(VOV) – The famous South Korean band JYJ will arrive in Vietnam on October 24 as part of promotion for the 17th Asian Games (ASIAD) in 2014.
Lim Byung Tae, Director General for the 17th ASIAD’s Public Relations, said Hanoi’s Vietnam National Convention Centre will host the event on a scale sure to excite anticipation ahead of the continent’s biggest sports occasion.
JYJ and the 17th ASIAD’s mascot will appear alongside Korean art, costumes and traditional dance performances, as well as cultural exchanges.
Admission is free.
JYJ are currently recording the theme song of the 17th ASIAD, titled “Only One”. It was written to express Asian unity, regardless of lingual and cultural difference.
“Only One” will be officially released to Asian fans on September 16.
The 17th ASIAD will take place in Incheon City, the RoK, from September 19 to October 4 in 2014.
The ASIAD’s organising board selected JYJ’s three members Jae Joong, Yoo Chun, and Kim Jun Su as the official ambassadors of the event.

Happy for vietnam fans XD
these events sound like fun! i am proud of JYJ and cJes for taking the high road and showing their integrity in spite of the low lifes around them. the song sounds fun and i love that they are using those dolls in their colors as part of the whole promotion cause after all, THEY are the ambassadors of the games. i was wondering, will they be able to attend the events? it is a year away and that damn army is biting their heels.
JYJ shouldn’t promote the game on behalf of SK.They should just represent Asia.It just happened that they are Koreans.
CHEERS for JYJ, IAG 2014 and to Vietnam Fans ●‿●
If we look at the bigger picture, it’s really a wonderful opportunity for JYJ given by IAG to showcase themselves to at least 45 participating countries/states. Yes there’s still blocking in SK and I think it won’t disappear overnight, the problem is already systemic, the industry is sick with cancer and has already metastasized, it needs a series of chemotherapy to completely heal). I’m sure before IAG chose JYJ, the committee knows JYJ’s background, being blacklisted in broadcast/entertainment industry but still they appoint JYJ, they took the risk. Let’s wish them a very successful JYJ/IAG2014 partnership, it’s a long series of a year activities.
(And I don’t think insulting and shaming SK and IAG will do any good for JYJ, just saying.)
