, then it’s april and tax time already… I was gonna say I hate this time of year (for expenses) but when you really get down to it, the suckers come at you all year round LOL! I am just eternally grateful i don’t have to worry about car or mortgage payments!!
I always wish we could give more, and give TO more, but it is what it is, and we don’t even have fancy cable/roadrunner things, or iphones or anything, hell my cell doesn’t even have a camera on it LOL! But yeah, I try to find charities that resonate with me, and CARE is one of those. The Mango Tree project sounds like another, and it’s helping in Africa, even if north africa rather than south africa, but still, I have family in africa, so I figure anything that helps boost the living conditions in one area will hopefully have a domino effect and the help will spread. I can dream, right?

Without sounding “saintly”, yep, that’s one of my gripes about being poor. There are so many who are doing it worse off, I always want to give, & to give more. I was considering halving what I give to WSPA, so I could give the other half to Unicef or MSF, but charities for animals are usually the first ones people stop donating too when times are tough, so… 😦 The good thing is many of the charities out here have little donation boxes in various shops, so I put my coins in them – every little bit helps. I love the WSPA because they are really practical, they don’t just go in & preach, or spew abuse at animal rights abusers. They teach them that animals are sentient beings, that they do feel pain, fear & suffering, & why it’s important to treat them well. Where animals are being abused for profit, such as with the horrendous “sport” of bear-baiting, they not only confiscate the bears, but they help the owners into a new livelihood, so it’s a win win situation for everyone involved.
My mobile is about 7/8 years old, doesn’t have a camera, & is decidedly temperamental on whether or not it will even bother to show any incoming texts! Some take 3 days to show up, & other’s never bother showing up at all!! We joking whine about sobbing bank balances when it comes to buying JYJ products, but at the end of the day, mum & I have a roof over our heads, food on the table (which hasn’t always been the case), & each other. So, we’re all good. & if the worse comes to the worst, we can always live in the car & shower in one of the many waterfalls in the mountains!! Although if that day ever comes, I apologise in advance to any tourists!! 😉

Do i even want to know what “bear baiting” is? It sounds… ucky. But then again, here we have chicken fighting, which is illegal but widely practiced, most of the “fors” claim it as “cultural heritage” while most of the “againsts” claim it as animal abuse because it isn’t “just” letting two roosters duke it out, there’s WAY more crap than that. I fall into the latter group, simply because I cannot conscience some “sport” where you deliberately strap knives to an animal’s feet to cause more carnage. NOT FAIR! and then they throw away the losers, many times without even making sure the poor things are even dead. makes me very very very angry when i see/hear about it…
it’s a sad fact that actually hawaii has some of the worst animal cruelty legislation in the US. I think we rank dead last or close to it in the severity…. but what people don’t realize is that many times inclination to animal abuse is a VERY good indicator for people who have inclinations of human abuse, whether that’s child, spouse, sexual, whatever.
I hear you on the money thing. In some ways we are well enough off, I mean, we DO have at least some disposable income that we can spend on goodies like JYJ and hubby’s sport collectibles, and we have a house to live in, cars to drive, clothes to wear, etc, but there are def times when I want to cry trying to figure out how I’m going to cover all the expenses. And saving for big ticket items is so hard… I mean, I have no idea what we’d do if my car up and died on us (the poor thing is over 10 years old now)… and I hear you on the “hasn’t always been the case” sigh… going through the “system” when we were having a really hard time while I was in college was a very eye-opening experience for us. The stuff that goes on is just…. X__X I mean, stuff like, you can only qualify for assistance X if you work over 20 hours a week… BUT since you’re a student, you aren’t allowed to work more than 20… but if you do this and this and this then you can get that stuff instead… I swear I think the only people who can “work the system” are the ones who have been raised up doing all that stuff since birth, cause heaven knows we were confused as hell. we got out of it as soon the hell as we could, but obviously it’s left a pretty lasting impression on me… sigh, when am I going to win the lotto? sigh! LOL!
P.S. we’ll just tell the tourists they had a rare and unusual sighting of the elusive “mountain women” who inhabit the area but are rarely seen by outsiders…. MWAHAHHA

