Cheer up guys, I don’t think he means to make you sad. It seems like after reading this, he felt that it would have been very helpful during past crisis. Its sweet that he wants to share something that he connected with on a personal level. Always thinking of the fans.
To Jae~
“Anyone can give up, it’s the easiest thing in the world to do. But to hold it together when everyone else would understand if you fell apart, that’s true strength.”
And I believe he is one strong lad!
I bet he is. No; I AM SURE HE IS. He’s a very strong hearted and bright souled man.
¡Jaejoong! ¡ALWAYS KEEP YOUR FAITH BABY! 🙂
Hi @Shuheilove dear~ been missing you lots~

Me hope so too~
@Shadow…did not see you for a while…How are you, sis??? ^_____^
Hi dear @Anva~
Been busy so haven’t been visiting as often as I like…
How are you? 🙂
It’s French published, I read the English version. It talked about a young man who look more deeply into himself and thus starts him on an intense adventure of self-discovery. How he comes to understand that what he believes has become his reality. Through the reflections, experiences, he learns to free himself from the long-held beliefs.
I think Jae reflected on what happened on what had happened last 2-3 years, and at peace with himself now, knowing his ife path and moves on.
It is indeed motivating personal development book. Good recommedation from Jae.
oops had repeated words… typo error.
thank you!
for clarification – the english version i read is not a full version.
The official release of the English is next jul/ aug.
OOO…Thank you so much!!! ^__^

Jae’s deep thinker and …he makes me think out of the box..
yes! Jae fighting!
sometimes, talking about sadness doesnt mean that you re sad . a lot of laughter and smiles are also not the sign of happiness.you might cry when you re too happy and maybe laugh to ease the pain in your heart.
I googled it and find some reviews, seems very interesting

it seems like a good book. the google trans of that wikipedia page actually makes sense LOL!
The Man Who Would be happy is a philosophical novel by Laurent Gounelle asking “How can I be happy? “. It combines the concepts of choice, happiness, Personal Legend (mentioned in The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho).
The narrator spends his holidays in a bungalow in Bali. At the end of his vacation, he goes to see a Balinese wise it states that it is healthy but he is not happy. The sage asked him to do such research on placebos, he learned to make choices:
He said he is not to avoid obstacles in life, but overcoming them with courage.
It should also do what you love, because we are often influenced by several external factors (Personal Legend, a concept that is not mentioned in the book).
Finally, the last very important idea: We are what we believe (Buddha). That is to say that if you have a positive self-image, it will be appreciated by others and vice versa. What we believe is of course very important. Never to denigrate, diminish in front of others. These are the key to happiness.
The end of the novel suggests that the narrator resumes from Bali happy, having achieved his goal-that of becoming happy. This book discusses the pursuit of happiness, has always sought by men but rarely found despite numerous attempts often unsuccessful.
A book of philosophy, which seeks to introduce the reader to the concept of pursuit of happiness, endless quest and can discuss with a solid foundation of other books on the same subject.
That’s awesome book…it teaches us about the true happiness and how can we reach the true happiness
Don’t you just love it when your idols read books? It’s more admirable when he/she recommends a good book….
Intelectual Jaejoong to seduce my senses and my brain 🙂 The most powerful kind of seduction; the one carried out with the knowledge and the thoughts
+1 to both your comments 😉
I’d love to rifle Jaejoong’s book shelves…. if I could read Hangul! 🙂 This book sounds really good, & points out that the only place to find true happiness is inside of yourself, not externally through things or other people.
Agree with u) totally admirable.. I’ve just thought about that…
and the books he reads always sound really interesting. It’s just sad that some of them on korean only
yup! the last thing you want is an idol with nothing between his head.
Jaejoong always use his life experience to cheer up all people around him (like us) !!!!
I’m learning how to make myself happy ……… so I’m always happy !!!
Always feel thanks to even small thing so I feel happy (also learn from Jaejoong) , give more love to all people around me or even far from me !!!
