After finishing “The Beginning”, Kanye West praised Jaejoong, Yoochun and Junsu. He said they were very responsible, hard workers, serious and dedicated and it would be great for him to work with JYJ again anytime in the future. It seems NOW is the future 😀

HIs part in Ayyy Girl was the worse part of the entire album only saved by JYJ! The remix they did of Ayyy Girl with the acappella harmony in concert is freakin’ amazing though. I’m so excited!!! I can’t wait!! ^_________^ I can’t stop smiling!! So I’m guessing this means sometime in the Fall? Concert in the Fall/Winter? I hope so much they come back to the East Coast in the U.S.!! JYJ please come back to us!! ooooo. I can’t wait to hear their English again! Oh so many things to be excited about!! ^_____________________^
I just hope he and Kanye West step up their game in this new collab….and JYJ too. Kanye West could have given them a better song…..Ayyy Girl was good but it fell apart somewhere in the middle. Also, I love my boys but they need to improve their English and step up their game in that department. Se7en, Boa, etc. all learned English and even though they weren’t perfect they were good. I have faith in my boys abilities and hope they have actually been studying during some of that time off.

I hope so. Yes, boa did quite well in pronouncing english. I am not a native english speaker, but if i can give junsu and jaejoong some advice, i would suggest them to sing a lot of english language songs in order to practise the pronounciation. At least that was my way to improve my english back then in my high school time. Anysong, but the oldiest song help much better, just like the songs from ‘the beatless’, ‘queen’, etc. Jason mraz, or Mariah Carey are also my recomendation. I believe they can do it. Many asian singer can execute english well, just as Cristian Bautista, Siti Nurhaliza, even many singers from Indonesia produce english language songs. I usually sing in my shower time, i wonder do jyj like to sing while showering as well? Haha.
They should learn how to pronounce the lyrics “properly” before they do any recordings. The way I see it their live versions were sounded better because they’d had time to learn the english lyrics. They shouldn’t rush this one at all. I have faith in them. JYJ 2nd English album, fighting!!!!
And this time they need better dancing chorographers. We need a WOW chorography for at least one of the songs.
Have you not watched the choreography in ‘Mission’? I don’t know about you, but that would definitely quality as WOW. Not to mention the dance routine in ‘Get Out’. Not every song requires WOW moves, but I guess it’s all subjective in the end. Peace.
Ah. So another ‘worldwide’ album then, hopefully it won’t be half-assed. And I know kanye is not everyone’s cup of tea, but seriously the man is a genius when he wants to be. So on jyj’s part I hope they work with producers who understands them.
Meanwhile I’m going to sit in my corner waiting for my one or two japanese songs. Yes I’m probably asking a wee bit too much lol but hey worldwide album does not equate to english language songs /hopes for miracles. Probably won’t happen though =(
With ‘The beginning’ album, I really like Empty, Be The One. At first, I didn’t like Ayyy Girl and Be My Girl, but when I try to listen to it more often, I started to like them too! It seems like with the album ‘In heaven’, we usually like In heaven and Get out much, but if we try with The boy’s letter, we can feel it more in every time… It is a happiness when I can feel jyj’s soul in all of songs with different music styles… Jyj try hard to tell us how they feel by many ways… Now I can love many of their songs because I understand that it’s their style. It is not very special, but with me, it is really touching…

okay, I hope the promised “powerful song” this time will be indeed powerful, in terms of both melody and choreography, because I still cringe and skip the rap part of Ayyy Girl every time I listen to the song even now. The Beginning was good, considering it was the boys’ first experiment with English songs, so I expect the second worldwide album will be even better. Even though it’s my personal favorite when JYJ sing in Japanese, I welcome the next album with open arms, be it in whatever language of their choice. 🙂
The Beginning was fine, but I hope the 2nd Worldwide album will be much better. I hope at least, they will study the lyrics before jump into recording studio. I sincerely hope the trio will be better in English because I know the boys could do it 😀
For Kanye West, well I’m not big fans of him. I don’t really like Ayy Girl..maybe because the MV, but I know when JYJ sing in live it’ll be much better than studio version. I like Malik Yusef and Rodney.

