JYJ put on its first South American show ever on Friday in Chile, before taking their show to Peru on Sunday. The continent was the final destination of the band’s world tour which kicked off in April of last year.
More than 3,000 fans from all over South America, as well as from Spain and Europe, attended the Chile concert. Many had camped out days earlier in order to get the best view of the Korean boy band onstage.
In a manner that befits the continent’s people’s Latin passion, the crowd began chanting “My precious darlings” one hour before the performance kicked off.
Group leader Kim Jae-joong said that he was surprised at the large number of male fans in the audience.
In addition, many fans held up Korean signs such as “We Are With You” and “Jae-joong, I Love You.”
Throughout the concert, the fans sang along with the band in Korean, many shedding tears of joy. Three fans passed out from sheer excitement.
“I’ve waited seven years for this. I’m so happy,” one female fan told Yonhap News after the concert, while another fan said they had waited in line for four days before the event to get the best seat.
Meanwhile, the K-pop act expressed its thanks for its fans’ support, saying, “We are so happy because of you. We have been receiving all the YouTube clips you’ve sent us on our birthdays.”

I’m gonna say that it’s by virtue of his advanced age (LOL) and his general air and he’s basically the spokesperson and all anyway these days rather than “confirmed” or “official”
I like it like that anyway. Titles and ranks and stuff like that are overrated 😀
yeah I think because he is the oldest among the 3, so it’s like naturally he will be the spokesperson and lead the two.

i saw a video of the press conference when it ended and the boys were walking into the hall right , if u notice Jaejoong and yoosu u’d notice Jaejoong walk like he is the boss which he is , a professional adult while yoosu , kekeke like kids talking to each other maybe Yoochun more reserved but he paid attention to hyper baby Junsu . i will try to find the vid.

by virtue of being hyung.. he is the desginated leader.. even Yoochun says so during the Lotte fanmeet..
And me personally.. i acknowledge it.. Jae has been living up to that responsibility for quite a long time..

I’m just going to add my approval on that as well.
Jaejoong has stepped up and gone beyond the task of handling the leadership duties of the group so it is a well-deserved title to bestow on him.
My understanding as to why he was not appointed “leader” of TVXQ5 was that SM considered him a bit of a loose cannon in that he tends to say what is on his mind… and in his heart.
No offense to Yunho but I think they felt his personality was better suited for being the company spokesman.
Jaejoong actually was offered to be the leader but he didn’t want to, at the end YunHo was the only one who stepped out to take the position.
Don’t take anything you read from a newspaper article as being an official announcement. The newspapers know less than fans do, so as a fan, you can usually pick out a few items that are wrong in the article.
I don’t think JYJ operates with a leader/follower relationship. In the Come On Over series, you can see each of them giving direction to the crew in their performances. They work in a collaborative way. That is very obvious in the sound of their music as well. The group name, JYJ, kind of explains the relationship.
Jaejoong is eldest and in that sense is the leader, but not in an official leadership capacity. Anyway, that’s how I see it. All 3 of them are too talented and experienced in what they do for anyone the be the leader.

Ya~a only JYJpop. I don’t care about others. I only listen songs from JYJ. I’ve been listening to JYJ songs everyday without fail for the past one year.
And AGAIN The media in SK proves they just can’t get it right…

So you mean to tell me that Korea Joongang Daily, with what can only be 100s of photos they could have sourced for the two
concerts in Chile and Peru they could not find ONE correct photo from the actual concert to use for this article?? 😦
