Park Yoochun who will appear as the Crown Prince in SBS Wed-Thurs drama “Rooftop Prince” said that he “will show a natural acting,” and conveyed his determination to be different.
“Rooftop Prince” is a fantasy rom-com about a crown prince of Joseon Dynasty period who loses his wife and travels beyond 300-year time to the 21st century along with his liegemen. There, he starts a love that he couldn’t have in his previous life.
After historical drama “Sungkyunkwan Scandal” and modern drama “Miss Ripley,” Park Yoochun challenges a new genre of drama. He said, “Acting in a comedy is a burden for me but I will try to show a natural acting that can make you laugh comfortably.”
“Rooftop Prince” is written by screenwriter Lee Hee-myung who has also wrote some mega-hit dramas such as “Mr. Q” (1998), “Tomato” (1999) and “Success Story of a Bright Girl” (2002), which attract much anticipation. Park Yoochun confessed, “The script is really interesting. I read all 3 parts of the script in the early morning and all my sleepiness disappeared. The storyline is interesting but on the other hand, it’s burdened to be able to capture the subtle requisites of the character.” He said, “It’s not a spoiled character but it’s hard to interpret as much as it’s a spoiled character. In the first part, I must bring into relief the pain of losing wife. Then, when he comes to modern world, I will try my best to show the difference of his crumbled image.”
He also revealed his feelings about the recent hot topic about his shooting at Euljiro. He said, “At first, when I got off the car wearing traditional royal robe, I felt extremely embarrassed. But if I had really been brought to Myungdong from Joseon Dynasty period, I would have acted even more insanely. With that thought, I tried to concentrate on acting. After that I didn’t feel embarrassed any more.”
Park Yoochun will appear in this drama along with Han Ji Min and Lee Tae Sung. He said, “We didn’t have an official meeting, before going straight into shooting. At the beginning, it was a little awkward but we’re trying our best to ged rid of this awkwardness.”

You’ll do great Chunnie! Awkwardness can be funny.
Yoochun-ah you make me so proud!! Yoochun fighting! ^^
Chun, just put your Chunface to use and you’ll be able to capture both characters without a hitch. You’re Chun!Face! for a reason you know.
Agree!! Don’t push your self too much, your chunface are great already kekeke…
Youchun is naturally funny!
He just has to bring those same elements he has when he is trolling Junsu or tap in to his quirky randomness like the “orange slushy” moments he has with JJ and Junsu.
If the can convey that in the modern day character that will be fantastic. 🙂
He already knows this as he said he wants to “ show a natural acting,”
So I’m sure he will do well.
you did so well expressing subtle emotions in skks you will do well here too. you have a natural comedy way about you which is really endearing to others. just act like you are with your buddies j and j and you will do awesomely! i predict some more fans coming from working with these guys!

JYJ is such a committed group 🙂 They dont have to be there but they still did despite their busy schedule. I hope the fans really appreciate it especially when we know uri Chun is so busy filming and Junsu with his Elizabeth and Jae with his Jin and on top of that they are preparing for Chile and Peru.

It’s true to make ppl laugh is not an easy task, furthermore you have to act in a drama, bringing out character to live is more burden, even so YC we have no doubt in your ability to do well in RP, coz u’re a genious 🙂
typo its “genius”
oh darling-you’re funny…I know acting in a rom-comedy is going to be hard but I have faith in you so don’t sweat it ok~
I cannot wait to see this drama!!!!!!!!!!!!! I know he will be awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
did this boy get it nature already? ^^
you can do it! all the best ! hwaiting !
I think Yoochun is doing well from whatever little we saw of RTP. Seeing the video with HJM where they both acted so naturally, I thought he had improved a lot. He must not have had much time to interact with HJM, yet it looked like they were already lovers in that video. I think that is because Chun has learnt how to create chemistry with his co-stars. With PMY, he was more comfortable and that showed in his acting while with LDH, the chemistry wasn’t as much there partly due to the character as well. A good actor should be able to create chemistry with all his co-stars regardless of their offscreen equation and I think Yoochun is getting there. If he can create this much chemistry with HJM even in the early stages of filming, then it is also a proof of how much he has evolved as an actor. PYC fighting!