Love more Jaejoong & JYJ ……. I also feel happy !!!
V@_^V
Jae if they wanted you to be a novel promoter you’re perfect for the job ^^
why did that make me feel soooo sad like my heart was torn??? remember Jae, U always have us, ur loving followers, even tho ur not my bias, i still love U dearly!!! i pray that soon u’ll find a girlfriend that is deserving of U and that will make U extremely happy!!! ^_~ SARANGHAE JAE!!!
Always the inspiration and a trendsetter x)) I expect this book will be a bestseller in no time.
And as a note, I’m rendered at a loss of words how to describe this man these days. There is so much to say that I can seam together a coherent whole of words about how far he has come & developed as an individual.
Welcome to my world sweetie. I know other sisters who suffer the same illness: The lack of proper and diverse words to describe Kim Jaejoong’s absolute beauty. 🙂
I believe the English translation for this book would be out be next year though… around summer time in the US.
If you want to purchase an english version… AMAZON is taking Pre-orders for the release of the title in July 15 2012.

I feel grateful and happy the way Jaejoong let’s us feel with him. He knows we are here for him. He knows we listen. I think he takes us everywhere with him. We are part of him.
I wish one day this kind of personal reflection would be mirrored in the music he creates. It probably has, but for whatever he has decided to not publish it.
The Man Who Wanted to Be Happy.
Here is an extended review of the book for anyone who might be interested.

Laurent Gounelle Teaches Us How to be Happy
My quest for self-understanding and happiness continues and it takes me again to Bali. Laurent Gounelle’s The Man Who Wanted to be Happy is the first book I bought from the Sofia Book Market. It is only 130 pages, which I read for exactly 4 hours. I couldn’t let go of the book, I was a human possessed. Gounelle’s style is simple and easy to follow. The book is a light reading on a very difficult issue – the issue of individual happiness.
Laurent Gounelle is a famous French writer and psychiatrist. He has travelled the world, meeting with different people to discuss the problem of human behavior and balance. It is safe to say that his novel is as close to an autobiography as it can possibly be. L’Homme Qui Voulait Etre Heureux (I just love the French title) combines a novelist story with popular psychology to arrive at a story that is familiar to each and every one of us. After all, the quest for happiness is why we live on Earth. Many people though mistakenly believe they are happy because they possess material goods that society claims to be vital. Gounelle shows us that true happiness can be achieved only when an individual acts according to his or her moral principles. In that way and in that way only happiness and balance will become an integral part of our life.
The protagonist is spending a few weeks in Bali, when he decides to meet with a popular local healer. Even though his health is in good shape, Julian is not happy. He has been trapped in the reality of his perceptions and beliefs, which interrupts his ability to be content. The healer invites him on journey of self understanding, which shows to the American tourist that the world he has come to percept is not real. What’s more, the way he percepts himself affects his relationships and his successes.
Gounelle uses simple examples to illustrate the main flaws of contemporary society. People tend to believe something about themselves, which is often destructive and unreal. Whether they believe they are beautiful or ugly, boring or interesting, thin or fat, these beliefs tend to shape their reality. People start perceiving the world according to this modified reality of theirs. This tendency to believe fallacies about ourselves may be caused by a troubled childhood, by problems with friends and relatives, or by several failures.Through several straightforward examples and stories the healer changes Julian’s view of the world. He shows him that reality depends on your attitude towards it. If people are positive and happy, they tend to see the beauty of the world around them. If they are scared and suspicious, this will affect negatively their relationship with others and with the world.
I really loved Gounelle’s novel because of the simple way the author describes all these ideas. I came to the understanding that I know all of these staff but in reality I fail to apply them. I lack to a large extent confidence in myself, which badly affects the way I behave towards other people. I am mostly negative and thus I tend to notice only the problems in my life. That is why I fail to see how many things I need to be grateful for and I mistakenly claim life to be terrible and unfair. This simply theory of how to be happy is not so simple to apply. What I (and people in general) need to do is change my attitude. I remember last summer, when I was positive and inspired. I liked communicating with people and I wanted improve my skills and to meet new people when I was an intern. Thus, my whole summer was a paradise, where I achieved what I wanted and I liked my life. Similarly, the following year I had some issues and I started perceiving everything in gray colors. I was disappointed by my failures and I believed I will always fail. Thus, I saw only my issues and I hated my life.
