It’s safe to say no one understood what a tongtong or a toongtoong is! (￣▽￣) I’m sure the person who wrote the question was also confused! Anyways, I’ll answer the fan question. Yoochun likes women no matter the shape he likes women. But, he explained his answer as best as he could understood that question. So, I’m happy that this silly rumor about Yoochun has been cleared. Ppl would do anything to ruin a good person repetition, it’s truly ridiculous (￣^￣)ゞ

Personally I do not find anything that YC said was offensive. He has said in the past that he does not mind a women who has a little meat on her as long as she was toned. I interpreted that as he does not mind a curvy women. To me nothing he said was offensive so no need for rumors to start. Like as if he was dissing women. I mean different strokes for different folks. What is wrong with him liking a women with a little meat on her bones and someone who keeps fit. That is not offensive that is what he is attracted to, good for him.
That’s exactly how I understood his answer. But, I guess what happen was ppl kept over thinking about his answer and turned it into a misunderstanding which lead the haters/antis/sensitivenonfans etc…taking this opportunity to turn it to something bigger. People will always find ways to turn something little into something big. For the sake of damaging someone repetitions because they dislike that person. Which isn’t fair at all. But, as long as fans like us continue sticking by the truth, rumors like this won’t matter because we know JYJ best and we know who they aren’t and know who they are…JYJ!♥

thank you for this video and translation. i didn’t even know there was a problem. to me he is just confused about it all and honestly trying to answer. why people have to make a big deal out of every little thing as if they are so perfect and can point out others flaws, yet they can’t see their own is beyond me. trouble makers i guess. jealous of JYJ? silly people.
From what Junsu said above my understanding is both tongtong and toongtoong both mean you are chubby. Tongtong is used in a positive way in describing a women. This means she is considered chubby (curvy, some meat on your bones) but attractive. Wheres toongtoong is used to describe the women as being chubby(fat) but not attractive. Between those two words YC said he likes a women who is tongtong meaning chubby and attractive. But also someone who keeps fit. What I get from that is he does not have a problem and finds women attractive who may have some meat on their bones. That is not offensive that is what he likes. His choice of words was not offensive.
there is no chubby attractive and chubby fat. either you’re chubby (w/just a little meat on ur bones) or you’re plain old fat. idk how koreans differentiate it but that basically the only things that is. unless they mean women who look good chubby while others don’t look good chubby

Yes this is what I understood them to say and was trying to say above. I may not have said it right but this is what I was trying to say. I maybe misunderstanding what they actually meant but this is what I thought they meant. But I still do not understand what the rumor was all about. I do not think he said anything offensive.

it start from fans who mistranslation on twitter which cause fans/ppl misunderstand him..maybe it’s because they shorts their tweets, so ppl confused & misjudged his answer..so this video+transcript proved that nothing is wrong exactly what YC have said..
I don’t know what rumour this is about, clearly I’ve been on twitter for hours but haven’t read anything offensive about Chunie.
From what I understand with all the comments, it looks like another growing-out-of-proportion words, exaggerating people trying to make a mess out of Chun’s words.
I agree with the person above me, , it reminds me of Jaejoong saying he likes not too skinny girls, and I recall someone saying chubby for him would be around 70kg. I personnaly don’t think so, because this is the occidental chubby weight, and considering this is for Korean girls, the actual chubbiness there should be around 60-65kg. Remember the girls (at least idols they frequent) are around 50 kg?

This seems like such a loaded question. Why did JJ bring it up for YC to answer? Was he trolling YC? Most women see themselves as not being trim even if they have an extra 3 pounds. So basically everyone is oversensitive about their weight and can get offended more easily than they should.
I think fans have such a double standard about this issue of weight. When YC gains or loses a few pounds everyone comments about it, chubby cheeks, chubby YC, skinny YC, please eat and on and on. If YC gained a lot of weight and was really chubby and out of shape would fans really be ok with that?
YC seems to be the one who is really not concerned about the issue and women fans are just so hyper sensitive about it.
And finally, I think it is so endearing that YC’s reference point about women is still his mother. He really is so adorable.

He’s gonna straight up say “I don’t like fat chicks” at a fanmeet?????? He’d sooner say, “I hate Korean chicks.” Come ON, people! Give the guy credit for a little grace and intelligence.