As far as the language argument goes, I am a speaker of other languages, and I know how hard it is to master a different language, especially when your native tongue does not have certain sounds, so unless any of us start composing, writing, recording, and promoting an album in other language, maybe we could, I don’t know chill a little. Just saying.
Besides, I come across people whose English is their native tongue, and I swear there are times, I can’t understand what they say. Again, just saying.
Of course, the boys are working hard at everything they do, it’s just sometimes there is not enough time in a day to absorb everything. They are already fluent in a second language. Peace and chocolate!

I think, really, most of us are in no position to demand that the boys speak perfect English. (Let’s learn Korean first then. 😛 )
I know if they can do it, it’ll be really good but as long as they are “ok” , I really don’t mind.
I see your point of view. But, I am just thinking of all those idols who are criticized for debuting in Japanese when they can’t even pronounce the words right and I feel the same argument applies to English as well. eg. SNSD did a bad job in pronouncing the Boys in both Japanese and English. I KNOW the guys can do it with practice! We all saw how their English improved with each concert. I am not saying they should become fluent speakers…but they should try their best to mimic the sound of English speakers if only for their own songs. If I change the argument….I hope they spend more time practicing the pronunciation of the songs instead of going to immediately record them. It will take a little bit longer but the quality of the song will be better.

We are so on the same wave-length. As an American with English as my native tongue, I don’t expect others to speak with the same proficiency. And I too sometimes get a headache trying to decipher some of the songs by some hip hop/rap artists. I know it’s a generational thing. But my tolerance level is high for people from a foreign language perspective.
I’ve mentioned before, please DO NOT go by the racist comments and actions of the knuckledraggers in American society, no matter what their stripe. Not all Americans are uneducated. There are plenty of folks in this country who appreciate foreign culture. This is a country of 300M+ people. There are enough to go around. Besides, America is becoming more diverse as we speak. So, the barriers are going to come down as time goes on.
I have confidence in the guys learning what they have to learn to reach the pinnacle here, and by extension those countries that use English as a common means of communication. They are still young. I notice each and every effort they make moves them a step farther.
I don’t expect single leaps of a tall building every time they do something. For me, the amount of charm that oozes out of their pores is enough to weaken the resistence of a whole lot of folks. With the proper promotion, there is nothing JYJ cannot accomplish.

I thought I’m just too dumb and because I’m not an English speaker and I’m just shy to admit, but honestly I also have a hard time understanding some of the lyrics/raps of some English speakers English songs, glad I have a company!

They couldn’t even hold a charity concert in Japan w/o being blocked. I doubt the likelihood of a Japanese album anytime soon. 😦
Yeah I am so happy to hear this news!!!!! I really loved his rap part on “Ayyy Girl”. Actually I really loved the “Ayyy Girl” song. I especially loved it when they sang it live. I feel the song had this cool and hip vibe to it. I might be in the minority because I loved the majority of all the songs on The Beginning and In Heaven album. There was one song I did not like that much and it was “Fallen Leaves” from the In Heaven album. I did not hate it but I did not like it that much. The one that I thought was ok on the Beginning album was “Still In Love”, Jae solo song. I even did not like it that much when he sang it live. Those two song really did not do anything for me. Besides these two songs I loved every one of the other songs. I also, really loved the choregraphy they did live. I do feel there is always room for any artist to grow and do better rather that be in the songs they put out or the choregraphy they do. I was fine with the end results of how they pronounced the english words. But I do feel that Jae and Junsu do need to learn to speak it better because it would make them more marketable. If they put out something just as awsome as these two albums I will be happy!! If they put out something even better I will be super happy!!! I just cannot wait to hear the new songs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I feel that they are MUCH better with their English now (I saw the YouTube videos of the live concerts, and the farther along the year went, the better the songs sounded…even Ayyy Girl, which wasn’t my favorite simply because I’m not a big Kanye fan) and they will have time to write better songs with Kanye…I know I said I didn’t care for Kanye much but I KNOW he can make awesome collaboration songs (All of the Lights, anyone?)…I think they’ll have more words they can work with now that they speak English better and can work on vocals more instead of pronunciation. Can’t wait!