Simple, isn’t it? In The Man Who Wanted to be Happy Gounelle shares this amazing story to show the individual that he/she is the only barrier to his/her own happiness. Gounelle claims that the only way to find balance with yourself is to follow your dreams and to act according to your morals. Whenever you feel down, remember, that your thoughts and your beliefs shape your life and not the other way around.
In The Man Who Wanted to be Happy the setting of this quest for self understanding is again Bali. Just like in Eat Pray Love. I am seriously thinking that the first place I will visit when I have the resources will be indeed Bali. I just long to touch this spirituality myself and to feel what many writers have felt themselves. Maybe even I can then write a novel about my journey. Hopefully towards understanding who I am and what I want so that I can finally be happy.

@Lili
😀 😀
@shuheilove
It sounds like a great book to get my daughter, actually. She’s been having some issues with negative thinking and poor self-esteem in the last year or so. Her fears have NO basis in reality, needless to say. But it’s hard to be the one to tell her that because she says, “Oh Mom, you’re just saying that because you’re my Mom…”
@Lili
I’ve read a short review and yes, it seems to be a very good book to increase self.esteem. It would be nice if she could read it. Maybe you can give it to her as a birthday gift or so? Btw, I think both your daughter and I, we’re almost the same age 😀 LOL, if you’re wondering why do I know about it, well, I am a Latin cuasi- Sherlock Holmes….. 😉
@shuheilove
“Btw, I think both your daughter and I, we’re almost the same age LOL, if you’re wondering why do I know about it, well, I am a Latin cuasi- Sherlock Holmes….. ”
LOL! Well, then, Ms Holmes, you know all too well how COMPLETELY wrong my dear daughter is in her self assessment. This is what breaks my heart. That she can have such ridiculous gifts and intelligence and beauty and continue to feel bad about herself. This is why depression so very dangerous. The depressed person isn’t thinking rationally. Anyway, thanks for the kind words.
xxoo
@Lili
I understand what you mean. 🙂 🙂 I hope she really manage to abandon her negative thoughts and feelings and to recover her self-esteem in the midtime. Hugs you dearest.
He seems to have a lot of thoughts floating around. Maybe Jae will write a book of his own someday.
@seobehrin
You know, now that you say that, I think it to be entirely possible. I really believe he will write a book. Perhaps sooner than we think and maybe even more than one. Yes, interesting that you say that. The idea suits Jae down to the ground.
@seobehrin I always think that he will write a book someday~
Seems like he is reading a lot of books recently ^^ It’s a very good habit. I will defenitly read this book.
this is truly the perfect book for kim jaejoong.
anyone with an ounce of sensibility can tell that jaejoong has never really been happy throughout his life. and those who say that hes happy or content now are in denial because they are unable to fathom the reality that some of the choices jaejoong made in his life have brought him nothing but more pain.
the reality is that this book is about a person who realizes through self-reflection that he is his own barrier to happiness and peace.
jaejoong has always seen himself as a type of Tragic Hero on a quest to fight against the rich and powerful, therefore he was never fully happy because there was always something that made him sad. i remember yoochun once saying that jaejoong tends to be quite pessimistic and this is probably one of the reasons why hes always looking at the negatives rather than moving forward by focusing on the positives.
jaejoong needs to stop feeling like some story’s tragic hero and stop pitying himself all the time. yes he might be facing some troubles but he also has a huge fanbase still supporting and loving him no matter what. his tours are selling out, has dramas are getting aired and doing very well rating-wise, his music is at the top of the charts and selling by the bucket loads, his (& all of JYJ’s members) CFs are on tv, his face is frequently on the cover of magazines, and hes surrounded by his friends and family who care a whole lot about him.
focus on the positive jaejoong!! thats the only way u will ever find true happiness and peace
@sandra
Ditto ^^
@sandra
WOW! Way to go Miss Insensitive. (Yes, I am being sarcastic.)
