“During crisis there is an opportunity for breakthrough” It might be cliche but everyone experienced, at least once, the fierce reality of life. Nowadays, the music industry especially, it’s an era of stars turning crisis into opportunity.
JYJ
JYJ who left TVXQ in July 2009, experienced twists and turns, ups and downs, the moment they came out of their former agency SM Entertainment. Because of legal disputes, it was hard for them to appear on stage. There was no song to sing on stage as well. Due to copyright laws, most songs are registered under TVXQ. Still, they held out and in fact filled 80% of their first studio album, that was unveiled for the first time in Korea, with their self-produced songs.
Fans’ reaction was good. For the first time, there was an idol group album almost filled with self-composed songs. It had a higher degree of musical perfection and maturity. JYJ has gone beyond idol status, became singer-songwriters and has now evolved into a group of artists.
JYJ was forced to actively embark on overseas tour instead of domestic stage. JYJ’s last performance in Peru last March was held approximately one year since the world tour has started. The whole world was captivated beyond Asia to Europe and South America. Junsu’s solo worldwide concert tour has mobilized tens of thousands of local spectators.
JYJ has turned to drama and musical fronts to get a foothold in popularity. They have been recognized as actors thru Yoochun’s Rooftop Prince and Sungkyunkwan Scandal, and Junsu’s musicals Mozart and Tears of Heaven. Jaejoong’s acting in Dr Jin has been noticed and his movie Jackal is set to be released in November. JYJ, who are Hallyu actors and singers as well, has been voted to be the most influential Kpop stars in 2012 in the site all kpop.
JYJ has tasted the bitterness of life but has once again stood on top and has become more mature. They endured malicious rumors and sasaeng fans assaults. They don’t give up and always reassure fans while dealing with crisis.
Note: I omitted Psy and Tablo’s parts.

Proud of JYJ
I want cry(TT)…
@ uniqueka
Oh! please cry if you want to… it’s ok, a lot of us do… i’m not actually crying right now — i’m sobbing… *so hard to type and compose messages* 😦
Yes. Very good of lee soo man . He tries to get the media to brain wash the south korean public opinion to validate the ban and blacklist placed on JYJ. The judge said SME is not to interefere in c-jes and JYJ entertainment activities.
JYJ’s activities used to be variety shows music awards ect.
C-JESCONTACTING KBS and OTHER Brodcast channels to have JYJ achieve entertainment activity.
The Fair Traid announcement of SME interference in blocking and barring JYJ from TV brodcast.
The court offecial rule to JYJ to have right to use TVXQ while carrying on with their usual entertainment activities and i quote the judge “just as they always have been doing” .
Three evidence “the Fair Trade and court being offecials” DO NOT VALIDATE BLACKLISTING JYJ.
THIS REPORT is a tactic to shut you up for ten years coming. Should we thrw off The court and Fair Traids stand against blocking JYJ? IF blocking JYJ from music promotions when the judged ruled in JYJ’s favour to continue on as before and legally use their stage name AND TVXQ while their entertainment activity, then why the fair trade said “blacklisted” it means legally the ban and baring of JYJ IS NOT VALIDATE. THIS REPORT IS SOO MAN TACT. Believe me. Or rather believe the legal facts .
Yap! sometimes, “bad” things really turns out to be blessings in disguise… and all things have its purpose, all we have to do is wait 🙂
Oh! thank you so much for this amazing article about JYJ!!! just by reading this can give HOPE to anyone… life is a mystery — but it’s truly beautiful!!! 🙂
I’m so proud of you JAECHUNSU!!! Proud to be a JYJ fan as well!!! 🙂
That’s what I’m talkin’ about! JYJ fighting!!!
im so love this article.. ;D
I’m crying reading this coz I am so proud of being JYJ FAN. The hardship that they have to endure never once break their spirit. I will continue supporting you and loving you from afar. JYJ saranghae.
Great. I emailed the “60 Minutes” show and reporter Anderson Cooper in New York about JYJ and I know other JYJ supporters are emailing as well. Hopefully, these media outlets will take an interest in what’s been going on between JYJ and SM Entertainment. Anyone who needs media contacts please go to the Open Discussion Post, there are addresses, emails and phone numbers listed. Anyone else who knows of more media outlets to contact, please list them. This is a great, uplifting story. Despite their troubles, the boys not only continue to survive–but thrive. But like me, I’m sure the fans want to see the boys receive their deserved royalties as well as the legal right to perform in Korea. JYJ fans, keep fighting!

