Junsu stated, “There is about 500,000 miles that I didn’t use earlier this year for my mileage, but it does not matter. Wherever my fans are, I will go to see them.”
JYJ member Junsu is the first K-Pop artist to perform in Mexico. Junsu commented, “I worked really hard not to make anything boring or normal.”
Yesterday, Junsu held a press conference in Mexico. Junsu commented, “Although this was my first concert in Mexico, I was shocked to see that all 3,000 seats were sold out. Since I am the first K-Pop musician to perform here, I promise not to let anyone down.”
There had been many problems before being able to release a solo album and hold a world tour. Junsu commented, “In reality, it is hard to show someone’s face on TV unless it’s acting and so I rejected the idea to make a new album at first. I was also casted for a mini drama series, but if both my acting and singing career are on the line, I knew that I would have to choose what I am best at. That is why I gave up my acting role and decided to go on with making this album.”
Junsu’s new album was a major success with over 120,000 albums sold. His Asia tour brought in 40,000 fans as well.
Junsu believed that his success was due to the internet. He commented, “The days where songs would only become popular through TV broadcasts are gone. Now, it become popular through music videos online. The internet allows anyone to advertise their content online.”
Junsu also commented, “Doing musicals helped me change into a more positive person. Certain things I’ve learned from musicals helped me to make this new album as well. If I had not done musicals, I would not have made this great album. Musicals helped me to express myself freely as an artist.”
Junsu was very thankful that he was able to portray his own style and image through this album.
After his concert in Mexico, he will continue on to Brazil and Chile.
:O junsu would have been in a drama?! I wonder which one.. But I think he made the right choice.. His acting skills are pretty… Um let’s just say musical acting fits his style more ^^
I agreee! I want to see more of him in musicals~ but if he want to do acting, well, i’ll support u cuz i know u’ll do ur vr best!
@ Lily
Yes Junsu participated in TV drama in ” A scent of woman ” episode 5 , and OST 2011
Since most video being taken down, here is an edit version . His acting is funny , NGs are LOL.
Perhaps need search again your side. Enjoy~
Way back there was a rumor about him being the pop star in Jackal but that rumor disapeared after some time. And after some months when the topic emerged again, it was Jaejoong casted in the same movie… I always wondered what happened whit that project. Maybe it was really Junsu who accepted the role first but stepped back at the end. Maybe JJ took over if the movie already had a contract with C-JeS anyway and they didn’t want to let go of the opportunity, it was too good. Otherwise I can’t even imagine why would Jaejoong take up another role right in the middle of his already hectic shooting schedule for Jin.
@Lizzy,
Hi Liz ~ i think JYJ relay on a row is the ultra means to breakthrough their difficulties. In fact, more difficulties are coming up from this September. DBSK2 comeback to Korea already for 6th album ,and their Asia tours confirmed. Let’s keep an eyes.
Never mind the rumor, ( though i m Junsu bias ), JYJ members can have gentleman competition, but surely not go to extinction alike competiton. (It is horrible and a big ? to me watching the ” conflict ” btw Jae’s & Yuchun’s fans) . Aren’t the rivals out there ?
BB, JYP idols, Fistland, SM , Jang KS , Kim SY…..all those rival male idols , really no need to
Once again, let’s remember Jaejonng, Yuchun, Junsu in a row, finally changed the failure destiny in Japan:
Let’s trust their marketing strategy , though sometimes we anxious about their career, including me 😛
Junsu is talking about DRAMA Casting role, Not a MOVIE…Jackal is Coming is a Movie, and the producer or director says at the beginning they wanted 2AM member (I don’t remember the name, but he was busy with his schedule and couldn’t make it), but then they ended choosing Jaejoong…They never mentioned Junsu. It was the Korean Press that spreaded those rumors about Junsu being casted, I heard that when Cjes offered their actors to the director/producer of Jackal is Coming Movie after 2AM’s member stepped down, they choosed JJ, because he is good at Singing + Acting ^^
Related to Junsu career as actor, I prefer he start acting with a supportive role until he improves his drama acting^^
“if both my acting and singing career are on the line, I knew that I would have to choose what I am best at”
I really like this sentence! We can’t fully concentrate on doing two different things at the same time, thus we need to give up one to make another one more success. And Junsu, you did the right thing! 😀
Junsu is a drama!!! I want!!! *___*
I love EVERY SINGLE song in ‘Talatallegra’, and ‘Uncommitted’, of course!
