Awesome jj!!im kinda dissapointed to c the sales are decreasing rapidly tho…i hope this album would break the 100k mark!jj fighting!!
It is only been a bit over a week, we still have the rest of the year. Beyond breaking chart records I’m simply happy he took the risk and that his efforts are being appreciated by non-fans and fans alike.
That dip in the numbers is interesting though.
Yup…im very very happy he decided to produce a rock album!i totally love all of the songs…all alone is my fav..with this album i think jj gained more fanboys…bcoz the MV itself it EPIC! I cant stop playing it!!!
LOL! I actually wish the whole group veered in the direction of rock but I have a feeling Junsu would resist. He also has his own style that is different from Yuchun and Jaejoong…..and then they really wouldn’t be k-pop but still…I wish they would explore the rock genre even deeper. Wasn’t Jaejoong teased once because he owned a guitar but never did anything with it?
I like RnB, pop and classic ballads but these genres are in saturation right now. Every group has these kinds of songs so I just wish JYJ (or at least Jaejoong) would introduce more rock into their music. It doesn’t have to be hard rock (urghh…can’t stand hiphop/rap and rock combined. Only one group ever did it right…the Beastie Boys…not Linkin Park/Jay-Z….can’t stand that stuff) so it can be acoustic style until they feel more comfortable and delve deeper. I have so many wishes…T____________________________T
the dip seems like for all those days not just Jaejoong .
his first week sales are really impressive though .
I heard that Jae’s CD is literally out of stock in a lot of stores and on-line sites for the last few days and that may contribute to the sharp drop in sales. Hopefully, the sales will pick up again next week when the CDs are replenished.
That’s what I read also from some of the outlet, and they gave notice that new stocks will only be available the following week.
sorry but i have a question?people on allkpop said JJ solo album is no where on korean mucic chart like melon and Instiz. and s/he said that means korean people doesn’t care or dislike his solo album so my question is did having a no.1 in melon and Instiz. is soo important then hanteo?
Yeah….he was interviewed by MTV Korea and Cyworld music because “korean people doesn’t care or dislike his solo album.”
I’m not trying to lecture you so sorry if it comes off like that but sometimes people have to stop being so naive and paying attention to what some hater on AllKpop says. You visited a page concerning Jaejoong’s solo album right? So now this person who also seems to dislike Jaejoong took his or her time to visit that same page just to claim that Korean people don’t care for Jaejoong’s music. Puh-lease!!!!
Also if you are confused about Hanteo, Gaon, Melon or any other chart you can always look it up on Wikipedia.
“There are two primary charts: Gaon Album Chart and Gaon Single Chart. The charts lists domestic artists’ sales, international artists’ sales and a combined overall sales in weekly, monthly and year-end format.
The Gaon Album Chart ranks physical album sales, including mini-albums. It is complied from offline data provided by record labels and distributors: LOEN Entertainment, Mnet Media, SM Entertainment, Sony Music Korea, Universal Music Korea, and Warner Music Korea.
The Gaon Single Chart ranks best-selling non-physical, digital music sales listed as streaming content, downloads, background music, ringtones, karaoke and a combine overall singles charts, but excludes radio airplay and different versions of a song are listed as separate entries. It is complied from online data provided by web-based music providers: Bugs, Dosirak, Melon, Mnet and Soribada.”
That is all I know. Maybe someone else knows something else but I seriously don’t want this fandom to devolve into this:

This obsession with charts…..
@Lyna and retrokim
Hi my friends – I’ve just spent all afternoon watching the fancams and reading the accounts of that guy nobody in Korea cares about, Kim Jaejoong. The 16,000 people over the 2 days sure did pull the wool over Jaejoong’s eyes pretending how thrilled they were to see him, listen to him sing his unpopular songs from his unpopular new album and generally celebrate being Kim Jaejoong, live and in person for his audience. Apparently there were 200,000 hits on the website for 16,000 available tickets, which all sold out in 10 minutes. More clever subterfuge by an uncaring (but incredibly organized!) fandom, I guess.
But I don’t know…. it sure seemed like his fans were actually his fans and they were really enjoying themselves at this unique, creatively staged and seemingly JOYOUSLY happy event. Which was in Korea. So now I’m thinkin’ maybe that poster on AllKPop was, well, WRONG.
Retrokim above has explained it very well. I just wanted to add that ‘Mine’ actually did chart on the Gaon digital chart – it was #8. That’s pretty impressive considering he could not do any broadcast promotions. I think the issue at hand is that many people did not have a chance to hear the songs. The reviews from critics have been very favorable, so the quality of the album is not in question.
Allkpop has a lot of trolls and haters who somehow enjoy spending their lives spreading lies and causing discord in the news articles. Please take the comments there with a grain of salt (actually, a truckload of salt). Thankfully there seem to be many sensible and dedicated people there as well who will usually rectify the lies quickly.

