Dear Jaejoong, Yoochun and Junsu Fans,
It has been over 3 years, since we last saw JYJ perform on entertainment shows and other media avenues. Other fans get to enjoy watching their favorite groups perform; so why are JYJ fans, denied this same opportunity? There are many groups, both within and outside K-pop, who leave their former companies, yet do not face this kind of harassment. Such a despicable situation, one that has gone on for far too long, is unacceptable, unjust and unfair.
The South Korean Courts have repeatedly dismissed SME’s false claims and frivolous lawsuits against JYJ. The courts specifically and legally allowed Jaejoong, Yoochun, and Junsu: (1) to leave SME and (2) to continue their entertainment activities. Yet, despite these rulings, SME and its cronies have continued to subvert the rule of law and persist in impeding JYJ’s career.
SME has essentially engineered a covert blacklisting of JYJ, by its strong-arm tactics, against anyone who tries to give JYJ a chance. There are eyewitness testimonies, articles and even media exposés that have alluded to SME’s behind the scene interference of JYJ’s activities.
Are you disgusted by such abuse of power and unfair oppression? We are too. That is why we started, the ‘JYJ – No More Ban Project,’ as an opportunity for all JYJ fans and supporters to make our voices heard and our actions count. We created this website as a place where fans can get more information.
When you visit the site, you will be provided with simple, tasks that cost you nothing, but a few minutes to accomplish. Are you willing to ‘copy, paste and send’ to help JYJ? Register and subscribe to receive updates on the right of this page. Click the letters link above and then share the information with as many people as you can. That’s it. We need all fans, English and non-English speaking (there is a translate function on the site) to help spread the word.
We are confident that JYJ fans are some of the most loyal and supportive fans in the world and look forward to what we can accomplish together. We thank you for your anticipated support.
Yours Faithfully,
~JYJ NO MORE BAN Movement Team~

****************LETTER TEMPLATE BEGINS HERE*****************
Dear Sir or Madam,
I write to you today to bring to your attention an issue currently plaguing the S. Korean music industry, which is aggressively marketing a new kind of music known as K-pop. This issue concerns the ongoing lawsuit between the massively successful and well-known pop group JYJ and their former agency SM Entertainment (SME). Three years ago JYJ sued SME to be released from their shockingly unfair 13 year contract and to recover royalties the company had been avoiding paying them. The saga that ensued is a lurid tale of greed, corruption and abuse of power — a vendetta by SME to destroy the careers of one of S. Korea’s most beloved and respected musical trios. After three years of litigation, it appears that any hope for justice for JYJ is fading in the light of SME’s power, economic might, and its relentless willingness to threaten and bully to get its way. On Sept. 18, 2012, it was announced that the final ruling in the court case was once again postponed, this time indefinitely. The court had announced it was ready to render a verdict, which JYJ fully expected to win, but instead mysteriously announced a return to mediation. Since SM has no intention of settling, the case is now permanently in limbo. For the last 3 years, JYJ have been essentially banned from performing in the national media, on TV and radio, etc. with various media outlets using the unresolved lawsuit as an excuse. Thus, the indefinitely delayed ruling effectively prolongs this illegal ban of JYJ forever. JYJ (Jaejoong, Yoochun and Junsu) were members of one of the most successful singing groups ever, even making it to theGuinness World Records for having the largest official fan club and for being the most photographed celebrities in the world. Despite, such unrivaled success, the press in S. Korea has been oddly silent thus far regarding SME’s pervasive and shocking strategy to ruin JYJ. Please help JYJ and JYJ’s many devoted fans shine a light and bring pressure to bear on this criminal conspiracy and collusion by SME to ruin JYJ. Our mission now is to break through this unfair ban.
Thank you for your anticipated help.

