JYJ member Kim Jae Joong’s in-demand repackage album, Y, is already sold out.
C-Jes Entertainment announced on February 27, “Kim Jae Joong’s repackage album is causing a stir in the music market following his solo mini album.”
The company added, “As soon as the 50,000 preorders were released, the album completely sold out and we’re receiving floods of additional orders, causing us to run short in supply.”
The repackage album was released through on and offline markets on February 26.
The repackage includes two new tracks composed by Kim Jae Joong, Only Love and Kiss B. The songs have already taken over the iTunes charts of Thailand, Japan, and Philippines.
Meanwhile, Kim Jae Joong is currently on an Asia tour. He will be visiting Shanghai on March 17. He will also be donating to UNICEF on behalf of JYJ on March 5.

[NEWS] 130227 Jaejoong’s ‘Y’ sees immediate success: sells out and tops iTunes charts
Wow, that was fast! Jaejoong just released the repackaged version of his first solo album ‘I‘, titled ‘Y‘, but even despite it being a repack, it has already flown off shelves and topped charts across Asia!
C-JeS Entertainment revealed on the 26th, “Jaejoong’s repackaged version of his solo mini album is raising a storm in the music markets. The pre-order of 50,000 copies of the repackaged album sold out immediately and requests for additional copies are flooding in, leaving us faced with a shortage of goods.”
“The newly added songs are of high quality and as there is a dance song with a different charm from the rock album, we expect those are the reasons behind this better-than-expected response. Right after the release of the album yesterday, it ranked #1 on the Thailand, Japan, and Philippines’ iTunes charts.”
Despite his success with his solo albums, Jaejoong has shown that he still remains grounded even with all of his fame as he will be making a generous donation to UNICEF on behalf of JYJ.
Congrats Jaejoong!

Ok then make more……
Please;)
neva under estimate jj power 🙂
C-Jes! still hasn’t realize they should be prepared for this kind of thing. Especially, when it involves JYJ! Like, really! You would think they learn there lesson after the 1st time!XDD But, in any case. I’m glad his repackage is doing amazingly. This comes to no surprise….—> the #JaeJoongEffect ^-^)/ Oppa!! DaeBAK!
whats new..never heard of JaeEffect..
btw pls reproduce asap…lets take the sell # to the roof..
another artst cd is also making a blow over there…lets always DISCOVER and spread JAE heavenly talent
Just going to stare the very handsome Jaejoong …
wish I can avoid that “run short of supply”on the first day , that’s not something to be proud of as an artist management team,
that’s incompetence and they are denying Jaejoong the chance to reach his possible maximum/optimum sales.
LOL it’s not sold out. You can buy it online or in stores. C-JeS probably means THEY are sold out (which was by design, obviously, so they could say “wow, we’re sold out!”)…but their statement is misleading. It is NOT sold out in any store! If anyone needs a copy I’ll happily go buy one for you!
They are the producer, so when they say sold out, it means all they have produced are already booked/bought by the individuals or retailers. Of course the retailers are still selling what they have booked (as this is only the second day of released), but there are some retailer outlets which are running out of stock but they cannot restock or replenish the supply because CJes has nothing to give, that’s what they mean by “run short of supply”. That’s the unfortunate scenario, when there are orders which the producer cannot supply.
CJES meant album is ‘sold out’ because there is nothing left in the warehouse or packaging place.
The albums are still available in stores and online but those are basically bought by the stores to sell to people.
I don’t know if you live in the US, but we have Girl Scout cookies to sell. The troop buys the cookies from the GS company (careful not to order too much or too little) then the girls sell the cookies to everyone (I bought 10 boxes myself) and if they ran out, then that’s it. If they have left overs, the troop cannot return the boxes and get the money back…they have to literally ‘eat the cookies’…well actually, the Scouts then beg parents to buy more even though there is no room in the cupboard.
But just the same, CJES should produce more copies.