Oh I HATE cock fighting, & esp when they put the spurs on them. As for bear baiting, basically poachers snatch a cub from the wild, usually after shooting his/her mother in front of his eyes, then tie them down, use pliers to rip out their teeth & claws, without anaesthesia or any pain killer at all, drill a hole through their extremely sensitive nose, & pull a rope through the hole. The bear is then chained to an iron loop in the ground & dogs are sent in to attack him/her while spectators cheer & bet on the outcome. All the bear has to defend himself with is his weight, & they are frequently put through this torturous “sport” numerous times a day. They are rarely well fed, watered or cared for out of the ring, & many are left to boil in tiny, cramped cages in full sunlight when they aren’t “fighting.” I have an especial soft spot for bears, & this “sport” makes me seethe with anger & tears.
In some places, animal rights laws are getting better. The European Union has just passed legislation that animals are sentient beings & that therefore cosmetic testing on animals is to be banned – whether this will actually happen though is another thing altogether. (Most cosmetics companies already do their testing out of Europe.) 72 beagles were just freed from a Spanish lab & have seen sunlight & felt grass beneath their feet for the first time in their lives. & an area in Hollywood, (West Beverly or someplace?) has some of the most progressive laws regarding animals anywhere in the world, having just passed a law recognising pets as companions, with all the rights that entails.
Yes, animal cruelty is a definite indicator of tendencies for sadistic behaviour or abuse. Many serial killers start off by abusing animals. Frankly, it drives me crazy that many people just shrug off animal abuse, saying that “They’re only animals, they don’t feel pain…” A few years ago in America, college football students went on a sadistic rampage in a rescue cattery, bashing the cats, many to death, causing horrendous pain & terror to the poor things, trapped in their cage. Most people in the town just shrugged it off as a college prank, that they were just teenagers, that they were just cats, etc, etc, etc… The overall impression was that because they were the stars of the football team, what they had done just didn’t matter. Nobody seemed to even consider what the atmosphere in that cage must have been like, the smell of blood & terror, the pain, & that these “kids” enjoyed it, let alone what their enjoyment of causing so much pain & terror to any living being indicated about those “kids.”

Out here, it seems easier for cheats to scam it; “dole bludgers” as they’re called, get their fortnightly unemployment benefit & go surfing every day, while those in need, esp the mentally ill or parents of disabled or mentally ill children, find it almost impossible to get any help at all. >.>

Isn’t it so interesting how easy it is for people to prepend the word “just” to something so that they can then “just” brush it off as inconsequential? If anyone I knew had participated in that “just a prank” stuff, I think i’d have gone bat-shit crazy on them about it. I have zero tolerance for that. We have a couple friends, who if they ever bring up an incident I’ve overheard them talking about, in front of me, well let’s just say they might not be talking to me afterwards. They are generally good guys, but their sense of “fun” does not union with mine on that topic. (and the incident of me overhearing them talking about it occurred a good 5-6 years ago… my memory might be sieve-like on some things, but not on that!)
re “the system” i have never, ever nor will i ever forget the day we were in the local grocery store, having carefully picked out the biggest bulk-buy things we could to make the money go the furthest in terms of meals, only to see the couple (and four kids) in front of us whipping out their foodstamps to “pay” for three lobsters, six cases of soda, and a massive bag of candies and chips for the whining kids. I was absolutely stunned at the time. Now it just makes me very angry. Though i think the legislature tightened up the laws not too long after that… but still… there’ll always be ppl “working the system”

“Working the system…” I know, there will always be people who take advantage of it. But I’d prefer there be a system in the first place to take care of those who genuinely need it. A society will, or should be, judged on how it treats & cares for it’s weakest & most vulnerable members, & although unfortunately many of those in genuine need fall through the cracks, at least we have some support system in place. Countries that don’t have social welfare usually have the highest work ethics per percentage, & often forge ahead financially, aka China, but at a terrible cost to millions of individuals. & I firmly believe that every individual life counts, & is important.

lol even though i’m here, i’m several hundred miles from where we think they are (oahu). but hawaii is one of those places where it is VERY easy to disappear. there are tons of private air transportation, and loads of places to just go poof to. so it must be so nice for them to come here to get away. they could walk around in downtown Hilo (where i live) and not have hoodies or masks or anything and no one would even notice. in fact they’d be way more conspicuous if they did have coverups on lol plus we get a lot of foreign tourists so the locals wouldn’t bat an eyelid and a bunch of korean guys walking around. (though they are so gorgeous, ppl would notice THAT lolol!)

I am back at my house. Sorry for making everyone worry.
I was asked to stay at the hospital for observation and apparently I did have a concussion. lol.
I had severe headaches and I continue to (Excuse me) puke in the past two days. Good news is that they didn’t find any blood clot in my head. Bad news is that I was cut off from technology. lol. No phones, no laptops, no TV, no reading.. basically all I did was eat and lie down.
I will have my next check up on Saturday coz I need a go signal from my doctor if I can travel to Shanghai for Jaejoong’s fanmeet and the business trips after that. So wish me luck! Lol. Will be on leave for the rest of the week to recuperate.
I am still getting headaches so I won’t be able to stay long staring at Jaejoong uhmm JYJ… uhmm I mean the laptop. kekeke.

Hey jyj3 fambam i feel so incomplete w/o daily news about our boys. Glad we have our admins taking us back on memory lane and that our boys can rest well.
Because of that, I caught up on some other Kpop and jpop news. Anyone watched the mama awards? Didn’t live stream cause I was asleep and not gonna stay up if it isn’t with jyj but youtubed some performances and they were all quite unexpectedly good! Too bad the award show itself was rigged and every artist there expected a win, not saying some are undeserving of it.
Oh and the results for kouhaku just came out! Other than the usual bunch, snsd and Kara made it this year. I’m not disliking these girls who work their butts off (literally) and songs i can groove to but I kinda have a tinge of jealousy these girls made it in with just a year of debut in Japan. I’ll just anticipate when JYJ can finally perform in Japan and Korea again!!

