“We will inform the winners (or their entertainment company) directly about the results during December and they will be sent an award certificate.”
Ah that’s what I was wondering – who they were working with to make it “official”. (You know how people toss that word around). Cool & thanks for the answer! ^^

@lache
THIS IS WHY THEY HAD TO CHARGE $300 FOR THE DVD!
Because people like you and the one who uploaded the DVDs have no problem STEALING and then encouraging others to steal!
By spreading the link around you are encouraging others to engage in theft!
YES I SAID IT! IT IS THEFT!
AND DON’T TELL ME TO TAKE A CHILL PILL!
I PAY FOR MY MUSIC, THAT’S HOW I SHOW MY SUPPORT!
YES EVERY SINGLE TIME I PAY!
You are justified in asking to have this link removed, but your response is over the line.
I get what you’re saying, that is not why they had to charge $300 for the DVD. Everything gets uploaded all the time, and it doesn’t drive the prices of stuff up. I don’t know why you’d justify the insane price with such reasoning. It’s comments like this that make everyone else laugh at JYJ fans so much.
I have mixed feelings on this. Most fans can’t afford a $300 DVD. That does not mean by sharing they are not a supporter. Most people just can’t support $300. I’m not saying what this person did was right or wrong, but you are over the line, as well.
This DVD has caused a major rift between the “haves” and the “have nots” in fandom. I think the “haves” (of which I am one) need to be a tad more sensitive. JYJ are filthy rich and show it. It’s hard to cry that they are losing money to the same kind of piracy that happens every day, 1000 times a day. The people who will download that video are the people who can’t afford to buy it anyway, so no money lost. Seriously, I have never seen so many people turn into such hardline hyper-capitalists over anything in this fandom before. This stupid DVD was such a huge mistake for JYJ.
@ not a crock!
What do you think could possibly be the reason for why the DVD costs that much? Just curiosity.
It is theft, whether it’s a $300 DVD or a $3 DVD.
What they lose to piracy is not just profits, it’s respect for intellectual property and also the acknowledgement and rights of ANY artistes’ and their staff working on the products.
The issue is not just money but basic respect. By calling it a stupid DVD you insult everyone who worked on it. By providing illegal downloads, the person is not any modern day Robin Hood but actually someone who shows utmost disrespect for both those who produce a product and also those who buy it legally.
By the same logic, it applies to the production of musical products. It is a vicious cycle as well and it is detrimental to commercial music across the globe. I have seen artistes slaving over recording, from the writing of the songs to the final mastering and the attention to the factory production of the CDs, not to have their album released illegally online before he release date. The blow is not just the lost of profits but the blatant disregard for their hard work and it is robbing, robbing them of their dignity and their hard work.
@NingK
Oh dear god…you are defending the emotions of a DVD. I cannot believe you are lecturing me on the dangers of copyright infringement. Please request JYJ3 shut down then, because damn near everything posted here is a copyright infringement.
And in case you failed to notice, my objection was to the way in which “Friend” made her post; I never said it was okay to post the download link. Please, go lecture the 1000+ people who used and reblogged the link. I’m not the one who ripped my DVDs and uploaded them.
Please, take that tired old lecture to someone who actually needs it. And stop being the thought police. If I wanna call a DVD stupid, I will. If that hurts your feelings then you need a new hobby.
You have problems in comprehension perhaps? ^_^ I was saying it was disrespecting those who worked on it, did I ever say a DVD can feel hurt?
Believe me, we are upset whenever piracy occurs. You don’t spend months working on something and be happy to see it being shared illegally or worse, called stupid.
@NingK
Oh boo hoo. It’s stupid stupid stupid stupid stupid. Are you crying now? Really, if this upsets you I have no idea how you function with devastating crises such as unflattering reviews of your favorite movies or a person stepping on your toe on the subway.
Again, you shouldn’t even be on this site because it’s literally packed to the gills with illegal material. Go yell at the person who uploaded the DVD, not a random person on a fansite who called something stupid. You are not going to accomplish anything high-horsing with me.
(I called it stupid because of the problems its caused in fandom. You know, like the problem we’re having right now.)
@NingKNingK
A law is a law. You abide by the rules. I’m replying to you since there’s no point in enlightening that poser you were having an argument with. It’s like talking to a wall. Thank you for providing a rebuttal in a STATELY manner since it only instigated more asinine comments from that crock. Sweetie, there’s something fishy about that “crock”. I couldn’t help but notice her comments, not just in this but on other posts as well. He/she is a TWO-FACED.
How exactly am I two-faced? And how am I a poser? Do you even know what those words mean?
I never said that I think it’s okay to post links to download that DVD. I didn’t like the way “Friend” responded like a hysterical lunatic, and I think the way a lot of people here are acting is incredibly hypocritical. This is the only illegal download anyone seems to care about. The millions of other equally-illegal posts here go unremarked. Even now, you’re babbling about “a law is a law”, feeling all good about yourself, thinking you are morally superior. Did you watch those award show videos posted here recently? Hey, that’s copyrighted and posting them on youtube is illegal! It doesn’t matter that it’s the only way anyone outside of Korea can watch the shows – IT’S STILL ILLEGAL AND A LAW IS A LAW. (btw, for the record, I support JYJ3’s decision not to post/allow links to COO. I don’t support insulting and screaming at people who post the links, even if they did break the rules. I am human and have much empathy in this situation. You’ll notice the admins simply deleted the links, didn’t screech like lunatics about it.)