I have written them a request (through email) to make more copies to be fair to fans and make fans happier. I don’t know Korean so hope they don’t mind. My Y copy has been shipped already and I am happy but I want all JJ and JYJ fans to be happy too.
Haha… so funny you mention GS cookies…. as my daughter is selling GS cookies now too… and makes me smile you are using that has an example.
I also bought “I” and awaiting for “Y”‘s arrival…. can’t wait!!! ❤
That makes two! (I’m waiting for my y copy to get here and I have I as well lol
Um yeah that’s pretty much what I meant, and I do understand your cookie example. My post was clarifying for others, who on another related post made a lot of comments insinuating they thought the stores were all empty and it was impossible to get the CD. I live in Korea, and can see the difference between reality and what a C-JeS press release might imply. I understand that you may see the distinction, but a lot of fans on twitter and other posts do not. So I was trying to be helpful to them.
Also, this is exactly what happens with almost every JYJ release. C-JeS claims huge sales/sell-outs, a few stores might run short of stock for a couple of days, fans outside Korea think the stores are all empty and run all over the internet bragging about JYJ’s massive power, real humans see tons of JYJ CDs in the stores and think the fans are liars, and then no one takes JYJ fans seriously. I thought a little injection of eyewitness information might help. ^^
Well, if it’s the case I think C-Jes urgently needs to hire very expert or professional in phsycology marketing.
I assume C-Jes isn’t aware abt the effect that you’ve mentioned and perhap even more.
If this strategy keeps repeating, it’ll be the loss of C-Jes and our boys.
I know Marketing & Advs thingy aren’t cheap, but those things r one of the most powerful weapon.
Hopefully C-Jes starts to invest more in marketing.
I hope I don’t insult anybody here.
Peace 😉
i am a JYJ fan, and yes i was kind of misled by the title of the article……
Hi, I am very happy that you make this clarification.
I also thought that when Cjes was telling that they were sold out, the stores were too.
I understand better now, Thanks 🙂
Why only 50k…cmon…u knw jj is popular internationally…plz produce more cjes…another 50k would be ok..
Only 50000. Now Jae and JYJ is so hot, do you know?
Maybe a different way to think about it is, that they don’t get many opportunities for media coverage on an album. This is their way to get the media to report on the album. By now, they should have a pretty good idea of what their selling range is. But they produce so few albums. But when they sell out, the media goes writting articles about the acomplishment. He relased a repackaged album less than a month after his first album. What they are doing seems to have been thought out carefully.
i agree with u… also think that way..
I’m glad someone finally realizes this! I live in Korea and I’ve paid a lot of attention to C-JeS’ choices over these last few years. They carefully craft things in order to get maximum media coverage, but it often comes at the expense of fans. C-JeS has definitely not perfected the balance between the two. I respect them for trying, but hate the results. 😐
does it actually work though ?
he is seen as an idol and we all know that idols have their fans because most of the public don’t care for them ( or like them even) so even with news of him selling out his album , people might just see it as typical for an idol with lots of fans and not ” oh he sold out his albums ? ….he must be good then ..I might check him out ” .
if it’s for media coverage then they need to stop . reading about someone selling a lot of albums is better than a headline of selling out an album because it will Invoke the obvious question ..how much albums where there for it to be sold out ?
they shouldn’t limit him and the fans for the unpredictable media coverage .
Yes, their goal was media coverage. In the entertainment industry, you want your name out there. In the west, “any publicity is good publicity.” Over in korea, “only good publicity is good publicity.” You don’t get endorsments by being a nobody. And the members of JYJ know they’ve pissed off a couple of important people the industry. To the point where their other to venues(tv and radio) for promotion have been blocked. Companies don’t want to attach themselves with questionable people—unless those people can finacially prove to be worth the trouble. If they are selling out their albums out (regardless of how may were printed/available), they are viewed to be in demand — and worth the trouble.
