“Park Yoochun Getting Married? I’ll Be The First To Break The News” (Part 1)‏

“Taking on historical drama without any experience? I think I will 100% be scolded. To be real actor Kim Jaejoong, rather than the safer way, I think it’s alright to challenge a new route.”

I recently met up with JYJ member Kim Jaejoong who is maturing as an actor, at a cafe in Cheongdam-dong on the 6th. Acting in MBC’s ‘Dr Jin’ as flowery military official Kim Kyung Tak, he was, to my surprise, earnestly accepting the criticism towards his acting in the beginning of the drama. He is also clear that he had to present a better self in the future.

“I didn’t meant to receive any recognition through this drama. An actor with no experience challenging in historical drama is indeed a very difficult thing. Though I was not able to perform perfectly for everyone but right now I am able to present, not JYJ’s Kim Jaejoong, but another side of mine. I am satisfied with this.”

JYJ members have proved their ability in singing, acting and variety skills and during ‘Dr Jin’ production press conference, Kim Jaejoong said that, “In JYJ, the one who is the worst actor is me.”

Asking him again to grade his acting, Jaejoong said, “Grading should not be done by me. How can I grade my own acting? (laughs)” He said, “Yoochun’s gentle charismatic acting is a different feel from the acting I presented. Everyone has his own merits.”, avoiding the comparison question with Yoochun.

People thought he only had venom in his eyes but he whisked everyone off their feet with his handsome, deep and dark sentimentality and masculinity. This is MBC Weekend Drama “Time Slip Dr. Jin”‘s Kim Jaejoong. Let’s listen to his story.

1. His Relationship with “Time Slip Dr. Jin.”

“I was so scared because of the huge amounts of pressure. I worried that I was coming into a project underprepared and unqualified and I also worried about my freedom and ability to express the intricacies of Kyung Tak,” he said.

“Dr. Jin” must have been an intimidating choice to begin with: a historical drama, many older and more experienced actors, and the negative perspective that people have of idol singers turned actors. He has already been growing an impressive resume: starting with his debut in the 2009 movie “Postman of Heaven,” he appeared in “Protect the Boss” and a Japanese drama in 2010. Even then, “Time Slip Dr. Jin” was a huge challenge for him.

However, despite all the odds, he decided to star in the drama. He wanted to find what it was that drew him to acting in the first place and what he could offer as actor Kim Jaejoong, rather than a singer. The struggles in the beginning only fueled his desire to face the challenge.

“While being on ‘Dr. Jin’, I got a new sense of courage to throw myself to the side while acting and just immerse myself into the acting and also a new determination to keep on acting. It gave me a stepping stone to go a little further,” he added. Rather than a stable route, he wants to go the path of more struggle and exploration.

“I don’t know what I have left to show you,” he went on, “But I’m sure that there are many parts of me you haven’t seen yet. There are still people with presumptions about who I am but perhaps that’s because I haven’t shown you everything. I want to even try a psychopath role someday!”

[NEWS] 120808 JYJ Kim Jae Joong revealed the meaning of his tattoo on his left chest

The member of Korean popular male group, JYJ, said that the tattoo on his chest means to always keep his beliefs.

He said, “I design the tattoo. I went to tattoo it with Yoo Chun 2 years ago. I might lose everything I have now one day but I should keep to my beliefs till the end.”

Besides the tattoo on his chest, he tattooed the names of his members on his back.

He explained, “Some people said I will regret one day for tattooing my members’ name. But I don’t think so. Now, no matter how busy I am, I will always think that my members are with me together and everytime it would remind me how important are they.

Next, he also revealed that he would never tattoo a girl’s name, including his wife.

He emphasized that he might tattoo his children names in the future, but definitely not woman’s name.

[NEWS] 120810 JYJ’s Kim Junsu’s New Single Album, ‘Uncommitted’, Begins Preorders

JYJ’s Kim Junsu’s new single album has begun taking pre-orders.

C-Jes Entertainment revealed Kim Junsu’s upcoming new single album, Uncommitted, began pre-orders sales on August 10 both online and offline and would continue to do so through August 20.

Kim Junsu flew to America last month to work with Bruce “Automatic” Vanderveer, who composed the track, which is described as an up-tempo R&B piece about the peculiar psychology between a man and woman.

“Automatic” said, “The lyrics brings out the wounded and longing for healing emotions of a man who appeals to his true love. However, the melody, in contrast, is sweet and mellow. Kim Junsu really sang it well.”

[NEWS] 120809 Fabien Yoon apologizes to the JYJ fans in regards to controversial tweet

T/N: Fabien Yoon acted as the French Priest in “Dr. Jin”

Fabien Yoon apologized to JYJ fans.

French model and actor Fabien Yoon recently wrote via his Twitter page, “To all the JYJ fans, I apologize if you were hurt by my tweet. That wasn’t my intention. I just simply chose the wrong words. I was only trying to express my personal opinion on the Dokdo issue.”

“I apologize if I hurt any feelings,” he said. “I will act more prudently in the future. Please support ‘Dr. Jin’ until the end.”

Ahead of this tweet, Fabien shared a photo of a rice wreath that a Japanese JYJ fan sent to Jaejoong, who is currently filming MBC drama ‘Dr. Jin‘. Along with the photo, Fabien had written, “It’s good to see the support, but can we stop saying that Dokdo is their land?“, causing controversy amongst fans everywhere.

There is a recurrent territorial dispute between Japan and Korea over Dokdo/Takeshima, an island that sits geographically between the two countries.

Fans who saw Fabien’s tweet responded with, “It’s just his opinion,” and “He apologized, so let’s just pretend this never happened.”

[INTERVIEW] 120809 Kim Jae Joong Says Young Hwi is More Like His Ideal Type

Kim Jae Joong dished on his ideal type, and it’s not Young Rae of Dr. Jin.

The singer-turned-actor, who finished filming for the MBC drama Dr. Jin and is enjoying his time off, recently met with enews and said, “I want to date someone. I don’t want to just date, I want to date someone that can be mine, my girl.”

In Dr. Jin, Kim Jae Joong has been making his viewers fall in love with him as a man who loves only one woman, namely, Young Rae (Park Min Young).

His role is also close friends with Young Rae’s big brother, Young Hwi (Jin Yi Han), but some viewers, to everyone’s amusement, have actually been saying that he goes well with Young Hwi more than Young Rae.

Kim Jae Joong knew of the reactions, and said, “I always have weird chemistry. I go better with actors than actresses….”

When asked about his real ideal type, he became serious and emphasized, “I don’t like Young Rae. I want someone who has eyes for me. Someone who thinks only of me like Young Hwi…. If he was a woman, not a same-sex friend, I mean. I used to care a lot for looks when I was little, but I don’t think looks are that important. What’s inside is more important.”

The final episode of Dr. Jin, which will show the last of Kim Jae Joong’s character Kim Kyung Tak, will air on August 11.

Kim Jae Joong in the meantime plans to meet with officials in L.A. with his fellow JYJ members, and spend his vacation there.
