A representative from Kim Junsu’s agency CJES Entertainment explained, “As Kim Junsu is a vocalist who can sing everything from dance songs to ballads, he is planning on tackling a wide range of genres” and “We are receiving songs from several composers. To match the upcoming summer, the album will have a more pop type sound than his last album.”
—
There are also idols who compose their own songs and differentiate themselves as an artist. JYJ’s Kim Junsu plans on including his self-composed songs into his second album.
—
A representative from CJES Entertainment stated, “Instead of remaining as an idol thriving on an image, Kim Junsu will pursue this generation’s trend, the ‘Perfect Idol’, and insisted on releasing a full album” and “We are considering promoting the fact that Kim Junsu participated in the producing of the album, including selecting the songs.”
Parts unrelated to Junsu are omitted.

Will he be appeared on TV? 😦
Nop, I think it mentions his second solo album that will release in July or August.
Let’s hope he will. If he does, it will pave the way for JYJ. An album is a strong case for promotions. Maybe in Korea, a mini album is overlooked by the stations, so they could get away with their usual excuse. But not with a normal album, they will be put on a tight spot for sure this time, and this is the challenge to wait and see if the stations hold true to their promise or not. Though I worry they might punish him again like with the SBS incident, when they made him believe he could perform songs from his Tarantallegra album on TV.
“Maybe in Korea, a mini album is overlooked by the stations…”
I wish you are right, but then you see all the other idols releasing singles, mini albums and they are still heavily promoted on tv 😦 And will the people at the stations be in a tight spot? I think by now we all agree that they have no shame, so i guess no they will have no qualms to overlook Junsu again. Junsu can only depend on the fans now.
Yeah, you are right about that, but stations did claim if JYJ released an album, they’d broadcast them. So I assumed they want something strong to force them accept. I know the other artist can promote their minis, singles, ect but KBS, SBS, and others did make a verbal condition to JYJ, that if they made an album they’d broadcast them. Now that I think about it, they might have guessed JYJ would be late in making an album, so they made that statement of promise. I just don’t want to accept they’d ignore like usual again, this year especially, after the legal dispute excuse is over and done with now. But still, fighting those stations on their own terms could pressure them into accepting. Its just once and the seal would be broken. The sooner the better.
@Kalus
Alas, I’m afraid mini-albums are not over-looked by the stations as long as they are released by Idols whose agencies are in favor with them. There is pervasive payola going on here, their are backroom deals with money changing hands of 20 years’ duration. That’s what the blocking has been all about. These secret illegal deals between entertainment agencies and the executives and programmers at the music shows.
I think the Melon awards showed that there is evident corruption in the way things are being run. But putting corporation aside for a moment, did anyone notice the bullying of SM at last years end ? like you said lilibaiyu, companies have deals right? I noticed Cube, formed by a former JYP CEO, has gained power recently. SM seems to fall behind in producing heart throb artists.
Did you know SM when it first appeared, It always swapped all Music awards for its artists? Monopoly is what it was and JYP suffered from this monopoly because they wanted to win awards for their own artists at least once. but no SM monopolized all awards year after year, after year, disregarding JYP and other new born label companies.
Most companies may not carry a grudge against SM because they were born during a time SM needed to win allies through business deals. Yes JYP was included. but JYP was always trying to push its artist to come on top of SM artists in awards before. So I think JYP carries a grudge against SM for the way SM tried to kick out JYP from market, when JYP first appeared. later JYP also became a business partner with SM. Asian Union. but I think it was around that time that JYP’s CEO resigned and left the company. Then formed CUBE. I can feel Melon suck up to Cube last year, and the MAMA awards had at least two disputes with SM in the past. They aren’t on good terms but back then MAMA and Mnet had to deal with SM because it produced most of the artists in korea which ment ratings for the stations.
So, just last year, there seems to be a shift in power, last years end, Melon Awards pleased Cube not SM . Even the MAMA Awards treated SM as though they don’t exist. Also, most artist in demand now do not come from SM either, and their number exceed the number of SM artists. There is a shift in power, SM’s monopoly of kpop awards sure changed. This making most label companies happy of course especially JYP or JYP’s former CEO, now the founder of Cube Entertainment, So lets say it pleaseth Cube most. Yes, I think Cube wants to replace SM and become the new giant, and probably bully SM out like SM bullied JYP back in the days.
Interesting no ?
@Kalus
“Interesting no ?”
VERY interesting. Thanks very much Kalus for that post. GREAT information there, I’m so glad I read it. It made me realize that perhaps we should be supporting other acts NOT signed to SM as well as boycotting SM acts in order to level the playing field that way. I just don’t get how people can fail to understand that when they buy a SHINee CD or a SNSD re-issue they are putting money in the pockets of SM Entertainment — money that among other things will be spent to continue the boycott indefinitely. They just want what they want, I guess. ONLY money talks with SM, they are moved by no others feelings of fairness or altruism. As long as they can throw their weight round and command compliance, they will. From now on I’ll be cheering on groups like Big Bang and of course all the many many Korean indie artists (who are not in “Idol” groups) that I’ve always followed and listened to.
🙂
Your very welcome, and your definitely right about the boycott thing, its the most serious effect.