“his tours are selling out, has dramas are getting aired and doing very well rating-wise, his music is at the top of the charts and selling by the bucket loads, his (& all of JYJ’s members) CFs are on tv, his face is frequently on the cover of magazines”
If you read any of the numerous reviews posted on this very page, you’ll realize that this book is about not being able to find happiness in material things or at the hands of others. Which is exactly why Jaejoong has recommended the book, & probably the reason why he read it to begin with. As for him not moving forward – the past 2 years have been about nothing but moving forward, fighting his hardest to overcome incredibly difficult circumstances & always working to improve himself, professionally & personally. That he’s comfortable expressing his pain & unhappiness to his fans is something I personally cherish. & for someone who has only a limited perception of what his day to day life is like (which is the case for all of us fans, because regardless of how much the guys do share, they don’t share EVERYTHING), your comment is incredibly insensitive, ignorant & arrogant. If you really want to kick someone when they are down, I can direct you to a puppy with 2 broken legs after his owner/bitch threw him from a 15 metre high window. (Yes, I am being sarcastic again.)
Lol^^
Love your words @Sapphire 🙂
I wonder when does introducing a book equals to self-pitying himself <_<||| duh!
She’s obviously talking about an unknown person, not about the Kim Jaejoong that I know.
¡Girl! ¡You are as tender, considerate and sweet as a scorpion is! ¡GEEZ!
@Shuheilove (who I wish would email me privately)
@Shadow
“She’s obviously talking about an unknown person, not about the Kim Jaejoong that I know.”
Her post took me aback. I had to think about it for awhile. Did it ring true? Was it, while jarring and obviously unpopular, containing a grain or two of truth? I do judge these things carefully because she spoke largely of her own intuition which is a thing that I also do. But upon careful reflection, I must say that the ladies of JYJ3 have once again called it like it is.
I can not truly say that I believe that Jaejoong is systemically unhappy. He may have his moments, but if he is not allowed these, then what kind of system have we really subjected him to?? I have posted before that a certain amount of melancholia is essential to the creative process. I believe this. It may yet be proven to be a complete fiction. But for the moment, that’s what I think.
Jaejoong is that perfect storm of blinding light, indomitable desire and surpassing generosity of spirit, ever-so slightly mixed with alone-ness and….oh, lets just say wistfulness. He KNOWS at this point that he is blessed and he is sublimely fortunate. Above all, he KNOWS he is loved by millions. But he needs to get into that creative headspace. And so he goes within and when he gets there he finds that dissatisfied little kid he was when he knew he wanted what was completely unreasonable for anyone like him to ever want: he wanted to become a superstar, an icon, a GOD among men. The bad news: that young boy who had virtually NO chance of achieving his dreams is still within him. The good news: do I really even need to say it?
🙂
@Shuhei
Iol^^ it depends really on who I’m dealing with…. Lol
@Lili
You said it, sistar!
Once in a while, this extremely kindhearted and sweet person gets a little moody… But so what? Don’t everybody have their moments like that?
And honestly, with what JYJ had and is still facing, it’s a surprise it aint worse!
But as I’ve always said, our boys are stronger than we thought.
I lately I’ve felt the same way …
However, sometimes we have to learn to live with the pain and loneliness …The Life is hard …
and I know they have gone through too many things these past two years….nobody really knows what they have suffered …
JaeJoong has been through a lot since they have done little more vulnerable …I would protect him and no one will get hurt him …
I’ve been through a lot in these months …
I hope Chunnie and Su really take care of JaeJoongnie…The depression can be dangerous
JaeJoongnie….Please you must be always happy!!!
what they have done so far is the best decision that they have taken
for my….JYJ is the BEST…..even more than their former group (sorry OT5 and HoMin Fans….maybe some people are angry …. but I think the three have done a better job as JYJ)
JaeJoong is a great human being who deserves all the happiness in the world ……I love JaeJoong and JYJ 4ever!!

