Kim Junsu’s popularity is hot even in musical’s world.
Live performance OST for the musical ‘Elisabeth’ was released on March 31. On March 20, after the release of 5 songs (Kim Sunyoung’s ‘I belong to me’, Ock Joohyun’s Nothing at all’, Kim Suyong’s ‘Milk’, Choi Minchul’s ‘Kitsch’ and Park Euntae’s ‘Milk’) on many music sites, 4000 copies were pre-ordered.
Kim Junsu was excluded in this Korean OST. Even though Kim Junsu is taking the role of ‘Death’ in the musical ‘Elisabeth’, only songs by Kim Sunyoung, Ryu Junghan, Ock Joohyun, Song Changeui, Park Euntae and Jeon Songsuk were included in the OST.
A representative of ‘Elisabeth’ said “Kim Junsu didn’t participate in this album but an exclusive OST for many domestic and international fans of Kim Junsu is in discussions.
Musical ‘Elisabeth’ is a beautiful story of love between a member of Autrian Hapsburgs imperial family – Queen ‘Elisabeth’, and a fantasy character ‘Death’.

Perhaps they think that fans will buy both albums, thus increasing their profits 100%. I also think Junsu’s terms will be better than those of the rest of the musical actors’. I would imagine pretty much everything about his deal will be better, for more money, etc.

I was reserving my judgment a bit with the whole situation when I first heard about it. Because I acknowledge the fact that I don’t know everything. Maybe Junsu couldn’t make it to the recording for the OST (as he was busy with his touring and what not). Maybe it was completely his decision. Maybe.
The statement about the Elisabeth OST not being for “Junsu fans only”…really rubbed me the wrong way. Completely unnecessary to state and in all honestly, perhaps because I’m a Junsu fan, rude.
First of all, if Junsu was on that OST along with the other members.. who is EMK to control who buys the freakin’ thing? Let’s be realistic, yes, if Junsu was on that OST of course his fans would be more inclined to buy it. (And I’m sorry but, doesn’t that just mean MORE money for them? Lmfao.)
But how does Junsu being on that OST effect whether or not say..fans of Ok Joo Hyun or Song Chang-ui buy that cd? Exactly. It doesn’t.
If there are fans out there of them and they have the money and the desire..they will buy the OST. Simple as that.
Same for Junsu fans.

EMK’s statement just makes the original OST without Junsu seem to be some poorly-disguised effort to gage Elisabeth’s success without him.
((Now yeah, I’m a Junsu fan and I guess I’m Junsu biased and whatnot but he’s not all I see and I make it a point that he never is. Just because I think Junsu’s great and wonderful and the loveliest thing in existence all and I’m sure he’s killing that role like I don’t know what, I wouldn’t be so inconsiderate as to accredit Elisabeth’s success to him alone. I respect every single cast member that has and continues to put their time into that play (especially considering the fact that most of them have been in that business far longer than Junsu) and I wouldn’t for a second doubt that they’re bringing just as much magic to the stage as he is. However, I also think it’s impossible to overlook the obvious fact that Kim Junsu is indeed racking in a considerable amount of the sales =)))
The thing that really bothers me about his exclusion from the first OST and now the possibility of him having his own (and I admit it’s probably just me worrying over him and his image too much) but..
I just don’t like this feeling like special treatment you know? Like can’t he just be treated like a musical actor for once and not JYJ (DBSK)’s Kim Junsu? Why must his “idol” status always be pushed to the forefront?
You know just as much as I do that it’s a label Junsu is working so hard to dispel. And I believe he has. He’s proven his calibre for high-performance right there on the musical stage—not once but thrice. So why hasn’t he been accepted yet?
When he takes on a musical, he becomes a part of that cast. And he should be treated as such. He rehearses with them. He performs with them. He should be able to record an OST with them.
Why does he have to have his own OST when all it really does is, once again, bring attention to the fact that he’s an “idol” by catering to us fans. Completely setting him apart (and seemingly above) from all the other cast members who have put in the equal amount of sweat.
And even more, how does this make him look in their eyes? (This is something I’ve been considering more deeply since Pierrot mentioned a few posts back that there seemed to be a lot of hard feelings from some cast members towards Junsu during the Mozart days :/)
It just bothers me and for some reason I can imagine it bothering him too. We all know how humble he is. He knows his place. Knows he’s still fairly new to the game. He doesn’t go on stage thinking himself above the rest simply because he’s JYJ’s Kim Junsu. He takes on the stage with the mere desire to present the image of Kim Junsu alone. Unfortunately, he has all these labels tagged to him that seem to bring with them all these preconceived ideas, automatically discrediting anything he puts forward and achieves. And so he makes it even more of a point to show his sincerity so that everyone is forced to look past that until they see only him. Yeah. He’s working so hard..
But..This whole stigma with the term “idol”, especially in regards to musicals..
Will never fade, especially when you have powers like EMK that seem to always make it an issue.