SM’s attitude was never pleasant with other label companies. As for stations, Mnet especially, just put up with SM because it was a monopoly giant at those times. I don’t know about KBS, SBS, or MBC. But Mnet definitely tried independence before, and dislikes SM so much that it suddenly sacked SM at the recent MAMA awards. SM right now is desperate to produce new groups that would attract interest this coming summer ,or it will be falling back harder than it did last year’s end.
kids are also signing with label companies not labeled SM. This allowed those companies to produce more groups in one year, than SM did in the same year. Another bad news for SM. lets hope SM continues to reap the bad deeds that it sowed.
@kalus
“lets hope SM continues to reap the bad deeds that it sowed.”
Again, loved your post. Yes, let’s hope that all we have been doing for the last 3 years in terms of getting the word out on what is actually happening here will cause some positive results for JYJ.
We just can’t let up, however tired we are of the fight, we can’t stop spreading the word that SM is a malignant company who exploits it’s young signees with promises and outright lies to get their parents (without benefit of attorneys!!) to sign them away for years of servitude to these maximum position, “Everything For Us, Nothing For You” contracts. All I know is that when SM stock took a drastic nosedive in October of last year and showed no signs of recovering, SM settled the lawsuit with JYJ. It’s obvious to me that MONEY is their only master, their only factor in determining what they do next. The ONLY way to get to them is to hit them in their pocketbook — there is NO OTHER WAY. But if we rattle enough cages and tell enough truth to enough people in enough places, their stockholders and their clueless consumers will hear. Maybe some of them will act. This, I believe, is JYJ’s only hope.
that’s OUR man junsu! everyone beware for when he releases his new album cause it will drop you all down a notch or two. it just can’t be helped. junsu is magic when it comes to music! 🙂
Daebak!
But he is already perfect!!!!!junsu i hope this album will be daebak…and jyj album too soon
I am totally so excited over the moon, looking forward to Junsu new album and July cannot come any faster!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Will JJ be one of the composers?
Seriously, I can’t wait for this. Jun-chan FTW!
What theme will he bring up this time??? He can’t use Elizabeth/Tod as his inspirations anymore because it had been being used previously… kekekeke… We haven’t got any clue until now ….
Yay for the more new self-compositions!!!!! Yay for the more diverse genres!!!! Can’t wait.. can’t wait!!!!!!
Nice to hear that a lot of composers are willing to contribute than a few years ago… A lot of them afraid to make the move :).
I hope JJ will contribute songs for this album…I really love all the songs that been composed by him…:D
Ok his next piece of work is going to be off the chain…
It has been so exciting to follow Junsu’s exponential growth path over the past three years. As a musician, he has progressed much in every aspect. I am very much looking forward to his new album.
Junsu is very talented! He is an artist and a musician. Junsu can sing, dance, compose, produce and he looks great!
Reblogged this on Victoria2070a.d.blog and commented:
This is gonna be fun
I wish for a new JYJ album after Junsu’s.
Even if he probably isn’t going to promote on any broadcasting stations, I hope he gets a good response from his fans and the general public. Junjjang is working hard as does Yoochun and JJ so I believe they will do as well as they did.
Target: to buy a few of copies his new album and start some sort of propaganda again!!
oh my god sun… best singer ever born in korea.. but jaejoong you are perfect! hahaha.. JYJ FIGHTING!
xia, i know u will try someting different but perfect..

‘ Kim Junsu is a vocalist who can sing everything ‘……I love this word and totally agree…….hahaha…^ O ^
JUNSU FIGHTING!!!
Our treasure, Kim Junsu, we’ll always support and proud of you..
Looking forward to his new album so much. If only he could promote the same as the rest. It’s so unfair he doesn’t get to play on equal grounds. Sometimes I wonder how he’d do if he could do proper promotions since he does quite well without.
junsu,, ganbatte
I will expect nothing less than a full length album from Junsu, considering how he has always put music as his no. 1 priority in all of his previous activities. And this is his only way of connecting with his fans. The info given here is still pretty vague, i’ll be waiting to hear more news about this new album, how much he will be involved in the music production process, now that it seems he is receiving songs from other composers. I need to know who he will be collaborating with. I shall be patient^^
I like the idea of Junsu and his brother Junho writing songs together. They wrote “Tarantallegra” together which is one of my all time favorite songs. I also hope Junsu will release songs fans can dance to with a video to showcase his dancing. Junsu really knows how to move!
I want to say I am so proud of Junsu!!!!! This will be his second full album. He was involved with his first album but to hear that he will be even more involved in the second album is awesome!!!!!!!! I cannot wait to hear what he comes up with this time, July hurry up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I’m so proud of this young man. I can’t say enough about his talent and his desire to be the best at what he can do — which is a LOT. I also have high hopes for the new album and I expect him to be involved with every aspect of its production. He is of an age now where he is more than ready to be co-producing his own music. I have a hunch that the more power Junsu has to direct what songs he will do and how he will do them, the better the end product will be.
🙂
The way the rep said being a “perfect idol” is following this generation’s trend makes it sound like doing your own composing is a fad… 😐 I think Junsu is better than that. Junsu can sing, dance, compose, play the piano and act, all at the level of a top professional. He’s a category on his own and doesn’t need to follow any trend.
@Imaki
I totally agree.
🙂