@Kiera
“i want to hear them sing properly because believe it or not they have AMAZINg voices that are no less powerful than JYJ’s. changmin’s vocal range is probably one of the biggest i have every come across in my life but its his crystal clear low and medium tones that get me nuts everytime. as for Yunho. ppl are always blabbing about how he cant sing yet they act so shocked when they hear him deliver an incredible ballad performance like the one he did earlier today at the SBS festival when singing the SM ballad.”
All right then, Kiera. You must be happy beyond imagining. I think that’s great. My question to you is: What are you doing HERE?? This is a site for people who like and want to talk about JYJ. We really won’t be sharing your joy over the magic of Homin. Maybe another site would be more to your liking as we will mostly be discussing issues that have to do with JYJ.
i believe i did say that i love JYJ and still support them even if my bias is HoMin. if i had said that i love and support JYJ even though my bias in music is Beyonce would u have also posted such comment??
are we not allowed to like JYJ if we like Homin too?? im sorry am i not allowed on this site if i like homin even though i like JYJ too and have supported them endlessly with their past 2 albums?
if anything my comment should have made stans like u happy since i have made it clear that both groups are doing much better now that they are on their own than when they were together..or does being a JYJ fan = hating HoMin to u?
i realize that not all JYJ stans are as frustrating as u are and im sure there are many other more reasonable JYJ fans here who will agree with me BUT its stans like u (within any group..ie not limited to JYJ) that make Kpop music fandoms seem more based on hate rather than on supporting ones’ favorite group
im not here to offend JYJ fans at all neither am i a troll. im sure if u bothered reading my comment partially and with an OPEN MIND u would understand that (remember jaejoong’s words :keep ur head up and KEEP AN OPEN MIND).
u need to understand that JYJ, like other singers, need as many fans as possible to buy their records. that includes pple who might not necessarily have a bias towards them but are still willing to support them by buying their music. U should not be offending those pple if u truly care for ur oppas
its good that i knw that not all fans are representative of their idols
forgot to mention this but i made a reference to HoMin because i wanted to make a point that BOTH sides are doing well and that ALL fans should be happy and move one from the whole OT5 stuff.
everyone here knws how well JYJ are doing even when music stations are banning their music. however there seemed to be a general thought that HoMin cannot exist without JYJ or that HoMin stans want JYJ back which is not the case and for this i made the reference to HoMin.
both sides are doing great, probably better than they ever did before, and for this reason we should be happy for their decisions and support them as such.
i didnt write down an essay about HoMin, but only made a small reference to them to explain my honest view on both HoMin and JYJ..
didnt realize that i had committed a crime when i did that!!
also u took my comment out of context when u only highlighted the parts about HoMin. why didnt u include the parts i talked about JYJ too?? or would that have then ruined u insinuation that im nothing more than a homin troll?
@Kiera
Girl, I understand your point. The only thing I want to say to you is, maybe it would be proper if you moderate your passionate speech towards @Lilibaiyu. You don’t know who she is, but I can assure you she has both the authority and the knowledge needed to talk in such terms. Please, show a little respect little girl. Thanks 🙂
Btw, I agree about CM’s voice 😉
LMAO! Perhaps she’s getting bored over there since she probably talking among herself. ~poor soul *pat pat*
@Kiera
¿Are you a music pro? It seems not.
“SMP style of music is suppose to be manly, powerful, and fierce. Yunho and changmin excel at this style which is why they are now being introduced as SMP Kings. JYJ’s voices are much more tender and soft in quality compared to homin’s which is why the effect is not the same.”
“Also since Homin are my bias i actually dont want tvxq5 to come back again because i dont want to see yunho and changmin being thrown to the side during ballads with yunho only given the dance parts while changmin gets the screaming parts.”