BRAVO! To Team Stand Up 4 JYJ!!!
Thank you so much for taking the initiative to start the MOVEMENT! The Republic Of JYJ has come to life.! 🙂
THANK YOU MIA & ALL THE JYJ3 ADMINS ^___________^ *tossing huge bouquets of roses at your feet*
Tq SU4JYJ team for yr initiative….
yess..SME, korea n japan media need to know world is craving for JYJ music. These talented young men should be allowed to play their music locally n internationally….they are true musician and we love their music..
To respective sir, pls help us to stop the broadcast boycott and pls allowed jyj to play their music freely….
I will definitely send the letter to all of them. I love that you are doing this, as a JYJ and DB5K fan for years I wanted to do something like that ever since that stupid ban took place, so I thank you for taking the initiative and doing this!
I have a question though, when copying the letter, do we have to put the video links separately? Since they won’t be embedded with just copying.
Again thanks a lot for your hard work! Fighting!
@mephmelle
Why not just add the links to the videos after the letter? (just go to the actual YouTube videos and copy/paste the link from your browser) That way, if someone wants to see them, they can just click on the links.
🙂
Thanks, I did that directly after posting my comment ;). I don’t know what was wrong with me to not think of a simple solution. Maybe cause it was late, who knows ;).
Thanks for your reply!
I sent this article as a mail. We need hundreds, thousands mails. So we gonna need more fans to know about this article…
@Sultan Tutaste
Yes! Please spread the word at all the fansites you visit. All fans of JYJ should get involved!
Everybody around the world!
Do you love JYJ? YES
Do you want to stop the oppression against JYJ? YES
Here is your chance! Don’t hesitate!
The boys NEED YOUR HELP.
Fight their oppression!
YOU CAN DO IT!
Send this letter to as many media outlets as you can.
LET’S BAN TOGETHER TO SAVE JYJ!!!
With NBC, there are ‘FEEDBACK TYPE’ to choose from. We should all send to the same ‘type’. Please add specification to achieve expected result. Diversification will reduce effect.
(I have sent to CNN, and stopped at NBC now, waiting for further decision from the organizer. )
@chsccy1
What are the choices for “feedback types”?
@lilibaiyu
Under Feedback types, there are, among others, “Comments,…Story idea…” I think both are suitable? We ought to go to the same category, for better effects.
And ALSO, under “Subjects”, there are: NBCNews.com, Newsletters,…Dateline,…NBC Nightly News….TODAY.. — Which one shall we choose?
@chsccy1
Definitely “Story Idea.” that’s the one I’ve been choosing so far. Thanks for bringing this up. I’ll think of a way to include that somehow….
@lilibaiyu
And to choose NBCNews.com?
@chsccy1
I think BOTH nbcnews.com and Dateline. Nightly News is too packed with national headlines and TODAY is happy-talk fluff.
@lilibaiyu
For unification purposes (as to achieve better effect), shouldn’t there be a notice on such specifications? ‘Today’ and ‘Story ideas’?
(I just sent to NBCNews.com; Guess I should send it again to Today? I’ll wait for a formal notice.)
@chsccy1
No, not TODAY. Send it again to Dateline. I will ask the team what kind of distinction should be made as to choices in sending.
Dear Admin,
Please delete my previous comment. lilibaiyu says ‘NBCNews’ and ‘Dateline’, not ‘Today’; my mistake. And can you insert the following instead:
—–
@lilibaiyu
For unification purposes (as to achieve better effect), shouldn’t a choice be made between ‘NBCNews’ and ‘Dateline’ now? Will the organizer be more specific?
@chsccy1
“For unification purposes (as to achieve better effect), shouldn’t a choice be made between ‘NBCNews’ and ‘Dateline’ now? Will the organizer be more specific?”
No, not necessarily a choice. Not for NBC. These are both important. Email both asddresses.
Already done it~!! JYJ Fighting.. All Fan Fighting~!! Let’s do this for our beloved JYJ !! 😀
Reblogged this on rhapsodyofdamsel and commented:
Korea media ban The One and Only Talented Idol Group. They are kinda silly.
i did the above……copy, paste and sent it to the above links…i believe it should be done as many times as possible to get the attention of these reliable and dependable international media centers…..why not try sending this to ellen degeneres show as well? hoping this could go viral like PSY’s gangnam…fingers crossed
@Jersey Sun
Yes, yes, yes! Do anything you can do. Anything you can think of. We need the fans’ creative thinking on this. We need people to think of things we haven’t thought of. This is a fluid fan project, aiming at a BIG GOAL. Let’s make a miracle happen for JYJ.
done! ^^
Have sent out all the mails~~~
@killerjj
Thanks you so much EVERYONE who is sending emails and participating in our project. WE APPRECIATE YOU!
Done , And wish for the best.
1. But I strongly suggest fans simultaneously help revamp all search tags for JYJ in all servers.
Because SM has fully grasped worldwide web portals, 99% website , searching will all direct to SM own artists,
and they have all the ” bloggers”, ” editors” have front page, feature page for all their news, no matter how trivial the news are.
Fabricated all ” not true” news in overseas portals.
** recomment further readings, pics 99% all SM.
2.JYJ news mostly suppressed , or put to bottom layers, never eyes catching. Take Jaejoong 17th BIFF as example. His brought his new movie “Code name: Jackal ” to the Busan ceremony on red carpet. But his news was less exposed than SM Suju & fx ( who without any movie) on the less important blue carpet! ( consider Jae was invited on red carpet and spent 3 days at BIFF)
When you search 17th BIFF you can find the ugly truth! This applied to western & eastern portals.
@glacial.music.
Agree with you.
I sincerely support this action . But need to prove that:
1. For SK govt, they are neglecting countries of fans who bring parallel income to SK.
2. Numbers of , and specific mass media ( online & offline ) , portals who constantly boycotting JYJ news. ( windows portals to overseas fans eg. 6 Theory, allkpop, dispatch,
sina to the Asia mkts etc) . Domestic & international tv stations ( KBS, Thai true vision etc).
Must point out clear, the oppression by these long term bullying , push JYJ to a death corner. All their effort gone with the wind. And without the popularity, they fail to earn much income other than singing. ( eg. advertisement, SM advertisement + idols
appearance at TV, commercial occasions , merchandise build up 70% of SM income)
(***Which means JYJ lost 70% of their income just by bully boycotting by it and its conspiring mass media. )
3. Must point out besides SM , UAE also a conspiring big evil. (United Asia Management and other joint ventures). Why all Korean artists concerts fee so high and similar ?
who made the policy? why all products cost very expensive? why smaller labels can’t survive in the market? why it is so difficult for JYJ to run a concert in Korea, in China, Taiwan, HK…….SG , Malay…. The Oppression is NOT just not allowed to promote at local Korea TV or radio stations. But all the productions JYJ want to make, a CD, a book, a T- shirt, whatever . They have been deprived for a chance to have a cheaper logistics supply chain. Must PROVE SM is playing a monster monopoly game, just like Windows IE in the past.
4. SM has targeted scandal & debt bearing veteran artists to join their corp. So as to
extend to acting & variety shows biz quick.
Reminder:
————-
1.SM was set up in 1995, had help SK govt surviving after 1997 serious monetary crisis.
And keep on providing community service for it, eg. sent SNSD performed at boot camp in 2011 x’mas to boost soldiers morale.
2.SM help SK earn the most foreign currency, bring in a lot overseas new customers in tourism, hallyu.
That is why SK govt and cultural ministry, TV stations favor SM so much. Help it bully JYJ.
Fans must CONVINCE them why they need to do something against their cash cow & public Relation machine SM.
Sent it to all four. I wish every JYJ fan does this. We can’t do much to help them with this ordeal but we can at least try to help anyway we can.
I hope a lot, lot, LOT of fans participate! ^^
Is this the same as the ‘Standup4JYJ’ project? Or a separate one?
@chsccy1
This is the first task of the Standup4JYJ project.
one, ill be doing this everytime i get the chance to online….
JYJ fighting…..
GUYS!! VOTE HERE!!
http://www.i-m.co/fet888/BestOfKorea/vote-here
Thank you for the project! I participated as suggested… and currently contemplating posting the information on my blog (Japanese).
One clarification request regarding the multiple entry comments above… If the same letter was to be sent numerous times from the same IP address, wouldn’t that cause the important message to be disregarded as SPAM? I want to help JYJ, but I am not sure if posting the same letter by the same person multiple times would send the right message, and I would like to get the organizer’s opinion on this, if possible… as you know, JYJ members are EXTREMELY POLITE… and I would like to follow their example when we are standing up for them.
Am I the only person who thinks that the letter should be sent only once by a person to as many venues as possible… but by as many people as possible? Or is sending the same letter multiple times to the same venue by the same person considered normal, acceptable and necessary practice to get the “number” effect needed in the U.S.? I am asking this, because I really don’t know about how the U.S. media works, but I really would like to help JYJ without tarnishing their image!!
Thank you very much for your help!!
@Jay
Thank you for participating. I’ll pass your concerns on to the other admins, as I don’t know about this. If you can help with translations we would be extremely grateful. We want to be able to reach as many fans in their language as we can. That goes for anyone else reading this – any language of any country where JYJ is even remotely popular, please contact Standup4JYJ at http://www.standupforjyj.com/contact/ or me directly at mischka24@hotmail.com or on my twitter @Sapphire_Ann if you can help. Thank you again Jay. 🙂
@Jay
Fans are meant to send the letter only once & not spam. Sorry we didn’t make this clear.
Thank you very much for your clarification . I will put it up on my Japanese blog today…. I don’t have too many readers, but all those people who visit my blog are dying to do something to help JYJ perform.
I am extremely thankful to all those people who organized this project! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!
@Jay
“Am I the only person who thinks that the letter should be sent only once by a person to as many venues as possible… but by as many people as possible?”
Yes, that is the correct usage of the template letter. Each person sends it one time to each provided link. (Or you can research your own additional news and entertainment companies to send it to.) And keep in mind: if you want to change the template letter, you can. It’s really meant to be a help for people who are not confident of their English fluency. It covers all the points we want to get out there. There will be no problem of course for media outlets to get the letter multiple times from different senders. This is done all the time by outreach campaigns of various kinds.
Thanks so much for helping and for commenting!
🙂
Hi, sorry to bother you again… Regarding Anderson Cooper’s e-mail address… I just wanted to make sure that this was not his regular office e-mail address… I would hate to SPAM his regular business e-mail… and I have not sent my letter to him yet.
I just finished translating the letter into Japanese, and I was going to leave off the Anderson Coopers’ e-mail address, because I do not want to take any misstep that could potentially harm JYJ.
I looked up anderson coopers’ web site, and it showed a link for sending E-Mail as below…
http://www.andersoncooper.com/page/email/
Now, it may end up at the same place as the one that was on this project link… but I could someone please reconfirm if the address for Anderson Cooper posted on the project site is appropriate for our purpose?
I am sorry for being a pest here, but standing up for JYJ and protecting JYJ’s clean image that they had worked so hard for is something that I cannot take lightly. I live and breathe for JYJ to perform freely in music industry in Korea and in Japan! …and I really appreciate your help!!
@jay
Hi Jay… you’re not going to send Anderson Cooper a letter in Japanese, are you?
This is indeed his email contact info: http://www.andersoncooper.com/page/email/
Thank you very much for the e-mail address confirmation!
(RE: “you’re not going to send Anderson Cooper a letter in Japanese, are you?”
No, I won’t be sending him any letter in Japanese. My translation was only for my blog so that my Japanese readers who wish to participate sending the template in English would understand what they are sending^^)
Thanks again!
@Jay
lol No, thank YOU so so much for your efforts and for your interest. It’s people like you who will be responsible for finally freeing JYJ from the quagmire they are currently bogged down in. It’s up to the fans now. Actually, I think it always was in the fans’ hands. SM needs to sell product to survive. If they think for one minute they can’t do with sufficient numbers they will alter their course. All fans need to do is rise up in enough numbers to convince them that it will benefit their bottom line more to be FINISHED with the JYJ fiasco. That’s ALL we need to do.
And I think if enough of us get involved and rattle enough cages, we can do it.
🙂
Sent it to all 4! 😉
sent it to all the websites alr ! hwaiting !
I want to supplement a recent DOCUMENTARY / historical tv program , co-produced by Korea KBS tv & China CCTV : Miracle of Han River 汉江奇迹, which was broadcasted on 24/8/2012 in China CCTV, channel 9, and 27/08/2012 KBS respectively.
Pls pay attention to 19:05 – 20:49 From SM / SM C & C CEO – Kim , have more answers:
1. They filmed this tv program which was dishonest to history. DBSK was not a band of 2 men only.
They failed to use back historical pic/ movie clips to tell the truth.
2. KBS can’t search any news about JYJ. But this is one of the biggest TV station in Korea.
3. Why US , Britain , Asian money drained to hallyu-SM so fast and vast ?
4. How hallyu-SM shape sthe ideology for the youth of US, Britain, Asia ? and how web portals feed them like ducks?
5. How aggressive is hallyu – SM in US & Britain , Asia markets?
6. Who should you talk to if any question about Korea govt ? Answer: SM Nation. ( as their flag hoisted in Jun & Aug 2012, this brand is no joke, it is Imperial and nickname is South Korea).
( nothing offensive, just an opinion)
Thanks for sharing this documentary about the history of K-Pop and the Korean Wave. I learned a lot about the whole industry of Korean music, which I did not know. I was amazed that some K-Pop groups train for four or more years before they make their debut. Very interesting documentary.
@ShirleyUSA
Appreciate for your patience to watch the whole episode. Which is non- entertaining & a bit boring.
And yes, in the past, K-pop idols groups spent at least 3 years or more to become fully eligible to be idols.
( ** for Junsu, he spent 6 years, due to his vocal sickness during voice transformation)
And all the training with the agency companies ARE DEBT BEARING.
All the co- performance no money reward.
This documentary program contains 3 episode, each one represent one important country income of S. Korea.
That is why hallyu producers become rulers of the industry, the idols / artists , which are Labor only in the rulers’ eyes.
@aurora;
Could you post the other two episodes or tell me where I can see them on YouTube? Thank you
ATTENTION JYJ FANATICS !
Please vote for our JYJ at http://www.i-m.co/fet888/BestOfKorea/vote-here.html
Done!! =)
I will be sending this to all of those places posted i really hope that this does change things over there