Well, I find that I can’t comment on the Nate site but i would just like to add my great admiration for this article and the courageous journalist who wrote it. This wasn’t easy, or safe to do. God Bless you for doing it. We WILL break through this terrible banning of JYJ, we are mobilized now and we will not look back. All fans of JYJ must participate in ending this crippling blockade of JYJ. Please step up — please help us.
@lilibaiyu
Agree so much. Let’s step up and help JYJ .
Critical than ever.
Lilibaiyu, I just had an idea, and I think you could be one of the persons as well as others you know who could help pull this off. Is there some way an electronic petition could be established protesting what’s happening to JYJ through email? Fans could electronically sign an online petition that would be open for a certain amount of time. After the petition period is over, the protest letter and signatures could be sent to as many media outlets (around the world)? as possible. Fans could electronically sign their names on the petition. Those who only know Korean could write their names in their language and our Latin friends could sign their names in their language. Fans who know English could sign their names in their language. This would elimiate language barriers, because JYJ fans would only have to type their name on the petition. The page could be open for a few weeks or a month until thousands of signaures have been gathered, then the list of names and a detailed explanation of JYJ’s unfair treatment could be emailed to all media outlets. There is no way that media outlets could ignore these thousands of signatures, and it most definitely would attract attention in many countries, especially if you send it to the media outlet’s CEOs. I’m not quite sure how this could work, or maybe through twitter? JYJ administration, are you in? Just an idea!
maybe u can email JYj3 admins in : jyj3official@yahoo.com
I like the different languages idea. That’s something new and attention grabbing. This could work.
@ShirleyUSA . This is a great idea to get fans from all over the world to sign the petition to help JYJ. I Agree 100% . someone please please… Help and think. So excited….
So touched. The best part is “JYJ has tasted the bitterness of life but has once again stood on top and has become more mature” and “They dont give up and always reassure fans while dealing with crisis”

this is the reason why i never stop for support the boys
thanks admins for this and for the writer of this articles
JYJ treasured every chance and worked extremely hard , now they went through many of darkness finally they touched the top and saw some brighter future , however they still not stop their step & keep on fly to higher place , to their new world , to built up more & more castles all over the worldwide.
I need to say “Congratulations to JYJ” for their great achievements in both singing , acting , musical , Concerts , song writing/composing , ……….
I’m so proud of our boys JYJ , everyone is my prince !! ^^
V@_^V
“Proud” may not be a strong enough word to describe how I feel about JYJ now. To think that these 3 young men have overcome that many obstacles in the harsh entertainment industry, stood tall on their own feet, built their own names, and achieved countless success is just so admirable. I wish them all the best. Thumbs up to this journalist for writing this article.
@Angie
You said it. Great comment, I so agree with it. JYJ are one in a million. They deserve all our support.

any decision made between this period of time, shall Massively influence one’s life & destiny.
I am so grateful to you , Lord, who never forsake Jaejoong, Yoochun and Junsu.
For their 20s , have seen lots of nasty in commercial world. And the darkest side of human.
Pls continue to bless them, as they tumble and fall, they are brave enough to stand up and fight.
May the recent Asia jaw drop news: SM C & C takes over AM Entertainment, not shaking JYJ’s heart. With such a greedy monster snake swallowing all its preys, pls executes your justice for the weakest
in their industry.
While ex-colleagues not communicate with JYJ anymore, so will Han ji min now under SM not speak with Yoochun again ??? Life is full of amusing circles. JYJ , my dear 3 brothers, pls have a zip of hot green tea, because nuna me has to take a breathe as well.
For You, Brothers JYJ :

Build me a son, O Lord,
who will be strong enough to know when he is weak,
and brave enough to face himself when he is afraid;
one who will be proud and unbending in honest defeat,
and humble and gentle in victory.
Lead him, I pray,
not in the path of ease and comfort,
but under the stress and spur of difficulties and challenge.
Here, let him learn to stand up in the storm;
here let him learn compassion for those that fail.
