Translator’s Note: The article talks about how the fandom works. I only pinpoint the statements about JYJ.
SUMMARIZE:
There’s an article in Nate that says JYJ has 40 year old and older fans. They interviewed one who is a lawyer but he used a pseudonym (Mr Lee) during the interview lol. He went to the JYJ expo and attended the fanmeet.
“I like JYJ but I am not one of those sasaeng fans that go in front of their houses.”
The article also stated that JYJ has a lot of ahjumma and ahjussi fans that can be very instrumental in their success due to their position/occupation.
Mr Lee, married for 11 years this year: “I went to Thailand, one of the countries where they held their world tour, and watch the JYJ concert with my kids. Watching them lessens my stress”

@mamajyj
im an ahjumma too & obviously i really love JYJ…in my life this is the first time i admire an actor ,a singer like what im doing now.
High five sis!
I’m in my 40s and I’m a very strict public officer at work, fangirling like a 15 y.o. over Jae at night!
Sometimes I’m baffled by my own insane behavior pattern…
Then I open JYJ3 and as you see I am in good company!
I am a full professor at one of Korea’s most prestigious universities.
I love Jaejoong and support him for everything he does and will do.^^
Another proff how big JYJ and how great they are. I bet its hard for people to not fall from their charm he he they just to hard not to notice
“Watching them lessens my stress”
DITTO!
Oh wow! JYJ ahjushi fan. Awesome.
Being Ahjumma myself, I like this report 😀 Watching JYJ gives me a positive lift of my spirit and i’m proud to support them<333
Another Ahjumma who agrees that JYJ helps keep us YoUnG at HeArT!
Agree ^^
It just shows you how the power of music (and JYJ) can transcend all ages–from little children to seniors. Music is like medicine to the soul. It doesn’t matter how old you are–what matters is that the music lifts your spirit and fills you with joy. I’m sure JYJ’s music wiil continue to touch hearts around the world and last for generations to come.
I agree that JYJ have quite a big number of ahjumma and ahjussi fans. It proves that their music and artistic traits have depth, are mature enough and not limited to only appealing to teenagers or young fans. Being able to gather a diverse fanbase is beneficial to further our boys’ careers.
i LOVE it! we can truly say all ages love them cause we DO! these kinds of info are just really cool to read about. makes me so proud of them!
I am an ahjumma and a CEO of a large American company. I love JYJ…especially Yoochun!
“The key to the mystery of a great artist is that for reasons unknown, he will give away his energies and his life just to make sure that one note follows another . . . and leaves us with the feeling that something is right in the world.”
Leonard Bernstein Quotes
“Music is harmony, harmony is perfection, perfection is our dream, and our dream is heaven.”
Amiel Quotes
Music is a higher revelation than all wisdom and philosophy.
Music is the electrical soil in which the spirit lives, thinks and invents.
-Ludwig van Beethoven
Great music is that which penetrates the ear with facility
and leaves the memory with difficulty.
Magical music never leaves the memory.
-Sir Thomas Beecham
Music does bring people together.
It allows us to experience the same emotions.
People everywhere are the same in heart and spirit.
No matter what language we speak, what color we are,
the form of our politics or the expression of our love and our faith,
music proves: We are the same.
-John Denver
🙂
Love John Denver’s quote.
It’s the same feeling I have whenever I’m here!
To the heart there’s no age limit on loving someone/something, you just need to be wise on choosing what is best for you……JYJ fighting!
I barely gossip I admire JYJ for the music , dance and style which fascinated me by them 3 individually. I married for over 9 years, I have a job, a husband who loves me , also I participate a chorus when during the weeks. At first , I am very confused by myself because I am not So Young anymore , but the happy feeling in my heart makes me confused, it is like the crazy fans will react! Now, I finally realize and totally agree that the reason why I like them , the more I watch them, the more I happy again !
Each of them invested the young years in his career, from their performance, should I see their future direction and career development. I sincerely hope that they can still maintain the innocence of a child forever, it is not easy, but to climb the higher, it is necessary to more stable, so the career will be evergreen, you know.? this is my suggestion! Thank you!
Loving JYJ will make you feel younger. and here I thought I‘m too old to like an idol he he who knows alot more people like them. JYJ FIGHTING
I think one of the benefits of JYJs older fandom, is better fan services/supports/resources ! 😉 I mean financially wise haha
I’m in my 50’s and very crazy about JYJ.My husband says I act like teenager when watching and talking about JYJ.
im 42 yr old but im acting like a teenager when it comes to JYJ…i just love these guys esp.Jae ,he’s the love of my life.
I ‘ll be 60 this September and only discovered JYJ thru Yuchun’s SKKS which I love to bits. Now I wake up to their song Chajatta which is also my ringtone! Last year i rushed off to Seoul to see Yuchun walk the red carpet for the SIDA which i’ll be doing again on 30 August. I then went to Daegu to watch our boys perform live at the World Track &Field Championship on 4 Sept.Who cares about SM when a world body like the IAAF gave them a chance to perform in front of world class athletes which was telecasted on worldwide TV!
Tonight I’ll be flying to Seoul hoping to meet Yuchun at the fansign event at Blacksmith on Thursday!
To Gladys, I really surprised for your energetic !!! Have a nice trip . I only can meet Yuchun via web. You Good !
wow, impressive, thank you for being a fan.