How about a petition to SM? I recall the petition for T-ara a while back and that had a scary effect… But unfortunately alot of SM stars are very popular so its hard to boycott them… I am just sad when I see DBSK on Music core etc becos it just reminds me of how unfair the situation is! GRRRRR…
Yes,I’m ready.Let’s fight for JYJ.If SM rules in SK,let’s break that rule.Let the world know how bad SM and SK treat their own artists who contribute so much for their country.
No idea if it will help but also sent this to Metro.co.uk, a free UK newspaper that featured an article on Psy a while back. In it they mentioned Junsu “from boyband JYJ” and how fans had put GPS trackers on his car. (T.T About the only time JYJ members have ever been mentioned in a newspaper in my country)
@charlieparrot9
Thank you for your help. Everyone please feel free to send this letter out to anyone media you can think of. We want to reach as many people as possible. Thank you everyone 😀
Done..
About the e-mail address of Anderson Cooper ,ADM I think you must check it back again,I couldn’t get in…
And about the vids,I think we must get the link from UT,right,and add it on the letter ..Because it will not go together with the photo letter ,if we just coppy and paste…
IMPORTANT!
Hi Folks,
I’m trying to compile some data about JYJ. I need the names of any reporters who have written stories and the Korean law professor who has written about them in the past. Does anyone here know where I can get that information?
@Lili