But I don’t let it bother me because even if that’s all they see to his worth—we know more than anyone that there’s so much more Junsu has and does offer. He’s an undeniable talent. Maybe he’s not a perfect actor or vocalist of the “musical” style or whatever but find me someone as emotionally invested, who brings as much conviction to the stage, to every single thing they do as he does. It’s an impossibility that they can’t see this, that ANYONE can’t see this, so if they simply refuse to acknowledge it that’s fine. Because there’s a lot more who do and always will. That is all~)

don’t be upset , knowing something is one thing , i know what u mean , but Junsu he said in an interview when he came to the musical scene he wanted to change the prejudice against idols acting in musicals . it gives us an understanding he was full aware of some disturbing realities towards himself , yet Junsu he always smiles bright and gave his best. the thing is his mentality , not only Junsu , i had noticed JYJ despite the sever negative situations , they indulge in thinking about the Opened Joyful opportunities rather than sulk at the Closed Joyful opportunities , yes being with the cast is joyful but it was a closed opportunity for Junsu , yet i believe Junsu is indulged in the opened offered opportunity instead. i don’t belive he dwells on the un-offered opportunities and get his mood down. it isn’t different from before when he first came to Mozart rehearsals , he ignored the ones who tried to put down his mood and him down, he may know , the way he is used for making money, and he is not treated as the other musical actors and actresses , yet he has this power to overlook everything bad, to look at something better, as a result he is always this cheerful energetic in good mood Junsu instead of down and depressed. he always comes this warm smiling face this happy kind Junsu his heart is not burning or outraged because if he was his angry mood would be evident in his face and behavior, instead he is always eager to impress us, he isn’t thinking about the disturbing ones. so cheer up kid Junsu is indulging in the OST special to be in a good mood with u. i get angry for him because i can afford a burning heart , my heart has been burning for years for things i have seen and experienced and of course i burn for JYJ ‘ especially my susu baby : P ‘, i am not sure it is healthy i sure don’t encourage it nor want my kid to be like that, but i live in fire so i know how to walk around the fire, i feel bad for u though and some girls too if they read my comments and get worried , i did not think before hand ‘ i tend talk before i think : P ‘ but i did not mean to get u and others upset and worried over Junsu with this issue. i do believe JYJ do not put themselves down by thinking at what is not opened and rather indulge themselves in full devotion to what is opened . so cheer up they are Men they can handle stuff like this, i’m not man but i too am an adult and know how to handle my own as well, i am not as childish as i might seem to be.

Yoochun too , even though he played a rich dude before he doesn’t go , oh a rich dude again i already know how to portray a rich dude , no he goes showing us this new or rather different person and not a rich dude, his character is always alive and not repeated persona . and Junsu , when its Junsu i always have difficulty to describe , but u get me , i mean Tod who is Junsu ? and when he went should i put my hair up or down ? such a minor thing to us is an important thing to him , he goes by such length to contemplate how it will effect us, trying to impress us the best way possible, the three have this mentality to think highly about what they are going to show us. thats respect towards ur fans and audience , thats real respect and to our minds as well.

