With the rise of ‘I Miss You’ on Wed-Thurs primetime drama time, the similarities between the two leading men has been noted by the netizens.
While the ending of the drama ‘Nice Guy’ has sent its follow-up ‘Jeon Woo Chi’ to the top with 13.2% ratings, ‘Nice Guy’ is in hot pursuit with the latest ratings showing 11% ratings.
This ascent of ‘I Miss You’ has also been noted for its similarities with the ascent of ‘Nice Guy’.
Firstly, the two dramas are staying true to their titles. With the rise in popularity of the drama ‘Nice Guy’, Song Joong-ki has become the nation’s ‘Nice Guy’. With the 5th episode of the ‘I Miss You’, and the emergence of the adult actors, the drama has sent the fans chanting ‘I Miss You’. The appearance of the adult actors jumped the ratings up to 11%, while the previous ratings hovered around 6~7%.
The two leading men, on their breakthrough ‘Sungkyunkwan Scandal’ of 2010, had both appeared in a bright and light teen historical-romance. Their appearance in 2012 in a heavy and tragic revenge dramas are also a similarity between them.
‘Nice Guy’ began with a premise of a revenge and a false love, blossoming into a full one, while ‘I Miss You’ ground out a desperate storyline with bullying, rape, kidnapping, and attempted murder from the very beginning.
Whether Park Yoochun can capitalize on his similarities with Song Joong-ki’s ascent to the top of the primetime drama scene is to be expected.

1. [+213, -36] I saw Nice Guy until the last episode and now I’ve started I Miss You. Both dramas seriously have the best visuals ㅋㅋ They’re all great at acting as well. I was a bit worried about Yoochun and Yoon Eun Hye but was pleasantly surprised to see them do well ㅋㅋㅋ Yoon Eun Hye’s crying scene in the bath tub was seriously the best…!!!
2. [+202, -29] They’re both from Sungkyunkwan Scandal!!! I’m glad that the two friends are doing well, I hope they keep it up!!
3. [+187, -24] They’re both handsome in that they look so innocent

The two story lines are not the same at all except that they are both melos.
Micky Yoochun fighting! Powerful acting and hilarious singing! Love you, JYJ member!
MY is more dark n intense compare to NG but MY have more strong characters..I love the way the writer/director create those chars in MY, seriously interesting…who can beat det.Han’s char?he’s crazy, lovely, funny, sadden but very serious in work…I tell this because I can’t even finish watching NG because it’s quite draggy for me..For the chars n storyline, MY is better so let’s pray MY get better in rating as well…Missing you fighting!!!
I’m so happy that after Nice Guy, I have I Miss You to follow, continuous drama entertainment.
The only similarity I see in the two characters is that both undergone heartbreaks in the past but where Maru is always thinking and planning for some hidden agenda, Jung Woo wear his heart on his sleeves, he is so transparent and there is where his charm lies. Jung Woo is child like, more vulnerable to the harsh realities of life. Jung Woo appeals to me more than Maru, not only because he is played by YC but because Joong Woo seems more real, more human. I can empathize with JW more.
I haven’t finished watching ‘Nice Guy’ ’til now so i really am not familiar with its storyline 🙂 it was my first time to watch SJK in SKKS too just like PYC…i’m so proud to see these two handsome and so talented actors in their own dramas now…they really have gone a long way…oh! these two really know how to capture our hearts with their superb acting…with their hardwork and dedication to their craft, i’m sure PYC & SJK will be reaping the fruits of their labors…oh! i’m so glad these two remained friends over the years too 🙂
I really really really loved Nice Guy..am also startin lovin miss you..hopefully MY bcomes hit like NG..MY fighting..PYC fightin
I think the article compares the real world person Park Yoo Chun and Song Joong Ki … rather than the characters they play or the story line …. it is something like parallel theory …. what happens to Song Joong Ki also happens to Yoochun … is that what I understand …. am I right?
my two fav men … =)