Korean Popular Culture Colloquium Series presents…. Prof. Seung-ah Lee (LACC) “OF THE FANS, BY THE FANS, FOR THE FANS: THE REPUBLIC OF JYJ”
Department: East Asian Lang. & Literatures
The nationalist celebrations behind K-pop hide uncomfortable and troubled reality of the Korean entertainment industry. Far from being a paradise for aspiring young artists, SM Entertainment is a powerful industrial machinery that maintains complete control over the products it manufactures—the dancing and singing teenage boys and girls who are carefully marketed as “idol groups.” Prof. Lee’s lecture examines the JYJ fandom as an emerging social movement and analyzes both the mechanisms and logics internal to this movement.
@A Friend Of JYJ
Thanks my friend. I’ve now saved it for future reference because I hope my article won’t be the only thing I write about the banning of JYJ but unfortunately this time I had to send off the article as the editor was clamoring for it and I couldn’t put it off any more. I will include the info in future things though. And I think I’ll quote a bit of it on the SU4JYJ Facebook page.
Here’s an article I read this morning. Today it only made me mad that anyone has anything good to say about SM’s practice of turning talented energetic young people into little more than performing circus animals. Because that’s what SM’s acts are, they are like animals: trained to sing and dance and owned lock, stock and barrel by the company.

Oh, yes please!! Thank you so much. I am in the process of compiling my own fact archive and I need all kinds of things with specifics. As I was writing this article I found that I didn’t know many dates or have documentation for certain specific details.
For instance, someone here on JYJ3 last week quoted the now-president of SM (I think) as saying, “We make all of the investment in these kids so we should make all the profits if they are successful.” I would dearly love to see where and when he said that but now I can’t find it!
Can anybody help me? I think it might even have been in a video.

