▲How to select the Power Leaders of Pop Culture
The Herald Economy has conducted a survey of ‘2013 Power Leaders of Pop Culture’ of the profession of movie, broadcast, K-pop, performance, and pop culture. Expert group working in the culture industry participated in this survey, which selects figures who have a great influence on economy, culture, and society (from production, investment, marketing, management to policy about pop culture.) The panel of participants chose from nominees in consideration of the outcome of their performance this year, the future potential, the ability of mobilizing capital and the public, the public recognition, and their influence on this industry. On the occasion of the 11th anniversary (of this survey on power leaders of pop culture,) ‘2013 Power Leaders of Pop Culture’ has increased the degree of participation of expert respondants, raising professionalism and fairness. Through active cooperation with the public institutions and broadcasting companies as well as the academic community of pop culture, we completed fairer and more disciplined questions. A total of 72 pundits answered with selecting 5 figures of big power across all cultural field and each 2 figures having an influence among movie, broadcast, K-pop, performance, actor/actress, singer, and MC(comedian.) The Herald Economy decided the ranking by applying weighted values.

but there is something that really bothers me – why is there no photo for our Junsu (refreshed the page of the original source twice just in case)? all the other leaders of Korean pop culture are listed with a photo. Junsu seems to be the only exception…
Oh i didn’t get my info from the source provided in this post. Got it from xiahpress tweet. They screencapped the article from the newspaper, all pics of the 30 are on it, so i’m happy 🙂 And i didn’t miss EXO, i just didn’t recognise them lol

the Junsu pic thing is strange – still no show for me…
anyway, i am so happy for him. Junsu totally deserves being on the list. this official recognition for his contribution for kpop in regard of his acting in musicals will be very gratifying for him with all the passion and devotion he has invested in them so far.
and December is only good things for JYJ
Besides GD and Lee Byung Hun who are singers/actors, the rest I think are mostly the head honchos in the entertainment industy.
@Only JYJ thanks for the info. The fact that most of the other people listed are head honchos in the entertainment industry. Also, with him having to fight to get what he deserves makes his ranking even more special and well deserved.
yup, other than GD, Junsu’s the only other idol on the list…but what I think Junsu himself will be thrilled about is the fact that he’s being recognized more so for being a musical actor than an idol star..
Yes definitely agree. Although i know he will always be appreciative of his legion of adoring fans, I think nowadays he is less focused on the popularity that comes with being an idol star. There is definitely a different kind of satisfaction with being acknowledged in a field that many have dared to venture but few have really succeeded.
@0101jyj and OnlyJYJ I totally agree, this is my thinking too. An example, of his proud satisfaction, shows on his face every time in his musical December. You can see that he is so happy doing something he loves and it is being very well received.

I am happy for all three members of JYJ. Despite facing roadblocks, they are all making spectacular moves in their solo careers. Happy for Junsu. JYJ keeps pushing forward and they will not be defeated!