AMEN
GOD BLESS JYJ
@kris,
Hi,
Yes , AMEN.
GOD BLESS JYJ
Amen!
But what?!!! Han Ji Min went where? Who’s AM entertainment?
I know who AM entertainment is now. That’s bad news. They have all the good actors and actresses in their company. That means SM will try and block JYJ in drama land now. This is really really bad!
OK. No body should panick just yet. If the pics I see posted on the facebook are ALL the artists under their belt then I don’t think we need to worry just yet. Whew! The only capable big stars I see there are Hyunbin (he’s already out of the picture since he’s gone to the army forever), Shim Mina (a really talented artist. Love her talent and beauty), Seung Ho (my favorite kid-turned teenager actor out there), Kim Ha Neul (a veteran but boring actress. Not interested), and finally Jang Dong Gun (The owner of AM entertainment. Or was). Since Hyun Bin is out of the picture and we can’t count the owner, that means there are ONLY 2 effective/extremely talented actor/actresses uinder this company, Shim Mina and Seung Ho. 3, if you count Han Ji Min who just joined. Which leaves a whole lot of other extremely talented actor/actresses out there in the industry who hopefully will not fall under SME’s manipulations. So I think we can still breathe easy. Whew!
@loveunchanged
Hi, guess this is only the beginning.
Jang Dong Gun has great China & HK connection since his movie “無極” and recent movie ” Dangerous Liaison ” . He contributes his network behind. Plus, SM C&C united with big 6 in Korea (United Asia Management & KMP Holdings . Which means artists ZERO bargaining power.
ONLY ONE agency in S. Korea. This is the final blueprint. Heaven for the owners .
These smaller labels now make themselves NO Where to escape, if anything irritates SM like
JYJ has meant to SM, they can be same same pitiful.
The horrible lesson of Euro zone. A decade or more ago, ppl bottom tossed for it.
How about the Euro zone today?? This shit endangers the neighboring countries!
Merging with SM C & C , will inevitably persecute those who don’t want to conspire with the monster size company SM !
JYJ , and many other smaller labels , hearsay around 500 agencies, definitely in tougher surviving edges. This left no choice for artists, no choice for consumers.
六国灭亡, 弊在赂秦 !不赂者以赂者丧。《六国论》苏洵
“Fatal cause of six countries falling down , was to bribe the Qin Dynasty.
Those who didn’t bribe died for those who did” ~ ( Thesis on the six countries ) ~ by Su Xun
Yes. This is something that shouldn’t be allowed to happen. Not because it will affect JYJ, but because it will affect the whole South Korea Entertainment industry, and even beyond, in a negative way. This is monopoly in it’s most evil form. This is not about JYJ anymore. It’s about South Korea being led into a dictatorship rule led by Lee Soo Man. Now consumers and producers will have no choice but to bow down to SME because he will eventually come to own everything if he’s not stopped. But people are just sitting there watching. It’s their country but they are just sitting there watching and doing nothing. They don’t know that enjoying whatever SME puts on their table is helping SME drag their country into the toilets. Oh, well. Maybe, just maybe, the reason why JYJ had to come out of SME and go through all this cr_p is so that they can help their country break free from SME’s dictatorship rule when the time comes. LOL. I’m serious though.
Hyun Bin and Shin Minah’s contracts have expired with AM Entertianment, so they are not part of this merge. Hyun Bin will decide what to do after his enlistment is complete and Shin Mina will decide after her drama is over. So they may or may not go to SM. Also I honestly wonder if the rest of those actors will stay once their contracts have expired, at the moment they have no choice but to merge so yeah.
Didn’t I hear/read that Hyun Bin joined the Marines as an actual career? Meaning he’s not coming back into the entertainment field. The news was all over the place.
@loveunchanged
“They don’t know that enjoying whatever SME puts on their table is helping SME drag their country into the toilets”
Thanks for your powerful horn towards SME died hard fans, who always think SME and its products are being consumed. It is definitely vice versa.
@asuske
Yes, these two escapes are the only comfort for the case. Yet, more and more merging will take place. Let’s keep an eye for more shocking take over….
I sincerely hope not.
