JYJ‘s Junsu (XIA) has topped the overall daily chart at Japan Tower Records with his second full-length album, “Incredible.”
In addition, he ranked at number two after Japanese group NEWS on the overall weekly chart (July 15-July 21). He also placed first on the weekly K-Pop chart.
A source close to Junsu stated, “Junsu’s album ranked number one on Tower Records’ overall pre-order rankings before the release, which raised the anticipation of Japanese fans. It is amazing that Junsu was able to rank first and second without being able to do album promotions, surpassing other Japanese artists.
Junsu moves on with his solo Asia tour from Thailand on July 28 to Shanghai, Seoul August 3-4, and Busan August 10-11.

Woohoo! Fighting!! I feel so proud… as proud as his mum would tho I’m 2 years younger than he is.
Ps: For you guise who have a melon acc, please vote for Junsu at >> http://www.melon.com/cds/musicstory/ontv/web/ontv_listVote.htm?classKey=SCHM (from 23rd July to 28th July). There was a previous voting which was closed on 21st so this is kinda the new one. He is currently sandwiched between Infinite and B2st. Fighting! ❤
Its a good thing to hear, but ehy he is not able to promote in japan? I dont think sm had a big influence there as well !!!!
Believe it or not, It does have influence and a lot. SM and AVEX, the Japanese company, are closely related.
Wow, congrats, I am so happy and proud to be a fan!!!!!!!!!!!!! I hope he does a concert in Japan and the US as well!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
woohoo. why did they nvr told us about the pre-order sales?
wish leon could make more effort in promoting him~
yes, I really want to know the preorder sales number….. I saw the hanteo chart number and I am not happy about it.
yeah, can’t say i’m not. but lets try not to compare him to everyone else since he really got less promotion. when was the last time he was even able to be on broadcast? when i look at it this way and see what he has achieved so far, i feel eased. The major reason why i feel upset is because, really. this album is pure genius. it deserves more. i wish the world could hear how incredible the songs in the album really are.
Yes this time….I dont know why the sales number is like this T T. I preorder the album already, but I for sure will buy more during my stay in Seoul in Aug. Anyways, JUNSU FIGHTING! XIAPWAS FiGHTING!
Hi jj, where can i check the numbers for Junsu’s album for Hanteo? Can you please share a link? I want to be able to monitor it too. Thank you so much!
!!
Hi, you can go to this link, they update the number everyday (but it’s in Chinese though) http://tieba.baidu.com/p/2460011848,
the hanteo chart website is http://www.hanteo.com but I believe you have to register to see all the number, otherwise, they only show the second place.
Hope this help.
Thanks jj!!!
@jj, i think those 31,000 number is the number sold after preorder. nor including pre-order.
the thing is, we dont know how well the pre-order was. so right now, we dont know for sure.
when jae was listed in the hanteo chart, his numbers were also in 5 digits. same as junsu now.
so if junsu’s pre-order is as high, he might have sold more than what we think.
this shows the number http://jyj3.net/2013/01/20/info-130120-kim-jaejoong-tops-hanteo-weekly-album-chart-with-i-mini-album-cumulative-sales/
Jaejoong sold about 41k in one week.
and junsu sold about 38k in one week.
the numbers are not as big a gap as you think.
where do you get that 38k in one week? Hanteo chart only shows 28940 : http://www.hanteo.com/rank/nchart2.asp?Page=weekly&genre=9 (not to argue but just a reference)
ah, no no. my mistake then. i was just rounding up i guess. am working while writing.. my colleagues are walking behind me as i wrote T.T so i might be writing things..wrongly. anyway, its not 150k vs 30k.
Thank you, I thought you have another source, Gaon perhaps.
usually numbers in Gaon chart is higher than Hanteo
I think you’ve mistaken. You don’t add Hanteo sales to pre-orders. Pre-orders are the number of copies online/offline stores have ordered for their inventory from the album distributor, therefore, the # shown on Hanteo are actually already a portion of that (the amount that the fans have bought), not additional.
Also, I don’t mean any harm, but I want to correct you on the numbers: the way you compared Jaejoong and Junsu’s album are slightly off. Junsu’s album started selling on a Monday, while Jaejoong’s album started selling on a Thursday. Hanteo calculates their weekly from Mon-Sun. So you just compared Junsu’s album sales in 7 days to Jaejoong album sales in 4 days….. technically, the gap is larger than the numbers you showed here.