ok ^^ thanks everyone.
question! does pre-orders count in this cumulative sales?
No. Pre-orders are not the same as final sales. Some people order an album before it comes out and then change their minds and cancel their orders, buy them on i-tunes instead etc etc.
Somebody correct me if I’m wrong. Once the pre-order is shipped, isn’t it reported as part of sales for the day it is shipped?
That’s what I’m aware of, unless whatever cosmic the world turns to, someone change the law, pre ordered shipment counts as sales once shipment is made.
And I’m still waiting for my pre order from yesasia.
Hi @masi, no long, no see. 🙂
I did a pre-order with them as well, paying for express delivery. Mine was shipped the day it was scheduled to drop the 17th, so I’m assuming it went in on the count for that date. Since I paid for speedy delivery it came on the 21st. This shocked me because I was looking for it come at the far end of the 3-5 bus. days. I’ve ordered from them before always with regular delivery, and usually received within a week of the 10-14 bus. day range. Not sure where you’re located, but I’m on the east coast of the U.S.
Its because the his cd’s are running out of stock in a lot of physical stores. Hopefully next week it will pick up again or stable out and coast so eventually we will get there.
But to put things in perspective Jaejoong outsold a lot of kpop groups in his first week what they couldn’t get in a year. Considering that alone Jae is kicking butt, and will be rewarded for his hard work.
I’m happy that his solo album is getting praised for the lyrics, vocals and arranging. A lot of casual listener’s are appreciating and buying his music, enjoying his mv, and talking up his live vocals in concert. Notice I didn’t specify Kpop when I said listeners its so satisfying when I hear people who don’t listen to kpop saying his songs are good. lol for anyone who has a friend who is not a kpop fan, to hear them say anything having to do with the korean music scene is good is high praise indeed.

He’s next to GDragon in terms of solo artists.
And if I may add, the reigning #1 is Jaejoong and Junsu’s old group with all the crazy promotion available, #6 The Beginning was haunted with injunction + no broadcast promo, #5 In Heaven 100% JYJ composition/zero broadcast promo. If only Junsu and Jaejoong solo album were promoted like TVXQ, I ‘m sure they’ll surpass the #1!
You also have to factor in that Mirotic has the backing of ALL the tvxq5 members’ fans… That’s a lots of people buying the CDs, and there were more that might’ve been unreported.
@Kris
I appreciate all your posts, always encouraging with the fact.I’m grateful to have you in our fandom.
Or maybe b/c fans were too busy for the concert/JJ’s bday and etc on the 26th? lol. I wouldn’t worry too much about this, especially since he’s doing pretty well and already among the top for solo singers + having no promotion~ Anyways, why worry about sale
This is great news!!! I hope it continue to sell more and more!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Keep it going, Jaejoong! As the great reviews keep coming in, more and more people will hear about it and buy the album. Good for you being a trooper and doing so many press interviews too! We are all so proud of you!
Jaejoong also top the Chinese Yinyuetai chart for 2 weeks straight with 99% of points which is the highst so far.
really. I’m so happy for them. I’ll support JYJ 4ever
I dunno bout you guys but 73,841 in 10 days is pretty impressive.
and it’s in rock genre sung by a VERY underrated ‘idol’-turn-rocker.
And honestly as a fan, this is one album i could be proud by showing it off around muggles.
I think with the current sale number, it’s very impressive enough for solo album with the fact that he can’t appear on any broadcast television or radio or whatsoever. In some country in Asia can not make this high number of sale because they tend to download it illegal way so…this affect a lot to the number of sale, they like the song but they don’t buy the whole album that’s why digital single download is quite popular in some country. But seeing the amount of sale number in Korea, I consider this as an impressive number for solo artist.
