Lee Seung Gi and Ha Ji Won were confirmed for MBC’s new Wednesday-Thursday drama ‘The King’ (scriptwriter: Hong Jin Ah, director: Lee Jae Kyu). On the other hand, Park Yoochun is casted as the leading actor in SBS’s new Wednesday-Thursday drama ‘Rooftop Prince’ (scriptwriter: Lee Hee Myung, director: Shin Yoon Sub). Together with Han Ji Min, a romance is set to unfold in the drama.
‘The King’ is a humor melodrama/black comedy in which a romance unfolds between a ‘South Korean Prince’ from a fictitious royal family of a monarchy Lee Jae Ha and Special Forces ‘Legendary Female Trainer’ Kim Hang Ah.
Lee Seung Gi will act as the handsome Lee Jae Ha, a South Korean prince who has intellectual humor. Although he may look perfect from the outside, he is a snobbish and frank person with great ambitions. Lee Seung Gi will be able to show off his unique charm in this drama.
‘Rooftop Prince’ is fantasy romantic comedy in which Lee Gak, a Joseon Dynasty prince lost his princess and time-traveled 300 years to Seoul in the 21st century with his subjects. He falls in love, which he is unable to do so in the past.
Park Yoochun, who received a lot of love for his debut role in ‘Sungkyunkwan Scandal’ will act in a Sageuk drama again by playing the role of Lee Gak. It is certain that one is able to experience the charm of the prince in modern time as he time-travels from the past to the present. The drama will show comical scenes of the prince who cannot adapt to the present time. It is set to show the charm of a different kind of romance.
‘The King’ will be aired after the conclusion of ‘The Moon That Embraces the Sun’ and ‘Rooftop Prince’ will be shown after the conclusion of ‘Please Take Care of Us, Captain’. Lee Seung Gi and Park Yoochun, who both play the role of a prince, will be responsible for the dramas that will be aired in the two broadcasting companies in March. As such, the face-off is an inevitable situation.
There is high interest in whether Lee Seung Gi or Park Yoochun will triumph this spring.