Wow, you’re really amazing! Supporting our boys so much! Great !!!
Hi Gladys, Finally i found someone who is a Singaporean n crazy about JYJ in Singapore. You are so lucky, can fly off to Seoul to see YuChun n JYJ whenever you want. Hope you get to meet YuChun and have yourself a wonderful time there. Maybe we can chit chat again when you come back from Seoul later. Bye! Cheerio ! Take care !
Hi Cherry Pie! I am just as Glad to meet a fellow Singaporean here too! I am sure there are many otherstoo! Ihave met a few other jyjfans thru Yuchun’s SKKS.We have become close friends. In April we came to stalk him while he was filming RTP. We managed to locate the actual rooftop house but couldnt see him there. We attended the Beaksang award on 26 april but was late for the red carpet award. Altho we got into the auditorium we saw him from afar but it was WORTH IT!Come 30Dec a few of us will see him walk the red carpet at the SBS AWARDS.
Hi Gladys ! Wow, you r fast in replying ! When you come back from Seoul, Pleaseeeeeee…………..keep us updated on your trip n better still, if u can upload some photos for us to admire……hehe……..Here from u soon.
Hope I can join both of you next time to see Yoo Choon walking on the red carpet? Are you going to his fanmeet at Bangkok on 16 September 2012? Am from Singapore too!

I will be 49 this August. My children are 22, 18 and 17 year olds. With my ahjumma status I can afford to buy most of JYJ memorabilia 😀 which I do all the time! I love Micky to bits, as much as I love my kids 😀
Go Ajusshi fans! 🙂 I have a Korean ajumma (an IT manager @ work) whose kids are Big Bang fans while she’s a JYJ fan :o)

I’m in my 40s with professional job in financial field. Started to love JYJ and their music only this May after watching Yuchun’s Rooftop Prince and SKKS. Can’t stop falling in love with Yuchun’s charm and warm smiles. Love JYJ because three of them are talented in many ways and they work hard ! I buy JYJ albums to support them (the last pop-music album I bought was at least 20years ago!) Now I listen to JYJ music whenever I drive because I feel so bored with the radio programs ! JYJ hwaiting!!!
Same here! ^^ Yuchun really got me goin insane..lol xD i’m 25 years old workin in sales field. Startin to love him since Rooftop Prince (don’t really notice of him in SKKS coz dat time i support 1 of So Mean artist, its Super..u know whom i mean rite..n kinda hate TVXQ becoz false info bout them *really regret that T.T like seriously!!*) Startin from that time,i get to know JYJ..and totally fallin in love with three of them! After that i done some research of their history and finally understood it. Thank god they got out from their ‘claws’. Right now i’m buying all JYJ stuffs to support them and it makes me happy ^^ my bf broke up with me last year, and i thought ‘godd..i will be alone..’ but NOPE! Seeing Yuchun’s smile makes me ‘alive’..haha..and thanx to him my standard of choosin my future bf gone high >.<" Lol..so i guess thats how i start to love JYJ..in sum, they give me hope, joy and happiness..i love them so much ❤ and this is the first time i've ever feel this way..JYJ awesome to the max!
Hehe, so glad to hear from so many fellow ahjumma and ahjussi fans in this article. I am 42yrs old and became a JYJ fan via Yoochun’s SKKS. I will always love and support our brave and talented boys! ^^___^^
I’m an accountant in my early 20s and though I may not yet be an ahjumma I can see myself fangirling over these guys 20years from now. when it comes to JYJ I feel like a teenager and have never reacted to any artist this way before not even when all my middle school friends were crazy about Nsync. Reading all your posts inspire me to get a even better job because I want to be able to go to all their events just like all these ahjummas.
To do: find another job to support my JYJ addiction.
Same here… Well pass 20 and still acting like a possessed fan girl whenever JYJ appears. Just for JYJ only tho. Not young anymore… it gets a little embarrassing even when around family members :”p
Well now, more and more are coming in out of the closet. GOOD!!! Welcome. 🙂 🙂 🙂
