Petition to demand for JYJ to have freedom in Japanese activities
Organizer: Japan Fancafe JYJ Their Rooms
Submitted to: Tokyo District Court
Start Date: 09/02/2012
JYJ is currently in a trial against Avex regarding their contract.
Even though they are foreigners, the reason for this litigation is because of the large number of fans who are waiting for the restart of their Japanese activities.
We, JYJ’s Japanese fans, had been thinking of ways to support them who are currently engaged in the trial and had decided to submit the petition to the court.
JYJ who couldn’t escape the constraint from Avex, even a day faster, we would like to send our voice to the court and also JYJ of our wish for them to be able to restart their activities in Japan again. The petition and the signature shall be submitted to the court through C-Jes’ representative attorney. We planned to submit the petition on next trial fixed date, so we planned to finish this before the planned end date (only real name, nicknames are unjustifiable).
Signature project details
Petition to demand for JYJ to have freedom in Japanese activities.
1- On September 16th 2010, Avex suddenly announced JYJ’s hiatus in Japanese activities, thus taking away the possibility of JYJ’s Japanese activities and the fans chance to listen to JYJ’s singing.
2- Furthermore, for Avex, in regards of the activity hiatus, had recognized the hiatus as a one-sided fact and using this as the reason, explained it to the media and HP through claims, spreading it via twitter of their staff etc, hence profoundly hurting JYJ and C-Jes status in Japan.
3- Despite after the announcement of JYJ’s hiatus, Avex continued selling JYJ’s CD and DVD without JYJ’s consent. They also work together with Oricon in not including the total sale of both items on the Oricon ranking. Fans wanted to support the artist and JYJ’s product by putting them on the ranking, but both companies had merely scheme the conduct as a way to gain profit for their own benefit, thus making the fans to lose their faith in the companies.
4- JYJ’s June 2011’s charity event (Tokyo) and November’s concert (Ibaraki), Avex turn a deft ear to many fan’s wish and continue putting pressure on the venue and related person in charge in order to cause the activities to be suspended.
5- And then JYJ, who had even now been suspended in activities since a year and a half, due to Avex influence in Japan’s entertainment industry, could not have freedom in doing Japanese activities.
We cannot condone anymore of Avex’s continuous persistent disturbance on JYJ’s activities, and as consumers, this actions had caused a large mental anguish. We could deduce from this kind of inconsistency in Avex’s speech and conduct, the company’s objective of publication is not the reason for JYJ’s hiatus in activities, but their goal is to bind JYJ by the contract without any action (to solve the problem) but, nothing more than to deprive them in Japan’s entertainment world.
In addition, South Koreahas enlistment system in which around 2 years, they would have to undergo their military duties and will not be able to have their artist activities. Since the three members of JYJ are in middle of the twenties, it won’t be weird if they are enlisted. Taking in the consideration that for South Korean’s young male artist, the activities up until their military enlistment influence the importance of their lifetime, we seek for immediate solution to solve this problem.
Apart from South Korea and Japan, JYJ has fans from all parts of the world. Their worldwide fans naturally defends JYJ to have their (JYJ) human right respected, thus they also wished for JYJ to have freedom in doing their activities, thus the fans are paying close attention of this trial in Japan. For the judgment, we humbly request to please naturally respect the freedom in the artist’s activities and human right, and to also consider each and every fan’s feeling who loves the artist.
We, JYJ’s Japanese fans wished from the bottom of our heart for the court’s sense of justice of a prompt judgment for the liberty of JYJ from Avex and South Korea’s SM Ent unfair disturbance and the freedom of JYJ’s Japanese activities.

any translation or step for this petition? really want to join this petition..
I ever join petition like this before.. but i’m not sure from JYJ3 or theJYJfiles
if you use google chrome browser, you can pick “translate this page” and then it’s pretty straight forward to do the petition. You will need to put in your real name though, and your address might be required as well, I am not certain but I did enter mine when I did it.
I use IE .. should i change to chrome ^^. Ican’t find soft file from the last petition (step to join the petition)
I think .. i’ll gave up for this one 😦
From the tweets, this petition is only for japanese JYJ fans. They asked several times international fandom to understand and respect it ^^ 🙂 This petition will be presented in the next court hearing, so naturally all data will/could be inspected. 🙂
The petition does say for international fans to enter 000 0000 for the postcode, so that suggests that it is open to i-fans.
“Avex continued selling JYJ’s CD and DVD without JYJ’s consent” seriously avex you don’t deserve the profit you earned after selling there hard work.

Hey JYJ Here in Japan we still waiting for you. Don’t forget u! Wanna back again 我々は永遠に待機することになります。は関係ありませんか!
cool do you live in japan?
Yes i’m from Japan yayyy
I wish/hope they address the constant misinformation being spread by Avex in Japan about JYJ and C-JeS, and clarify the status of JYJ’s contact obligations with Avex (as JYJ). Fans say a million different things about whether JYJ’s contract with Avex is over, or whether Avex is trying to enforce JYJ’s old TVXQ contract or what. I’m curious about the correct information.
JYJ hold many activities exclusively for Japanese that occur in Korea, not even open to residents of Korea. Events in Korea usually require residents to buy merchandise (sometimes a lot of it!) just for a CHANCE to attend, and they have no plans to have a concert in Korea. While I really want them to have freedom in Japan (and for the slander and uber-high level of OT5ism there to stop) I’m afraid if they do they’ll hardly ever spend any time anywhere else, including Korea, even if cockblocking in Korea stops. T_T
I personally think that even if Japan would be open for them once more, they would still spend at least half a year in Korea. I think they now truly understand what a determined, loyal and united fandom as they have in Korea means for them. Korean fans have kept them “alive” during their worst moments and they will not forget. I am sure.