@loveunchanged
I never heard that. Well either way he currently is not part of this merger with SM and I really hope that the rest of those actors will go to other agencies once they’re contracts are up. Please for heaven’s sake
If Han Ji Min just joined, what do you think the rest will do?
@loveunchanged
Han Ji Min and the rest did not join willingly. All these artist are part of AM Entertainment. AM decides they want to merge with SM C&C. All artists who have a contract with AM have no choice but to join SM C&C because they are under contract. So once they’re contracts are up it will be interesting to see if they decide to stay out if their own free will.
So Han Ji Min had always been in AM entertainment? I thought she just joined. Anywhose… How many years do you think their respective contracts are up till? 7years? 10years? Even if it’s 5years its too long. Plus, will SM just merge with it if he doesn’t get to keep the artists? I don’t think so.
@loveunchanged, @ asuske
Only 77 days left , Hyun Bin back home after finishing his boot camp.
He is good friend of Jang Dong Gun , and indeed Jang helped push his career to the peak.
For some crazy reasons, if things go on like that, i hope JYJ cjes merge with J. Tune Entertainment – Rain Jung.
When you say Rain, do you mean Bi? Isn’t Bi’s entertainment already (almost completely) under JYP? Bi’s former label. Because I heard, a while back, that MBLAQ, Bi’s babies, had been subsetted (I don’t wanna use the word merged or sub-merged so I’m coining my own words, lol) under JYJ after Bi went to the army. There was such a rumor floating around on youtube.
@ JYJ Global Listener
Omo that would be very interesting if CJES merged with J. Tune
Oh wait I forgot, J. Tune already merged with JYP
@loveunchanged
Yes, the Rain Jung who’s till in army 🙂
Guess after he return, things will be different, MBLAQ seems like babysit by JYP now 😛
No problem, Rain’s commercial mind is crazily creative. ( the way how he set up J. Tune)
And he is very capable to set up another J. Tune the II, IF JYJ coming together,
JYJ need not just play as artists. They can be investors as well. Let those younger groups to
go out and earn profit 😛 ( though compared to Rain’s assets now , JYJ still have long road to run)
@asuske,
Now problem this is transitional period, Rain is not able to babysit his artists.
After he come back, things can changed a lot better. This mega star & friend of Jae
can be a good partner.
You make me proud my dear boys. You really do ❤
after knowing about the merger’s problem, I feel so worried 😦 and and now reading this article, it lifts up my mood a bit 🙂
K press & media, we need some articles and news like these, bravo! for who wrote this article, they do a great job, please help and support JYJ more, they’re Koreans right!
@miki4yuu
yes, this take over / merging shakes own Asia entertainment industry.
All those refuse to conspire with SM C & C, will be persecuted by AM entertainment & other big names who keen to conspire with it.
For JYJ , they badly need strong camps of think tanks to sustain their career.
Omg..so worried bout our boys…please leave them alone u monster! why can’t they let them live peacefully.. 😦
@yuchunrocksmylife
yes, let’s take big big breath , and brainstorm more solution .
It took guts for the writer of this article to speak up for JYJ and justice; but no surprise, as JYJ attract like-minded people, the wall before them will eventually crumble to the ground!
This is what i’ve always thought about them : THEY AREN’T MERELY SINGERS , BUT …THEY ARE ARTISTS ! They don’t have only good voices , but INTERPRETATION, CREATIVITY, COMPONISTIC TALENTS and so-good -looking! And I’m so glad they’ve a great success in acting . Too bad Romania is a small country for them to come here. Congratulations!
They forgot about Junsu in Elizabeth as Death/Tod!
Can someone who reads Korean please tell me if the author of this piece is listed anywhere on the article? If any of our JYJ3 people read and write in Korean *please* post a response on the Nate page thanking the writer of this article. Let’s let them hear from us that we appreciate this writer’s work!
[이데일리 스타in 조우영 기자]
Not sure, but the last 2 symbols ( 기자 ) mean reporter. Go Mu Young is the name, maybe? I’m rusty.
That translates to:
E-Daily Star, Reporter Jo WooYoung.