I’ve been a fan for a long time, longer than many people here, from posts I’ve seen. I went through all the crap with SM, the TVXQ breakup, and every piece of horrible garbage JYJ has had to endure. I’ve spent vast sums supporting them actively. I’ve watched them make some mistakes, too, things that hurt their credibility with the public, things that cost them money, things that backlashed against them, and things that divided their fans. I don’t blindly worship everything they do, because at heart I’m worried about how it affects them. The Nature Republic thing bothered me because I think it hurt JYJ themselves to be marketed, in Korea, only to rich Japanese. I assure you, that has caused problems for them in Korea. This DVD (which comes after numerous other high-priced merchandise) bothers me because I think it’s losing them fans more than it’s gaining them, and quite obviously it’s causing conflict in fandom. These things are on my mind all the time when I watch their choices. I am very worried about the direction things are going. It’s more complex than just looking at chart numbers and thinking JYJ are the kings of Korea. My fears may or may not have a basis, but my concern is genuine. But if saying these things is just going to get me called a poser, two-faced, and fishy, then I don’t see any point in commenting here. If constant (often misplaced) cheerleading coupled with harassment of anyone who doesn’t toe the line is how JYJ fans want to act, then so be it. I’ve tried to go to bat for you guys with C-JeS, tried to get them to accommodate i-fans better (even though I live in Korea and it doesn’t personally benefit me). Part of the reason 3hree Voices II Photobook was sold overseas was because of my efforts. Part of the reason everyone didn’t have to pay $100 shipping for Come on Over was because of my efforts. And I have defended the crap out of C-JeS when people here have expressed frustration with the lack of i-fan support. And I did these things not because I care so much about i-fans but because I care about JYJ and want them to be successful.
So if I occasionally say something critical of JYJ’s choices, or about how someone other than JYJ handled something related to JYJ, you can just stop assuming it’s because I’m fishy and secretly hate JYJ or whatever silly things you’ve got in your brain. Believe it or not, it is possible to have an attitude other than blind worship and still be a fan, and criticism often comes from wanting to help improve something. Also, believe it or not, fans are humans and sometimes humans experience various emotions other than fawning adulation.
And now my New Year’s Resolution is clearly going to be to stop bothering trying to interact with international JYJ fans, because too many of you would rather live in your misinformed little bubble and continue to post erroneous BS. While many of you see yourselves as great defenders of JYJ, often you are so out of step with reality that you actually don’t help JYJ. So, enjoy your self-imposed isolation from the rest of the world. (And now a list of “wonderful” things JYJ i-fans have done is not necessary because I am fully aware of all of them.)
@Not a crock
If I may ask what exactly are the criticisms facing JYJ in Korea? As you know not many of us know Korean or Japanese and translating material is often times pointless and erroneous. (thanks a freaking lot google…)
I’d like to know because I always hear contradictory things. Some people tell me idols are seen as the utter worst in the music scene and others tell me that they are so popular and well loved. How true is it that entertainment companies constantly promote them? Others mention government promotion of the Hallyu wave but don’t know why the gov’t won’t step in to help JYJ by keeping SM from interfering in their activities. CJeS confuses me at times too.
From what I have been able to gather I think everyone in Korea knows that this “take over the music industry of the world” thing is kinda…..bullshit.
Let’s support JYJ legally. There’s a reason why Come On Over is expensive. I can’t speak for everyone but this is how I see it. It was supposed to be a reality show. They were going to earn from sponsors and commercials during its run. But it was cancelled. So they were left with the show that was never aired on tv. There were lots of people who worked on this show that needs to be paid. Not just C-Jes, JYJ, staff, but perhaps more just to come up with the said show. They were not able to recover the expenses due to cancellation. They decided to make it into DVD instead. Now here’s a comparison, when you look at original Korean dramas, their DVD sets are expensive too. Despite the fact that they were already shown on tv and had its share of viewership, their DVD prices are still quite steep and nobody’s complaining. So it’s to be expected that Come On Over is higher because it’s a show that never reached its viewers and was not able to earn from commercial ads. I know it’s way beyond everyone’s budget. I can’t afford it myself. But supporting piracy is just not the right thing to do.
Dude, that’s not how TV works. QTV gets the money from sponsors, not C-JeS. Drama DVDs are released by the networks that air them, not by the people who star in them. You’re talking apples and oranges. Truth is, NONE OF US know why the DVD is so damn expensive. You’re saying these things like they’re facts.
I’m not saying it’s right to pirate the DVD, I’m just saying your response is most likely complete fiction.
We don’t know if they had to buy the footages back from QTV and yes, they most probably had to as they probably signed release forms prior to the recording which gives QTV rights to those footages. We could speculate but might never know how much they had to pay. I won’t even assume that QTV would give them the footages for free. They obviously spent money filming it in the first place and I don’t think they are a charitable organisation.
@NingK
I will quote from my previous post: “Truth is, NONE OF US know why the DVD is so damn expensive.” Once again, you are lecturing the wrong person.
Actually the why is obvious.
They called it “private” DVD initially right? They wanted to make it something INDEED private. As in, something not all fans can have easily, and fans who have it would feel like they have some private relationship with / knowledge about JYJ that most other people don’t have.
It is true that $300 is something many people can’t afford. Which in my opinion is precisely why it’s so expensive.
Like, why are luxury products so expensive? Not only because of their good quality, but because if everyone could have it it wouldn’t be “luxury” products anymore. This DVD is just like that, a “luxury” product
(Not going to comment on the illegal links sharing, whether people think it’s good or not anyway there’s a low about it and laws are supposed to be obeyed).
Congrat.. JYJ… Dae to the Bak
They so deserve accolades such as this. Hope it helps to inspire them to shine even brighter! Keep on soaring, JYJ!!!