@Lansee yeah, i guess you are right, i dont know. thats why i put ‘i think’ and i really was not trying to compare in the first place ^^;;; this was supposed to be a response to her comparison below and i double posted heheh. i just dont like people to compare junsu with anyone else. i mean, it is what it is. what he got is what he got. unless we meant to buy more, its useless to compare like this.
LOEN should promote Junsu more! I am not saying this because I am JYJ-biased, but LOEN’s job is a promoter. Promoters are supposed to promote artists, and this should not be limited to only uploading three videos that were soon replaced by other artists’ videos. Did you guys noticed how fast LOEN promoted other artists soon after Junsu’s videos were uploaded?
So…. AVEX rules the Japanese media just like SM rules SK even after JYJ WON the lawsuit??? This is crazy time…
Yes, indeed, my friend
That should be the new definition of crazy. Record labels rule the country in South Korea and Japan. It’s so different in the United States where the celebrities call the shots.
@ee3451
“Record labels rule the country in South Korea and Japan.
It sounds like the premise for a futuristic thriller! I can already imagine what the film would be like! Although to be fair, it would probably have a killer soundtrack album. lol
🙂
Am I missing something because it seems like Junsu is selling very, very well based on his ranking above. To rank number 1 and 2 surpassing other Japaneses artist is amazing even more so without any promotion over there. Then he also was a top seller on Itunes in various countries, and Hanteo’s Daily Chart? Then interpark listed him as the top advance sales for the day and best advance sales for the week. It seems like he is doing awesome considering his album was just released on the 15th and he doesnt have the same heavy promotion as other artist. However, I get the impression based on comments above that he is not selling that well. I am confused! Can someone clarify for me is Junsu selling extremely well so far or he is not selling that well?
Bcoz it looks like in hanteo daily that junsu is selling lesser by the day..and are overtaken by some rookies in that chart…kinda worries me bcoz jaejoong album overtook everybody right from the start… Dunno how much it is sold for now … I dont know where to check
@Shayra ok I understand but I am not going to worry just yet because that is one chart total. We do not know what his entire sales is so far. Still think it seems like he is doing very well, but we will see. So I am still so happy for him!!!!!
http://www.hanteo.com/rank/nchart2.asp?Page=weekly&genre=9
Hanteo Week sale(7/15-7/21) = 28940
@jyjfangirl thanks for the info. he is in second place still a great ranking!
@Shayra, this is what puzzle me too… jaejoong sold out his 150000 copies mini album which is really great, but what Junsu has here is an awesome full album and his sales is only about 31000 so far on hanteo chart, I hope the sales will slowly increase and we’ll get more good news later. By the way, is hanteo chart include his total sales worldwide or just in Korea?
Let’s not compare him to Jaejoong, just compare him to himself
First week sale:
Taran album = 56000
Increb = 28940
@jyjfangirl I agree lets not compare him to JJ. Junsu is himself and have his own great accomplishments and JJ has his own great accomplishments. Both have accomplished somethings that the other has not. So they should only be compared to themselves. Even though his first week sales are not the same as his first album he is still in second place and that is a great ranking. This is his first week and there is still time to go.
@jj, i think those 31,000 number is the number sold after preorder. nor including pre-order.
the thing is, we dont know how well the pre-order was. so right now, we dont know for sure.
when jae was listed in the hanteo chart, his numbers were also in 5 digits. same as junsu now.
so if junsu’s pre-order is as high, he might have sold more than what we think.
this shows the number http://jyj3.net/2013/01/20/info-130120-kim-jaejoong-tops-hanteo-weekly-album-chart-with-i-mini-album-cumulative-sales/
Jaejoong sold about 41k in one week.
and junsu sold about 38k in one week.
the numbers are not as big a gap as you think.
and you have to take into consideration about the price difference between mini and full album. e.g. baidu fans bought bulks of jae’s album per person. if i can afford it, i would do so too T.T
@2017questa
“Jaejoong sold about 41k in one week.”
In fact he topped the hanteo weekly chart with 4 days of sales
Jaejoong sold 62,615 albums in the first week (7days)

@Shayra on “…overtaken by some rookies in that chart”
This demonstrates the power of media. And unfortunately, JYJ don’t have the advantage of the media in South Korea and Japan. We, fans, have to promote JYJ or they will fall the same fate as JTL, three-male group who complained about unfair contracts with SM, became blacklisted thereafter, and new K-pop fans never heard of them.
just read about them….looks like history repeated itself with JYJ…so strange,but fascinating too~*
@pinky lee.
