he is so amazing! i love this version of arirang and i dare say the audience of all ages did too! there is no end to the amazing things he can and will do musically. so happy to be one of those who will stay around to benefit from him!
@koreanmom, I also love love love this Jaejoong version of Arirang. Jaejoong is truly gifted as singer/songwriter/composer and also he has a gift of expression, not to mention his stunning good looks to capture and mesmerize. I am so happy his version was televised, it is so unique, not the typical, he performs with such charm and he sings with so much passion. The audience I’m sure did not expect the upbeat feeling he created, his beautiful voice made this so enjoyable. I really hope this Jaejoong version becomes popular with the younger generation, he has so much to offer and this stage was ideal.
I hope this will give signal to another TV channels to invite them on their programs. I want to see more of them on TV gradually. But as always, I don’t want to give high expectation on this issue. We have went through a lot and I still can’t forgive and never forget.

I’m so extremely moved that I was crying- the beloved Korean song in modern version performed so marvelously well, was finally shown in Korea’s tv channel- I could see and hear Jae saying-“let me show you what you’re missing I am your paradise”. I could imagine the caucasian man telling his daughter -watch closely dear that man is South Korea’s finest- follow and appreciate his entertainment career onward because he will never fail to amaze and give joy to you. Jae that’s the way to go! You will be unbeatable the path of greatness is yours. Cheers!
When JYJ performed for the President’s inauguration and the TV broadcast skipped their performance, I was so heart sick. It seemed that it might even have been coordinated with the President to provide them with a realistic distraction to skip JYJ. I expected the same thing with this performance. I can’t believe that they included Jaejoong. I’m quite certain that KBS had to be forced to include them. Someone had to fight for it. It gives me hope for this President and her people to have this broadcast.
Also, I am comparing the last time I saw DBSK perform for an audience of adults for a govt. program. All the adults had nasty faces looking down on them. This time they are smiling and respectful. What a huge change. JYJ and Jaejoong have won the respect of the adults in Korea. I am happier about this day than even their Tokyo Dome performance.
Which performance? The old one? I don’t have it but it is a performance of Purple Line before an unmistakably hostile adult audience with condescending looks and arms folded.
That’s really dumb of you to compare JYJ to TVXQ or to even bring them up here! You only see what you want to see; and since you obviously HATE TVXQ you thought the elderly hated them too. Well, that’s not the vibe I got when I watched. We’ll never really know what happened between the two groups. There are obviously misunderstandings from both sides that only got bigger and deeper with time. But I learned to forgive, even though I don’t support TVXQ like I did before, it angers me to see ignorrant people bashing them just because they believe they know everything. TVXQ aren’t the ones responsible for what is happening with JYJ.

I was a DBSK fan for years before they split up and I still watch their old videos from time to time. I am not a fan of the 2 member TVXQ, but I was not referring to them.
My point was that Jaejoong has come a long way in earning the respect of adults. The contrast between the video in 2008 and this one was striking. My point had nothing to do with whether or not DBSK deserved the respect at that time. As I said, I was their fan, so it insulted me to see the attitude of the audience in that old video when I watched it at that time.
I don’t know why adults changed their attitude so much, but I assume that Jaejoong and JYJ’s perseverance against being so persecuted by the Korean media is one reason, plus the high quality of the music and acting of all 3 JYJ members. Why you assumed that I was attacking TVXQ I don’t know.

amid watching Jae’s fancams at his three concluded concerts, i fave in between the vids of Arirang and Butterfly at Blue House con last October. the shots there were taken extremely close and clear but seeing now the full view of grand stage and audience feels more touching and proud of Kim Jae Joong. Felt like i’m one of the patriots taking pride of the song with his moving and catchy performance. i recently watch Mama 2013 and seen the grandest of stage with pop names showing their craft, not meaning anything against the event but my thoughts were focused on how wishing the case is true to JYJ and Jae performing freely and equally showing their music and talent. anyway, everyday is already truly magnificent with Kim Jae Joong gifting us fans with his remarkable album and stage performances 😀 thank you very much Jae ^!! see you more on tv/broadcast 😀

b.At the actual concert, the staff member had already said that only arirang perfs of all artists will be aired on TV
So it’s not only Jaejong’s Butterfly was not aired but other artists’ pop perfs.
About a month ago, I was watching this performance on fan cam almost non-stop. When I saw this in the morning, I couldn’t watch it, crying was the only thing I could do.