it’s nice reading the recent articles abt him. feel proud of you junnie 🙂
Junsu is very smart and wise beyond his years. He is very talented and has a lot of poise. He is also very quick to learn and try new things. This is what I picked up from reading his interviews. I love the fact that he is sort of an adventurer, bringing K Pop to new countries. He has a lot of courage and always tries to do his best. This is all very interesting to watch, so I plan to keep watching.
500,000 flight mileage just in 8 mths. ( not yet include 2 more stops to travel, and back to Seoul )
* nowadays , I simply reject long haul over 15 hours, both work or play.
Dear Junsu , your physical albums Tarantallegra, Uncommitted both at my home now.
Yr coming musical CD, Asia Tour Concert DVD are on my wish list. Awaiting your release.
Your Asia concerts rock! these are my little support for your fighting spirit in music career .
Thanks to musicals, a rich soils for your music exploration – during Mozart, you wrote Fallen Leaves ; Elizabeth, you wrote Tarantallegra.
In Japan , musicals are big biz, however, ” unfortunately ” you’re restricted to perform there.
( *** a disguised blessing actually, many elites expatriate left JP for good after 311 nuclear disaster, it is worse than imagine)
You are right, prioritized music first, which is your strongest strength. And you have laid a high benchmark in solo album,
which is a challenge to JYJ other members 😀 , however, they also laid a high benchmark in TV drama / movie. Nice to
see JYJ pursue the excellence this way.
TV dramas, a MUST for you Junsu, the only formula to keep your fame abroad without another 5,000,000 flight mileage.
Rain Jung , is the role model. Yuchun, Jaejoong, FM meeting tickets very high, and audience so many. That is the power
of TV dramas.
Nonetheless, your music inspire JP pianist , Fallen leaves ~ healing music for the broken hearts.
You are a blessing to others.
I really want junsu in drama. Really want to see him on tv
I’m glad Junsu chose the album this time; he knows where his strengths are, and Tarantallegra is the result of that. “Uncommitted” is also a by product of “Taran”. Junsu is very smart, when the role and the timing is right he will do a drama 😀
I too am glad Junsu did not force himself to appear in a drama, and had the courage to take on the challenge of his solo career. He is really a singer and dancer at heart. And musicals are a perfect extension of that. I think it would be a mistake to feel forced to appear in a drama just so he can get the publicity from air time. If he isn’t 100% sure it is something he would enjoy, and be meaningful in expressing himself artistically (just because it is an avenue JJ and YC have found much success in) he should never feel pressured to take that route. So I agree with you Barbara, Junsu was wise to choose music over drama. Not only that, he was being true to himself. Because ultimately, singing is what he loves most.
The boys and CJes have tried to get around JYJ not being able to appear on TV via dramas, however, I believe their first love is music.
“The days where songs would only become popular through TV broadcasts are gone. Now, it become popular through music videos online. The internet allows anyone to advertise their content online.”
Hahaha…Take that, evil SME!
I think he made a wise choice, the time for Junsu was ideal to bring out a solo album after he had finished his musical Elisabeth
and as much as I would love to see him in a drama, I don’t think it’s his forte, he fits musicals a lot more: he can stand on a stage and sing and perform with everything he’s got
I am also glad that he chose to pursue his passion in singing as he really does an outstanding job in that! Not that I will mind watching him in a drama of course! 😀