“Speaking of which did you see this also. Same Author from the New Yorker >> Extolling has status as a PERVERT AJUSSI!!”
Yes, I saw it. I even halfway started to watch the LSM lecture he gave at Stanford University (if you can IMAGINE!!!!!!) but I just couldn’t bring myself to look at him, let alone listen to his fractured English.
NOTE: Two headlines 10 YEARS APART>> NOTHING HAS CHANGED

ITS BEEN 10 YEARS AND NOTHING HAS CHANGED >>> The systematic corruption of the South Korean Music system continues and right in the middle of it all is SME.
Here is the link to the story… AGAIN This was 10 years ago and it seems AT THAT TIME South Koreaan justice system was willing to investigate and go after the abusers… Yet here are in 2012 and it seems the corruption is now so entrenched that SK legal system has turned a blind eye>

I got a general email response from BBC and Cnn. I wonder what happened to the other two. I hope there will be at least 100 email jyj fans senders so that those media companies will do immediate investigation on the matter. :DDD
Email sent to CNN, NBC, & BBC; still trying to send off an email to Mr. Cooper.
Thanks so much for the letter template, links, and the whole project.
SU4JYJ & JYJ fighting!
I didn’t send mine to Mr. Cooper because the address “looks like” his regular business e-mail address… and I didn’t want to take a chance to have JYJ have any part in SPAM…
The website shows the place to send e-mail is:

If the above address is correct, I hope admin could change the posted e-mail address on the article soon! 🙂
Hi @Jay, thanks for the link! That’s actually the page I’ve been trying to access, but my computer is running a little slow this evening. 🙂
Anyone else writing to the link @Jay posted, the box only allows 1500 characters, so you’ll have to try to condense your letter/links, if possible.
can you help me with a form of a msg to send to Mr. cooper, bz I can’t use the one above bz it exceeded the 1500 word
Dear Sir
I wish to highlight an issue currently plaguing the S. Korean music industry. This concerns the ongoing lawsuit between the massively successful pop group JYJ (making it to Guinness World Records for having the largest official fan club & for being the world’s most photographed celebrities) and their former agency SM Entertainment (SME). Three years ago, JYJ sued SME to nullify their shockingly unfair 13 year contract, and to recover royalties payments SME had been avoiding. The saga that ensued is a lurid tale of greed, corruption and abuse of power — a vendetta by SME to destroy the careers of S. Korea’s beloved musical trios. After three years of litigation, it appears that any hope for justice for JYJ is fading in light of SME’s economic might. On Sept. 18, 2012, it was announced that the final ruling was once again postponed, this time indefinitely. The court had announced it was ready to render a verdict, which JYJ fully expected to win, but instead mysteriously announced a return to mediation. SM has no intention of settling and the case is now permanently in limbo. JYJ has been essentially banned from performing in the national media with various media outlets using the unresolved lawsuit as excuse. Press in S. Korea has been oddly silent thus far regarding SME’s pervasive strategy to ruin JYJ by putting on an illegal ban. Please help JYJ and their devoted fans shine a light on this criminal conspiracy by SME. Thank you for your anticipated help.
There you go!
I’m sure that they would perform their own investigations – investigative journalism ya’know!

Thanks again everyone for participating. 😀

i sent to bbc, cnn, and nbc!
thanks for suggesting this project even though i can help in the small things but im happy
@babySUisbabyDolphine
Once again, THANK YOU to everyone who has participated so far. If you were ever in doubt that the fans MUST stand up now and demand an end to this banning of JYJ what just happened to Junsu last night at the Para Games thanks to SBS should remind you. — this is serious and it’s not going away by itself. Since the court will do nothing, the fans must.
@babySUisbabyDolphine
Thank you for your help. Big or small, every little bit helps 😀
Yup…sent!!
hooray for doing this project for our JYJ…
Keep on rock JYJ..!!
Love u guys..!!
Keep in faith…!!
Keep on Faith Guys..!!
Keep Rockin Guys..!!
Show them JYJ is the best!!
Perfect example is what they did to Junsu tonite. He was the last performer at the Para Games Opening ceremony and his performace was not shown. TOTAL DISRESPECT! This is why we have to step up our game and Standup for JYJ!! I am soooo pissed right now. gotta go cool off.
Done. Especially after SBS’s antics just now ㅜㅜ
Done…!!! Hope.. it can help JYJ freedom
What about contacting people in the music industry in the US who have already worked with JYJ & are established in the business, they have their connections & they might be able to help and probably make the difference in this case.
We all know how prestigious and important SK holds appearance & success in the US.
YG is trying now to push all his group in the US after Psy’s prompt & sudden success. JYP have been trying for years, also SM with their trials as well. If someone can contact those people who worked with JYJ directly not through twitter or facebook, & ask them for help maybe that could work.
Some of the people I can think of; Rodney Jerkins, Kanye, Malik Youseg, Bruce automatice, Jerru Slaughter.
What do you guys think???
Absolutely!! Anyone you can think of!
Please publish some more sites where we can email and expose SM’s dirty tricks. Thanks.
@Honorie De Vera
Did you check the website? I think there are a lot of them there.
http://www.standupforjyj.com/
Done 😀 U gonna go down SM and SBS
this is correct..3 years has been more than enough for JYJ to just accept whatever is being thrown at them by the unjust company.Why should cassie be denied the only way to see them while others fans with their artists dont?Time to make things happen again for JYJ
What about emailing Al Jazeera (english)?
They have the 101 East Program, and they’ve talked about kpop and the industry before (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8tyEsOtV0FY&feature=player_embedded). Kpop was discussed on other programs as well (I can’t remember which one EYC was invited to, but it was interesting).
I think if we sent them all of this info, they may be inclined to report it (especially with the recent focus on SK ent.). I don’t think they necessarily sidestepped issues in the previous story, but rather none of this was the main focus before.
I THINK this is the best way to contact them (searched all over the website, but I’m also half asleep right now):
Go to this page- http://www.aljazeera.com/aboutus/2006/11/2008525184028476209.html
Click on the “Send Your Feedback” button, and fill in the blanks. At the beginning of your letter, you should state that you want to see a story about this issue (aka big entertainment Co’s all up in SK media’s business…and gov’t doing nothing).
@animetiger
“What about emailing Al Jazeera (english)?”
OK, thanks for the links. I just sent a message off to them.
🙂
Try to do it tomorrow , thank you!
Done! I hope we can get more fans to participate and I really wish we can start to make a difference. I’m feed up with them being banned.
Sent 🙂 And will be spreding this
I’m not what you would call a kpop fan (I’m what you would call a kdrama addict), I mean I don’t buy their albums, I don’t go to their concerts, I don’t write letters, nor do I make donations in their names but I’m always rooting for the underdog, and I think JYJ has gotten the short end of the stick. I first started watching JYJ through youtube and I find their repertoire refreshing. Other kpop idols (not artist) always answer questions like robots, without any spontaneity. But JYJ has this refreshing quality that makes them likable overseas, I like that their not always serious, that they can make fun of themselves and they just mesh as a group.
My point is this, since the Korean wave is taking off around the world because of PSY why not take advantage of the publicity and inform other mediums of the unfairness of the Korean music industry (not just SME). If you target only SME and JYJ, your limiting the victims. There must be other victims out there. You might also want to send your plea to other shows such as Good Morning American, MTV, Today Show, Ellen, Oprah…etc. Don’t just limit yourselves to the news.
The other victims will not speak up when they are asked or interviewed. They fear the invisible hand too much. So they will not solidify our case. It doesn’t hurt to try though.
Discrimination against human right at 32th para game in Korea. Let’s protest to boycott Korea to host :
2014 2nd Asian Para Games – South Korea , Incheon
2018 Winter Olympics – South Korea , Pyeongchang.