You forgot to include the adjective, “sad!” LOL. This kind of history demonstrates that record labels continue to have an enormous bargaining power over the singers.
Yes it is very sad…I don’t know how correct the Wiki is but, its like word for word what happened with JYJ. What surprises me more is that the artist that are still in contract with SM have not considered that this could also happen to them. Ban together or go on strike. Artist make the companies. I would be a little bit worried, but then again I guess they got to eat…So yeah. Sleigh this dragon already~*
@pinky lee
Because of SM’s history of supremacy over its artists, it would be “career suicide” to leave SM. JYJ and JTL aren’t the only ones blacklisted by SM, you know. SM has a winning streak so far (don’t hate me for saying that, JYJ fans!).
No such animal….Gods and Devils only have power that you give them~*
@pinky lee
Earlier, you wondered why don’t SM artists ban together and go on strike. I answered that it was career suicide. I want to add now that unions are not common in Asia compared to the United States or other westernized countries.
@ee3451 and the irrepressible MISS Pinky Lee
*sigh* It’s so tiring to even think about this. Yes, SM has a sordid history of unchecked abuse and escape from any consequences for their outrageous acts. The government does nothing, in fact no one has been able to do anything. The KFTC tried and failed. SM is rich, powerful and uber-connected. They are seemingly untouchable. Now, cut to the careers of the members of of JYJ. Are they in the gutter, unable to get arrested, lonely, unable to buy a thrill since leaving the Great & Powerful SM?? Well, not exactly. They are, in fact, thriving. They’re all filthy rich. They’re doing brilliant work, they’re beloved by their fans. Yes, they bitch and moan from time to time about how tough SM makes doing anything for them and how much better they’d like it if they could just…[Insert each members’ Wish Lists here] but, by God, they are working, they are being productive, they are being successful. What more can an artist ever ask for? And each of them ARE artists. And as artists, I’m not feeling all that bad for them that they can’t go on Music Bank. Going on Music Bank is fairly far down on the list of things that an artist needs to do in order to have a rich and rewarding creative life. And that’s all I wish for them. To have a rich and rewarding creative life. To be appreciated in their own time. And to find happiness in exactly where they find themselves every day. Only that and nothing more.
@ lilibaiyu
I enjoy reading your comments! You are well-informed by the facts and you write in a coherent matter. I love logical people.
@ee3451
“I love logical people. ”
Me too. that’s why I always enjoy reading your comments.
Pinky Lee of course isn’t at all logical but she’s got such a cool vibe I find myself completely mesmerized by her every syllable. 😀
@lilibaiyu I love your comment and I feel the same way as you do on this part of your comment!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I always stay positive that more and more good things will happen for JYJ. That they will be able to continue to succeed more easily and not have to deal with being blocked unfairly and wrongly. However, even though it has been hard for them. They are actually doing extremely very well.

Thank you Lil…but you see that there is logic in being il-LOGIC-al
@ee3451
Unions are not common in Asia…..but unity is and the fans have power…..See.
Compared to his first album, INCREDIBLE is not selling as well in Korea.
Congratz Junsu…just hope ur album would surpass ur last sales…nothing from oricon yet? Btw, plz vote for junsu here… http://apps.8tv.com.my/8tvnitelive/2011/kpopchart.aspx
@Shayra I voted and will continue!
Singing these words If only they knew what we know there will be a lot of tv shows with JYJ showing across the USA our hearts desire set us on fire from the first hello…Wish we can see them not just believe in them from a world away we want to see JYJ… sing it any way you want mine was a sad heart breaking love story.. of want and desire… smile
Can we please not compare Junsu to JJ, JJ to Junsu. Each individual person album sales is their own sales. Each have their own accomplishments. Junsu is himself and have his own great accomplishments and JJ has his own great accomplishments. Both have accomplished somethings that the other has not. They are two different people with two different style of albums and should not be compared. This is a different time now and lets just stay positive and wish Junsu continue success with his album. Be happy for both persons success regardless of what it is.
AT the end of the DAY THEY ARE BOTH JYJ so what ever the sales horay horay horay as worldwide we are one rather separate or apart they all contribute to the success of this great group a foot cannot say to the body I do not want to be a foot there are many parts but 1 making it a whole same with JYJ they may and will have solo careers then ban together in the end like family so excited for both of them…
