Greek temples were symbols of a Greek city’s status, culture and achievement, it’s a place for the gods,
and Kim Jaejoong is a god himself, What an amazing set design for a concert stage, he must had spent a huge amount for it.
Oh, yeah? what about paying the designers, transport of materials, all that steel scafolding and all those people you see up on the scaffolding are skilled labour, so they demand higher wages. and all this to be used for just 2 days, followed by some more labour to dismantle and dispose of all that.
I didn’t attend the concert so I didn’t see this Greek setting, but when I saw Jaejoong descending in that capsule and the Greek letter PSI painted on his chest I made a comment that he symbolized the Greek God Zeus, but PSI is also the symbol of psyche, which means mind or soul and told the story of Psyche and Eros. At that time I was more inclined to take the Greek God Zeus, father of all Gods and men, and God of the sky and thunder who oversaw the universe. That was because JJ descended from the “sky” amidst the thunder of both music and fans.
But since then, having followed his subsequent development, I tend to think that the PSI letter he had on the first day, represented Psyche. In addition to being connected to the beautiful love story of Psyche and Eros in which genuine love and perseverence triumph in the end (even over the gods where Zeus makes Psyche immortal so they can live for ever with Eros), in Greek the word psyche means a buttefly. The butterfly which Jaejoong imprinted at that time on his chest has also a great significance in Greek mythology and I am even more amazed about how much Jaejoong knows about Greek mythology (or may be nothing about him should surprise me any more).
Here is what greek mythology says about the butterfly. “There is no illustration of the immortality of the soul so striking and beautiful as the butterfly, bursting on brilliant wings from the tomb in which it has lain, after a dull, grovelling, caterpillar existence, to flutter in the blaze of day and feed on the most fragrant and delicate productions of the spring. Psyche, then, is the human soul, which is purified by sufferings and misfortunes, and is thus prepared for the enjoyment of true and pure happiness.” (From Bulfinch’s Mythology: The Age of Fable)
.and now I see that capsule from which Jaejoong emerged as the chrysalis from which the butterfly burst out, freed from its prison.. and so is Jaejoong’s soul “purified by sufferings and misfortunes” and hopefuly, ” prepared for the enjoyment of true and pure happiness.”

Thanks for sharing, it’s one thing I like about a Jaejoong fan, he inspires us to learn/read more, whether they are really connected or not, at the end of the day, it’s us who do the reading benefited from it, it widens our knowledge to some random things, in here, about Greek temple and mythology.
very interesting how it is all set up. lots of work goes into putting sets together. jj seems to value symbolism and meanings of things.like how his tattoos stand for things, not just random ones