about another artist who join other agency, here the example.. CSJH Stephanie.. she stated her self on twitter that she never left SM.. it means she’s still under SM right now.. and u can read in this article that she joined forces with Media Line Entertainment to prepare for her new solo, SM Entertainment GAVE RIGHTS to produce her album >> http://www.allkpop.com/2012/10/csjhs-stephanie-releases-solo-debut-mv-game-single-the-new-beginning (we can say, its joined project right? even though, SM seems doesnt care about her solo too, i mean i didnt see other SM artist *except her member* who supporting her on twitter or other, even her MV is out from other channel not SMTOWN)
so it means it doesnt matter if JYJ joined CJes (and they won alr in the court, they’re free from SM)…
and then u still remember JTL (from H.O.T) and Shinhwa?? they have similarity problem… their problems end up in the court..
well, Shinhwa are free now to appear on TV, but u know right they should pay some money to SM for getting right to use Shinhwa name, etc ?
about JTL, it said that their real problem with SM havent finished yet until now actualy (i read on wikipedia, CMIIW)
beside them, there’re other artists too that having problem with SM and it seems its not easy to solve it after that…
(but i dont know with hangeng, it seems SM doesnt care about him… not like JYJ or JYJ sunbaenim in SM before)
@chocostrawberry
hi, for Hangeng, SM ” CARES ” , it uses EXO-m & k to rival with him in China.
But Hangeng is not permitted to enter S. Korea again.
About the legal matter, ” seems ” not yet fully completed.
You can see how active SM is in China –
http://www.yinyuetai.com/vchart/trends
And deliberately nominated suju to rival with Hangeng at the ‘Best Asia Act’ at 2012 MTV EMA –
http://forums.allkpop.com/threads/super-junior-wants-your-vote-for-%E2%80%98best-asia-act%E2%80%99-at-2012-mtv-ema.50720/
** this already caused suju fans controversial debate. And most probably, SM will lobby some votes to help PSY. And opt out Han geng as the 3rd.
( just saying)
JYJ i can’t wait to see again your performance on TV!! But it’s okay as long as they can perform for their fans, I’ll always love JYJ!! Please, for all statasiun tv, don’t take advantage JYJ just for the sake of your own! JYJ’s also human beings with feelings, please cherish feelings of JYJ!
I will ALWAYS do what I can to help our boys. This is something that fans NEED to work together on. And not just JYJ fans, but any fan that doesn’t want to see their artist(s) suffer at the hands of some greedy corporates.
SBS & Para Game organizer bullied JYJ Junsu , neglecting all public interest,
This tv station unreasonable censor the public interest, offended human right, in some countries, this kind of TV station
will be fined with heavy penalty and telecommunication warning.
*** same sentence as wrong TV news report, or improper broadcasting ( fallen of Rupert Murdoch empire, and other Asia real cases)
*** Repeated this mistake will BE SUSPENDED for the TV station license immediately. Because it is the society who assigns
the radio channel for the TV station, it is on RENEWABLE contract, and with strict supervision.
*** in the future, SBS can CENSOR whatever it wants to, EDIT the news BEFORE reporting to the world. ( this TV station got world channel too) . This is seriously breach of mass media code of ethic!
*** The world needs fact report.
Must states it clearly in their facebook and home page.