Jaejoong, Micky, Junsu..it's so amazing how much they've grown. Looking at the men they've come to be..
I can't tell you how impressed I've been by their words time and time again. When I read interviews and see them say things like "Sadness is a blessing"..my my my..
Their state of mind is just beautiful. Inspiring. All the hardships they've faced for so long..and somehow they choose to take it all in stride.
These last few years have humbled them beyond belief, and that's the beauty of it—they’ve allowed them to. Anyone could have let the type of things they’ve gone through harden their hearts, beat them down and leave them bitter. Destroy their spirit, you know? Their happiness..
But these three have an amazing capacity to see and, even more, expect beyond what they may be facing at the moment…To take any difficulty as nothing more than an opportunity to build them up and place them further than wherever they may currently be standing. And so now that they’ve been through the worst..they tackle life with a certainty that’s so evident. In their words, in the way they carry themselves, conduct their careers. I see three men of integrity who live their lives accordingly, always thankful for all that they DO have and because of that, will always be blessed.
Sometimes I just have to pray, Lord, don't let this year be so hard for them. Continue to humble their hearts, but please, do it with a gentle hand.
And I know they’ll be okay because of who they are. They’re good people. They always strive to be good people. The Lord will always look with favor on that.
And it’s that fact that I oftentimes need to remind myself of when I begin to let little issues (that are completely out of my control) like Junsu’s treatment in the musical realm worry me.

Both your replies are always quite insightful (and I admire your writing~) and it’s reaaally obvious that you’re a big fan of Junsu so that always puts a smile on my face so yeah~I give you two the best Xiahpwas awards! lol
((Ahh..I’m actually kinda just butting my way back onto here at JYJ3 …I was here for just a little while but allowed some silly disagreements here during some of the rougher patches with the boys to steer me away..but I really missed the place. Couldn’t really stay away haha..Wasn’t sure if I should start leaving comments again or just lurk but..sometimes I just really wanna respond to some of the great things other peeps are saying. Ahh..

After so much back and forth on the issue finally emk announced special ost by junsu for junsu’s fans! hmm, that time when emk produced the ost without junsu..my heart felt sad and anger!! and i’m still am so i don’t have think i want to support emk even this is a special junsu’s ost of ‘elizabeth’! if emk sincerely wants junsu in their ost, they will include him at the first place!! and i definitely will buy it even if he only sings one song! *just saying*
I’m going to look upon this issue as ‘the glass is half full’ rather than half empty. C-JeS invested in the production to start off with, and Junsu took a profit salary instead of a negotiated salary for his participation. I’m going to go under the assumption that this was planned all along.
EMK knew straight up from the beginning having JS involved would make the world of difference for this production. I believe they made a serious PR error with the announcement. A bit of patience and a much more careful press release would have prevented all this drama.
I personally don’t mind Junsu having a separate OST. The reason being, yes he is PART of the cast, but he is also the driving force behind the financial success of the production. All those reporters and photogs are the press rehersal were not there for the cast minus JS. Junsu has proven time and time again, he knows how to fit in with his felllow cast members. That’s why the musicality of the show works.
But in this cutthroat world JYJ finds themselves in, one has to take advantages where one can. Junsu having his own OST and having it released with his name on it, will cause it to place on the charts with some recognition. This factor alone cannot be ignored. Seeing Junsu’s OST move up the charts will be another indication to the ‘other’ side, the members of JYJ are not going anywhere. They are here to stay.
I’m personally hoping for another dvd to buy, because I loved the first one! 🙂

yup he shines despite , like JYJ ‘ i love these three JYJ , love how they still play nice and nicely they aren’t stupid but no where near cutthroat either , actually if JYJ were nasty i assure u they wouldn’t be finding themselves all these hurdles at least be hypocritical and they could still climb with easy pass in matter of fact they be using an elevator not a ladder to reach the top, they aren’t pushing anyone as they climb while some others try to push them, some weren’t trying to push them in the beginning but got paranoid along the way and started to push too cause they worried they’d pass them. and JYJ aren’t the type to step on someone’s hand trying to pull them by their ankle down , they are that straight, instead they concentrate on climbing best they could and they don’t hold grudges inside towards those who tried pulling them down. brave brave honest men , sweet good boys JYJ @u@ i feel so proud of them .
