Hi Imaki..Thanks for the translation. I’ve always been wondering..why do they put “san” at the end of the name. Sometimes I also hear “des” when they say their names in Japanese. Is it an expression just like “yah”/”ah” in Korean? Whoever can answer. Thanks!
Hello lia1207, “-san” is an honorific that is used to address people politely… It’s kind of like Mr./Miss/Mrs. And “-desu” (and “-masu”) are sentence endings used when speaking or writing in formal Japanese (although this is not the most formal form). I’m not familiar with Korean, but I think “-ya” and “-ah” are relatively informal? I think “-desu” in Japanese would probably be more like “-imnida” in Korean.