@JYJ global listener
I posted two comments on SBS FB page yesterday protesting what they did and they were both removed in less than a minute. lol I guess it’s all happy, mindless oogling of scantily clad young ladies and well-behaved Idols who know their place, lower their eyes and keep on dancing.
It is KBS not SBS , isn’t it??
KBS has done this continuously…. but this is the last straw coz this is a sports event that’s supposed to highlight the athletes
drive, determination and competitive spirit in a fair and equal opportunity environment which is what all sports events are about!!.
1.To blatantly disregard this spirit of equal opportunity and fairplay is discrimination of basic human rights….
2.The relevant ministries/govt. has quietly condoned this blatant discrimination and not protect its citizen’s rights,
3.These citizens contribute enormously in terms of economic, cultural, tourism as well asputting S. Korea
on the entertainment world map, Guiness Book of Records, etc.
Based on the above reasons, I am all for using South Korea’s qualification to host the 2014 Para Games
and the 2018 Winter Olympics, as leverage for justificitaion of our request in lifting the broadcasting ban for JYJ…
I hope someone can help me get the email address pf the Korean Ministriy of Sports, Tourism and Culture,
so that we can put in a more concerted effort if agreeable….(I don’t read Korean)
(Personally meanwhile, I’m writing and will mail it to Minister Choe Kwang Chik to the Ministry’s
address at 215 Changgyeonggung-ro, Jongno-gu, Seoul, 110-360)

i think it would be nice if someone send Op-Ed piece to the New York Times. They accept opinion articles on any topic and its one of the most well known newspaper in USA. http://www.nytimes.com/content/help/site/editorial/op-ed/op-ed.html
i am just throwing ideas around.
@jyjinfinitetimeturner
“i think it would be nice if someone send Op-Ed piece to the New York Times.”
I just sent them the Asia Sentinel piece so maybe they’ll reprint that. 🙂
Sorry but that isn’t going to work. One of their requirements is: “We will not consider articles that have already been published in print or online.”
@jyjinfinitetimeturner
Yeah, I know, I got an email back from them yesterday saying that. Oh well, it was worth a shot. Actually, I’m thinking of writing something else now, based on the below article and then tying it in to what happened to Junsu:
http://www.time.com/time/world/article/0,8599,2056115,00.html?xid=tweetbut
Pretty amazing article and can you believe it? 10 years later, NOTHING has changed!
Fighting!!!!!
Done …the least I can do. JYJ FIGHTING!!!!
Done! ^^. I hope this project will make things easier for JYJ! Fighting!
>>>> 10 Years Ago A Story was published in Time Magazine about corruption in the K-pop industry.
The story highlights SME and Lee Su Man and his part in the corruption.
ITS BEEN 10 YEARS AND NOTHING HAS CHANGED >>> The systematic corruption of the South Korean Music system continues and right in the middle of it all is SME.
Here is the link to the story… AGAIN This was 10 years ago and it seems at that time South Korea justice system was willing to investigate and go after the abusers… Yet here are in 2012 and it seems the corruption is now so entrenched that SK legal system has turned a blind eye>

@A Friend Of JYJ
hahahaha I just posted it again, above. 🙂 Really that thing is just jam-packed with the kind of background material I need. I mean, imagine — there was actually a full-scale investigation of massive, big money bribery back then between the music industry and the television stations’ big executives! Well, I guess we can now stop wondering what SM can possibly have on the TV stations to make them compromise themselves this way, betraying the public trust as they are.
It’s Simple Greed, alive and well in 2012.
Does this ban include internet???
Why doesn’t JYJ make a website and do a weekly or whenever video show of their own? PLUS, they can try hard to upload as much as they can to backup sites like facebook, youtube, etc in case of filtering. It could be even a documentary of how work is like in the music and/or acting, with their control of how much personal life they want to include.
We fans LOVE watching anything JYJ. They could easily get random fans from anywhere to volunteer for their random games like Running Man does. It doesn’t have to include celebrities and because of that it’s even MORE funny and entertaining. JYJ are so darn funny by themselves and I bet they could easily think of scripts. TV concerts, heck I’ll listen to them acapella without the flashy lights. This will make them more relatable as a person and people will sympathize them rather than think of them as “untouchable” celebrities. Perhaps, get non-fans to actually realize how much they have to endure all these years and then SM will slowly crumble.
Most people have internet these days and I myself don’t even have a TV (I have kids). If people like what they see, they will past on videos to others. It’s easier to share a link among many than make people watch tv at a particular time and day. Best thing is it can be seen anytime any day because it’s permanently online unlike TV. They could EASILY get paid for advertising on their website because they have a big fanbase to market to AND keep all profits to themselves. FORGET broadcasting and make yourself seen in their own way! The best way to make yourself known is the fans and when we like something, we make sure our friends see it too!!
SENT! Will do everything to help JYJ!

Done! Thank you!
It looks like ABC Nightline will be featuring a clip about SME. We should send one to them too… but I don’t know the email address to send it to. If someone figures it out, I would be happy to send it to them.
This is what I found when I checked out the ABC News site for their various shows. The tag for Nightline is already in the box for shows. Hope this helps.

