[NEWS] 120608 TVXQ to JYJ, K-pop to K-drama, Park Yu-chun does it all

K-pop stars come and go, with only a handful staying on the scene in the long run. Park Yu-chun, also known as Micky Yoochun, is among the rare few who emerged almost a decade ago and still causes traffic jams every time an appearance is announced.

The 26-year-old member of JYJ has made it in both the K-pop and K-drama markets and proved he is still among the hottest stars with the success of the recent SBS drama “Rooftop Prince.” He won his second straight Most Popular Actor in a TV Drama award at the 48th Baeksang Arts Awards earlier this year.

In the hit drama, Park plays a crown prince of the Joseon Dynasty, Lee Gak, who travels into the future to modern-day Seoul where he falls in love with Park Ha (Han Ji-min). Prince Lee, the only character who speaks in the Joseon-era style, is lost in and overwhelmed by the contemporary capital, yet his love for Park Ha is unwavering. The JYJ star said acting in such a farfetched storyline was a challenge, but nonfictional aspects made the task a bit easier.

[NEWS] 120607 XIA Tarantallegra MV (Dance Version) to be released on June 11th

After the release of his first formal solo album, XIA Junsu, who is currently busy with his album activities, is going to release the MV (DANCE VERSION) of the title track—TARANTALLEGRA.

C-Jes, Kim Junsu’s management company, said that, “The dance version is to introduce more of the album to overseas fans amid the Asia tour. The MV released previously has created a whole new style through magical, fantastic visual effect and Junsu’s homme fatale charm, while the new MV is going to concentrate on Junsu’s dance. Junsu’s extraordinary dance performance will be seen in this new music video.

The outcome is even more extraordinary considering that in the midst of fierce competition (with other weekend dramas), viewers not only continue to show extreme interest and expectations for the drama but good reviews continue to be written after each episode airs.

[NEWS] 120606 JYJ-“Entertainment/Music program Out-casts” Just exactly how long will they be excluded from being able to perform as artists?

The issue of JYJ being out-casted on air/broadcast programs has once again become a hot-button topic.

On June 4th’s broadcast of MBC “Come to Play,” child actress Kim Sohyun (who made an appearance on the program) took to her personal twitter and wrote “What is this? Why were the parts where I talked about Yoochun oppa edited out? I wanted to let everyone know about many interesting stories with Yoochun oppa. My birthday has ended bitterly.” On the 5th, Park Yoochun responded back via twitter, “Sohyun-ah thank you! Don’t be depressed, be strong Princess!”

In response to this controversy, the producers of “Come to Play” responded, “There were a lot of parts that exceeded the broadcast allotted time. Thus, there was nothing we could do but edit parts out.” It has already been 2 years since the members of JYJ started releasing albums under the group name JYJ. However, the situation is such that even until now they are unable to freely make an appearance on music/entertainment broadcasts.

Ever since JYJ was formed, fans’ frustration and disappointment (towards entertainment/music programs for editing out or preventing JYJ from making appearances on shows) are constant occurrences.
