Through the generous help of JYJ‘s Junsu, a small village in Cambodia was able to construct a school for its students.
On December 28th, ‘Adra Korea‘ announced the establishment of a ‘Kim Junsu School’ that took five months to build. The school includes six classrooms, a bathroom, and a clean water supply system.
The remote outback town is a part of the Pusat province and has a population of 1,500. It takes approximately three hours by car to travel to the capital. In a country that carries a suffering economy and health system, the town is considered one of the most impoverished within the country.
Junsu’s mother, Yoon Young Mi, visited the area through the aid of a volunteer organization and asked locals what they needed the most. Without hesitation, they had said that they needed a school for their children. After hearing about their needs, Junsu set out to construct a school to aid in the education of impoverished children and to help them find a future and a goal. Touched, the locals shared and donated everything they had to make it a possibility.
The opening ceremony was attended by 500 students and their parents, along with the town officials. The new elementary students put on an adorable show to express their gratitude. Junsu’s mother returned the favor by expressing, “I hope to name this school the ‘Xiah Junsu Evergreen School’ so that the students can preserve dreams as fresh and green as the trees and grow their own futures. I hope that everyone will grow up to become an important leader of our future.”
Junsu wasn’t able to attend due to his musical, ‘Elizabeth‘, but made sure to leave a message stating,“I’d love to visit everyone the next time I get an opportunity and sing and dance with you all.”
The town also set up a gate with the message ‘Kim Junsu Support Town’ to express their gratitude for all he’s done.

On a more serious note, Junsu and his family give back as much as they recieve. Sometimes I wonder if there really is such a thing as fate. Maybe, some people really are placed on this world to help others. Those kids may not grow up to be leaders or even care about junsu’s music, but they can have a chance at positively impacting their own community with education. Junsu and his family have made it possible by creating a solution to a problem.
I have to admit some of the prices for cds/dvds that they put out makes me cringe, because I’ve never in my life been that kind of dedicated fan. But when I read things like this from all three of them, the pain I get from my wallet isn’t as bad since I know they are putting their wealth to good use.

Chun is generous as well, but I think in this precise moment he wants to invest in his family.
In one of Yoochun’s interviews, he said he does some charity work but does not want it to be publicized.
It made a good joke though. 😛 Charity’s not about one-upmanship anyways. ^_^

Chunnie doesn’t want his charities publicized according to him. But people will only think he’s not as generous as the others since his charities aren’t being fully disclosed. I remember last year too we didn’t here alot about his charities compared to the other two, but at the end of the year, he was at the top of the list of celebrities who donated most in terms of charities. He’s too secretive. But I know not to judge him.
I remember during Mirotic era, they were guests @ a radio station. The host asked what bad quality each member had and Jaejoong said “Yoochun’s generosity. He always picks up the tab whenever we go out and buys gifts for the staff.” Then the host said “Isn’t that a good thing? You don’t have to pay since YC spends it on you.” Then JJ said “Yes, but he should think of himself too. He needs to save up for the future. I really worry about him.”

One day when the youth of Korea will no longer remember Junsu’s name and only their grandmothers (or grandfathers) remember the glory days of JYJ and how big their hearts are, somewhere in Cambodia or in some part of the world, a grandfather, a father or a child will still say “thank you” to Xiah Junsu for being an instrument for them to have a good school and be able to change their future for the better through education. The same goes with Jaejoong and Yuchun…
when these three young men constantly, continuously find ways to give back to those in need, how can we, their fans, help ourselves from loving them more for it? they’ve never forgotten the times when THEY needed a lift, needed a hand, and they make sure never to sit back and think “we’ve done enough”. i am just amazed and touched every time i see another article about their wide-ranging helping hands.
Jaejoong, Yuchun, Junsu, you guys rock my world, you are my star, my hero, I’m so very grateful that you use your fame and broad reach to do so much good in this world. Not only do you give generously yourselves but you deliberately inspire your fans to do the same. Saranghae!
