[NEWS] 120530 Park Yoochun Overcome Grief to Shine in Acting
The passionate performance by Park Yoochun who overcome pain shines until the end of the drama.
SBS Wednesday and Thursday drama series “Rooftop Prince” concluded on the evening of May 24th, 2012 with a touching ending of the love of “Gak-Ha lover” Lee Gak (Park Yoochun) and Park Ha (Han Ji Min) that spans beyond 300 years.
The image of majestic Crown Prince in Joseon Dynasty, somewhat absurd but pleasant adaptation period in modern times, and the love with Park Ha which is sometimes funny and sometimes touching yet saddening, Park Yoochun is using a variety of acting skills to lead the pulse of the whole story, showing a more mature acting.
Park Yoochun played the role of Crown Prince Lee Gak who time traveled together with his subjects to 21st century Seoul in “Rooftop Prince”. The love with lover Park Ha which cannot be fulfilled in the past life, is reunited in romance that spans beyond 300 years, touching the viewers.
This time the role of Lee Gak is the competition of the characters which used to play by Park Yoochun previously in the KBS 2TV “Sungkyunkwan Scandal” and MBC “Miss Ripley”, showing the many images of well loved Park Yoochun in multifaceted. The unique theme of time traveling, shuttling between the historical drama and modern drama, he perfectly interpreted the acts in two eras, bringing fresh impact and fun to the audience.
In particular, Park Yoochun met with unfortunate event of the death of his father right before the premiere of the drama, but he endured grief, and threw himself into the acting, making the role even more shining. Park Yoochun who returned to the drama earlier than production team’s expected said that he would not let the hardworking crew members, fans and viewers wait any longer.
During the shooting, Park Yoochun wrote, “Dad, miss you like crazy,” making the fans worried. Recently, he wrote, “The filming that remains few more days that longer than ever, yet pass faster than ever. ‘Rooftop Prince’, no matter it’s pain or joy, is a drama that made me strong,” expressing his feelings, showing more robust himself.
The busy schedule also led to a traffic accident. Park Yoochun experienced traffic accident while on the way to filming scene on the early morning of early May, and suffered pain in the neck and waist. But he did not get to the hospital in order to complete the shooting schedule, insisted on shooting, and once again making everyone marvel.
Experiencing pain and putting himself through the mill, yet still able to interpret the role so perfectly, the acting of Park Yoochun is making “Rooftop Prince” even more shining.

[NEWS] 120530 Rooftop Prince Debuts in Taiwan with Highest Ratings Among Recent Korean Dramas
The Taiwan GTV series “The Moon that Embraces the Sun” broadcasted its 20-minute grand finale at 10pm on May 28th, 2012, and achieved the average viewership rating of 1.8, successfully fight the way out in the highly competitive 10pm variety show slot.
After the end of “The Moon that Embraces the Sun”, the “Rooftop Prince” was aired as the follow-up drama. The first episode of “Rooftop Prince” was aired for 100 minutes, and achieved the average audience rating of 1.46, creating the highest debut ratings for Korean drama in recent years. Moreover, the ratings among female population aged between 45 to 54 years old even hit as high as 3.99, it seems that the “Rooftop Prince” is well loved by mothers.
“Rooftop Prince” is the trendy topic. Park Yoochun plays the role of Crown Prince in Joseon Dynasty, cocky and speak like a book. In order to investigate the cause of death of Crown Princess, the Crown Prince together with the loyal flower boy courtiers inexplicably travel through time to the modern era 300 years later. Facing with the impact of modern life, he also shows strange and frightening expression of embarrassment. The funny time-traveling plot, coupled with suspense, making the “Rooftop Prince” fairly popular.

Official Synopsis: A prince from the Chosun era, Yi Gak (JYJ‘s Yoochun), along with his entourage, which includes Song Man Bo (Lee Min Ho), Do Chi San (Choi Woo Shik) and Woo Young Sul (Jung Seok Won), are catapulted 300 years into the future. Ratings: The final week of broadcasts for all three dramas, MBC‘s ‘King 2 Hearts‘, SBS‘s ‘Rooftop Prince’, and KBS‘s ‘Equator Man‘ has wrapped up. On the last day of the broadcasts, ‘Equator Man’ (starring Uhm Tae Woong and Lee Joon Hyuk) was able to retain its first place position with a 14.3% rating, while ‘Rooftop Prince’ and ‘King 2 Hearts’ (starring Lee Seung Gi and Ha Ji Won) achieved similar ratings with a 12.8% and 12.1% rating, respectively. The tables turned on the final day of broadcasting after ‘Rooftop Prince’ captured the crown with a 14.8% rating, while ‘Equator Man’ followed closely behind with a 14.1%. ‘King 2 Hearts’ sadly dropped from its original first place position to last with a 11.8% rating. The broadcast of all three dramas had a lot of competition as positions switched almost weekly.
As all the dramas aired similar ratings, the following dramas are left at neither an advantage nor disadvantage. KBS will air ‘Bridal Mask‘, starring Joo Won and Jin Se Yun, a historical drama about the Japanese occupation of Korea. SBS will air ‘Phantom‘, starring So Ji Sub and Lee Yeon Hee, a cyber investigation drama, while MBC will air ‘I Do, I Do‘, starring Kim Sun Ah as a shoe designer who becomes pregnant after having a one night stand with her employee, played by Lee Jang Woo. [NEWS] 120530 Song Seung Hun, Kim Jae Joong and Lee Bum Soo Are the ′Dr. Jin′ Musketeers
MBC’s Time Slip Dr. Jin has only just begun airing but the cast members are showing they’ve already become quite close.
On May 29, Song Seung Hun posted on his me2day saying, “With reliable Bum Soo hyung and cool-guy Jae Joong.”
Included was a picture of the three actors in costume and on the set of their Time Slip Dr. Jin filming location. Song Seung Hun and Kim Jae Joong flanked each of Lee Bum Soo′s sides, while all three grinned with their thumbs up.
Song Seung Hun later posted, “We are the three ‘Dr. Jin’ musketeers!”

[NEWS] 120530 Veteran actor Kim Eung Soo shows affection for Kim Jaejoong
Kim Eung Soo revealed his affection for his junior colleague Kim Jaejoong.
The behind scenes filming of the medical drama ‘Time Slip Dr. Jin’ has been featured on the May 30th episode of MBC’s ‘Good Day’.
On a paper Kim Eung Soo was holding a sticker had been pasted which read, ‘We root for Kyung Tak(Kim Jaejoong’s character in the drama)’. The production team of ‘Good Day’ asked Kim Eung Soo, “Why did you paste that sticker?”, to which Kim Eung Soo answered, “Because he plays my son. He’s born of a concubine but he’s still my blood. So I have affection for Jaejoong.”
Kim Eung Soo added, “I saw him at the first filming and I realized we looked alike. It’s very strange. I never thought we resembled one another when I saw him as a singer, but I see him on the set we look alike. Even the directors say we look like real father and son. Jaejoong tells me I’m like his father. We are doing well with great chemistry.”

A picture of JYJ’s Yoo Chun in a deep sleep was recently released.
On May 30, Yoo Chun uploaded a picture on his Twitter account with the comment, “Tae Sung and Min Soo, I really had a great time with you. I was really in a deep sleep. Were we that close?”
In the picture, Yoo Chun doesn’t seem to know people are taking pictures around him because he is in a deep sleep. Two actors are on both sides of him, making funny looks. This picture is getting laughs as the two actors’ faces contrast from that of Yoo Chun.