Yoochun didn’t offend anyone people! Stop making such a big fuss over it !!!Oh really some girls and women are so sensitive about this subject. I weight, 67kg at 1.62m and I’m chubby or maybe tong tong ahaha and I have always been like this since I was little. Weight isn’t about keeping it under control, some people have problems with thyroid gland which makes them absorb more then needed. And honestly I’ve lost weight a few years back from 67 to 52 and no one liked me. Not even a single guy I looked like stick ( no offense to natural thin women, it’s about my self), I even had male friends who told me to gain weight back cause I look too thin. When I reached back 64 kg, I finally regained my confidence. Through out the years every girl will learn how to be confident in her own body, cause that’s the Oz Factor that attracts. When you love yourself and your body ; confidence shines through! And that’s what men are attracted too, intelligent,confident powerful women either if they are skinny, normal or chubby!^_____^

The confusion didn’t come from this video but from a previously posted “compilation tweets”. One of the tweets said YC said he does’t like fat women, women who don’t take care of themselves. This tweet didn’t give a preview and an ending to what actually transpired at the Fanmeet and it was obviously mistranslated. And I was one of those fans who took the translation at face value without questioning it (mostly because it was from a Chun-biased fan and also I remembered reading a tweet about a comment exactly like this that was reported to be from Chun before). So I thought, “Not again, Chun! Why would you say something that would bring pain to others and drive half of your fans away. That would an idiotic thing to do”.
But I am glad the translated tweet was so so wrong. And I will have to say “Sorry” to Chun that I doubted him at that moment. I should know he’s not an idiot who would say whatever comes into his head. I should have more faith in his judgement. So sorry PYC for my exhibited lack of faith in you T___T.
I hope you are not in that mean group of OT5 who called yoochun a douche bag and that he said, ‘No Fat Chicks’ without first verifying the facts. I know they lurk here because they were so pleased about finding the ‘evidence’ from this site. I hope they will be brave enough like you to apologise to yoochun not only for this incident but for all the mean things they have tweeted about him in the past – him smoking pot or weed, his tiny peen, his wheezing and needing a ton of inhalators to get through a performance etc. I have tried ignoring them but I found them becoming more and more offensive of late. They seemed to target Yoochun in particular, less so Jaejoong and Junsu.
When I first became a JYJ fan after SKKS, I didn’t mind OT5s but this particular group has caused a strong allergic reaction in me. I don’t really care who they make fun of if they do so in their own private blogs or dms but do so on an open thread that has lots of youngsters lurking – now, that to me is really crude and vulgar.

I actually always find some OT5 are really offensive and irritating. Every times I went on twitter and search about Chun, this one particular ot5 always show up on the result and always do offensive joking about JYJ (Chun in particular), one of the example is like this, shes saying YC looks tired because he didn’t get his blo*job last night..etc etc. So annoying! Her username itself is irritating : sl*tjae. Her “jokes” are always way over board and so offensive. It’s disrespectful for the artist and its not funny at all. I ended up blocked and reporting her.
Please have more faith in him, I was upset when see some fans were blaming Chun without checking the credibility of the sources. So, lets believe in him ^_^
Never doubted Park Yoochun in the first place. I just feel bad for him for he had been judged because of the “wrong” translations. Anyways, it’s a good thing this issue has been cleared.
Sigh~ Even when the mistrans came out, I didn’t think he said anything wrong because I thought the whole point of the first (mis)trans was that he didn’t like lazy girls. I was really disappointed to see such negative reaction from people who were offended by the (mis)trans because some of them were my actual real life friends but I kept my cool and stood by my own opinion.
This is why I always give the benefit of the doubt, especially when it comes to idols. If I haven’t seen/heard/experienced it myself, I wouldn’t completely believe it.
I remember this girl who got to be a representative for Tony Moly PH in the Global Fan Meet. She kept badmouthing JaeChun (most especially Yoochun) in her Twitter account saying she had been “wronged” by my bias, etc. It hurt me to see what she said and at the same time I didn’t find her credible enough because she wasn’t even a fan to begin with.
So I say, never completely believe what you hear from other people until you hear the whole story because there’s always two sides to the story and it wouldn’t be fair if you just listened to half of it and gave your judgment.

It’s just that as regards JYJ, you simply have to allow verification time, you have to make sure of your facts. You just can’t take stuff like this at face value, immediately, because there are too many ill-wishers out there who still waste no opportunity to try to bring them down at the slightest opportunity.

Chunnie has always been my bias. No offense to beautiful Jaejong and super talented Junsu, but Chunnie seems to be most grounded and careful in answering questions. I think it is clear he was confused by the slight difference in pronunciation and I think it is unfair that he be judged by that. I still believe that he did not mean to be insulting or offensive. His fans are usually more mature (meaning over 35, I guess?), and so we are ready to defend our boys from immature, rumour mongering non-fans. Keep on the faith, Ladies. Our boys will again prevail triumphantly.