But it would be really helpful if they could have concerts in Korea. And even if they wont find a venue, they could have some guerrila performances or so…
Well…I will try to share your optimism. Some of my experiences here don’t favor that conclusion, but I will try to be optimistic.
Ok. Try to look on Junsu and musicals and Yoochun and drama. It looks like both enjoy this very much and plan to pursue it seriously, because there lies a long-time future career, unlike their carees as pop idols. Both of them started to make a name in those areas, but only in Korea. It is unlikely they would make such an impact in Japan, especially with their imperfect language skills and idol stigma.
Honestly, I can see only JJ to be the one, who would wilingly stay long time/years in Japan, somehow I feel he is the most attached to that land, he even bought an apartment there, and as I see it he still somehow hasn´t found a big dream for himself. He miss his fame he had in Japan, in Korea he was average, but in Japan he was the biggest star among the old OT5.
I don’t think you can put those kinds of words into Jaejoong’s mouth, figuratively. I think it’s a leap to say any of us knows how he feels. But okay.
Anyway, regardless, my feelings are unchanged. It’s a common fear in Korea. ^_^
It is ofcourse only my personal opinion, I don´t see into his head.
I think I ´ve read an article recently that generaly korean fans of many groups are dissapointed that their bias groups spend too much time overseas (mainly Japan) and stopped korean tours alltogether, with maybe a concert in Soul, if anything. I would feel the same beeing in their skin.
Yeah, and sadly it’s not their fault. Japanese are simply incredibly wealthy and tend to demand exclusivity and special “only for Japanese” merchandise & events, and Korean businesses, including C-JeS, cater to them. It’s actually pretty sick and painful to watch. T_T
Given what happened with ticket sales at the Busan & Gwangju JYJ concerts, I’m surprised more i-fans aren’t worried about this.
Uh, what happened with ticket sales for those 2 concerts? I was not a fan at that time so i don´t know.
@ruber In Korea, Interpark has two websites: one for Korean residents and one for everyone else in the world (which is in English). For banking reasons, they have to be processed differently. Anyway, in the past, JYJ used both sites for its events, which allowed anyone in the world who had some type of credit or debit card to buy tickets. However, Japanese refuse to used non-Japanese websites (despite having English taught in all schools from 1st grade on), so they usually bought their tickets from third-party sellers and travel agencies, sometimes as part of a package, and as a result sometimes get ripped off by unscrupulous jerks. Instead of just using the international site like everyone else in the world, they complained to C-JeS.
So for the Busan and Gwangju concerts, even after announcing the show in English, C-JeS set aside most of the best seats (VVIP) for a designated Japanese third-party seller, and made that seller the official sales outlet for “international fans.” Of course the site was only in Japanese and only sold to residents of Japan. C-JeS sold the rest of the tickets through Interpark’s Korean-only site to residents of Korea; they did NOT use Interpark’s international site at all, because Japanese demanded Japan be the international site. This meant no one outside of Korea or Japan could buy tickets at all.
Japanese ticketers do not sell to anyone outside of Japan, in most situations. So any events there would be closed off to everyone else, even though everyone else allows Japanese to attend.
(Because the Gwangju show did not sell out, some international fans flew to Korea, hoping they could buy a ticket at the door (luckily they could! ^^). Just mentioning that in case you heard of i-fans at that show.)
I don’t know what’s the common fear of Korean fans..but I think I can understand. I want and wish with all my heart for them to have freedom in doing their activities in Japan and SK, but the situation is really hard for them right now. There were lot of programs/events that had been held exclusively for Japanese fans in Seoul-but you have to remember, most of them are under the labels they were promoting, be it NII, Lotte etc. In a way, it’s a marketing tactic by their endorsers and they would do it because they could hardly do anything in Japan or anything for their Japanese fans.
We don’t know what they feel inside- so I won’t say who feels the most comfortable in Japan etc but I think despite saying so…I really do hope they’ll be able to do what they wants to do while they can.
NII weren’t Japanese events, they were ‘buy a lot of merchandise for a chance to attend’ events. Same with the record store fansignings. Point is they weren’t regular events that everyone could (try to) buy tickets to. Not the same as a concert or something. And I’m pretty well aware of what Lotte is doing; JYJ aren’t the only artists doing it (Big Bang and KHJ have done them too, IIRC). They are tourist packages put together by Lotte from Japan to make Lotte (one of the biggest companies in Korea) money. Has nothing to do with JYJ being blocked in Japan, it’s a Lotte thing. But again, point is it was not available for residents of Korea or any other country. No such Lotte packages can be bought by anyone else, only Japanese.
Even now, there are as many events for Japanese in Korea as there are open to everyone in Korea. And the ones for Koreans aren’t available for everyone to purchase – you have to win a contest to attend. If JYJ are free to be active in both Korea and Japan, the thinking is (mine included) they will do much much more in Japan than they do within Korea, AND will continue to have Japanese-only events in Korea.
I feel sad whenever I read about Japanese fans,They love JYJ deeply,Japan is stage of JYJ,we know JYJ show more artistic color when they sing Japanese song & japanese fan always carefully listen to JYJ. JYJ need to go back to Japan.
J fans,I wish JYJ can go back to japan & do activities there, one day I want to watch JYJ concert in Japan with u guys.
