The Gaon Chart is the national chart of South Korea and is intended to be the equivalent of Oricon in Japan and Billboard in the United States.
The Gaon Album Chart are a set national charts that ranks the best-selling albums, including mini-albums and singles, in South Korea, provided by the Korea Music Content Industry Association. The charts are made up of charts tracking domestic album sales, international album sales and a combined overall album sales in weekly, monthly and year-end format.

i am very very happy – i just received my copy of the album today. i buy from KTOWN4U/DVDHeaven and it usually take 2 weeks, but not this time 🙂 plus, i wasn’t charged any additional taxes?!?which usually happens with one album and this time i oredered two…but i am not complaining 🙂
the design of the album is so pretty and creative- i’m in love with it. n to mention the content..

Since it was reported that Just Us has 120k pre-orders (retailers order), so even with just 3 days of release, Gaon charted 126k for July.
Just want to share this because there are still some people who are confused with the difference between Gaon and Hanteo figures.
Gaon sales :
-These are shipments of albums from distributor to retailers, as reported by distributors.
-Example: Albums shipped from CJ E&M, Loen, Universal Music, etc. to retailers like Synnara, Hottracks, YesAsia, etc.
-Note 1: Only distributors that are members of the Korean Music Content Industry Association have their albums reported on Gaon.
-Note 2: SME, YGE, JYPE and other management companies do not deal directly with Gaon.
-Note 3: There CAN be a margin of error between actual shipments and the shipments reported by Gaon.
Used by Golden Disk Awards and some of the other end-of-year awards
(unsold albums are deducted from the reported sales after a period of time)
Hanteo Sales ( JYJ – “Just Us” – 43,100 (Jul 29) updated Aug 6 )
-These are sales of albums from retailers that are Hanteo’s member shops to consumers, plus an amount estimated generated by Hanteo’s sampling and data-mining for the remaining non-member shops.
-Example: Albums that you buy from YesAsia or DVDHeaven
-Note 1: Hanteo’s member stores cover approximately 85% of the sales in Korea.
-Note 2: There CAN be a margin of error between actual sales and the sales reported by Hanteo.
-Note 3: Sales are reported to Hanteo’s server and updated to the charts automatically, the data is NOT manually entered into the system.
-Used by Music Bank K-Chart and other weekly award shows