Its really no different than here in America. New artist use ths approach. Since you have to be connected to get played on the radio; And be played on the radio to get shown on tv, new artist/preformers rely on print/internet coverage. And they over do it, but really when the two major forms of promotion are out of reach, you work with what you have. Unless the Korean fans are upset, this approach is working just fine. And I mean a large portion of fans. Not some small group of them. I say korean and to a certain extent the Japanese fans, we I-fans aren’t big enough to sway them. Frankly seeing how these fans support their individual projects and group activtes, I think they are willing to put up with it.
It seems C-Jes has been satisfied w/ 50k…
maybe c-jes or jaejoong himself wanna us to save our money…
Very Alsi drives up ticket sales of concert… Wet peoples appetite to see him actually perform meaning with proper handling JJ will be sold out three hours after opening ticket sales…. So ladies be prepared. If I could get to any one of the venues I would set up my computers to open web site as 1201am day of sale…
I know I’m not the only one got little frustrated with this repeating news! They better learn from the past and make more albums.
AAARRGH!! I just can’t sometimes…
It’s really very frustrating. This might be Jae’s first and last solo album before entering the army (his time is running short)
but his chance to reach his full selling potential and make records as a solo artist is LOST.
I got both of em! If u release a new repackaged with new photos… my wallet will kill me but my eyes will love me T.T
YES! MY COUNTRY IS ON THE LIST! GO PHILIPPINES! GO JYJ! GO JAEJOONG! GO “Y”! XD
Small update: big stores that have fansign events coming up are starting to sell out of “Y” now. Most of them only received a few hundred copies. More than one store told me that relatively few people bought the album, it’s just that a small number of people bought up to 100 copies each. Stores that don’t have any fansign events are not sold out, (from what I saw) and online stores say they’ll be restocked next week. Some brick-and-mortar stores say they won’t be restocked ever. It’s all very weird and is resulting in some very pissed off fans. (The sell-outs at fansign stores means no more people can enter to win tickets to the fansign events, even though the deadline to enter hasn’t passed yet.) As someone above wondered, is this positive media spin worth upsetting the fans? Are they actually gaining new fans through these media stories? I personally don’t think so. I can say without hesitation that this repeated kind of stuff (not just for albums but for everything C-JeS does, some of which isn’t really apparent unless you live in Korea) is *losing* them some fans. C-JeS really needs to find that balance… 😦 However, JJ’s repackage is definitely a success (though the bar was set so darn low…), so we can be happy about that.
thanks for your information.. why is this happening. sigh i just hope CJES can print more copies. what is CJES doing
I am assuming that you and other fans in Korea have expressed your concerns to CJES?
I hope that CJES will carefully listen and heed your/our concerns. It is hard to gauge what is really happening when we live in the US and happily ordering and receiving stuff without much problems. Except the Magazine was sold out by the time I wanted to order it (but my fault because I waited too long;)…
I have e-mailed CJES myself but since I dont speak Korean and do not live in Korea (and Japan- since they are having problems too), my opinion may not matter much if at all.
I know that JYJ fans in Korea are very vocal (got Channel A to ‘apologize’ like 3 different ways) so hope CJES will listen…
I can’t figure out how C-jeS can consistently get it wrong when it comes to ordering product from the manufacturer. I don’t understand the logic of only pressing 50,000 copies of this album. Ditto the 120,000 copies of “I.” I don’t get it. But as I said yesterday, if you want “Y” just order it as soon as possible.
Thanks for attempting to clarify things @Here To Help. We are an international fan forum and JYJ and the members are definitely not “losing fans” internationally based on whatever wacky nonsense may or may not be going on in Korea. JYJ is becoming hugely popular internationally right now. Most people here will be ordering CDs online. We heard yesterday that Japanese sites may have already sold out of “Y” but that’s because Jaejoong is so massively popular there. But there are still online stores that have it if people move quickly on it.
🙂
FYI – “Y” is still available at Yesasia. http://www.yesasia.com/us/kim-jae-joong-repackage-album-y/1032381517-0-0-0-en/info.html
Reading all the posts above,I have a feeling that Jaejoong is mostly loved by interntional fans.C-jes is repeating the same BS and SK locals are trying to undermind him.
