2014 Incheon Asian Games opening ceremony was held at Incheon Asiad Main Stadium in Yeonhui-dong, Seo-gu, Incheon on the evening of September 19.
◆ JYJ ‘opening night of joy’
Honorary ambassadors for the Asian Games, JYJ(Kim Jaejoong, Park Yoochun, Kim Junsu) put on a congratulation performance and sang ‘Only One’ passionately with the (sacred fire) torch relay for sportsmen and sportswomen. On this day JYJ’s performance was significant. JYJ has experienced conflicts and persisted with inference, like being able to stand on a formal stage; up until the Asian Games opening ceremony, having been active steadily as the honorary ambassadors. But in the end they ascended on to the stage confidently in the first stage of the lighting of the torch and finale on this day, and were even caught at the right camera angle. They got to appear on terrestrial television through the Incheon Asian Games opening ceremony stage together after 5 years.
JYJ ascended on to the stage of the congratulation performance ‘We are going forward into the bright future where we live in unity!’ in Part 4 of the 2014 Incheon Asian Games opening ceremony; held in Incheon Asiad Main Stadium on September 19. JYJ sang ‘EMPTY’, one of the tracks from their 1st album; while participating players –gathered from throughout Asia– enjoyed the festival, like dancing and etc.
JYJ appeared during ‘We who carry the fire of the future(미래의 불을 든 우리)’-the relay for the lighting of the torch, and sang the Incheon Asiad song ‘Only One’. Attune to JYJ’s song, baseball player Lee Seung-yeop, golf player Park Inbee, speed-skating player Lee Kyou-hyuk, female basketball legend Park Chan-sook, and pioneer of [Korean] tennis Lee Hyung-taik handed over the torch.