The Beast orchestra version would have been better if the instruments hadn’t been overpowering their vocals.
SNSD made so many mistakes its not even funny, and yes they sang everything live except the chorus….they were off key.
The super junior performance would have been better if it was not so cheesy. I would have liked it better without the opening ment and them escaping or fighting random people. On TV the million people looked foolish……..but I guess if you were at the venue it looked cool (?)

Hey everyone ^__^ Right now I’m annoyed though. The NHK”s 62nd line-up is horrible. Yes, some of my favorites are there but something about the other half of tvxq being invited but not JYJ annoys me and the fact that Kara and snsd were invited when people usually had to wait years just upsets me.
JYJ didn’t release any Japanese single or album this year so I wasn’t expecting them to be in Kouhaku.
but as far as in know.. tvxq was also invited in 2009 right? so its gonna be their 3 times in a row.. with the other 2.. hmmm.. i dont know how to properly react on that since i care less about them.. but yeah i agree with your last line.. NHK was known as prestigious event that when you get invited it means you really have a big success or fame.. and this year’s event was different. they invited 3 idols from kpop which normally only 1 gets the privilege..

and to be fair, kohaku has lost its prestigious around 5 years ago (mainly around je idol / quality / rating issue). even back to the day tvxq with 5 members present in kohaku, it’s not as honored or admired as original as much as kpop fans in general at that time though it was (read: kohaku has leaned toward being a promotional tool and now, it shows more clearly, especially with kpop groups’ appearances).

i don’t know the meaning of korea characters actually, i just tranlate this news in Baidu Jaejoong Bar from Chinese to English.

Yes, I’m very much afraid he has. You know what I realized today watching a few of those older videos? I think he’s way better NOW than he was then, even though I’m the first to say he was just RIDICULOUSLY, impossibly beautiful as a younger man. Honestly, I can’t get over how stupidly beautiful he was back in TVXQ days. But he wasn’t being authentically himself. He was acting a part.
NOW he is, at last, truly himself. And I’m sure everyone here has seen that he is really quite different in every way then he was during the SM years. I have to admit that while I was quite taken aback by how gorgeous he was back then, his persona did not MOVE me. Chunnie was the one I liked. But now that Jaejoong is finally able to show us who he really is, inside and out, I love him.

In order to upload pictures, you have to go to WordPress.com and open up an account and follow the instructions on how to alter your gravatar. They provide plenty of info on that topic. It makes you create a website, but no worry, you don’t have to do anything with one until you want to.

Uh-oh….. lol My first bit of advice: Don’t Do It!! Failing that, do NOT drink on an empty stomach. Finally, do NOT drink very much of it. Do NOT, for instance drink the whole bottle. Have one or maybe two small glasses, just to taste it and then STOP.

BTW Janet, did you get my tweet/post about the soju i picked up last night? The store clerk that helped me find it (on the sake shelf ROTF!) said it’s “much easier to drink than sake, so be careful cause it’s easy to drink too much” he didn’t say it tastes weird LOL!

I take my cue from the faces I see people making (let alone the SOUNDS they make) in K-dramas after taking a drink of Soju. This has got to be some vile and repugnant sh*t. lol (kidding.) Of course there’s a tiny part of me that would like to at least taste it at some point, but having it be compared to nail polish the other day by someone here set me back by at least another year or so as to going and seeking it out. Besides, if my local Ralphs doesn’t carry it, there MUST be something seriously amiss with it, right? (kidding again)

I actually like soju and had introduced it to my friends… who cursed me the following day for their terrible hangovers. lol.
But it became a staple in our parties.
I sometimes mix it with various drinks – beer (soju bomb) or soda if I want to take it slow.
HAHAH ok well I shall report on how much i do or don’t like it as soon as I get the chance to taste it lol! doubtful that I will have any encounters with the more negative side effects since I won’t be drinking near enough to induce any hangover lol!

if i read the wikipedia page correctly, it’s supposed to be ~served~ in small shot glasses, which you then down in one go, but you don’t need to rush to fill up again right away 😉
yup should be in shot glasses. don’t drink consecutively! you would not feel the effect immediately… but once you stand up, good luck!
the only way you can drink soju in regular drinking glasses is if you mix it with other drinks.
and i have to laugh cause… honestly? I don’t even know what is the “standard” ‘volume of a shotglass. The little things we have at home hold two tablespoons i think… maybe three at the most LOL! AND i just looked at Mr. Wikipedia and apparently shotglasses come in ALL sorts of sizes…. OTL
South Korean shot is 60ml so that’s 3tbspn… US shotglass is ~44ml (1.5fl oz) which is two tables…. hmmmm…..

This is similar to the news about JYJ selling 70,000 copies of the special edition In Heaven CD. The remixes was done by DJ Fraktal who remixed some of Brown Eyed Girls’ songs. It also said that the company has been receiving inquiries about the album since it is sold out in stores. Please don’t regret it. It’s not like you posted stalker pics. & so many days without the guys have left many of us desperate for news on them. Like Lili, I’m happy they didn’t go to Vegas, & are obviously having such a great time in Hawaii. 😀 Maybe it’s cause of all the BS they’ve been put through, but like an anxious mother I get nervous when the guys disappear for any length of time, & start worrying about their happiness.
