i watched on Singapore OKTO channel. Psy got to give a short speech but JYJ, the ambassadors, did not! they sang half the theme song but the attention was all on the torch bearers, especially super star Lee Young Ae who has retired from showbiz for years. (who is by the way very beautiful, don’t blame her). IAG disappointed me again. poor JYJ.
i felt the same way. not even have a chance proper greetings let alone speech. the camera shots (worse is when jj solo part cone, camera runs away) and sound quality are different too. anyway, i’m so proud of the boys…their innocent smiles and angelic voices never fail.
Exactly my sentiment. I don’t understand why JYJ, being the ambassadors weren’t given a chance for a speech but Psy did. And he get more exposure and camera zoom in shots than JYJ. While they were performing, their shots were very fleeting and then the shots were either on the torch bearers, the contestants or spectators.
I felt very disappointed as well. It was a repeat of what happened before when they were performing for that tournament a few years back. Their music playing and you can hear them singing in the background but the commentators would not shut up and there were only a few shots of them and they were being zoomed out or it was showing something else.
This is probably IAG’s way to try to placate us fans and their briber SM. As proud of these men as I am, SK is making a huge mistake and I hope that this tournament will never be hosted again in SK.
Plus, I think that JYJ should have a monetary clause in their contracts with these liars about their appearances. They will pay JYJ xxx-million amount and CJES xxx-million amount if they go back on their contract and it needs to be a big and hefty fee that would make organizations like this think twice before taking advantage of them and their fame and then backstabbing or throwing them aside for SM.
These men work hard for their commitments and do not deserve to be treated like shit! They are too good for SK. They would never have this kind of treatment elsewhere because they went against a slave labor company like SM. SM had already gotten more than they should have from these men and DBSK and gotten more in return then what little backing they put into these men when they were part of DBSK. SK showbiz needs to show more backbone and stop kissing SM’s ass. There are other entertainment companies in SK.
Been waiting for years to finally see JYJ singing and dancing together broadcasted in TV. the day finally came!! Their expression is just so happy!! We fans are also happy when you are!!!

I have watched the 2014 Incheon Asian Game live. Oh my!! I am so excited and elated the moment I saw JYJ appear on my TV screen, I screamed in joy and blast my tv volume to hear them sing. But I feel that their exposure are very short especially not much zoom in. Especially Jaejoong, he doesn’t have much camera shot. The cameraman only zoom in to Yuchun and Junsu. I wanted to see all the three of them to get more zoom in shots and the shots to stay longer on them cos I find whenever they shoot JYJ singing, is only in a flash then the camera will shoot the contestants and spectators. Still, I am really really happy to see them being broadcast singing live on TV. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️JYJ !!! Yeah !!!
It does not matter how not enough exposure was given to JYJ did you not see their faces, my heart fell, they look soooo happy, it made me happy but it’s still a long way for JYJ to be treated has they should be treated and it’s up to us to make sure we keep on the fight, but at this very moment, JYJ was perfect and definitely outshone the rest, they were on NATIONAL BROADCAST YES. 🙂
Has for SM XP try harder you may try to monopolise the event and everything else for that matter but JYJ WAS ON TV, JYJ will always be more respected than you. You have lost this one and we are right behind to make sure you fall again. NEXT. 🙂

after watching tonight performance…one thing realize that…we have a very long way to fight against those unfairness…no matter how we console ourselves, the difference is difference.
BUT but…OMG… the boys looks super happy…even a glimpse of that camera shot…i can see and feel their smiles.
Because we are not just fighting one company. We are fighting a long-standing culture of corruption, unjust complacency and inaction. To cure this would require a long, thorough and wearisome process. But I commend JYJ and their strength should inspire those who intend to break this negative culture. Small but sure steps will do. Let their smiles give us strength. Forge onwards, JYJ!!! ^_^

From the beginning of their performance, I also feel that they are not given the full attention and exposure they deserve. But, I am totally feeling their happiness from the smiles on their face, they look like they are really happy and enjoying their performance !!!
OMG can’t believe my eyes JYJ on tv and broadcast all asia country….and those boys looked so happy and smilling…..when I saw their faces feel like crying they have waited for this for years.. then if we want to see their happy faces like this again keep on fighting for them continue to support them now and in future!

I know it may not enough exposure for JYJ but to stand on that stage, broadcasted live in national and international TV is a GIANT step for them…
Put aside a banned issue, not all korean artist has the chance to stand on that stage, the stage where billion of people across Asia (or the world) are watching but our JYJ did !!! yes they did !!

thank God, my local national TV broadcasted this opening ceremony. From the beginning until all JYJ’s performances. So although I didn’t watch it live, I can feel the excitement and the overwhelming happiness to see them perform on TV (not only in Korea but also around the Asia). I cried when they played the intro of “Only One” and when JYJ came up on stage. This moment is especially emotional for me, Jaejoong, Yoochun, Junsu and I’m sure for all of JYJ fans as well.
Wishing and praying for all the good things that will come their way, JYJ fighting ❤ ❤ ❤

I’m glad i could catch them live on tv, although their screen time was short, and the focus was mostly on the torch bearer, i think we can take pride in how the guys carried themselves with dignity and class. They were cheering on the event, and looked so happy basking in the celebration. And the camera man must be a Yoochun fan, he’s got the best close-ups^^

maybe it was because of the huge venue, the instruments during few first part of Only One sounded reverberate, the echo was a bit much. But nonetheless, this is actually the time when i feel really proud of that song ^___^