Well of course their best foot forward was shown. And let’s not kid ourselves, the pre-interview discussion of what would be covered did not include information on the hardships involved. It still looked too good to be true. 🙂
Oh, and least we forget, $3B USD equivalent, IS NOT GOING TO THE ARTISTS! Too bad she didn’t make mention of that.
@BAF
“Well of course their best foot forward was shown. And let’s not kid ourselves, the pre-interview discussion of what would be covered did not include information on the hardships involved. It still looked too good to be true.”
Still, it concerns me that their “re-branding” is proceeding along this fast with NO ONE saying anything or doing any homework on the company before they film and broadcast frankly misleading propaganda like this. I tweeted Terry Moran and the show itself the other day and just said, “So much for checking into the truth of a story beforehand, huh?”
Apparently, U.S reporters have gotten as lazy as their Asian counterparts. If SM loudly repeats over and over enough times that they are the innovative leader of the Hallyu Wave, reporters seem to be going, “Oh, OK. Let’s go with that then.”
I think the reason for this is that frankly they needed something to fill up the time with. I saw the ABC News video and it wasn’t a serious look into Korean pop-culture….AT ALL. It even seemed to fall on the typical Asian stereotypes. Many silly things…..The reporter made fun of herself while trying to keep up with a bunch of youngsters. Sang off-key etc etc. Can’t even get mad at that cause clearly this was never meant to be serious coverage of anything. She didn’t lie but she didn’t go any deeper either. Doesn’t escape my notice that they sent an Asian reporter who can’t even speak Korean to cover this.
I read the TIME article a while back and I read it again just now. (Thanks for reminding me!) I was surprised that TIME did not skirt away from the issues- the horrible pressure, fans who can’t respect privacy, the brutal 6 month “100 concert” tour with a “break” where they must record a new album (what kind of break is that?!!), the unfair pay etc etc. and off course the juicy briberies. A 3 minute video from ABC News can’t compete.
@retrokim
“I think the reason for this is that frankly they needed something to fill up the time with. I saw the ABC News video and it wasn’t a serious look into Korean pop-culture….AT ALL. ”
Yeah, I know and I realize that I am way over-sensitized right now because I’ve been doing all of this research in the last couple of weeks, I’ve read through at least 4 or 5 years of dirt about SM from innumerable sources and so I guess my head is kind of spinning at this point. This is one BAD BAD company though. They should be getting driven out of business at this point, not lionized and televised in the U.S.! And then there’s all the people in SK who don’t want their precious little K-Pop dreamboat rocked or their pension checks to stop arriving every month. At least for that second group, I’m in sympathy. I don’t want anything to happen to those people either, especially when the chief perpetrator Lee Soo Man can always just conveniently flee the country again and hole up in his multi-million dollar digs in L.A. And believe me, from all I know about him, he would NEVER LOOK BACK. (Think Enron execs.)
@lilibaiyu
Pensions are tough but I actually don’t know just how much sympathy I can have for this particular lot. I’m assuming the majority of these people are 30 and over, old enough to remember LSM if Intepol asked for him, J.T.L, Prosecutor’s Office etc etc. To KNOW what kind of scumbag he is. I find it hard to believe that us “foreigners” know more about how rickety this company is rather than natives and in fact I doubt it completely since we have all this info thanks to Korean sources. Don’t prison systems also have stock here?
Anyways, it seems we have moods in sync. I don’t think I’ve done the research you have but I went back on this site to refresh my memory. I have many questions and my biggest frustration is my linguistic barrier. I just can’t fully trust things unless I can understand them for myself. There are times where I read 5 different translations of the same freaking thing or I read something and go….what kind of crappy English is this “translator” using? This is an extremely frustrating situation and I seriously feel for you.
I just wish I could speak to JYJ themselves but my Korean sucks and they are probably very cautious around fans and for good reason. The fans will protect them but that doesn’t mean they are going to open up about what exactly went down in that company. Remember that stupid stint where the PO asked for Interpol’s help and then they replaced the lead prosecutor with some other person and the case got cold? Lee Soo Man came back confidently after his escape to the U.S. That was in 2003. I wonder if JYJ ever knew about this. Did they even care at the time?
My VS Sister, news journalism is not what it used to be. And this clearly was a fluff piece. The days of putting something on the air to ‘educate’ people are long gone. Now, pretty much what we have is ‘informerical’ journalism. The pickings are really slim when it comes to finding a source that puts out ‘real’ information.
As @retrokim states, this was not meant to be anything more than an airtime filler. But like anything else, once the bloom is off the rose, then the real picture will come forth. It’s just a matter of time.
@retrokim
“Pensions are tough but I actually don’t know just how much sympathy I can have for this particular lot. I’m assuming the majority of these people are 30 and over, old enough to remember LSM if Intepol asked for him, J.T.L, Prosecutor’s Office etc etc.”
If you have about 2 hours of free time, have a gander down the length of this puppy.
http://jyjtimeline.wordpress.com/
It’s edifying/ depressing reading in light of what is happening right now. Apparently, as close as I can quantify it, the majority of S. Koreans would rather believe in the burgeoning economic benefits of SM’s carefully scripted version of the all-conquering Hallyu Wave, that door opener that will signal their true emergence into the top echelon of economic world players going forward into the next decade. SM talks a great game, no question, and it’s MUCH easier to just sit back, eat the Soma and believe the hype than to do the research and get a whiff of the king-sized rat in their midst.
Thank you friend! I’ll read all of it.
@retrokim
“I just wish I could speak to JYJ themselves but my Korean sucks and they are probably very cautious around fans and for good reason. ”
Yes, anywhere and everywhere SM is concerned, THE FIX IS IN. They learned long ago to work hardest behind the scenes, to co-opt anyone they could, to generously pay off the top cats. Let’s face it — they have the cash on hand to do it; they don’t pay their artists’ squat and all that money is probably burning a hole in their corporate pockets. This is the strength of a thoroughly dishonest and criminally focussed company: Everyone there is completely onboard with every slimy move they make. They are ALL in on it.
Even today, as much as I know about this rogue criminal enterprise, I have to say their maneuvers shock me. They are like the Moonies, they are like Jim Jones and those poor deluded people in Guyana. Honest to God my friends we need to make SOMEBODY aware of what is going on there.
i have sent around 15 emails and will send more tomorow
@jackie w
THANK YOU!! 🙂
Has anyone written to the south Korean government who should be the owners of the stations?
