*** The Gaon Chart is the national chart of South Korea and is intended to be the equivalent of Oricon in Japan and Billboard in the United States.
The Gaon Album Chart are a set national charts that ranks the best-selling albums, including mini-albums and singles, in South Korea, provided by the Korea Music Content Industry Association. The charts are made up of charts tracking domestic album sales, international album sales and a combined overall album sales in weekly, monthly and year-end format.
*** Kim Jaejoong ranked in 2nd place as the solo artist with high albums sales in the First Half of 2013 from Gaon Chart, 1st place belongs to veteran korean singer Cho Yong-pil.
*** Kim Jaejoong released 2 Mini-albums “I” & “Y”.
On January 17, it was released “I” Mini-album, following by the Repackage Mini-album “Y” that contains the same songs from I with two extra tracks ”Only Love” & “Kiss B” and two instrumental tracks, this mini-album was released on February 26 to please the high demand and the limited stock of I Mini-album.

[UPDATED] Physical sales PER LABEL
In the first half of 2013, the only active singer from CJeS (9%) was Kim Jaejoong.
Congratz JJ! I knew you’d do well >.< Not all solo IDOL singer can reach that level. The only one that could is Jun Su and JJ.
Our jj is perfect!
No promotion, no jazzy brightly coloured dance MV, no variety program appearances anad whole shit load of problems and hater…and he still survived!!!
Ah it good to be a Jaejoong fan~~ he truely, undeniably, is the BEST!
Though my poor heart still wants to know what his ranking would be if he wasnt ‘banned’ from promoting his album??
Even with all the banning thing, he could have been ranked higher if his management company was competent enough to meet the demand and supply of his album at appropriate time and place where the momentum was at it’s peak. Reimbursing pre-orders because of no albums to give (where can you hear that, only from Jaejoong’s album, other companies buy back their artists’albums to boost chart ranking as a form of promotion. And if you read I-fans accounts how they hopped from store to store (during his 2-day concert in Seoul) to look for album to bring home to their countries, it was really regretful, what a miss chance for Jaejoong to shine with all the odds.
But we should still be PROUD and thankful, without so much drama and publicity stunts he still sold 206,927 albums (I&Ycombined), hopefully for his next release, his company will exert it’s best effort to help him.
Nicely said Kris. I echoed your comment.
kris, thanks for sharing this info… this picture is becoming more clear to me.
Nicely said…I know CJes is not a big company, nor a very well functioning one but they really should not underestimate the stars they have! JYJ together or individually is worth so much more than 206,927 albums…I tried to buy it too but couldnt 😦
I don’t get why they hopped from one store to another?! For example on KPopMart there are still 44 examples of “I” available (Y is sold out)… you see my confusion?!
Anyway ~ I’m a totally happy and proud fan (⌒∇⌒)
They had to hop from store to store since most stores were out stock or only few pieces left thus they couldn’t complete their target number of units at one stop. And that 44 pieces you mentioned might be part of the reprinting. (after those cancelled pre-orders had happened which pissed a lot of fans)
Ahaaaa, ok, now I understand ~ thank you for explaining @kris (⌒‿⌒)
Fair point made well! 👍👍👍
the man with no promotion right there with all the overexposed idols …* sipping tea *
He couldve sold more 😦 but i happy for him… Hope junsu conquer july chart
I´m a bit sad because right now, Jaejoong is the second soloist idol selling the most albums, behind G-Dragon, but JJ could be the first place ;A; But thanks to the short supply of his album, JJ couldn´t sell more albums -looking at CJES-
But oooh well, I´m happy because that´s a lot of albums for his first attempt, a MINI ROCK album without promotion at all! ❤
I believe Jaejoong ranks first on sold out list.
@sayujj
haha xD yeah !! A MINI – KOREAN – ROCK – album – With NO PROMOTION at all ………is Proudly Standing there in THAT list U_U……….*sipping tea”……
yaaahhhh ssso Cool being a JJ fan >_< ♥♥♥
This is awesome!!! 200k is a lot! even during their previous group days they only managed to sell around 300k.
Congrates, Jaejoongie!
kim jaejoong….
Ok he is high up there congratulations JJ
Whatever lists you throw at me and whatever ranks he was put in….I still see him at no. 1 on top of every list! Full stop!
9% only for jj…so junsu shud add another 9%…and possible JYJ comeback this year i hope
Congratulations Jaejoong. 🙂
With publicity, they could easily be number 2 or even threaten number 1 when join forces? No wonder some tried to stop them so OPENLY.