Always support u JYJ! Things will get better..It might be STORMY now but it can’t RAIN forever……
proud of JYJ and his fans who supported them from the beginning. always keep your faith.
so proud reading this article
and evenmore, they put Tablo, JYJ n PSY together. Tablo and JYJ have face hard times in their life, and both even still have to face it till now, and Psy, he is a proof that pretty face and expensive outfit and superb dancing skill not always guarantee for success. its originality, personality n uniqueness that could bring you higher. the 3 of them are prove of what amazing artists could rise high after face countless hard times, and painfull time in their life. proud that medias out these 5 people (JYJ, Psy n Tablo) together =)
thats JYJ for you…
lights shine brightest in the dark
fighting JYJ
thanks sooooo much to all the loving supporters ❤
I am really proud of JYJ and I proud to be their fan. They truly are inspirational and I hope that there are only good things for them in the future. Also just had to add I also really respect Tablo and I’m glad he has also pushed through.
JYJ fighting spirit really suit with this song…
“Cause I got something to believe in
As long as I’m breathing
There is not a limit to what I can dream
Cause I got something to believe in
Mission to keep climbing
Nothing else can stop me if I just believe
And I believe in me.” Dima bilan
a proud fans here….
Thanks Nate and JYJ3 for your wonderful article. Felt really touch by those words and so proud of our JYJ boys. They have done the impossible, unthinkable and unbelievable in their own unique ways to conquer the world as professional artist and actually became the most talked about KPOP artist and professional Actors as well. No one can do it like our boys, not even Homin. But now they will need a big miracle from God to break SME and to gain higher reputation and recognition in their own country. Fighting !
I smile while reading this but i feel want to cry … Of all the hardships that they had before is now worth it… I’m sure the other two also pray for you guys… Love you guys so much as your hardcore fan !!! =D Though i will never meet you guys … i will stay be your fan!
I love positive article like this…. makes me gushed with lots of emotions…JYJs have always inspired me!!!!
Thank you writer and admin for publishing them, these are my exact thoughts too!!!!
Despite SM’s efforts to suppress them, they still shine through brilliantly …..and I believe will continue to do so!
I love all JYJ fans for coming together for them and we can do more….
As per the JYJ3 open discussion post , let’s do our part by emailing/write the media (addresses are given by Shirley USA)…
Love you guys….JYJ AND FANS FIGHTING!!!!!!!
@loveunchanged,
I’m sure Han Ji Min feels bummed out with this merger… ….especially since they have a close noona dongseng relationship!!!
(She signed a long term contract (5yrs I think) with AM last 1st Sept 2011 and
if I’m not mistaken, in 2010, after watching Yoocun in SKKS
she mentioned that she’d love to work with an idol preferably Yoochun ….)
We’ll have to see what happens now…
JYJ has overcome so many hardships, I think about the past and am in tears. 3 years later,their accomplishments are known globally. I believe they have paved the way for other Kpop idols to go abroad and be embraced by the many fans that love the music they share. Praying for their continued success.
JYJ the 3 youth fighters.
Sigh…doing business in SK seems ” dangerous “. Even the court cannot make up his mind for the victim. SK is a country without law. The court is a canteen? ask two customers to argue outside before coming back again 😛
Seriously, this case is public interest, and involves giant entertainment GANGs exporting hallyu to other nations. All exporters without fulfilling basic society ethnics, should BE BANNED from exporting / re-export any goods, service again. But JYJ case is in the contrary , the victim being banned !! The abusers free to expand EXPAND EXPAND. The bully extend outside court for 3 yrs.
Perhaps importers must take action to ban the importers. Just like Apple bans Samsung.
Say no to its Hallyu goods, service, promotion, online offline at least 3 months , until the verdict
compensation is realized.
The reintroduction of wolves in Yellowstone national park , is crucial to balance the ecosystem.
Bear, watch out & please learn again you are not the only king .
JYJ are a Good example for hoobaes and even sunbaes that nothing can hold you back from doing the thing you love the most if you’re passionate about it and you trust yourself enough to do it that’s why i think they’re really a GREAT role models for me and for anyone ❤ T____T *happy tears*
Aaaaw proud of yju

Ooh, this sounds interesting from a political perspective. At the rate SM is expanding, S. Korea is indirectly sabotaging her own sovereignty. In due time, an ordinary folk (local or foreign) may think that Lee Soo Man is the president of S. Korea bwahahaha….
Hey, Mr President, your position and influence is at risk. Time to step up before you fade into oblivion
