JYJ managed to draw 22,000 fans and a record-breaking number of foreign fans to its four-day fan event.
JYJ held its 2012 JYJ Membership Week from June 28 to July 1 at Seoul’s EC.
C-JeS Entertainment rented out EC exclusively for JYJ Membership Week, and set up a large exhibition with such state of the art displays as a JYJ collaboration gallery, a JYJ documentary theater and a 3D façade.
On June 30 and July 1, the JYJ members themselves appeared at the scene for a fanmeeting to bring the exhibition to a successful close. It was a giant fan festival that had on display everything there was to know about JYJ.
Baek Chang Joo, head of C-JeS Entertainment, told enews on July 2, “We can’t stop just because we’re hindered and stopped from appearing on broadcast. We’ve concentrated on helping JYJ become bigger in the world through dramas or musicals and the group’s world tour. We also need to work hard to approach the group’s fans more sincerely. We’ll continue to heighten JYJ’s value by providing unique service to fans through a variety of content.”
JYJ thus spent a great couple of days with its fans for this purpose. The group’s special performance drew the group and its fans closer together.
The members said, “We’re happy that our fans look happy thanks to Membership Week, and we hope we can make more great memories with our fans in the future. We’ll continue to deliver to you good music and good performances as JYJ.”
“We want to say thank you because we always receive positive energy from our fans’ support. We’ll repay you for your love with our hard work and many activities,” added the group.
The Membership Week event was Korea’s first fan exhibition, and, according to C-JeS Entertainment, drew 7,024 Japanese fans to Korea.
An agency rep stated, “An official from the airport said that it ‘drew the largest number of foreigners to the country for just one event,’ and the tourism industry agrees that ‘the economic effects from the foreigners that entered the country for Membership Week amount to more than 10 billion won.’”

so the tourism sky rocketed like crazy…. is that what you’re saying? LOL i just find this funny that even though this clearly shows how POPULAR they are they still won’t let JYJ appear on TV. tsk.tsk.
This info really made my day! I am in the cloud nine now, JYJ you are the best
Congratulations JYJ and Fans for a very successful Membership Week, another milestone for JYJ’s achievement.
And is it just me who feels the other side is trying to bury this news, they are also flaunting how historic their talents achievements are, of course huge and manipulative companies can always make history but no idol group can match what JYJ has dared to achieve with their own feet.
hum, guess that “SX” company plus its alliances don’t want JYJ first half yearly brilliant success overshadowed their artists coming new project. ( Andxxid, Sexy Single Free, papaxxxx whatsoever we dun care 😛 ) They want to dominant in 2nd half year and even to 2013.
We saw some overseas mass media paired up JYJ membership week with that “SX” store at Seoul Karaoke as well, while the cover for the JYJ omitting crucial merits and facts. You can imagine how overseas markets ideology has been shaped.
However, at this moment, we think it is the best time to let JYJ appear in PRC hottest TV shows. 3 guys hit new milestone already, new benchmark need spread out asap.
Hope great teams are helping JYJ to realize this, July~Dec/12, Jan~May 13 could be JYJ era, despite those “SX” groups recycling all their songs, clothing etc, and still telling themselves they are the best.
Motivated news! Congratulate JYJ !
This 4-day-membership event really worth the cost.
Mass media( websites, TV channels etc) around the world covered the story.
While seeing many TV programs take the initiative to interview Junsu for his sparkling success solo album, guess this way of exposure is fair enough.
Korea TV shows or Japan TV shows , eg. variety shows, talk shows, really plenty of them. An artist may need to spend 20 hrs a day to run between TV stations, talking similar scripts.
Just like they have been doing in the past. Sometimes, we wonder if this is really necessary now.
Well, it would better let JYJ expose in PRC rock hit TV shows eg Hunan TV ” Happy Camp “, same effort, the result is 13 billion people able to know JYJ ( Not yet include Taiwan, HK , Macau)
And this show uploaded by viewers to youtube, translated into different languages. Then also can watched by Korean or Japanese fans on mobile devices, or TV with internet connection.
A man’s energy has limit, if go to TV, just go to the most cost effective one.
Our best wishes to JYJ 🙂
I heard this discussion about TV appearences before (if they’re necessary for success or not) and i gotta say for me a fan who lives far away from Korea, TV is almost the only way to see my stars at all 😦
Hum, traditional TV actually tremendously shaken by online TV. And by regions PRC is much influential than Korea or Japan. PRC tv variety shows broadcast worldwide, if possible hope JYJ management study on this.
who’s Sx btw?
"SM" :D
GOSH!!! what a bad influence to Hallyu Wave they are!!! look at that!! they dared to brought 7,024 Japanese fans to Korea. floaded Korea’s airports, hotels, and restaurants for 4 days straight!!! make them spendt their money in South Korea!!! they really are hurting Hallyu Wave!!! how dare these boys did that!!! they even did as far as giving those people free admission to enter the event, and make them happy and might keep coming back for more of those 3 and also for SK tourism attraction. they also might told about it to their friends and families and might bring more tourists to South Korea. what a pain. they need to be stopped hurting and bring a bad name/image to Hallyu Wave!!! (*sarcasm*)
ha…haaa:D
JYJ breaks the rule, foreign currency ? no need to travel abroad to earn,
Korea tourism becomes JYJ alliance , how innovative !!
Yet pls stay alert, “SX” set up a travel agency too.
How far it involves into the industry? need strict observation,
one thing is the more JYJ relies on social media eg. youtube, google,
the more they should monitor it.
Many websites based in US but exposed in Korea, youtube, google SEO,
seem manipulated significantly by “SX”, especially during Xia Tarantallegra.
eg. even Junsu uses Xia, instead of his old stage name, all his MV, news etc will
be automatically paired up with “SX” featured MVs.
Hope someones can help JYJ on this.
that’s my boys!!!!!!!!!!!!! *thump up*…wow…Japanese Fans will be surly happy..i envy them…how lovely our boys!!!!…made more events in functure and often…^^..we will waiting for u…

The power of currency. Don’t forget, the 15,000 Korean fans can also contribute. My guess, not all came from Seoul. So, those who came from other places in Korea stayed at hotels. But when you think about the economic impact of almost $9M USD equivalent, this is no small thing here.
Yes, that really bad influence on impressionable minds, causing all kinds of havoc with reckless spending in the country. What to do! Oh well, back to the drawing board. 🙂
Go ahead JYJ do your worst! I dare you! 🙂
This expo is an excellent foray into global fandom…If you can’t go to them, bring them to you. The cost of the expo really can’t just be measured in $$$. This is an event that won’t soon be forgotten by the attendees 😀
WOWWWWWWW JYJ THE BEST!!!! HWAITING!!! 😀
Reblogged this on dreamalexia.
One of these days I hope to be one of the many fans flying to Korea to happily spend my tourism dollars just to see JYJ! =)