Empty is a great choice for this stage i must admit! *takemywordsbacklol*. this is much much better compared to their last Daegu performance.
i watched the broadcast live on my national TV. i don't know about any korean mc comments about JYJ, but i'm so glad that on my tv, it was quiet so the sounds focus just on JYJ! and by the end when the english commentator said, "JYJ. with Empty", gosh! my heart just melted! proud of our boys! :')
So happy for JYJ! Finally got to see them live on National TV! JYJ fans, both international and local, all had the chance to watch them in their own local TV networks (sad though that ours didn’t show JYJ’s Empty!) JYJ and fans will always be here, breaking down SM wall one brick at a time! 😀

I believed that this is not completely fair as JYJ didn’t get to talk. But they performed three song, well 1/2 of Only One and 1/2 of the Hymn, but it was still good. I LOVE LOVE Jae’s focus during the Hymn~ Melts my heart, lol. I’m also happy that JYJ have English songs that they can perform at an international event like this. Especially “Empty” because did you see, the lighting and all, it was like they were at a concert/club-ish thing having a blast. Even the athletes were jumping and dancing ^^
After all the comments about unfairness, I decided to watch the other performances, both Exo and PSY. Guess what I found out, EXO performed way before the broadcast (I believed) and they didn’t even get the stage like JYJ and PSY did. The only videos I saw of their performance is a short 1:30 footage from a Chinese new network and a few seconds fancam. Fans of theirs on YT was complaining how it was unfair and all that they waited for EXO, but they didn’t get broadcasted. I really wanted to say “Well, now you understand how JYJ fans felt the last few years whenever something happens to JYJ broadcast appearance on TV” but I didn’t because that sounded mean and I understand what that disappointing feeling is.
As for PSY, I do understand why PSY gets to talk because he made such a hit and got recognized worldwide. But I don’t think we should mind that much because I don’t think JYJ minds. The good thing is that they APPEARED on broadcast with proper stage and proper commentary that promotes their name and their songs 🙂
IAG didn’t keep the deal fully, but at least they didn’t do anything funny while JYJ performed. I thank them for that.
Now, hoping JYJ can appear at the closing ceremony too~ 🙂

“Hymm” is the first track of disc 2 while “Only One” is the 2nd track.

I’m so proud and so happy – all the emotions of wating, the fight to get them there, the disbelief they might not perform, the anguish – it is over and they were a part of the opening ceremony, as they should be and on national television at last!

cant contain my happiness seeing JYJ performed and saw those TV Logos.. KBS Live.. MBC Live.. gosh.. so proud.. finally the can ‘comeback’ in tv.. only JYJ that always did their TV comeback by performed in important National and International event, like this IAG, the South Korea Presidential Inauguration and Daegu World Championship.. When other did it by performed in music shows, JYJ did theirs with style =)
PS : sso far, this is the best out of those tv performances JYJ did, coz they didnt cut JYJ performances, but show it fully and MBC even provide lyrics =)

i am so happy after watching this! i was one of the most negative fans and expecting nothing again so i think it is awesome! they were on stage in front of all those people the whole time of the finale of torch lighting. they are an important part of this whole thing but, the games are what this is about so to have JYJ on television very clearly a part of it all is thrilling! it is not a concert so i didn’t expect them to be the source of focal point. it went well together with them waving to the audiences and athletes and singing the theme song when they did! then the lighting of the torch was awesome and they sang again RIGHT after so they were involved in it and shining brightly and on TV and i just am very grateful to have this happen! at all! so very proud of them and of the whole thing. gosh, it is so exciting! will more come of this now? lets hope so :} ❤ 😉
This is exciting! I’m glad they got to sing here!!! And people should stop complaining about the camera angle/coverage. This is a game not a concert. The main focus will not be JYJ especially during the opening. The opening is used to introduce the athletes.
Exactly! And to have JYJ as part of the most important part of the ceremony “torch lighting” and singing the official theme song and a new IAG song is something we should be happy and proud of. They were at the center of the stadium cheering the whole time the lighting ceremony as Ambassadors, they are like the Honorable guests and performers of the night.

I’m so proud hearing the English commentator ” JYJ, the Honorable Ambassadors of IAG… ” as their intro. People should note that JYJ were not singing during the introductions of the torch bearers, they were there as Ambassadors to witness and cheer the torch lighting, that’s so honorable for them, no wonder JJ and JS tweeted that they were happy, maybe they felt elated during the rehearsals. That was a very important event for the Korean people and J-Y-J were at the center of the stadium for almost 15 minutes.
And we need a new MV for the new song ❤ .
" With all the shams and drudgery and broken dreams" (from Desiderata) , I thank IAG, choosing JYJ as their Ambassadors was a brave act in the first place knowing how they are banned in SK, yes, there were disappointing and outrageous circumstances, but after all, IAG is the first entity to give JYJ the opportunity to be on 3 major broadcast channels in SK together with the live and delayed telecasts of every participating countries, that was a breakthrough!

Wow, it really happened! JYJ, on TV, and sounding and looking fantastic! I give IAG, a half thanks for finally giving them the opportunity they were supposed to according to their contract, (Half, because they only honored half). And a thumbs down, for stealing their press coverage, and ignoring them until the last minute, and creating bad feelings for their fans. If it wasn’t for the wonderful fans who fought for JYJ, this night probably wouldn’t have happened. JYJ, has awesome fans in their corner, and they deserve it. Team work is a wonderful thing!

Even though I did not see JYJ Iive by watching these fancams I feel so proud and happy for JYJ!!!! They looked gorgeous and their performance was awesome!!!! I am so happy they finally got a chance to be on broadcast tv!!!! This felt like important history was being made!!!!!
The most important thing to me was the look of happiness on each of their faces. There were many ways the broadcast could have been better, but for now, I just want to enjoy the moment with JYJ. Just like they did! 🙂

I am very happy for them, SM ent wants to block them but they can’t. JYJ performs at international events like president inauguration ,Daegu international sports and now Incheon games not local event.If they perform locally or not, their fans are still there for them.