¿Do you really think Homin were ” thrown to the side during ballads “, as you say, without a reason, being YH the most loved by SM’s CEO among the five? ¡NOOOO! It’s because JYJ always were the best voices of TVXQ. No more talk.
@kiera
‘u need to understand that JYJ, like other singers, need as many fans as possible to buy their records. that includes pple who might not necessarily have a bias towards them but are still willing to support them by buying their music. U should not be offending those pple if u truly care for ur oppas”
So in other words JYJ3 and JYJ Fans should be more accommodating and gracious to all those ” homin-glorifying-fans-in this site” anyway they still support JYJ through buying their albums OR ELSE JYJ album sales will decline, what a shallow logic. I didn’t know that buying an album is dependent to some fans behavior, all I know is that one buys an album because she likes the music and the artists.
“does being a JYJ fan = hating HoMin”
Where did you get that equation?
I think most of JYJ3ers have no time for that HATE part, WE just don’t like to talk or read about them here in JYJ3. Yes, we are comfortable talking about BigBang, Aziatic, Beast or any other figures but not them…WHY? I think you’re smart enough to know why, I don’t think you’re a neophyte on this fandom. So if you want to preach how wonderful and awesome you’re beloved oppas are, look for the proper place where they belong, JYJ3 rules are clear right?
@Kiera
“are we not allowed to like JYJ if we like Homin too?? im sorry am i not allowed on this site if i like homin even though i like JYJ too and have supported them endlessly with their past 2 albums?”
Kiera dear, you’re “allowed” to like whoever you like, obviously. What a ridiculous question. This is the point, rather. You like who you like and, one would hope, find places where others do likewise. There are lots of places that enjoy Homin. JYJ3 is not a place that enjoys Homin. If this is your bias, then you will not be happy here. That’s just the truth, it’s not said to hurt your feelings.
you said: ” if anything my comment should have made stans like u happy since…. etc”
Just for the record and for your information, I am not a “stan” of anyone. I don’t even know what that word means, to be honest with you. Likewise, I might just tell you that JYJ are not my “oppas” nor have I ever belonged to a fanclub of the long disbanded group DBSK that still tells me what I must like, who I must like and that I must continue liking them when I have decided for myself that I no longer do.
Here is a good general rule to follow for future reference: JYJ3 is our home. This is where we come everyday because we love JYJ and we enjoy discussing what is going on with them, which seems to change almost hourly sometimes. This is largely a DISCUSSION forum of good friends. We do not call each other rude names or insult people when they don’t agree with us. But more importantly, it is very bad manners to enter someone’s home for the first time and speak in such a way as to ignore the rules of the house. Then, in the very next thing you post, start to hurl insulting remarks around at people you don’t even know. Hence, my original post to you that JYJ3 might NOT be a good fit for you, that perhaps you would be happier and fit in better elsewhere.
Most of us here do not enjoy Homin. Those who do are low key, do not use the fact as a constant reason for hostile confrontation and above all they are mindful of the house rules. There is NO earthly reason why we should be told we must enjoy Homin, or having been told so (by you) why we should suddenly like something we don’t like. So I will end this post by echoing your first remark above. No one MUST like music they don’t like, or a group of people they can’t respect.
errrrr……………………………………………………….
What is SMP style?
JYJ3 is for people like us who love, support and appreciate JYJ. Not a forum for bashing or arguing who is better. Cheers.
Again. again….@kiera..i unserstand everything you said…HM’s music is your style, I respect that…but it not mean the style for all pps include me…and yes, i am not Hm hater..dont need like JYJ mean have to hate HM..NO…but this is JYJ site only..the site have the rule about it ( please read) with alot of reason ( why??we did explain too many time aready-) and we not comfortable to talk about HM …if you want to talk about them with pps the same view with you should be nicer..why dont you go OT5 or HM site??? really need to talk about them in here??…just basic polite .you dont go pps house and talk something pps dont feel like or comforable!!!! hope we have aleast one the same thing ” JYJ” that be nice in the new year…happy new year!!
@JaejoongJYJislove
